My Uni is giving extensions to everyone on demand, so my 2000 word one due this Saturday is now due the Saturday after etc. etc.

I also finished the big 2500 word one last week and so I feel like I've earned a week off.

The bill to direct said money was approved by all democrats and half of the Republicans, while polls indicated a bill for road renovation would receive support from all the Republicans and around a 1/3 of the Democrats.

Governor’s can be fun because they are like mini presidents

NH Governor wouldn’t be fun because NH has a de facto tricameral legislature

Also, they're elected every two years. It'd be a relentless, constant sprint of campaigning.

The bill to direct said money was approved by all democrats and half of the Republicans, while polls indicated a bill for road renovation would receive support from all the Republicans and around a 1/3 of the Democrats.

"As both a gubernatorial candidate and as governor, one of Whitmer's key pledges was to "fix the damn roads", a reference to Michigan's struggling infrastructure. Her initial post-election plan to fund road repairs with a 45-cent-per-gallon gas tax increase was, however, deeply unpopular, with one poll finding it opposed by 75% of Michigan voters, including majorities of both Democrats and independents. Democratic legislators in Michigan's Republican-controlled legislature largely declined to support the plan, which would have nearly tripled Michigan's gas tax and potentially made it the highest in the nation.[

Whitmer's first budget earmarked several billions of dollars for investment in infrastructure. In 2019, she struggled with the Republican-controlled legislature to pass a budget and made several concessions."

So, she struggled to work with Republicans is what wikipedia says.

Also ew gas taxes.

One of the biggest causes of American Democratic failures: campaigning for half your time in office.

"A Presidential tenure is realistically just about 12 to 18 months, after that Congress is facing midterms and before you know it you're back on the ballot yourself" - paraphrased Leo McGarry.

Biography: Jacob Tilden was born on July 19, 1976, to white, religious, middle-class family in St Louis, the youngest of 3 children. He was enrolled in a small private preschool where his teachers noted his high intelligence, often surprising them with how much he already knew. Both of his parents were very athletic and fit, with his dad playing college hockey and his mom playing high school basketball, and they wanted to make sure Jacob grew up living a healthy lifestyle. Instead of going to the beach every summer, his extended family would either go to Colorado or western California to go skiing. After preschool, his parents enrolled him in a small private school in the town of Brentwood (which is in St Louis County) where he excelled in math, history, science, and language arts/English. Sadly, in 6th-grade tragedy struck his family when his father and oldest brother were killed in a helicopter crash outside of Duluth, Minnesota. Over the summer, Jacob, his mom, and his brother moved to Dubuque, Iowa to be closer to family. He started to take an interest in politics during his high school years. He unsuccessfully ran for Student council president of his high school but he did well on the debate team.

After high school, he attended the University of California, Berkeley for four years. He received a master's degree in Computer Science, he majored in political science and also majored in American history. After college, he moved back to St Louis where he took a job as a Programmer. On a skiing trip in Minnesota in 2000, Jacob met his future wife, Lily Moore. The two quickly hit it off and they later found out that she actually lives in St Charles county (which is the county north of st Louis if you aren't aware of the counties). After a year and a half dating, the two were married in April of 2003.

Tilden's first-child, Dawn Tilden, was born on July 19, 2006, the same day as Jacob's birthday. Jacob Tilden would repeatedly go on to say, "I see a lot more of me in her than I do of me in well... myself!" Jacob and Lily's second-born and so far last child would be Miles Tilden, born on January 31, 2010. While Jacob seemed to show favorites toward Dawn more, Lily showed more affection for Miles.

After 16 years of working for a small tech company, Tilden first got into politics when he unsuccessfully ran for the mayor of Webster Groves (A city of about 22,000 people outside of St Louis), with the progressives feeling he was too moderate and the moderates feeling he was too progressive. In 2017 Tilden tried again to run for mayor but of St Louis this time! He was able to win the race 62% to 37% of the vote, with his main demographics coming from people under 40. Over the past few years, his approval rating continued to rise, with his education reform bill which put the tax money into a central pot and then was distributed to the schools, rather than your taxes going to that district.

Other Info: Jacob Tilden ran off a platform of "Tilden Progressivism", some of the main ideas are total Universal Healthcare (such as in the UK), expanded support for education and infrastructure, expanded farm subsidies, and the controversial "Mandatory Vaccines".
