The Anarcho-Syndicalist Commune wrote:Tarasque HQ, Beneath the Earth Justice Building
Nolan nodded to the two gentlemen. In his deep yet smooth voice, he responded "Of course you both will be well compensated for your time with us. The cybernetic arm is just the tip of the spear compared to how we can otherwise compensate you. Name it, and we can probably obtain it for you. As for the permanence of this employment, we won't keep you on doing missions forever no. As I'm sure Daichi noted, Tarasque is more of an insurance policy than it is an actual operating body at the moment. For the time being, our goals are aligned with that of this 'PTO'. That is, our primary objective is to bring Riker to justice before he does any more damage."
Suddenly alarms began blaring through out the facility. A mechanical voice said over the intercom "Breach in Sub-Lab 4, all authorized personnel to defense." Nolan sighed and pulled the head of his cane off, revealing it to be a rather bedazzled looking fire arm. Daichi meanwhile pressed some buttons on his wrist watch, causing armored gauntlets and a chest plate to come out of the wall and lock around his chest. Nolan sighed and said "Case in point. Gentlemen, that's our call."
The group proceeded through a long group of tunnels until they reached an area filled with shouting. Turning the corner, they found a large group of soldiers surrounding a small room set up like an isolation cell. The room's ceiling had apparently been blown in, and all entrances were being guarded by people with some kind of energy shield strapped to their arm. Daichi yelled "STOP!" as soon as he saw this.
Nolan turned and asked "What is the problem Sora?"
Daichi ran forward and made sure the soldiers stopped preparing the ordinance to blast down the shields. He turned back to Nolan and said with a concerned voice "I recognize the make of those shields. Lura Corps latest Hardlight developments."
"So? We do not lack the ordinance to break through them."
A tapping came from within the room on one of it's bulletproof windows. Inside stood the muscular form of Colonel Riker Nacht. The terrorist laughed into an intercom, his menacing voice bouncing off the nearby walls. "Ah but you see Nolan, Mr. Sora designed his facility in a very particular way so he could collapse it upon any of these sublab rooms should an experiment go... awry. A smart move by all means, but one that did not account for someone like me. As you can probably guess from our unorthodox method of entry..." Riker paused and pointed out the rather large hole his group had somehow blasted down into the facility. "... we have comprimised the stability of the chamber. So while you likely could break through our recently acquired toys or any of these walls, The ordinance required to do so would bring down the entire Justice building on top of you, but more importantly, not me. Am I incorrect Mr. Sora?"
Daichi sighed and said "... No... you are not."
Riker smiled and said "Good, I do enjoy it when a plan comes together."
Nolan walked forward and faced down Riker through the glass. "I simply must understand Riker. Why risk all of your resources, especially yourself, on a suicide mission like this. Surely you must know that you're about to have an entire building of soldiers and aliens pouring down on top of you?"
"Oh, I'm counting on it Castor. In any case, the why is this. As I'm sure you're all aware, Daichi here has known about the existence of extraterrestrials for some time now. Mostly thanks to this." Riker turned to reveal a Saiyan pod, now detached from whatever instruments had held it in place, with several cables attached to it to pull it up the hole. "This wonderful device you have preserved will... well, revolutionize my little rebellion."
Sounds came from above as a man appeared to fall down the hole. Just before he hit the bottom, fire burst out from his feet as he set down. As he stood up, those who had watched the world tournament would recognize him as being from the same sort of experiment as Flynt, though the work on this man was cleaner, more precise, and far less disturbing. The man dropped a body in front of Riker, that of Commander Jambola. He responded in a robotic voice "As you expected Commander, the PTO forces responded to the explosion and we terminated a large part of them, including this particularly annoying one."
Riker smiled and responded "Most excellent. Good work Prototype 2. Well gentlemen, this chat has been a pleasure, but I can't say I have time to dawdle. Have fun with your spy business, I expect that this will be the last time we see each other for some time." Riker attached himself to a nearby cable, and began to rappel up "Until we meet again Castor."
Prototype 2 and the Saiyan Pod followed the Colonel out of the hole, leaving only the rebels with energy shields. The soldiers waited for the rebels to drop their shields, so that they could rush into the lab. Before that could happen however, another deep rumbling filled the room, and a load of dirt and stoned dropped into the Sublab, filling the chamber and almost certainly killing the rebels within.
Nolan pushed his hair back and breathed out. "Well... looks like we have a new priority gentlemen."
A young man came running down the hall. Standing at attention in Castor's presence, he said calmly "Lord Commander, I came as quickly as I could."
Nolan shook his head and said "At ease Alex. Mr. Higashi, Mr. Jones, meet Alex Nolan, my younger son. You'll get to know him as Agent Orochi however. Daniel, I want you to take these two men and bring them to the armory, get them acquainted with our weaponry and have Mr. Jones fitted for a cybernetic arm. Mr. Higashi, Mr. Jones, I would love to continue negiotiating pay and employment period with you two, but I'm afraid we have far more pressing matters at hand. We are to conduct a worldwide manhunt for Colonel Nacht, and we will not stop until we have his head. If you would excuse me, I must begin coordinating this from the command center."
