It's an auto-injector that you shove into a major artery. Then the bacterial spores that have been sitting in a tube on the ground for the past 200 years work by rewriting your DNA with the CAS9 protein... Except most of the time the instructions get a bit muddled. The process usually finishes in a month. The label they have is the gene mostly affected. So CD4+ (The one Vacif picked up) is the gene responsible for T-Cell development, the + implies it makes it better at it's job somehow.

Side effects aren't listed, however.

Thanks, plan on adding the Rangers at a later point. They're technically the composition of all 3rd Company and are the only Company not allowed to wear the Guardsman's Sash, but rather a modified full-leather outfit for higher mobility. They also have moccasins and utilize crossbows and more survival-oriented equipment.

Tempted to, what with the Quarantine, but that means I have to find my old drawing pad and then reconnect it and that's a real hassle.

As for why I brought it up, you mentioned a drawing academy so I thought that was pretty neat.

History: For quite some time prior to the collapse after a battle of some sorts, many knew the end was coming. So they prepared for their children to be ready for when that time came and so they were. Those children survived for awhile, however not all were lucky enough to make it past the elements - or each other. It eventually came down to the point where the various families of the area were plagued with blood feuds. Eventually Shiloh Quinlain 'the Older', Fsorzina Medvednikov, Niamh MacMahon, and Ryan Jones came together to attempt to stop much of the fighting. But only managed peace among the heads of the former Marion County. Shiloh 'the Older' and Fsorzina Medvednikov had a child; Shiloh 'the Younger' who was then elected as King by the Kings of the Septs (clans that derive from the pre-collapse Quinlain family - not entirely truthful but that's the idea). Though their previous Captain died, they wouldn't just be giving up their dream of unifying the Willamette Valley and the rest of the Oregon even. So they decided to call themselves the Willamette Valley Roughnecks.
Culture: These Oregonians have high pride in their metal work, making reflective plates so that during the day they reflect the Sun - also they are proud with their swords, bodkin arrowhead and the like. Many also believe the All-Father (God) is King of the Sun, Jesus as King of the Earth, and Lucifer being the King of Mars - which destroyed the Earth in jealousy and will again one day far into the future. This kind of dynamic leads them to believe that one should control themselves and prevent scorning one another to be a good thing. Although they completely believe that killing each other and destroying their property in big disagreements to be generally justifiable (thus the massive amounts of blood feuds prior to marriages between a few of the clans).

Unclaimed land likely doesn't have enough of a population to collect industrial amounts of crop. People have farms for themselves.

NPC integration requires negotiation started via interaction. At which point I'll randomly generate the NPCs demeanor and basic culture. Basically how receptive they'd be.
