Your reservation is noted.

As for the exoskeleton, so long as there's a valid reason in the background, sure.

I was going to have him be an intelligent, well read, and savvy scavenger so what type of place would he be most likely to find it, some sort of technology company or one of their factories?

Likely a Corrupted or Dead Zone, Pittburgh perhaps. Pretty much everywhere else has been picked clean.

History: (Two Paragraphs Minimum)
Culture: Very religiously purist: follows a neo-Gnostic Christianity, formed from remaining parts of the Bible and other religions from the apocalypse. It believes there are three main deities:
-The Sadist, a Deity of War, Blood, Suffering, Disease and Violence
-The Lustful, Deity of Hunger, Thrist, Desire and Wantoness
-The Narcissist, Deity of Power, Wealth and Narcissism
Along with an ultimate deity from the Realm of Barbelo, whose no man can see, hear or feel. It does not have a name, and is only addressed by the name of the Great Spirit or the Ultimate Being. There are thirty angels, 6 led by each deity. The Ultimate Deity, it is said, created five gods, the three mentioned previously, and two more: the Concept and the Light. The Concept was a deity borne of knowledge, the only one who could comprehend the true nature of the universe, and her knowledge. From the Concept came the planets and intelligence, and from the Light came the stars and life. The Narcissist was too busy, meanwhile, painting art on these planets, with mountains, rivers and other landscapes, to which he declared that he had made great art. The Sadist and the Lustful, as the other three were crafting the universe, had corrupted the life living upon these planets, forging their own living sculptures, borne from blood and iron, in their own image: The Sadist had created man and the Lustful had created woman, both in their image.

After creating man and woman, however, the Narcissist had noticed what the two were up to and created them in their Garden of Eden, proclaiming to them that they shall live in riches forevermore, and in wealth and in spirit. That is when man turned from barbarian to hyena, and woman from prostitute to seductress. Both had become complacent, as the Narcissist had called upon the Concept and the Light for the former to give them language and writing and the latter to give them fire. They had obliged, but as both the Sadist and the Lustful, who were too busy creating violent creatures and large infertile deserts, had noticed this, they had taken man and woman out of Eden, declaring their interactions with the Narcissist, who had appeared to them in his snake-like form, to be an act of blasphemy and heresy against them.

They had set man and woman out into the wastes, leaving them to suffer and fight amongst all the terror they had left. The Concept and the Light had later attempted to fight this, but were exiled into the dark realm to face judgement for their "sin" of helping humankind. They had their last hurrahs, however, and gave the young species science and the forge, something that would help them persist in the new, darker world. With the Light purged, the skies had begun to darken, and the world had slowly begun to boil, and with the Concept's exile came new tides of ignorance, of dogmatism. From the old newspapers, scholars had declared that these new tides were beginning to take hold just as the world died, of hatred across the globe, from false followers of the prophets.

The Concept and Light, however, slowly began to claw their way out of the darkness, sending out messengers: the Concept had sent out a holy man known as Buddha, not as a deity, but as a prophet, along with Confucius, Tao and Zoroaster. The Light had sent out another, by the name of Jesus, along with a few others such as Moses, Abraham and Muhammad. However, thanks to the work of the Narcissist - who had now been left on his knees to the Sadist and yet who had regrown to become of equal power to the duo over time - to subvert the prophets, he had attracted men of power, men who had claimed to follow their message, to warp their words, to create false religions such as Islam, Buddhism and others to worship the tyrant deities. The followers of these religions are themselves to be left to their own devices. They are only unholy in mind, not in blood.

And now, man struggles against the unholy trinity of the Narcissist, the Sadist and the Lustful. When man finally conquers deity, when man unifies and becomes strong enough to take on the trinity, then the Concept and the Light shall release and destroy the beings, ending the age of suffering forevermore.

There is little social prejudice in NAMC society, a little ironic, but this is due to the nature of the religion, with much of the anti-LGBT parts having been lost to history and racism and sexism having been removed by history. Of course, the religion holds stereotypes, but it's not really unequal.

Depends on when I move things along, obviously I don't want to cut interactions or actions short, so for the most part it will depend on player consensus.

History: The Children were born in Montana as one of the numerous bandit clans in the state. They went under another name but most of their past prior to become the Children for much of it wasn't written or was lost from oral tradition. The Children came to being during the past 100 years when they found a group of engineers who were trying to fix a giant airship. From here they adopted them as family and helped them build the airship that became known as the Queen Love.

The Queen Love became the first of many airships that were built that took flight raiding and growing amongst each other. The Queen Love growing bigger and more elaborate as sought to command the skies of the Midwest but backstabbing and a civil war among the sky pirates that nearly destroyed them. Because of this there's a graveyard called the Fall of Heaven which marked one the most important battles of the Children.

All that was left was the Queen as she grew to accommodate the survivors and her families as they traveled across the Wasteland to rebuild their people. Eventually the Queen became known as the largest airship known to all of the wasteland. A monstrosity to some, a feat of engineering to others but the Queen has became a slow mothership as her last Children had to become accustomed to touching down to stockpile fuel and resources before they move across the skies.

As they have done now, they have settled in California, a place close to the sea where they see many people and settlements. This is where the sky raiders believe they could finally rebuild themselves through the act of what they do best.
Culture: The Children are a diverse group of raiders. Many of them are tasked with the repairs and mechanics of the Queen Love while others are tasked with training new air raiders on how they fight. They all hold their airship with reverence as this massive airship was both hearth and home so they will fight with a lot of zeal than normal bandit clans.

They also believe themselves to be better than other bandit clans. Those who only fight on the ground are literally beneath them but they do know that they have their usefulness during these times.

History: Sometime during the Collapse, Adrian Konigg, Governor of New York declared Independence from the United States of America, and proclaimed the Republic of New York (2025 AD - 2047 AD). He managed to win all of New York to his side, save New York City itself. The newly proclaimed President Adrian Konigg (ruled: 2025 AD - 2043 AD) sent his National Guard up against New York City, however, they were defeated by the inhabitants of the Big Apple, at the Battle of Yonkers (2027 AD). After this, a ceasefire was agreed, because President Konigg had to send his forces North, to defend against a massive incursion of Canadians fleeing across the border into the newly founded Republic of New York. Unable to stem the tide, President Konigg agreed to allow the Canadian refugees to settle in the north of the State. President Adrian Konigg ruled until his death, in 2043, at the age of 79.

In 2043, with the President’s death, a National Election was called, and Adrian’s son and former Vice President, Alexander Konigg was elected President (ruled: 2043 AD - 2047 AD, 2048 AD - 2085 AD). In the 4th year of his term, the National Assembly (the former State Assembly) demanded that Alexander stand for Election, and allow an opponent to run. President Alexander has the Assembly members arrested and declared that he would rule for life like his father. This led to uprisings throughout the Republic, with the exception of the capital at Albany and some of the surrounding counties. The rebels attempted to besiege Albany, however, they were defeated by those forces loyal to Alexander. After this victory, on Christmas Day, 2047, Alexander declared the abolition of the Republic and proclaimed himself King of New York. The Throne has passed through several generations down to the current Monarch, King Arthur II Konigg.

Culture: The majority of of New Yorkers are old stock Americans, of predominantly Anglo and Dutch stock, over the centuries, they have come to develop a strong belief in their Kingdom as being “chosen of God”, and referred to their King as “God’s Anointed”.

Armed Population: 3,000
Technology Level: Post Collapse

History: Shortly after the Collapse, driven by changing climate conditions and a brutal civil war which negatively impacted their quality of living, many French Canadians began invading the former state of New York, led by their fearless leader Maxime Boucher, the son of the late Felix Boucher, the revolutionary leader who had helped secure Quebec’s Independence from Canada during the Collapse. The Québécois managed to overwhelm the collapsing State Government of New York, and after seizing the State Capital at Albany, Boucher proclaimed himself Emperor of the Québécois as Maxime I (ruled: 2067 AD - 2126 AD). Emperor Maxime I subjugated all of upstate New York, establishing his headquarters in Albany, and reducing most of the state to vassalage to him. He established a centralized bureaucracy, a strong standing army, and he built himself a sumptuous palace in Albany. However, he taxed his vassals and subjects very harshly and was also known for his ruthlessness and cruelty in subjugating the people. Because of this, when Maxime I died in 2126, after a long 59 year reign, the vassals in upstate New York rose up against the Empire.

The new Emperor Henri I (ruled: 2126 AD - 2168 AD) was of a different disposition than his father; a kinder disposition, but no less pragmatic. Instead of fighting the rebels, Henri invited the rebel leaders to Albany and sought to negotiate, asking them for their demands. The rebels demanded the following: that they be given a Representative Assembly to represent their people, that they be permitted to maintain their language and culture (Maxime I had expressed towards the end of his reign, the desire to make all his subjects learn French), and most importantly, the reduction of tribute. Emperor Henri I agreed to these demands, and halved the tribute due. This staved off the issue for a little while, however, the peace did not last long. Some ten years later, in 2136, the Empire was stricken by a heavy famine. This came at a time when the Emperor Henri was campaigning against bandits in New England, and once again pushed the vassal regions into revolt. Henri escaped an attempted ambush/assassination and returned to his fortified capital at Albany. He attempted once again to negotiate, however, he was rebuffed. His army and people weakened by the famine, Henri dared not risk war, and left things be for the time being. Some time later, once things had sufficiently recovered, Henri gathered his forces and marched out to re-subjugate his former vassals. In 2168, while campaigning up near Buffalo, Emperor Henri was killed by a local bandit, after reigning for some 42 years.

The throne then passed to Henri’s son, who ruled as Maxime II (ruled: 2168 AD - Present). In the aftermath of Henri’s death, once again all the vassals revolted. Maxime wished to repeat his father’s previous strategy of diplomacy, however, he was prevented from doing so by the fact that the vassals were the ones going on the offensive this time. In 2169, the vassals having combined their forces marched on Albany and laid siege to it. Several attempts to relieve the siege were made by Québécois forces stationed elsewhere, between 2168 - 2170, but alas these failed, and the siege dragged on. Emperor Maxime was desperate for aid, and so he wrote to the City-State of New York, begging them to come to his aid. Previously, the City-State had been a rival to the Empire, however, relations had warmed under Henri I. The expense of the siege, and the arrival of emissaries of the powerful City State of New York to Albany, convinced the alliance of former vassals to lift the siege, in Spring 2171. Maxime signed a peace treaty with them, acknowledging their independence from the Québécois Empire, and delineated new borders with them. In the aftermath of this, Maxime was almost overthrown by an attempted military coup d’état, in 2174, however the people came to the Emperor’s aid seemingly at the last second. After all that, Maxime spent the remainder of his reign rebuilding his realm, and restrengthening his military, and presided over several decades of economic growth. In the meantime, the alliance of vassals quickly broke down into bickering and infighting, giving the Empire a chance to recover some of its lost gains. Now in the 55th year of his reign, and the 7th decade of his life, Maxime is just as eager as ever to get revenge for what he suffered in the beginning his reign, and to restore the fortunes of his Empire.

Culture: Unlike the other peoples of the region, the Québécois speak French, and are descended, as their name entails, from the French Canadians who inhabited the Province of Quebec. The Québécois were strongly shaped by their conquest of New York, and their continual struggle for control with the native people. As such, the Québécois have a strong sense of superiority and difference vis-a-vis the other groups, and they also have a strong martial, and militaristic tradition, and are strong, hardy, and industrious people. The Collapse also brought back to the Québécois a deep appreciation of their Roman Catholic roots, fused with deep reverence and borderline worship for their Emperor, who they view as the embodiment of Order and Civilization.

I initially accepted it thinking you and Quebec had talked it over already, I see this isn't the case. You'll have to actually talk about this.

So for the person playing Sunnyvale Trading Co. I would like to establish some sort of deal with you because we're close by with only a bandit clan between us but I got an airship. So my deal is that the Children will use their airship and influence to smack the local gangs down and make them bend the knee, allowing you to trade around without fear of the other groups. All I ask is that use send some discount when you trade with me in guns, materials for that behemoth of an airship or to make others.

I'm not asking for tribute from you because I would have enough from forcing the other local clans to work for me. Besides, Kern county seems like a war between bandits with a giant airship as an ally vs a concentrated force of manpower. Don't know who would win that.

Why would we even consider for a micro-second helping Quebec, wouldn't we just defend our state and destroy you?

NYC is one thing. Upstate New York is quite another.

What’s wrong with a French Canadian Empire in upstate New York?

I don't see a feasible way that French-Canadian Migrants could possibly establish a colony in upstate New York, overpowering the National Guard and US Army, on the scale of a legitimised government, and then somehow woo my nation into betraying the State to aid you without any benefit. If it was an Arcadian Tribe that migrated south, then that would be more believable and I'd be more ready to support.

That sounds doable. When do you think you would have touched down in the area? How long have you been chilling for?

Regarding Kern county, I'd wait on the details regarding them. Their county is quite large, which would be an issue with occupying it. They also appear to be skirmishing with the Republic to the north.

Good point. Would it be feasible for the State Government to have survived in some form, perhaps having proclaimed Independence from the Union during the Collapse?

I would like to note, that at the time of the bombs dropping, the ARNG and Army had both pretty much imploded due to their numbers being ravaged by the disease, infected, and desertion. So it's entirely feasible for what few units still under Federal 'control' to be overwhelmed.
