Several ideas. Any interest?

Marvel:
A time traveler with a grudge against mutants goes back in time and unleashes a custom made virus to prevent mutants from ever being born on Earth.

DC:
The Justice League (except Batman) is transportered 50 years into the future by unknown means everyone thinks they are dead. The world has moved on without them. The Justice League finds themselves in a world ruled by Emperor Luthor with the powers of a Kryptonian but none of the weaknesses.

Star Wars:
Padme was killed by Seperatist forces a month into her pregnancy. During his grief Anakin gave in to his anger and joined the Dark Side. With Anakin now on the Dark Side, Chancellor Palpatine executed Order 66. At the time of Order 66's execution no one has discovered the existence of the control chip and every clone had a functioning control chip.

Inspiration can be drawn from any source but it will be an independent of any source material.

I would like to see the Marvel idea but not as an acttion movie as much as a movie about them losing and coming to terms with their species going extinct

Then that one would not be for you. The time traveler went back in time to a point where humanity hadn't evolved yet and unleashed his virus thus preventing mutants from ever existencing on Earth. There is no coming to terms with extinction they never existed.

I don't feel this story line makes much sense. Palpatine wanted Anakin to fall to the dark side at the right time and killing Padme too early would have foiled this plan. Also he knew that Anakin needed to kill Dooku first which hadn't happened at this point. The lack of knowledge of control chips makes no real difference.
Merry Christmas!

Yes that is what Palpatine wanted, like in real life you don't always get what you want. In this version he didn't get what he wanted so he made do. We'll have to disagree on the clone control chip.

For what reason? Even in the pre-Disney timeline the only clones who defected from the empire where mainly clone commando's. I'm assuming you are using the Disney timeline so the only main ones are Rex, Wolfe and Gregor. 3 clones wouldn't make any real difference. I'm not sure if at this point Ahsoka has taken the mission to Mandalore yet. If she has then she would either kill or be killed by Rex as the two most likely outcomes. That is the only key difference I could find in terms of cutting back a few months.
Merry Christmas!

Like I said before: Inspiration can be drawn from any source but it will be an independent of any source material. Again we will have to disagree on the clones, move on from the subject.

Fair enough I'll move on. Funny thing though that sounds like Disney's ethos on Star Wars.
Merry Christmas!
