It is apparent to me that this is not the position that I want to take on. I wish to help the people of my constituency more and the only way to do that is to resign as speaker. I will preside over the election of the next speaker when we reconvene tomorrow. I'm sorry for doing this but I just can't go any further and leave my people without a voice. An important voice.

Michael leaves the chamber and heads toward the square where the Anti PRC protests are being held. He walks up to the Leader of the Socialist Party and shakes his hand while introduces himself, "I'm Michael Hsing, Independent MP. We must show the people that the people of Banduria are not puppets of the PRC."

"Madam Speaker, I motion we delay the business of selecting another Speaker until the next batch of bills is debated and voted on. We cannot waste precious time sitting idle. I remind every member of this august House that we have a mandate to our people."

We will have to spend these two days electing a new Speaker at some point, and I don't think waiting for a period when there are no pending bills is feasible or fair to you, Madam Speaker."

There are certainly members of the House, and the Leader of the Opposition will surely be among them, who would like to question this government on its record."

Yu lets out a surly grunt. "Madam Speaker, again the Leader of the Opposition demonstrates that she has not listened to what I have actually said. I never insinuated that the Speaker should be forced to remain in her office, Madam Speaker. What I did say is that you, Madam Speaker, if you so elect, ought to appoint a Deputy, a constitutional duty provided in the GEA, who will carry out the rest of the term until week's end, when bills have been debated and votes have been tallied. I fail to understand why this is difficult to understand."
