Personality: Adam is extremely loyal to his friends. He likes to be around positive people, but he likes to be around people in general so he is very social unless he doesn't like the person then he will try to avoid talking to them. But if he is stuck talking to a person he doesn't like he will put on a positive face and engage in a conversation with them. He will do anything to protect and help his friends and he expects the same from his friends.
Brief Backstory: Adam was born in New York City, his parents had been born in London and moved away from the area before he was born in the hopes of putting their skills to work in America. At the age of 5 his parents wanting him to go to Hogwarts decided to move back after living in America for twenty years. The family put Adam through muggle school while they waited for him to turn old enough. The family moved to the outskirts of London and magic was a common thing around the house, he didn't really understand it until he was 10 years old and his parents finally decided to start to explain how these things were possible and why his friends parents couldn't do this as well. He grew with excitement when his parents told him he would be going to Hogwarts to learn how to use magic as well. So over the next year his parents started to teach him the basics and started to go on trips to Diagon Alley to get him adjusted to the new world he would soon be entering.

A month before he was set to leave, his mother became deathly ill suddenly. It was deemed that his father was behind this and Adam was taken away from his family, all his relatives were dead or they didn't want him. So he was sent to the Galium Family, where he learned a lot about them quickly and he enjoyed him time as much as he could. The family has triplets and they were all about the same age. Adam was younger by a year and they all seemed to get along well, but he still missed his true family and still does. his foster siblings were all separated or well mostly, his sister was in Ravenclaw, one of his brothers was in Gryffindor and the other is in Hufflepuff.

Over the years, he has taken an interest in potions which enveloped some of his free time. He also spent some time abroad at other magical schools for extended periods of time. Though the recent events that have transpired he has not really been made aware of to say the least. Nor has he been told the effect of these events, which have transpired. How he will react will well depend on how much things have changed.

So I've been writing this arc for Ricardo for the last four or five months for what becomes of him after the end of Year six. It's been fun and it is also interesting how it sort of gained momentum by itself. I am sure it may conflict with previous posts, and I know for a fact its not easy to follow, with lots of characters and stuff. Still, I wanted to upload it (I have already on the Discord). I am also adding a list of stuff that may be useful to know. Hope you all are staying safe and maybe these 212 pages can help you pass the time.

Ricardo's Family: Ricardo had a fist-fight with his father -Benjamín- short before getting to Hogwarts. Since then he's learnt that he joined the Province. His mother -Natalia- is basically a somewhat grieving figure, and later on he discovers that's because both parents lost Ricardo's twin brother -Francisco- to a Kalku of the Province years ago. He also had two cousins, Alicia -who died short after the start of Year 4- and Jacinto, who has been missing for some years. His aunt, Tania, attacked Ricardo after her daughter's funeral, and has become apparent that she's joined the Province too.

The Righteous Province: Also translatable as Straight Province or Providence. It historically existed at some point in an around the communities of Late 19th and early 20th centuries Chiloé, southern Chile. It was formed as a synchretic community merging Christian and Mapuche religious elements, but with much darker undertones, and existed for as long the modern Chilean State was unable to full the institutional gap in the island of Chiloé. In the Story the Righteous Province takes over the region of Chiloé and southwards in a campaign of assassination and persecution against the original keepers of peace, dubbed "Hunters". The members of the Province are called Kalku, and are fully characterized by an ambitious and egotistical spirit. They don'¿t have an actual leader, but the figure of the Speaker serves as a quasi-religious head that organizes meetings and gatherings.

The Two Ships: The Caleuche is a well-documented myth in the area. Very similar to the concept of the Flying Dutchman, the Caleuche's nature is disputed between a benign force that aids fishermen and sailors find their way back to the shore and cast-aways to be floated safely to the beach and that of an evil ship of enslaved ghosts, sometimes used by the Kalku to move around, attack ships and harass communities. The other ship, the Lucerna, is much less documented.

Both ships, however, have been used by wizards in the region as juvenile detention centers, and are the closest thing to a magical school Patagonia has. Since the takeover of the Province attendance has been made mandatory, and wizard children have been forced to go to classes, much like the Carrow-Snape era in Hogwarts. Each student is given a nickname that becomes obligatory to use, and a fellow student to act as a sibling, a system that has both of them spying on each other. Upon violation of rules, shown of weakness or upon the simple whim of the Kalku, a student is disfellowshipped, severed from their sibling and reduced to some sort of second-class student aboard the ship. Usually they vanish a few weeks after, presumably turned into Invunche.

Invunche: A golem-like creature in Chiloé folklore. The invunche is made by the Kalku from a child through a strict process of torture and reconditioning. Ricardo recently discovered his twin brother was made an Invunche and that the Kalku intended for him to become one as well. Disfellowshipped children aboard the Lucerna vanish after a few weeks of misstreatment, and it is largely assumed they are made into Invunche. Ricardo's theory is that the Invunche works upon a functioning Obscurial, and thus the isolation of the child is what keeps the curse in place.

The Animus Charm: Designed in a similar way as the Patronus, the Animus Charm aims to imprint in a subject a feeling rather than a thought. Created by Caitie in year 6, Ricardo hopes to use it to break the Invunche Curse. However for it to properly work the subject must drink a potion that makes them more susceptible to modd swings.

The Region:

Although not terribly important story-wise, the Southern Cone can be split in three. The Argentine Magical Government (presumably led by President Vasquez) controls much of the Argentine territory, with the exception of the area near Esquel and El Bolson, recently occupied by the Province. In paper they retreated after a protest, but their activities still curb down their authority in the area. The Chilean territory is controlled by a group of families that loosely over watch the magical affairs on their own region. Historically at odds with the “Hunters” to the south, they have, however, tightened their security in their borders lately. The Patagonian region is largely independent, with families and natives living in some sort of coexistence agreement. Originally the “Hunters” maintained peace, but that role has been taken by the Province in the last years.

Most of the action (practically all of it) takes place in Chilean territory between the cities of Puerto Montt and Puerto Natales. It is a coastal region, rather wet and cold. If you feel like getting a sense of location and geography I suggest you grab any map that shows the area in some detail. I personally suggest this one here.

The Native Magic:

Mapuche and Mapuche-linked communities in the region share a similar magic system, with spells as a rule being stronger by cooperation between many and by proximity to places were the magic has been practised in the past. Thus, it is a magic that supports defensive efforts and communal interests rather than personal and offensive ones. An exception are the Kalku, who have successfully corrupted this magic, and are able to use it by themselves and for personal interests. Families of European descent will often see to their own matters and tend to rely on Wand-based magic, however most have a grasp of native magic, and many sustain dealings with native wizarding communities. These communities, and the magic they practice, can also be associated with Earth or Sea.

Recent events and characters:

The First year:

After running the Hunters ou of the country and ceasing hostilities in Argentina, the Province announced that they would be instituting a mandatory education system aboard the two ships, Caleuche and Lucerna. Students were divided by age, starting at 11 years of age, and placed in “Decks” according to their corresponding school year. Deck one to five were to attend classes aboard the Lucerna, and Decks Six and Seven to do so on the Caleuche. Aboard of either ship a strict system of control was established, and classes would often include harassing Muggle communities to desensitise the students to violence. Those who failed to follow instructions were quickly in danger of being Disfellowshipped. Such a thing happened to Jacinto, Ricardo’s cousin. By the end of the year the students found their families too scared to act, fearing whatever the Province could do to them or their children, some of them still held hostage as Invunche.


The Second Collecting:

The start of the second <<School year>> aboard the two ships was largely a failure. Groups of older students, either about to graduate from the Lucerna to the much-worse Caleuche or already on the grimmer ship, organised a rebellion that disrupted the efforts by the Kalku staffing the ship (dubbed Majors) and attacked them as they searched for the students at their homes for a second year, This even has led to several groups of young wizards and some of their parents taking refuge in the wilderness, scattering and unable to act, while the Province hunts them down one by one. At the same time, some of the students that were successfully taken aboard the Lucerna escaped and joined one of these groups.

Oscar’s Group: One of such groups, led by an older Lucerna student named Oscar, currently takes refuge somewhere south of Chaitén. From there they have been making plans, but struggle with starvation and the elements, as winter has fallen in the region. Its leadership, besides Oscar, rests upon Julia, Catalina, Julius, Fabián and Hugo. In an attempt to get help, they sent a Muggle messenger called Nayadeth to Europe, hoping to contact families abroad that may be willing to offer a hand. However contact with Nayadeth was lost short after.

Julia: A black-haired formed Deck Six student. Julia largely inspired Oscar’s uprising. She is cunning and perhaps too eager for her own sake. Currently in Bariloche trying to link up with other groups.
Oscar: A ginger Deck-Five student. He is a natural leader who knows to rely on his girlfriend, Julia.
Julius von Markle: A blond Deck Four student of German descent. Somewhat cynical and cold, yet he is eager to take revenge on the Province.
Catalina: Deck-Four escapee. Organised and diligent, she has been able to keep the camp running while there isn’t a clear path yet.
Fabián and Hugo: Both Deck-three students became friends during their year aboard the Lucerna. Fabián is strong-willed while Hugo is more of a follower, yet the latter will often control his friend’s impetu. Hugo’s brother is presumably an Invunche on the Caleuche.

Yurij was thus raised in a progressive atmosphere of support for reforms and liberalization of the Wizarding World. He was taught to value justice and equality, and to disdain those who had antiquated views about Blood. Yurij lived a happy childhood with his wealthy family, provided with very good education in magic and history before even arriving at Hogwarts. He was an eccentric, creative child, obsessed with great figures of the past and determined to be even greater -- to learn their secrets and to go beyond them.

When arriving at Hogwarts, Yurij had pretty radical pro-Muggle views. This was influenced by the progressive political outlook of his upbringing, but Yurij went even further, secretly harboring quite extremist ideas about destroying the Wizarding World as it was. As a young student for his first few years of adolescence, he viewed the Wizarding World establishment as corrupt and rotten to its core, needing uncompromising upheaval by the forces of progress and equality. He wanted radical freedom for all the traditionally marginalized and oppressed populations in the Wizarding World. Over the course of his education, these sentiments only became more extreme. Yurij was more and more becoming a secret revolutionary.

However, during the great battle at Hogwarts during Yurij’s sixth year, one of William Darkenstone's followers struck Uvistral with a Cruciatus Curse. The pain of this torture left Yurij unhinged during his recovery, and he began to grow increasingly disillusioned with the progressive political attitude he had held for so long. In fact, he became more open to influence by the Wizard Supremacists and their ideas. Overall, Yurij simply believes that the modern Wizarding World is deeply flawed, and he is now leaning more towards a Wizard Supremacist outlook, although he keeps his new views just as well-hidden as his previous ones.

Anton was used to this course, passing unseen in the twilight, and unheard because of the natural murmur of the Forbidden Forest. In complete darkness he climbed over large roots and boulders, leaping across little streams as he moved deeper into the trees. Stopping to catch his breath, his eyes basked in the pale gleam of moonlight on the leaves of the trees. All of this felt so exciting and secret; he enjoyed it very much. Nightbirds rose above him in a rustle of wings; a few stars peaked wet and bright through quiet clouds. There hung above him the solemn anxiety of night that made his heart beat faster.

As he reached his destination, he spoke a single soft spellword, and a light breathed into existence on the end of his wand, like a feeble flame flickering on a thin wick. Stopping and crouching, he reached inside his cloak to pull out what he had come all this way to learn from: an ancient, blackened old book, stolen from the Restricted Section of the school library. He had come to this isolated place to attempt one of the rituals.

Reciting in a strained voice the ancient incantation, Anton allowed the dark power to flow through him as the divination ritual began. Glowing white lines began to shimmer on the forest floor around him, his voice seeming to billow and twist around itself in unnatural ways in the dark air, like it had been made physical in the form of smoke. The power of magic washed up and down over Anton -- he could feel it in every part of him, like some strange heartbeat. Closing his eyes, he found himself.

In the remoteness of the corners of his slumbering consciousness, Anton could see everything he had been; suddenly, with all the clarity of a real landscape, there rose before him a long wall of an old fortress and then, in the midst of that vision, he saw the empty prison floor.

He collapsed to his knees, weak all over, overwhelmed with a sense of the meaninglessness of life. Seeing, feeling, remembering, forgetting were all one in the confusion brought on by this dark ritual, all mixed up in the ache of his body, the fragmented murmurings of the forest and the steady hum of the magical energy flowing through the air.

It all ended. His wand and book fallen from his hands, Anton fell forward, palms in the soft dirt, eyes raised and glancing around with a terrible weariness, inspecting his natural surroundings. Anton felt at one with the dark forest. He felt anonymous within its uncaring depths. The ritual had worked. He had had a vision, though on returning to the realm of the present, he felt like he had escaped from the pit of the abyss. The lustrous green and black tones of the forest were oddly repellent to him now, but not ugly. It was life! Relief flooded through him.

Yes, he is accepted. At present, we are doing summer holiday stuff, although there are plans to have a party at my character's estate before the start of the fall term. I assume from your app you are fairly familiar at least with the general story so far.
