Canadian Embassy in Korea
10:56

The Canadian Ambassador, Chin Shato, was bored. He volunteered to be the Ambassador without knowing there wouldn't be a lot of action with Korea and Canada. He waited by the Telegram receiver and radar for something to happen. Then, a strange noise appeared on two of the receivers.

"What is it?" Shato asked, leaning against the table.

"A message in...Arabic?" replied the operator.

"The North Arabians speak Egyptian. This is a Rashid Telegram! Get Jamar over here now! Record that message!" Shato exclaimed. Jamar, the Hindi Translator, knew Arabic from his time in Iran. So when the telegram played, he understood it.

"What does it say?" Shato asked.

"It seems like the Rashid...are supplying weapons and ammunition to rebels in Indonesia..."

"Now Nusantara," the operator added. Both of them stared at him.

"...but I don't know where. That's it," Jamar finished.

"This could get us another ally against the Philippines! Contact them now!" Shato said.

The operator replied yes sir and ordered one of the crew to send a telegram.

To: Nusantaran Minister of Foreign Affairs
We have intercepted a telegram from the Arab Rashids. They plan to aid rebels supporting Iman Nasir to rise up an overthrow you. We will provide supplies for the incoming uprising. You must hurry!

Zhongnanhai, Beijing, People's Republic of China

Mao Zedong sat in his office in the Zhongnanhai, having a cup of tea with Zhou Enlai, the premier of China, pondering their next moves. The PRC is a young nation, and is just another ruling dynasty in China's long history. However, the Communist Party intended to make their dynasty last.

"What options do we have to rebuild such a large country?" Mao asked, though his tone speaks of no concern.

"I wouldn't know." Zhou Enlai replied.

"Keep making ridiculous remarks and we'll see what happens."

Zhou Enlai's face lit up with horror for a split second, fearful of losing his position.

"I believe our best option right now would be to seek economic help."

"From who, though?"

"The Soviets helped us tremendously in our war of resistance, and so did the Americans, but I believe that the Soviets are more likely to give us aid in these troubling times."

"Send a telegram to Moscow requesting our friendship, tell them we'll be over a visit."

"Right away, sir."

TO:Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR
FROM:Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC
Greetings to our friendliest neighbor. Your assistance during the great war was detrimental to our victory against the Japanese, but now we require your aid more than ever before. In these troubling times our nations must forge an unbreakable alliance. For that, we request that two of our highest ranking officials, Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai, to personally travel to Moscow. They request to sign a Sino-Soviet Treaty of Friendship and Alliance along with other agreements on aid and trade. They would be open to discussion from the Soviet leaders, and would even like to personally befriend some of them. We hope you consider this message.

It has been a week and a half since the first shipment of weaponry arrived at Texas and it has already proven to be effective. The rebels are now more powerful than they ever were. With the acquisition of an old destroyer from the Canadians, Vaas's pirates can now effectively take on any warships that are in the Gulf, granted they are only going against one at a time. With considerable trade being exchanged across the Atlantic, the Pirates look to capitalize on the valuable resources that are carried on those cargo ships.

Gulf of Mexico
Approximately 300 miles off of the coast of Mexico
8:00 PM Mexico City Time

"Let's hope this ship will take it down before they send in reinforcements." Xavier said worriedly

"We'll be fine. We trained for this.", Luiz replied, attempting to reassure him, "Plus this ship's got 15 torpedoes in her storage in case things get hot."

"But we are capturing it, right?"

"Of course, what's the point of blowing munitions on a ship that you end up destroying?"

The sun was just below the horizon, the perfect time for an ambush of this type. At this point, The two pirates could see the ship out in the distance. As they had closed in on the ship, they began to recieve an incoming transmission from the IRA vessel.

"This is the USS Springfield CL-66, identify yourself.", the radio bellowed

Luiz hesitated to respond to their transmission. Even though there was an American on broad with them for the sole purpose of this scenario and the labeling of their ship as American, he didn't know whether or not they would believe them.

"Repeat this is the USS Springfield CL-66, identify yourself.", the radio bellowed again.

Finally, Luiz allowed the American to respond and ordered the ship to go at max speed.

"This is USS Waters DD-115, responding." the American replied.

There was a long moment of silence on the radio. At this point, the destroyer was in striking distance of the cruiser.

The radio came to life once more, "Hold on a second. According to what I'm seeing here, you're not on the Navy list. Says here that the USS Waters was scrapped in 1946. Identify yourself or we will open fir-".

The first torpedo hit the cruiser before the radio could even finish its transmission. This was the signal for the pirates on deck as multiple rockets fired from RPGs began to race towards the cruiser, causing moderate damage to the deck of the ship. Another torpedo was fired as smaller boats departing from the destroyer began approaching the cruiser. It took 10 minutes, longer than what it was supposed to be, before the ship was under the control of the pirates. Time was of the essence as the two ships sailed away from the scene before reinforcements could arrive to investigate.

RCS Kingsman, Gulf of Mexico
8:00

Captain Leman had just finished patroling the Mexican coast. Everything was clear, and only Cargo ships and other Canadian vessels were spotted. They had two hours before finishing time and the RCS Vacal would take the night shift. Suddenly, screams were heard in the distance. Leman sat up and his crew just stared at the sea where they heard the screams. Leman rushed to the Telegram Room. As he exited the Control Tower, he heard his crew say, "Sound the alarms!" As Leman rushed to the other side of the ship, sailors went to their stations as a yellow light flashed. Upon getting their, the people inside were already sending telegrams.

"Have you intercepted a telegram or noise?"

"No sir, not yet, we have been trying to."

"Alert the Vacal and the St. Lawrence!"

"Yes sir."

Leman rushed out the room and back to the Tower. He entered as his crew shared their thoughts about what was going on. Then the door opened.

"Captain, you better come see this," Lightoller Mathews said gravely.

"What is it?" Leman replied as he followed him up the ladder and into the Toller Nest.

"Well, I can see a flag waving with my scope, and according to my booklet, that's a Vaas ship."

"Oh on.." Leman mumbled under his breath.

"And the noises of the ships we heard, as well as the gray figure we saw at 7:00, that is an American."

Leman's eyes went wide to Mathews, and he rushed to the Telegram Room, briefly giving his crew orders to turn the ship in case of attack. At the Telegram Room, he sent a message to Canada.

The hot air of the tropics irritade Admiral LeMat. Mosquitos where the worst, and the heat combined with the opressive humidity did him no good. so as he sat under a fan and sipped an ice cold glass of wine, one of his subordinates came in covered in sweat. Clearly he had run from somewhere.

"Yes?" The admiral asked.

"A pirate attack was just reported and a US ship was seized." The officer replied as he handed the admiral the telegram.

"Those pirates!" The admiral roared as he went on a tirade. "While we where at our weakest they took Matrinique and Guadeloupe! and now they have the nerve to attack our ally and benefactor! This is unaccpetable! Tell the government back in Paris to blow the pirates out of the water!"

"Well that's just the thing sir..." The officer began to say before the admiral cut him off.

"What is?! Speak dammnit! Speak!" The admiral yelled as the poor officer cowered in fear.

"The Canadians told us to reign in the Americans because they weren't involved." The officer said meekly.

"Oh they weren't involved?!" The admiral yelled rhetorically. "They where as involved as de Laborde was a fascist traitor!"

"Sir, should I deffer to Paris for this?" The officer asked.

"No. I'll write the letter. We've got the upper hand here." The admiral said as he marched over to his typewriter.

To: The Vaas and Canadian Governments

The act just commited by Vaas is a clear act of war. Retaliation by the Americans is most certain and France will join in when the Americans retaliate. The only way to avoid French involvement would be the handover of all French territories captured by Vaas as well as the promise that French shipping will be attacked by neither Canada nor Vaas. The consequences are clear if these requests are not met. As it is, the French fleet is already on high alert.

In response to attacks on American vessels by the Pirate Republic of Vaas including a perfidious disguise of Vaas ships with an American flag, the Imperial Republic of America will immediately retaliate against the Pirate Republic of Vaas.

Midway class carriers deploy up to 125 naval combat aircraft such as F9F Grumman Panther, the A-1 Skyraider and the Grumman Corsair to hunt down and destroy Vaas vessels threatening American ships using automatic cannons, unguided rockets and bombs, it is believed that the Pirate Republic of Vaas has minimal aerial capabilities, however, all attacking aircraft are ordered to destroy any Vaas aircraft that they encounter.

Naval patrols in the area are instructed to attack Vaas vessels simultaneously with the air attack, with Baltimore Class Heavy Cruisers, Atlanta Light Cruisers and Iowa Class Battleships on the lead due to their excellent anti ship capabilities, while also being supported by submarines and destroyers, during the attack, American warships also fire reverse engineered V-1 flying bombs at Vaas vessels, some fitted with rudimentary radio guidance. The air and naval attacks are to continue until either the capabilities to threaten American shipping is neutralized or if the Pirate Republic of Vaas cease all attacks on American shipping.

To: Pirate Republic of Vaas
From: Imperial Republic of America

Cease your attacks on American shipping immediately, or else we will continue our air and naval attacks on your nation's navy, if you continue to launch these attacks on our nation's shipping, we may escalate our retaliatory response and launch attacks on your nation's home territories itself, also your action of attacking an American vessel while flying an American flag constitutes an act of perfidy an open violation on the international regulations on warfare, and thus a war crime. Cease your attacks on our shipping immediately or you will have severe consequences.

"They are being very aggressive about this incident. I'm assuming you heard-"

"About the bombings? Yes. I've already halted all orders and shipments until things die down. They only managed to bomb a few of our smaller ships."

"So how should we approach this?"

"Normally, I would tell them stop whining about one of their precious ships being stolen, but this is the most militarily powerful nation in the world. They've won their day of warfare. Perhaps it's a good thing, I should've been stealing from the CSA, because who the f*** cares about them? But this won't be the end of it. Not by a long shot."

"What do you mean?"

"I'll explain later."

Istana Bogor Presidential Palace
West Java, Nusantara

Mohammed Hatta rushed through the halls of the palace, holding files of papers in his hand. He banged his fists on the door of the President's office, tapping his feet and cursing under his breath.

"Come in"

Hatta opened the door, rushing inside and dropping the files on the table and began to stutter as he talked.

"Bapak Presiden, we received a telegram from Canada saying that the Rashids plan to supply Islamist rebels. Particularly that of Iman Nasir. If there's an uprising, people will… there'll be more people than we think against us"

President Sukarno sighed and shook his head. The Islamists had been a threat even before the independence of Nusantara, and if the Rashids supplied them then an uprising would not only be possible, it would be imminent. As of now, the army was only re-arming slowly and there would not be enough to control an uprising for the time being.

"But, Canada is offering us supplies." Hatta continued.

Sukarno nodded "Good. Send a message of thanks and tell port authorities to keep an eye out for Canadian boats so we can gather the supplies. I'll make an announcement on our plan of action soon"

"What exactly is that plan, Sir?"

"Just a cleanup."

To: Foreign Ministry of Canada
From: Foreign Ministry of Nusantara

We offer our deepest thanks towards you and your valiant efforts in protecting our country. Canadian ships approaching Nusantara will be allowed within ports with no issues as to accept these supplies. Our victory against the Islamists will prove of the strength of the worker against the tyrant

7th February 1949,
Cabinet Meeting Room,
Cankatya Mansion, Istanbul.

"Dear all, together we meet together in order to discuss several matter of importance. As usual, let us start with reports from all ministries and departments." The President begins the meeting. All the ministries gave their reports on the current situation of Turkey based on their roles until the ministries/department of foreign affairs, police and armed forces were left.

"On behalf of foreign affairs, I would like to report that the Koreans have sent a telegram to relay to all nations that they will be holding a summit for discussions of world peace and stability. There is also the matter of the IRA that wants to establish an embassy in Turkey as well as offering help to counter the Rashids. Iran has not yet sent a response regarding our military access request. As for international happenings, it seems that several countries including France and the US have tested nuclear bombs with the former using the latter's bombs. There was also the incident between Vaas vessels equipped with IRA flags attacking another IRA vessel which seems to be deescalating at the moment as the Vaas has pulled back. That is all." Orhan, the minister of foreign affairs gave his report.

"I see. On the matter of peace summit i'm sure everyone here agrees right?" "Yes." Everyone synchronized in agreement. "Now, as for the IRA wanting to establish an embassy. In my view it would be fine for an embassy to be established but as for help, I am confident in the help that we're getting from the USSR as well as our capabilities." The President looks at the head of police department and armed forces.

"Certainly sir, pardon me for giving my report early but we have now successfully neutralized all terrorist cells in the country and we have received actionable intel that the Rashids are behind all these attacks. One of the cells in Ankara were about to commence their attack on a nearby market but we have apprehended them at their base of operations with a major shootout happening. 8 of 10 their operatives were killed and 1 of ours died honorably with 2 others injured. The 2 remaining operatives were captured and the actionable intel was from their room."

"Very good Samir." the President replied to the Head of Police Department. "Sir, as for the armed forces, I believe that our current arsenal of weapons are enough for an assault on western coast of Rashid territories should it be needed. We would boost our chances if we were to acquire more transports for logistic purposes and to transport our AA guns for the convoy's defense. We should also get an airfield access somewhere on the borders of Iran and North Arabia to station some of our planes and bombers to support the assault if possible."

"Very well Ahmed. let's increase production of military trucks and buy more of them from the Soviets just in case. Everyone good?" Everyone nodded, replying to Ismet. "Now back on topic with foreign affairs, we should be worried if we were to make enemies of France since they are closer to us than the US. But it can't be helped since we already side with the Soviets. At the moment i'm sure that the Soviets wouldn't want a war either."

The Minister of Trade raises his hand to voice his concerns. "Sir, this is my view. What if we declared war against the Rashids but then shortly after US and its allies declares war on our friend the Soviets? We would be left guarding two possible fronts and our military running the assault would take considerable time to retreat back to our territories. "Sure, that's true but we would not need to attack the entirety of Rashid Caliphate. we just need to hit their major cities on the west coast, and possibly their capital to force them to agree with our demands." the Head of Armed Forces replied.

"Surely, if we attack the Rashids, their leader would turn to appeasing our populace and political leaders embracing Islam to rise against us." one of the ministers stated. The public affairs minister looks to the president before replying. "Of course he will resort to that but our small policy reforms in 1945 shortly after WW2 giving some rights that were taken back during Attaturk's rule should alleviate that. We have already allowed the adhaan and other muslim practices to be read in Arabic. At most, only the most radical would take action to rise against us."

"Thank you for your input public affairs minister. Now onto..." The president continued the meeting.

Foreign Letter Dispatch,
Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
Istanbul.

The Republic of Turkey wishes to send its gratitude for inviting us to the peace summit held by your country. We hope to be able to hold meaningful discussions and cultivate world peace together.

Dear comrade,
The Republic of Turkey wishes to purchase trucks and transports in order to aid in the possible assault against Rashid Caliphate. These transports will be used to transport our troops and assets such as AA guns, as well as for other logistic purposes. We are already in the process of manufacturing the required amount, but we will purchase some from you to supplement the number. The exact amount will be given by our Ministry of Armed Forces shortly. Thank you.

The Republic of Turkey hereby agrees to the establishment of embassies in both of our countries for diplomatic purposes. We appreciate your offer on helping us against the Rashid Caliphate. However, we have to decline on that. We are certain that our capabilities are more than enough to pacify the the Rashids.

---------------------------------------------------------------
Summary:
- Turkey agrees to send representatives to the peace summit held by Korea in April.
- IRA embassy in Turkey and Turkish embassy in IRA to be established. Turkey declines IRA help in handling Rashid Caliphate.
- Actionable intel on terrorist cells confirmed. Operatives are of Rashid Caliphate origin.
- Discussion on possible war against Rashid Caliphate.

It was a peaceful day. Everyone was still trying to stay come about the Pirate's interference with the American's Navy and how they almost started a war between the NNSA and the Pirates against the Americans and French. But it didn't happen. It was a miracle. The North American problem was on hold. Now, they could focus on the Middle East, which they had been trying to do ever since their Korean Embassy picked up a telegram being sent to the Nusantaran Rebels from the Rashids. Matilda, as usual, did everything in order to write the telegrams.

"Okay, what's first to write Jaye?" He asked the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

"Tell the Nusantarans supplies are on the way. Remember, we could get another Pacific AND Asian ally out of this," Jaye replied sternly.

"And next?"

"Were helping the Turks take down the Rashids. Send a telegram about allowing our ships into the East Med. to help with the fight. That way, we can go through the Suez, into the Red Sea, and help with the Naval Fight."

"And finally?"

"This one is one your not going to like. We are going to give France Mainland Denmark," Jaye grumbled.

"But why!? That is the perfect place to launch attacks on our Atlantic Islands from!"

"We are doing it as a peace symbol so they WON'T do that! And that is final!"

Jaye shook his head and walked out to write the Telegrams.

To: Nusantaran Minister of Foreign Affairs
We have three large cargo ships worth of supplies to give to your ports. More supplies will be dropped by plane. I would also like to exchange embassies and form a Trade Union to better defend ourselves. The choice is yours. Good luck.

Elysee Palace, Paris

A cabinet meeting had been called. All minister sat at a long table along with Prime Minister Queuille and President Auriol. News had flowed in over the night about Canada giving Denmark to France, Imperial america supporting the reannexation of lost French territory and above all, Admiral LeMat's antics. Everyone in the room was exhausted.

"Well, peace is thrown off track again." Sighed Robert Schuman, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

"Yet this should benefit us. We can be the liberators of the french peoples of the World." Minister of Defence Paul Ramadier suggested.

"No. The Canadians are offering us Denmark as a peace treaty of sorts." Prime Minister Queuille sighed.

"I think we should accept Denmark from the Canadians and then press for Vass to give us Martinique and Guadaloupe." the Minister of overseas France, Paul Coste-Floret suggested.

"I agree with you Mr. Coste-Floret. But the Canadians are alled with Vaas, and the Canadians are also anti-French at the moment and Soviet allies. do you see where I'm going?" Asked the president.

"Yes. i do. But this is a chance not to pass up." Coste-Floret stated.

"Then so it is. Get some telegrams out." The prime minister ordered.

"The next order of buisness is SNCF..." Christian Pineau began.

The meeting lasted nearly the whole day. After the meeting, several telegrams where drafted and then sent.

To: The Vaas Government
From: The French Government

France requests that Guadaloupe and Martinique are handed back to the possesion of the French Republic. If not, the islands will be taken by force.

To: The Canadian Government
From: The French Government

The French Government has agreed to take Denmark as a sign of peace. To end this conflict, both the French and Canadian governments should sign a treaty in Casablanca. The meeting should take place at the convenience of the Canadian government.

To: The Imperial American Government
From: The French Foreign Ministry

The diplomatic support by Imperial America for France is greatly appreciated. However more modern military aid is still necessary. In return, a stream of inteligence will be supplied by France to Imperial America

In these troublesome times, we need more allies. If more European nations wish to join our alliance, we should let them into our alliance if they are pro-western. After all, peace is the better option, but in case of war, we must be prepared.

Ontario, Canada

Everybody was still quiet and minding their own work with the Middle East and Rashid conflict. The, a cry came out through the halls from Government-hired reporter Liam Hills.

"Peace with France!!! Peace with France! Canada is at peace with France everyone!!! No war!!!" he yelled for 10 minutes straight. As the security was shushing and calming him down, a static sound came over the loud speaker before turning into Tyler's voice.

"Yes everyone, you probably have heard the news because of a certain reporter..." Tyler said before clearing his throat. "...that Canada has made peace with France for the time being. A treaty will be held in Casablanca with me, Matilda, Taylor, Jaye, and even our dear leader, Jack MacDonald."

Cries went up as people heard his name in joy. The leader was slowly stepping out of the shadows.

"Now if you excuse me, we have some telegrams to send."

As soon as the loudspeaker came off, everyone, from the Reporters, to the Telegram Receivers, and even the Security cheered and wept in joy, knowing they would live to see another day and not face war. Meanwhile, Tyler and Matilda wrote some Telegrams.

To: French Minister of Foreign Relations
We accept the Peace Treaty and will be in Casablanca when it is signed. Glory to the Peace between Canada and France!
From: Liam Matilda of Canada

To: American Minister of Foreign Affairs
We have made peace with your ally, France, and we would like to make peace with your nation too. We will remove most of our soldiers on the border if you do the same. We would also like to give you rights to practice testing your new Nuclear Weapons on the Canadian Island of Banks Island as another sign of peace between us.
From: Temporary Prime Minister Roger Tyler of Canada

Now that the big two had been sent Telegrams, it was time for Vaas and the Soviet Union.

"What should we do with the Soviets?" Matilda asked.

"Let's announce the peace and to show we haven't been overthrown and turned West, We'll give them a missile or two," Tyler replied wisley for once.

"And Vaas?"

"They had their chance to join us so we could help them," Tyler sighed. "And besides, they're 300 years too late, and they almost caused a war. Time to give them the boot," Tyler said sadly.

To: Soviet Embassy in Canada
We have made peace with America and France. To prove we have not turned West though, a shipment of a trio of our new Onward-Class missiles will be delivered to you. Glory to Socialism!
From: Liam Matilda of Canada

To: Mr. Vaas of the Pirate State of Vaas
To avoid conflict between America and France against us and Mexico, we cannot deliver anymore supplies to your nation, to whom the French consider Terrorists. Good luck, and you can have your port back.
From: Temporary Prime Minister Roger Tyler of Canada

To: Mexican Embassy in Canada
Peace has been made between the Americans and Canadians, as well as the French. The alliance of NNSA is not disbanded, though, so don't worry. Meanwhile, consider giving the Americans a gift for peace, and we advise you to not get anywhere near Vaas Waters. They are on their own now.

To:The Canadian embassy.

Hello comrades, us at the Ministry have decided that we will not risk our jobs by basically vowing down to the IRA, also Mexico was completely neutral during the incident thus the only thing we would be allowed to gift to the IRA is the fist of Mexico, We are sorry but the Dear Leader would fire me and all my coworkers in person.

Radio for Civilian Use.

Minister of Communications: Comrades we would benefit by creating civilian radio stations.

Minister of Education: I think we should rather use it for educational purposes.

Secretary of National Defence: WHAT?! And allow civilians to stumble into government secrets on accident?!

Minister of Foreign Relations:What about creating an actually encrypted radio for military use and then add the civilian one?

Minister of Communications: Guess that works comrade.

Secretary of National Defence: Fine, start doing your thing!

Ministry of Infrastructure and Industry: ZzzzZzzz bakbai uh? What happened?

Minister of Communications: Start the project of encrypted military radio and civilian radio.

-Mexico won't give gifts to the IRA
-Mexico starts encrypting radio used for military purposes.
-A new educational radio channel is started to bring the joy of learning to home.
-Radio for civilian use is being expanded

The Kremlin, Moscow, Russian SFSR
USSR
20 February 1949

Things were not looking good for Foreign Minister Molotov. Despite his attempts to solidify the Soviet-Canadian relationship, it appeared that the Canadians had turned tail and were about to defect to the capitalist and imperialist American alliance. Sure, it looked like the Canadians were giving them gifts to show their friendliness. However, the Nazis had done the exact same in 1941, and after 20 million casualties and four long years of war, Molotov was not going to allow that to happen again. On the Central Asian and European fronts, things appeared to be holding steady, at least. France had recently tested something that looked like an atomic device, but they hadn't made any military movements that indicated anything beyond basic defensive postures. Turkey remained a steadfast Soviet ally, and had even recently asked the Red Army to sell some of their surplus equipment and vehicles to them in preparation for some sort of large-scale operation. In East Asia, despite recent tensions, Korea and China remained aligned with the Soviet Union in support of International Socialism, and one of the delegates from the Foreign Ministry was actually meeting with a representative of Korea now. Finally, the Workers Republic of Mexico had recently agreed to meet Stalin himself in the Soviet Union for a face-to-face meeting. So, for Molotov, if only this Canadian issue would get sorted, then he could get back to work on the secret project that Stalin had mentioned in passing.

The Canadians had previously allowed the Soviet Air Forces permission to establish an air field in Canada, and had not revoked this permission. This must mean that they weren't immediately ready for a ground war if they weren't able and willing to rub out a small air field and garrison. Well, relatively small, anyway. The hastily assembled base already had a runway, several hangars, an assigned detachment of Il-2 Sturmoviks, and a garrison of crack Soviet Ground Forces troops. This made it a minor hassle for the Canadians and their probable Yankee allies to destroy, but also gave the Soviets a means of advanced warning of any planned assault against the bastion of Socialism. Molotov considered sending the gifted missiles to that base for further defense, but decided against it. They would be studied and dismantled in the Soviet Union, as originally decided.

In the end, Molotov found no satisfactory solutions but to continue monitoring the situation for any new developments. In the meanwhile, he would be sure to instruct the officers of the air field and the naval garrison on the Atlantic coast to ensure that they and their men spent lavishly in the surrounding Canadian towns and cities. This could only strengthen Canadian civil support for the Soviets.

Pyongyang, North Korea

General Terenty Shtykov entered the room with the Korean representative a bit late. He had been asked by his boss in Moscow to submit a full report before he went into the meeting, and had had to arrange for a telegram to be sent back telling him that the meetings would not conclude until later, and that he would call then. Irregardless, he was here now, in full Ground Forces regalia.

The aging general stuck out his hand to shake that of the Korean representative. "Good day, comrade. I am General Shtykov, ambassador of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic in this great nation. And yourself?"

On behalf of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the Soviet Ground Forces will gladly allow your great nation to purchase, at a significant discount, military vehicles and equipment. In addition to this purchase, if the Turkish government would be willing to overlook the obvious historical connections that dirty the vehicle's heritage, the Soviet Union would be willing to donate many Sd.Kfz.11 vehicles, captured from the fascists during the war.

On behalf of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, I would be very happy to receive the two representatives of the People's Republic in Moscow or, if the distance proves a challenge, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolian People's Republic to discuss a possible Sino-Soviet treaty.

On behalf of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, I must formally express my disapproval of this transfer of land from Canadian sovereignty to American hegemony. I fear that this will lead to an eventual takeover of all of Canada by American corporate and military interests, and that this will spell doom for the hopes of International Socialism in Canada. I have directed the Soviet Army in Canada to redouble their efforts in engaging and supporting their loyal Canadian counterparts, and hope that the Canadian government will soon come to its senses regarding the American hyenas.

This news of a potential insurrection or invasion sponsored by the Americans has greatly disturbed General Secretary Stalin himself, and he has personally asked me to urge the people of Mexico to see the American hyenas for what they are, and that they are a menace to human rights and the advancement of technology and industrialization around the world. I understand that the Workers Republic has these rumours of rebellion well under control, but all the same, the Soviet Union will watch these rumours with interest. If the Workers Republic is interested, the Ministry of State Security would be able to assist the Republic in establishing an effective counterintelligence network to watch for American interventions. Otherwise, the General Secretary personally awaits the arrival of the leader of Mexico.

Rashid Caliphate

At an undisclosed location, the Caliph and his loyal followers held several men tied up on their knees. A microphone had been brought so the Caliph could speak.

“These men were caught with crosses and Christian symbols within their homes. This is unacceptable. The Rashid Caliphate is no safe harbor for non-followers of Allah. This message is not only for the nonbelievers hiding within this nation, but for all non believers across the world. The day of the world Caliphate is coming. Be prepared brothers. To the followers of Allah all over the world, rise! Follow the examples of our Nusantaran brothers and rise up! Whether you are in the Sahel, Turkey, the Levant or Central Asia it matters little. Gather whatever weapons you can, even if it’s a stick and take up arms against the nonbelievers. All Apostates and heretics must die. Christians, Jews, Atheists, Shi’ites; they are the same. Kill them all in the name of Allah! For example, we will demonstrate how it’s done.”

The soldiers accompanying the Caliph raised their rifles to the back of the heads of the kneeling Christians. He raised his hand up, and then swiftly brought it down.

Bang!

The sound of the shots rang out and the captured Christians were no more.

“The time has come my brothers. No matter where you are in the world, rise up! Kill the infidels! Kill all enemies of Allah! Allahu Ackbar!”

His men repeated behind him. “Allahu Ackbar! Allahu Ackbar! Allahu Ackbar”

Hongma
April 1949

Johanna was pale as chalk. Normally, her features twinkled like the dark blue night sky. Johanna was the one who had to deal with the weather. It wasn't like she was going to be living in a cave or something. It was all about adapting, and she was going to do just that.

She took a deep breath, exhaling slowly. "Alright."

The road ahead was lined with open fields and hills. At the end of the road was Dili, the biggest in this island. It had a lot of people for a small place. Many of the buildings were about halfway done: the war was not kind to the city. "This is going to be a great springboard to get to the next point."

"This is going to be the first of many stops", Johanna said, adjusting the bandoliers on her hip. "Once our business is done in Dili, we're going to the next town over."

Her companion nodded, looking down. "Okay. Let's go."

They resumed their trek along the road. It was still quite a bit to go before they can truly rest, and the the next village they passed was a picture of utter destruction.

"This is insane", Johanna said, looking out over the destroyed town. "That's what happens when you don't have the people you need to help in the repairs."

They can hear a loud voice belonging to a man in a shabby looking suit in the distance. He looked to be in his forties, with greyish hair and tanned skin. He seemed to have drunk a bottle too much. "Long live... *hic* the dawn of the new era... long live *hic* Constantine, the new Roman Emperor..."

Johanna was too far away to see the man pause and take a long swig of his drink. "Everybody, listen to this. We're going to be in charge. We're going to be the first to repair, and the first to provide for the refugees. But, we're going to be in charge, because we are the sons of the Hellenes. Understand?"

Johanna, descendants of Greeks herself, would have none of that. There's already too many neighborhood arguments of what constitutes a "true Hongman". It would have been rude to encourage the man. "Let's make haste," she told her companion.

Matilda received the telegram as he was packing for his trip to Casablanca, where they would stay for a few days and sign the Peace Treaty between the French and Canadians.

"Huh. The Soviets think the Americans are going to attack us and take over because of the peace agreement we made," he whispered as he packed his bathing suit. He went to Tyler's office with the telegram and shared it with him.

"Well, if the Soviets don't think we'll stay Socialist, give them hints in our recent telegrams why were staying Socialist," Tyler said as he read the telegram.

"Sure," Matilda replied.

To: Joseph Stalin of the Soviet Union
I can see why you are worried about an American takeover. But I assure you, if any of them steps out of line with threats or trying to show off with their weapons, we will indeed rearm ourselves for measures. And the Americans stil are showing off their arms to us, and we will respond with OUR arms to show too. Don't worry, filthy capitalism and western ideology is FAR from Canada.

Toulon, France

A whole fleet of ships sat in port. From a flagpole on land flew the French flag in the grey cloudy air of Toulon. While the ships may have seemed brnad new, that was not the case. Most where ships scuttled either in Toulon or damaged during the attack on Mers-el-Kebir that where still repairable. Most of this ships where cruisers or destroyers with the exception being the two Dunkerque class battleships that where being recomissioned into service.

As the large crowd gathered for the reocomissioning of the ships, the French national anthem (La Marseillaise) played as flags where hoisted up the ship's flagpoles. After the anthem finished, the French Prime Minister, Henri Queueille came foward to make speech on this day.

"Today is a monumental day for the French navy. Today, twenty ships salvaged from the depths and rebuilt to the highest standards enter service. These ships range from an aircraft carrier to destroyers. Today, we will rebuild our fleet and strengthen our position on the global stage. Once more France will assert herself in these dangerous times as a mighty world power. Today, France rises again!"

The prime minister spoke with vigour, and hs speech ended with a solid minute of clapping by the crowd. But the crowning moment was when every ship honked their horn or blew their whistle after the speech's end, adding to the jovial scene on shore. Then, a sailor presented the prime minister with a bottle of champange, that was promptly opened and followed with a toast to the navy by the prime minister, and then a toast by the head admiral of the French Navy, Emile Muselier, who had returned to his beloved navy after three years of retirement.

The crowd continued the cheer. It was a moment of jubliation for the cameras and the press. After all, who wouldn't like the flaunting of a nation's might on live television and radio? However, things where not so jovial in Tunisia.

Sfax, Department of Tunisia, formerly French Tunisia

The Sfax Medina was busy with vendors clamoring to sell people goods. Everything from your daily produce to a weapon could be aquired, with our without haggling being up to the customer. However, the medina also drew shady characters, and it was today that one of these characters would act.

As people went about with their shopping, an explosion was heard. Several bootsh where flung into the air, and easily fifty people where killed. Then, five armed gunmen entered the medina and began to indiscriminately shoot. Their faces could not be identified because they where covered with cloths.

The shots rang out as people crumpled to the ground dead and other colapse, injuered and certain to die because the gunmen shot anyone on the ground who so much as stirred. Meanwhile the police atempted to reach the medina through the throng of people escaping the massacre. Progress was so slow that it took the police half an hour to reach the medina. But by the time they did, the gunmen where gone, and 350 people lay dead wth a further 500 injured. It was a bloodbath of epic proportions. Corpses littered the empty medina. But for the police, it brough back memories that where too real. Memories of the cruelty of the Axis in WW2.

Diógenes was following closely the international news. Pirates in the Caribbean and terrorists in the Middle East. As an atheist state, Diógenes discarded the possibility of any threat coming towards the UBSS. However, the Canadians seemed to be having trouble with the Vaas Pirates. It was also closer to home, with the Caribbean being the passage way between trade with Mexico.

After evaluating the situation, Câmara opted to send aid against Vaas. He called in his telegram operator and had him transmit a message to the Canadian Prime Minister. It read

Dear Macdonald
We understand that you are having issues with the organized pirate group Vaas which are acting in the Caribbean
The UBSS will be more than willing to supply you with surplus equipment and ammo, as well as raw materials and food
We hope you are able to defeat this opponent so we can take one step further in completing the world revolution
Sincerely General Governor Diógenes Câmara

btw the telegram has no punctuation on purpose. Cuz it’s a telegram

Casablanca, French Department of Morocco
8:00

The government had just settled into their hotel along with their leader, Jack MacDonald Jr. when he got a telegram at his desk. He rushed over from unpacking his boxes to the telegram machine and read the message.

"Huh. Matilda, come over here!" he yelled. Matilda came over with his suit on and read the telegram.

"Well, the UBSS doesn't know how much naval power we have, that's for certain," Matilda snarked.

"...but our crews could use for some extra food. I'll send them a telegram telling them what we want, sir," he continued. MacDonald nodded and lead Matilda out of his room. Matilda went straight to work a wrote the message.

To: Brazilian Minister of Trade
Thank you for the offer, but we don't need any weapons or ammo. However, for our sea crews, we will gladly take the food. Thank you for the offer, and in response for it, I would like to allow you to have safe access to the Pacific for 30 years if you ever find yourself going there.

Following Vaas's short appearance on the world stage, business within the islands resumed to normalcy. North American smuggling operations went back to full capacity as ships could be seen entering and leaving the ports every hour. While the short conflict with the IRA did cause some damage to Vaas's empire, those losses were quickly recuperated due to their influence over the trafficking industry. While Vaas became more careful and methodical with his actions in the region, he still wished to extract a vengeance against the Americans, seeing them now as a threat to not only Vaas's empire, but the entire industry that he has monumental influence over. Of course, with this recent altercation with American forces, Vaas knew he would not stand a chance against them in an open war. However, in times like these, Vaas has to fall back on the very teachings that he's developed over the decades that has brought him to where he is today.

"I'm assuming you already know about your deployment to Suriname?", Vaas asked as Diego walked into his office.

"Yeah, my only question is why."

"Whenever in desperate times, one has to create allies rather than seek them out."

"I oddly still remember that saying. We're overthrowing the Suriname government?"

"Exactly."

"So who will be the leader?"

"No one in particular, just someone who's a little more friendly with criminals and can effectively hide the fact when someone starts asking questions. I am merely sending you and a small group to oversee that the coup goes over smoothly."

"Understood."

"There is also something else I called you in here for...do you remember what I said back in 1948 about the beauty of the black market?"

"Remind me."

"The beauty of the black market is that no matter it's rarity, as long as the demand is high enough, someone is going to get it. It is a high risk-high reward business. In this case, I'm raising the demand on something big."

"....What is it Vaas?"

"I'm assuming you already know about your deployment to Honduras?", Vaas asked as Diego walked into his office.

"Yeah, my only question is why."

"Whenever in desperate times, one has to create allies rather than seek them out."

"I oddly still remember that saying. We're overthrowing the Honduran government?"

"Exactly."

"So who will be the leader?"

"No one in particular, just someone who's a little more friendly with criminals and can effectively hide the fact when someone starts asking questions. I am merely sending you and a small group to oversee that the coup goes over smoothly."

"Understood."
