Character Information Sheet

NS Nation Name: Azlaake
Character Name: Jacob Tilden
Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 43
Character Height: 5' 11"
Character Weight: 199 lbs
Character Position/Role/Job: Mayor of St. Louis (Serving since 2017)
Appearance: (Photo preferred, not required) (A pic would be great, since we do news articles and such. If not, could you at least give a description? If you need help finding a character modelC just ask on the OOC!)
Character State of Origin: Missouri
Character State of Residence: Missouri
Character Party Affiliation: The Democratic Party

Main Strengths: Incredibly Smart, Optimistic, Funny, very "In-Touch" with voters, and Likeable

Main Weaknesses: Anti-Establishment, not liked by the media, makes too many jokes and fails and others feel he is not serious enough, and little experience (Can you add a character flaw? These weaknesses are all circumstantial and are easily fixed.)

Biography: Jacob Tilden was born on July 19, 1976, to white, religious, middle-class family in St Louis, the youngest of 3 children. (They will have to be upper middle class based on all of the stuff he did while he was a kid.) He was enrolled in a small private preschool where his teachers noted his high intelligence, often surprising them with how much he already knew. Both of his parents were very athletic and fit, with his dad playing college hockey and his mom playing high school basketball, and they wanted to make sure Jacob grew up living a healthy lifestyle. Instead of going to the beach every summer, his extended family would either go to Colorado or western California to go skiing. (Difficult, but not impossible.) After preschool, his parents enrolled him in a small private school in the town of Brentwood (which is in St Louis County) where he excelled in math, history, science, and language arts/English. Sadly, in 6th-grade tragedy struck his family when his father and oldest brother were killed in a helicopter crash outside of Duluth, Minnesota. (Interesting. Explain the context- why were they in a chopper near Duluth?) Over the summer, Jacob, his mom, and his brother moved to Dubuque, Iowa to be closer to family. He started to take an interest in politics during his high school years. He unsuccessfully ran for Student council president of his high school but he did well on the debate team.

After high school, he attended the University of California, Berkeley for four years. He received a master's degree in Computer Science, he majored in political science and also majored in American history. (He would have to get his bachelor’s degree in four years, and would have to get his master’s degree after that. I’m not sure you can get a master’s in computer science after getting a bachelor’s in political science.) After college, he moved back to St Louis where he took a job as a Programmer. On a skiing trip in Minnesota in 2000, Jacob met his future wife, Lily Moore. The two quickly hit it off and they later found out that she actually lives in St Charles county (which is the county north of st Louis if you aren't aware of the counties). After a year and a half dating, the two were married in April of 2003.

Tilden's first-child, Dawn Tilden, was born on July 19, 2006, the same day as Jacob's birthday. Jacob Tilden would repeatedly go on to say, "I see a lot more of me in her than I do of me in well... myself!" Jacob and Lily's second-born and so far last child would be Miles Tilden, born on January 31, 2010. While Jacob seemed to show favorites toward Dawn more, Lily showed more affection for Miles.

After 16 years of working for a small tech company, Tilden first got into politics when he unsuccessfully ran for the mayor of Webster Groves (A city of about 22,000 people outside of St Louis), with the progressives feeling he was too moderate and the moderates feeling he was too progressive. (He should probably have some experience before being elected mayor of St Louis. I would have him spend some time in City Hall, perhaps as a city councilman?) In 2017 Tilden tried again to run for mayor but of St Louis this time! He was able to win the race 62% to 37% of the vote, with his main demographics coming from people under 40. Over the past few years, his approval rating continued to rise, with his education reform bill which put the tax money into a central pot and then was distributed to the schools, rather than your taxes going to that district.

Other Info: Jacob Tilden ran off a platform of "Tilden Progressivism" (Hes not famous enough to name an ideology after himself, but he can try), some of the main ideas are total Universal Healthcare (such as in the UK), expanded support for education and infrastructure, expanded farm subsidies, and the controversial "Mandatory Vaccines".

I have read and accepted the rules of the roleplay: Azlaake

No. Also to the following question I think I'll be switching him to Michigan congressman.

If he is accepted, Diane Paulson, a libertarian running in the GOP presidential primary, would like a word with him. She’s also in Congress, and her and Congressman Vohoffsky run a group called the Liberty Front which has big donors behind it.

Didn't realise social security was taxable in the US...Time to remove the tax on that too.

EDIT: It's also apparently a state tax...Who got THAT bright idea?

Character Information Sheet

NS Nation Name: Byrdeland
Character Name: Patrick (Pat) Collins
Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 34
Character Height: 6'1"
Character Weight: 211 lbs.
Character Position/Role/Job: Michigan Congressman
Appearance: (Photo preferred, not required)
Image
Character State of Origin: Ontario, Canada
Character State of Residence: Michigan
Character Party Affiliation: Libertarian Republican
Main Strengths: Pat has a gift for words and speeches, often riling up attendees at his rallies and invoking passionate responses from those who listen to him, whether for him or against him. He is also very wealthy, which is an aide to him campaign-wide as well as making him appealing to GOP voters.
Main Weaknesses:
In the other hand, Pat can be very vain and blunt, calling reporters idiots or getting into arguments with crowd members. As such some moderates find him unappealing. He is also very wealthy, which beckons disdain from some farther left voters.
Biography: (Minimum 2-3 paragraphs)

Patrick Collins was born in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada on December 2nd, 1986 to a man from Toronto and a woman from Port Huron. His early life was middle class, growing up in the Sarnia suburbs like an average child. He got great grades in school and had several hobbies. His parents were Republicans and exposed to their political beliefs rather young. When he was 18, Pat got a scholarship to the University of Michigan for a degree in business administration, which he accepted. Around the time he turned 23 he graduated with a Master's degree in business administration and an Associate's in political science.

After he left college, Pat became one of the founding members of an up-and-coming real estate company in Flint. He used his degree to grow the business and bought out the whole company over the course of a couple months and became CEO. It was renamed Collins Ventures and soon grew to be a million-dollar real estate chain. By 2008, Pat's company was at the bottom of the Fortune 500 list. His net worth in 2014 was 3.7 million dollars and growing.

2014 was the first year Pat dabbled in politics, running for governor. With no prior political experience, he ran under the Libertarian Party for Michigan Governor. The initial polls actual showed Pat coming out ahead over the Democratic candidate Mark Schauer due to his aggressive campaign and current governor Rick Snyder unpopularity, but he dropped out of the race shortly after said polls were released. After his drop-out, Pat became active in the political world, publicly declaring himself a Republican libertarian, speaking on channels such as Fox News, and donating funds to gun lobbyists. In 2016, Pat ran for senator, once again under the Libertarian party. His platform consisted of loosened him laws, marijuana legalization, reduced taxes, and corporate welfare. He was generally unpopular in Michigan, and didn't win a seat.

Patrick would run again for congressman in 2018, with the same platform as before as well as a push for reduced public healthcare spending. The main difference was that he ran as a Libertarian Republican instead of as part of the Libertarian Party. He was more popular his second time running, and he won the congressional vote by a margin of 5.23%.

If you can’t do Michigan, which I think should honestly be acceptable as long as it’s a district like Amash’s, I highly suggest Idaho’s 1st district.
