President chooses all ministries, no way that’ll happen

I know, but it would definitely be funny in the end.

If there was an anti-indigenous opposition president, that might happen

Not really sure what to be, Social Democrat or classic Centrist-Liberal or as far as ministries go...

Well Vice Prez is still open, I know you’re a good RPer having met you before

On an unrelated note, I changed my mind, I can put up the IC even without the VP and Premier of the Assembly filled, those spots will be given to the first good app though

VP sounds like a nice, useless position that nothing will come from me unless El Presidente is somehow assassinated...

I would assume it’d be a Tafalla loyalist, probably someone younger poised to be a successor. He does carry out some executive actions that the president can assign to him

The National Government of El Cargotá

Name: Ambrosio Geraldo Walsh Ayala; goes by Ambrosio Walsh. Referred to as "Reagan" by the PDP for his known disdain of the Russian military advisory mission. The rank-and-file of the military commonly refer to him as "Comandante Walsh," at his requests. Personal friends know him as "Ambo."
Position in government: Chief of Staff, Cargota National Army.
Political Party: Currently not registered with a political party, but associates with Liberal politicans.
Race: Hispanic; Criollo Spanish with Irish roots.
Religion: Roman Catholicism.
Gender: Male.
Age: 55.
General Political Ideology: "The radical center."
Character intentions: "I've reached great heights already; I never thought I would occupy the office I am at, and this height suits me just fine. I have little desire or aspiration aside from serving out the final years of my career, and returning to my estate as a retired officer."

Biography: "My family has been on the continent since the 1700s, brought here by Spain. The Walshes, or at least my branch, came to this continent as professional soldiers of Spain, members of the Irish units under the Spanish Army. They served the Crown up until the War of Independence, in which our family truly began its service to the state. Every male Walsh, with a few exceptions, has served in the armed forces in some capacity. By no stretch is my family lauded for its service, but we do prefer the brevity in this regard."

"As for me, my story began at the ancestral estate of Nueva Jarama. I should keep my childhood brief. I spent much of it drifting from post to post, as my father kept his commission in the Army for the majority of my youth. My education came from military-administered schools from the age of nine, on until I graduated from high school. Upon graduation, I traveled to the United States on a student visa and attended Norwich University, a private military institute in the state of Vermont."

"These were in the days before Cargotan officers went to Frunze for their studies, when our military was aligned much along with that of the rest of the continent. I learned American doctrine by way of their ROTC programs; basic infantry tactics, leadership, command & planning, and the rest of the works. A good experience to say the least. I lived in the US for those four years. Good years. I even received my Airborne wings from the US Army."

"I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the National Army upon graduation, tasked with leading a platoon of the 5th Jungle Infantry Brigade. I was nowhere from being the best officer; my first platoon was a piece of work, and I had the categorically worst platoon sergeant in the whole of the Army. There was no enemy to fight, not in those early days, so discipline was always in short supply. I stuck it out in the jungle for two years, before I secured my way into the Paracommando Regiment."

"The premier infantry unit of the National Army, I had to attend their three-week Officer Selection course before they would admit me into the unit, and even after that, it was almost a full year before I got my first platoon. Paras aren't in the service for the pay; these young men share genuine pride for their nation. We participated in the low-intensity engagements with criminals that dominated the period from 1989 to 1993. Drug cartels from Colombia and Chile began establishing clandestine labs and airstrips in our jungles and killing whatever cops or civilians refused to accept their blood money, so we were sent in. I think I fired a total of one-hundred and twenty rounds during those years. That's how a good platoon leader works; you fire less, and make sure others fire more. We also deployed to Rwanda in '93, to evacuate the Embassy in Kigali, with much success and no engagements with either the Rwandan government or the rebels. I returned home, but soon after returned to the US for participation in their Ranger School."

"In 1994, I was seconded as a military observer with the MOMEP contingent in the disputed Cenepa region between Peru and Ecuador. I stayed in Quito for a year after that as an attache to our diplomatic mission there. Spent a lot of time drinking with personnel from the Irish mission, which was how I happened to meet Coleen Murphy, my wife. We dated for four months in Quito, and stayed fond even as we returned to our respective homelands. I stayed with her in 1995 on my first visit to Ireland, and our relationship became one of distance, but the love was clear."

"From 1996 to 2006, I would serve in the world of special operations. I was assigned a Company Commander billet in the Cargotan Rangers, and eventually became the commander of 3rd Battalion by the end of my field tenure. Much of what we did, being a of a nation that avoided much of the Cold War, consisted of training, both at home and abroad, and serving in peacekeeping operations. I served with the UNPREDEP in Macedonia, as well as in Haiti and with MONUSCO in the Congo. The last assignment was, by far, the closest I had come to cheating death on an almost weekly basis."

"In 2008, I was elevated to the rank of Colonel, and assumed command over the Paracommando Regiment. It was at the close of that year, that our transition in doctrine came to fruition. President Tafalla heralded in greater emphasis on our relationships with Russia and China. Like many other aspects, our military relationships increased. Russian advisors were now commonplace in our training camps and more Cargotan officers were going to Russian academies instead of the American military colleges, and the clashes in doctrine - between the Western style of us old timers, and the new Russian doctrines - couldn't have been more apparent. For some units, training continued as it had been dictated since the modernization in the 1990s. Other units traded their G3s for AK-103s, and their PASGTs for Ratnik."

"I spoke - and continue to speak - openly and freely regarding my feelings on the Russian involvement in our military. Has it earned me enemies? They have just as much of a right to speak their minds as I do. Thus far, I have not succeeded in provoking myself to be dismissed from the Army. In 2012, I celebrated my promotion to Brigadier General - possibly the youngest in our nation's history. I've occupied other posts since then - Inspector-General of the Army, Deputy Superintendent of the National Military Academy, and Commander of the Bartago Military District."

"Presently, I am Chief of Staff of the National Army. I have served in this capacity for approximately six months. Avoiding the inter-service rivalries is difficult, but I have done more than most Army Chiefs to promote joint-service interaction, especially in regards to national security and intelligence. There's always work to do; modernizing our motor pools, ensuring that our troops get the beans and bullets and body armor that they need, or purging the ranks of officers who have proven themselves unfit to dictate the direction of the lives of their troops. It's strenuous, but nothing that I cannot handle, as an officer of the National Army."

Looks great, you are accepted

1. Is President Tafalla going to run for another term?
2. Can we have a map of the country so we know where to campaign/where our chars are from?

1. Yes, he changed the constitution to do so. However, he’s quite old by now and might possibly have failing health in his second term, which would make the VP president if he won and resigned

2. On it, for now, I’ll just give you the basics. There’s three main regions, Andes, where the capital and most major cities are, a hilly zone between the Andean region and flatter land called the Estribaciones, where indigenous people are concentrated, and a flat agricultural region where most farming happens (as well as a few major cities)

Still working on the map, but I’ll give you list of major cities in each region
Andes
  • Bartago
  • Yarumina
  • El Ceca
  • La Cezón

Estribaciones
  • Ansegena
  • Colices
  • Macacará

Eastern Plains
  • Caitadó

So I assume there’s a bit of a divide between the Andeans and the more agrarian plain dwellers?
