Biography:
Born to a black middle-class family in Fairfax County, Virginia, the Hood Family was relatively well off. B.B's father was a white college-educated accountant working for a successful small business, while his mother was a black housewife. B.B was the second of two children, with his oldest sister Victoria dying in childhood due to a combination of measles and auto-immune disorder. At the time of his sister's death B.B was 2 years of age, and as a result of the loss of his sibling his mother grew to become exceptionally protective of the young boy. During school B.B was not allowed to go on any field trips, regardless of the circumstance. He was not in any circumstance allowed to stay after school for any reason. In short his mother would seldom let him leave her sight.

His mother would often pamper him, and was not willing to say no at all to B.B when he was growing up. B.B also grew up with a stutter, that his mother worked day and night to correct, yet B.B still sometimes struggled to find the right words when speaking. When B.B entered high school he continued to obey his mother, and did not do anything cool during high school. Although he seemed to have a talent for football, his mother would not let him play the sport, as she viewed the tackles as too dangerous for B.B. However, all that parental control did lead to B.B becoming somebody who devoured books left right and center as he had nothing else to do.

Due to his academic excellence, he won a partial academic scholarship to Howard University, with his mother lobbying his father to save for the rest. His undergrad career had an excellent GPA of 3.9 in his chosen major of biology. He did not do anything of note during his undergrad career, except for trying marijuana. That episode was later found out by his mother, which led to stern discipline. After graduating from undergrad, B.B originally wanted to do a gap year teaching English in Liberia however his mama persuaded him to go somewhere less dangerous. So he eventually settled on going to Taipei City to teach English. The gap year was one of the most transformative events of the young man's life. Although he did get approached by locals who were curious regarding his black skin, he thought nothing of it other than an odd curiosity. He genuinely enjoyed his time in Taipei, and found the local customs fascinating. After returning B.B did well on his MCAT, and enrolled in Howard University's Medical School. He graduated around middle of his class in medical school.

After graduating from medical school, B.B decided to join a practice in a relatively part of Prince George's county. But, he would often pool his vacation times together and would spend 6 weeks in Taiwan every year. It was during his vacations that he learned how to speak Mandarin Chinese, albeit with a very heavy American accent. He would spend his spare time coaching the Church Choir.

In 2004 he decided to run for District 22B in the Maryland House of Representatives, in which he easily won the primary due to him being the only serious candidate. His time in the House of Reps is mostly known for his indictment of the criminal justice system. He called for an end to cash bail, scrapping mandatory minimum sentences, and perhaps most controversially he called for the expunging of all non-violent drug offences. He also called for banning all high capacity magazines, enacting strict red flag laws, and other gun control measures. However, he still knew when to fall in line. During his time in the State House he was a pivotal tool for the Democratic legislature in order to get the progressives on board with legislation that they would not be comfortable with.

After a decade in the part time House of Representatives B.B under his mother's encouragement decided to run for County Executive of Prince George's County. After a bitter and divisive election where he eeked out victory with a single point, he became County Exec of Prince. George's County. His campaign was dogged by his then somewhat faltering health preventing him from holding long rallies, with his remarks being generally short and succinct.

His tenure as County Executive has been somewhat controversial. On one hand he expanded the MARC Train in Prince George's County adding 4 new stations between the old ones. He did so by working with the State and Federal government in order to achieve a 3 way compromise in funding. He also expanded TheBus' number of stations by 15%, and negotiated fare integration with the City of Washington DC, and Fairfax, Virignia. His biggest move was spearheading the effort to replace the HHP-8 train with the Siemens ACS-64, due to the spiraling maintenance costs, reliability problems, and part sourcing issues with the former. Although he did not embark on any radical reforms in the education system during his time as Chief Executive, he was able to maintain a good relationship with the teachers' union, and thus avoid any strikes or other workplace disruptions in the schools.

However, there were allegations that he illegally gave gifts to both federal and state lawmakers in order to push through his desired policy. As a result there were 3 different ethics investigations into him. All of them found that while there was "some evidence" to suggest that he gave illegal gifts to legislators on both the federal and state level, the evidence was not likely to stand up in a court of law. In Maryland, he is known by the Baltimore Sun as "somebody who will get a fine job done, even if he had to leave some bodies in his wake"

In 2019 in the wake of Senator Little's retirement, B.B was tapped by Gov. Not-Hogan to be his replacement.
