NPC FACTION UPDATE

The Tion Merchant Alliance

The Merchant Alliance is made up of several important families and corporation in the Tion Cluster among which are the planets Lianna, Chandaar, and Desevro. They are a substantial economy power sitting on the Perlemian Trade Route, they have merchants throughout the galaxy and a large well funded mercenary army and navy, more often than not they are able to pay off anyone that threatens them. They are loosely affiliated with as much competition internally as externally, but they united to combat external threats, diplomatically, militarily or financially.

So, now knowing there's a faction hiring mercs, I'm going to assemble my fleets and try to negotiate. I'll approach them before any outright hostilities, and propose they join me. I'll point out that any taxation I levy will be cheaper than an army and fleet of mercs, and they'll get even more protection than they could reasonably buy.

How would my offer fair OP? Will it be outright rejected, or require more negotiations, or an outright invasion of their territory?

Question for you Sao Nova Europa: What if a planet/system wants to join you, but flatly refuses to worship your leader as a god? Ya know, like, "We'll join you, remain loyal to your government, pay taxes, provide soldiers, etc., but he is not a god. He's a Force user!"

Also, we talked about potentially friendly relations. What if Frey refuses to pretend he thinks your guy is a god? Powerful? Yes. A god? Naw homie.
