Your character seems a bit engineered, like the whole "fuck indigenous people club" thing, it’s fine to have a bigoted character, the National Party will have many, but I think you should expand on his backstory a bit more and go a bit more in depth with your politics. He is now the seen now as the face of the National Party member and preparing to announce his run for presidency. He has a radical platform, combining hatred of indigenous people with an extreme free market approach.

His views include an extreme reduction of taxes and a near total abolition of the social safety net. On social issues, he supports the outlawing of abortion, the privatization of police forces and the mass deportation of Indigenous people. He is strongly against LGBTQ rights. He is against El Cargota growing close to any outside nation, neither the USA or Russia and China. If elected he would likely dispose of the position of Minister of Indigenous Affairs.

Though it wasn't a class or even an official team, Alberto and a few of his friends had grown enamored with hearing political debates on the radio, and began holding debates of their own. Alberto quickly developed a reputation for a calm demeanor, and an ability to bridge gaps and form compromises. He graduated near the top of his class. He went back home to help his father, but his father refused.

A newspaper ad lead to him applying to join a police academy in the capitol city. Here again, Alberto floated to the top of the pack. His mother cried as they pinned a shiny badge on his crisp green uniform, and so his career began. He was an effective officer. His ability to ingratiate himself with people helped to defuse tense situations, though he was not one to hesitate using his baton when the situation called for it. He married a pious woman, and they began fulfilling their marital duties quickly. 6 children, 4 girls and 2 boys, ensued.

Soon, he began Sergeant Garza, and then Lieutenant Garza, and then Captain Garza. It was at the rank of captain that he gained his nickname. A politically connected lieutenant had applied some pressure to try to make an investigation into one of his friends go away. A lawyer showed up to the captain's office, and politely explained why his client was obviously innocent and the police should stop leave him alone. Captain Garza nodded, politely saw the lawyer out, and within the month the friend had been indicted for wire fraud. He was like a bull in the ring: once he saw the red flag, not a thing in the world could stop him.

Though he would face some fallout for his pressing where it hurt, this could only slow his rise rather than derail it. Once the storm had calmed down he became Major Garza, and then Deputy Chief for Investigations Garza. Alberto had fully expected his career to have peaked. He knew that few men got as high as he did without serious political connections. None went higher. Now in his fifties, Alberto watched as the other Deputy Chief posts were filled by younger, ambitious men with college degrees. A mere high school graduate from the mountain villages, Alberto knew he had been blessed to make it high as he had.

But the Almighty was not finished blessing Alberto. When the top spot became vacant in 2014, Tafalla tapped him for the job. Though he was surprised by his promotion, he was widely seen as one of the only compromises the president made. A dark skinned mestizo without any higher education but decades of experience, he didn't smell of Elitist Technocrat the way most of the other options did. His staunch anti-corruption stance, tough-on-crime demeanor, and public Catholicism made him palatable to to the right. Keeping himself in the assembly and working his way up, he feels like he has a small name for himself as he feels like taking control of his destiny.

After school he joined the National Army as an infantryman, being particularly resentful of the indigenous man in his platoon. In a controversial event to this day, Eduardo claimed that the man attempted to deliberately shoot him during a live fire exercise. In a heavily publicized court martial trial, the Army jury voted in favor of Topo and the man was removed from the Army. To this day it is disputed if the case was legitimate or not. Topo left the Army as a Sergeant and attended college for free using his military benefits. He studied economics and graduated with a Masters Degree.

During his time in school he met his future wife, Regalina. They married after he graduated and he started a small store. However, government regulations became stricter and eventually the stress caused him to quit. it was now that he decided to run for political office, winning a seat in 2004. He has been in his seat since then, witnessing the surge of the People's Party and then their downfall in popularity in 2016. He was the leader of the revival of the National Party in 2016. He is now the seen now as the face of the National Party member and preparing to announce his run for presidency. In the eyes of Huanca-Hidalgo, equality can only be achieved if reparations for past discrimination are made.

As a result, Huanca-Hidalgo promotes a socialist agenda. Massive investments in infrastructure and education will be necessary, as well as land redistribution and better representation in the nation’s positions of power. The criminal justice system requires reforming as well, since it has long been an institution of oppression against the Quechua indigenous groups. Apart from purging systematic racism from the institution, she also seeks to promote investigations into baking fraud, organised drug crime and industrial pollution, since her own people have the most to lose from these forms of crime. She had her second breakdown a year in, forcing her to drop her work for the union. Again, she could taste the disapproval and the disappointment of her parents. When she got out of hospital (she had hurt herself during a vicious panic attack), she strove herself further again.

During the 80s, some Andes-bound indigenous separatists got into contact with the Soviet Union. In order to divert American attention to Latin America, the Soviets began funding these groups, both through funnelling of funds and by buying up drugs produced by these groups. These groups used those funds to buy weapons, either from the Soviet Union or from Colombian drug gangs. The entire Quechuan ethnicity was blamed by some circles, especially the nationalists, and a violent campaign of unofficial repression started. Police presence in majority-Quechua cities was increased, which led to an arms race between police forces and drug dealers, which the locals caught in the crossfire. The collapse of the Soviet Union stopped this violence, but police repression continued. The groups surrendered in the late 90s, with the government promising amnesty. However, in the early 2000s, the government started prosecuting former separatists, threatening them with capital punishment. Huanca-Hidalgo and her mother had to defend these people in court, something that did not garner them much popularity.

However, it did make them popular in the eyes of Quechuan indigenous groups. Based on this popularity, Huanca-Hidalgo became a talking head for indigenous groups in the late 2000s, promoting justice reform and indigenous problems. Overall this is good, but there are a few issues. This isn’t a parliamentary system, this is like the US, where the president is elected independent of the status of the legislature. The "coalitions" are only there to secure the position of Premier of the Assembly, which is like Speaker of the House in the US. As such, the president would likely stack up his cabinet of ministers with members of his own party, and the support of the indigenous front isn’t as crucial since they carry three seats in the Assembly right now.

It is possible that Tafalla would want indigenous people in his cabinet to pander to the voting bloc, but someone more in line with his own party, even though he would generally support her socialist ideals to an extent

Well yes, he relies on Front members voting for his legislation, but the alliance is mainly to win him the indigenous vote in presidential elections. Someone with her ideals could be appointed by Tafalla if only she was in the PDP and toned some of her ideas down
