Dragon Ball: Untold IC

Postby The Anarcho-Syndicalist Commune » Sat Mar 07, 2020 9:12 pm

Twenty years ago, things were good on the small planet known as Earth. Millions celebrated the birth of the third Global King, the fields were filled with crops, and life was good for a great many Earthlings. In response to these good times, in order to provide continuous entertainment for his people, the King founded the Tenkaichi Budokai, or World Martial Arts Tournament, which was to be held every four years. As hundreds of thousands gathered to watch the first Tournament, in three other places around the globe, three ships fell to Earth, each of them carrying within them a baby. These children were the tailed spawn of Planet Sadala, the homeworld of the proud and honorable Saiyan warrior race.

Meanwhile, across the galaxy, on Planet Sadala itself, chaos reigned. Outraged by generations of oppression, mistreatment, and the apparent subservience of their king to the Planet Trade Organization, the Saiyan people had risen up in rebellion. All across Sadala, Cities burned, palaces were looted, and the King and his loyal aristocratic families were forced to flee off world into the safety of the PTO fleet. In his anger and retaliation, the Saiyan King decided to literally scorch Sadala from the face of the galaxy, and did exactly that. In a matter of minutes the Saiyan race was reduced from a population of billions to being one of the rarest species in the Galaxy.

At yet another corner of the Galaxy, on Station Alpha, a new Galactic Emperor was crowned. Lord Kalt succeeded his mother as the ruler of the PTO and by proxy the galaxy. A powerful but cocky warrior, Kalt established his place as the head of the PTO with realitive ease and brought any worlds who dared rebel back under his rule with ruthless efficiency. Still, Kalt was not cruel by nature, and most of the galaxy looked primed to prosper under his rule.

Two decades passed, the Galaxy experienced a period of peace, and Earth prospered, unaware of the universe in the stars beyond them. Due to their sudden drop in population and the general high level of the survivors, a bit of an arms race broke out among the various lords and ladies of the PTO for the loyalty of the various remaining Saiyans. Lord Kalt, who was already an older Arcosian when he took over the PTO, began to show the burdens of rule. He had seen centuries pass in his life, and now, he could feel his life crawling to a close. On close to the Twentieth anniversary of his coronation, Kalt passed away peacefully in his sleep, having never named an official heir. With no designated heir, Kalt's various siblings, children, nieces and nephews began to bicker over who should take his seat. Bickering turned to arguments, arguments turned to fights, and before long the fights had escalated to a galaxy teetering on the edge of Civil War. In this tense and rapidly escalating enviroment, one of the various factions of the Civil War sent one of their general's to Earth to find and recruit the three Saiyans who had been sent there all those years ago, along with any Earthlings who proved strong enough to contend with their slaughter. Meanwhile on Earth, the people rejoiced and eagerly awaited the 5th Tenkaichi Budokai.

Danuja

The day began simple enough for Danuja. She awoke in her hotel room after a good nights sleep. Ordering a small but healthy breakfast of fruit from the Hotel's staff, she took a moment to look out at the Papaya Islands from her balcony. The Champion's Hotel was one of the fanciest facilities on the planet, filled with every single kind of staff member imaginable. Each floor was a suite dedicated to the fighters who had already qualified for the Tournament. Danuja had managed to come out on top in a regional tournament, and as such was given a room in the hotel. She had spent her time staying there putting in training in the extensive facilitie's each fighter was given access to before the tournament. Though she wouldn't have to stay for the qualifying matchs today that opened the Tournament, she would have to be present for the opening ceremony that all fighters must be present for so that they could greet the King and hear the opening speech, supposedly by the King's granddaughter this tourney.

Danuja ran down the stairs after eating her breakfast in her room. She was wearing her fighting cloths, a simple red gi with a blue under shirt. Her personal kanji was sewn onto the chest and back of the outfit. Stepping out of the hotel into the bright tropical sun, she smiled, looking forward to watching some good fights and putting in some training that day. She realized at that moment that she was running a bit late, and sprinted off towards the stadium. After being chastised by a few tournament organizers for a bit, she was led out into the main area of the World Arena.

The Arena was one of the most impressive feats of architecture in history. It could seat 100,000 people comfortably within it's soaring stands. Atop the stands stood grand statues of the previous four victors, each with an arm out, welcoming new fighters to the Arena. Most of the arena floor was taken up by several equal match squares. Each of these squares could be altered to become several different environments with their own hazards and trials. In the center of the Arena however, rising atop a pyramid that helped designate its significance, was the main stage. There was no theatrics or mechanics when it came to the main fights of the tournament. It was a simple all out brawl, victory only coming through knock-out, submission, or ring-out. The fighters were slowly assembling in the part of the arena in front of the large royal box, which took up a small portion of the stands on the Arena's north side. Besides Danuja, 23 other fighters were in the tournament this year, eight of which would be eliminated in matches taking place today. After today, tomorrow would be the main spectacle of the arena, as the ultimate fighter among those qualified would prove themselves from among the group. Then, on the third day, as the main show among other more exhibition match, would be the grand finale, in which the chosen contestant would fight the reigning champ for the tournament title.

That was all in the future however. For the moment, all attention was directed towards a small podium in the center stage, where in a few moments, the Princess would make her opening speech.

Planet Glacia 24601
North-eastern Quadrant

The small pod moved at an impressive 300,000 kilometres a second as it raced through the vacuum of space and towards the icy world. Its speed did not abate as it entered the planet's atmosphere and the pod moved halfway across the circumference of the planet before it reached the citadel. Only then did it suddenly stop, seemingly ignoring all known human laws of physics, and descended slowly on a small launch pad.

From the pod emerged General Spicer, one of the few last members of the near-extinct Saiyan race. The general was greeted by a reptilian xeno, who addressed the Saiyan with a bow.

"Welcome back, General. I pray that all was well?"

Spicer didn't answer at first but walked passed the soldier with mild disinterest.

"It went well," he said simply. "The Arlians were a primitive people, but put up some slight resistance." Spicer stopped for a moment. "After I razed a city, their king submitted to Glacia's rule."

"Most excellent, Lady Glacia will be most pleased. She wishes to see you immediately."

Spicer wasted no time making his way to the central part of the citadel, where his lady's throne room and command centre lay. Glacia was not a being who liked to be kept waiting, and Spicer was in no mood to upset his mistress. In the centre of the room, on a raised platform, sat Glacia herself. It had been a little over a month since her uncle's death, and Glacia--like the other members of her family--were bidding their time, waiting for the first move. Glacia had been reading a report when Spicer came in, but as the general walked forward the diminutive alien's tail twitched and moved with poignant interest. Spicer genuflected with marked reverence.

"My Lady, I have returned. What is your command?"

"Well met, General Spicer," she said in an airy voice. It lacked any sort of menace and sounded almost melodious and tinged with familiarity and fondness. "I understand you must be tired, and I apologise, but I have a new mission for you."

The Saiyan warrior stood and shook his head.

"Nothing pleases me more than to serve you, my Lady. I accept this mission." Glacia smiled at Spicer's remarks, almost sadly, as she explained why she called him in.

"I have been going over some old records my uncle left me. Buried in them was a curious mention of a trio of Saiyan pods, jettisoned nearly twenty years ago, to a small planet." Spicer's eyes grew wide.

"Twenty years ago would place them near Salada's destruction."

"Yes, on the very eve of the cataclysm, in fact, and the very last ones sent out. In the chaos, they were likely forgotten about. They were sent to a small, backwards planet between near the border with the North-western Quadrant. It's believed to have been a fairly weak planet, but since Salada's destruction contact was lost with the pods. It is likely that our trio is ruling there as we speak if there haven't wiped the natives out or killed themselves in combat. I want you to take a small force and make contact with them; they could prove valuable allies."

"And if they refuse?" Spicer asked with some concern. One Saiyan was a threat; three could be a nightmare. Glacia merely shrugged.

"Convince them," she said with a toothy grin and mischievous look in her eyes. "There are far darker forces in the galaxy, after all, and we need as much help as we can muster. It will take you about a month to reach there."

"Then I shall leave immediately," Spicer said with a salute as he turned to exit the throne room.

Ikki Kita, defender of Earth!

Today was a lot of firsts. It was the first time Ikki travelled so far away from the place he could call home. It was also the first time he's gotten to experience weather so warm and the sun so bright overhead. It was also the first time he's gotten to see so many people in a single place. Dear lord, there was a lot of people here. The arena was overwhelmingly vast, larger than an entire village, and adorned with statues of former champions, and yet it was still chock full of people awaiting the announcement speech in the opening ceremony.

Needless to say, Ikki did not even try mingling among the crowd and getting closer to the center stage. It was still a struggle to get over just how mind-boggingly different all of this way, as if he's stepped into an entirely different planet. So, he instead retreated to the corner, away from the main mass of people, and stared at the empty podium from a far. At least he wasn't completely alone. His adoptive father, old man Kita, had no issue with staying away from the crowds, if at least so he wouldn't get noticed by the numerous people he still had issue with.

It's been thirty years since he left West City to live disgraced in the mountains of the north, and he's genetically modified himself to hide his aging appearance, but Kita nevertheless figured that it wasn't safe for him to appear in public, at least not yet. Not while he hasn't completed everything he's planned to complete away from the prying eyes of society...

The man had a bit of paranoia sometimes.

The old man turned towards his adoptive son, raising his eyebrow and speaking:

"Ikki, what do you see up there?"

The black-haired man had been staring at the sky for a good minute now. His adoptive father's words did not get him to look away, but he nonetheless spoke:

"...Nothing. Just this... unshakeable feeling... that something's not right."

"Gut feeling is not a scientifically measurable phenomenon, Ikki. Don't worry over whatever it is."

Ovan

So this is the World Tournament? Ovan thought as he gathered with the other warriors. The majority of whom didn't look like much. There were maybe four or five who actually looked like they would put up a fight. He analysed those whom he got a strange feeling from while he impatiently waited for the princess to come out and make her speech so he could get right to the fun part. Sure, it was mostly going to be exhibition matches, but anything he could learn or see if he had anything to worry about.

While he waited, he made his way over to the snack stand, buying a soda that he sipped on while looking around. He felt that they needed to make the level of entry for the tournament a bit higher. As of the current moment it was far too low. Nobody was going to enjoy watching a few idiots throw heavily telegraphed punches at each other. Or maybe they would. He shrugged at the thought and looked around until he spotted someone staring at the sky next to some weird guy with pink hair. He glanced up at the sky, not seeing anything out of the ordinary. Some clouds, the sun which he shielded his eyes from and looked back at the pair.

"What're ya staring at?" He asked

Ikki Kita, defender of Earth!

It did not take long for Ikki to experience the worst thing he anticipated to happen today. Social interaction. Turns out him staring into the sky got the attention of a nearby man, somewhat older than him, with a spiky white haircut in the shape of a V - he too took a look at the sky, saw nothing and turned to Ikki to ask what was going on.

Ikki turned back at the man, blinked, then glanced back to his adoptive father. Old Man Kita chose to stay out of the conversation, though - why not give the young man a chance to have a normal conversation for the first time in his life?

"Um, nothing... Well, technically it's not nothing, there's the sky and clouds there, so I guess I'm not actually staring at nothing - but but it's basically nothing in that there's actually nothing of substance up there and all and, well..." Ikki began to blurt out while scratching the back of his head, trying to find a way how to end the increasingly incomprehensible sentence and yet finding no way out of the mess. "Sorry, um, nothing, nothing is what I'm staring at, yeah."

Ikki shifted his eyes to the side, before bringing up something else. "You, uh... competing here?"

Amid the first dry winds of Summer, the Global King of Earth, Hyperion the Third, Supreme Commander of the Earth and her moon, defender of the house of Avernus, Kami appointed representative on Earth, organised a grand tournament to be held in honour of the prosperity that could felt world-wide, a tournament which would bring in the best fighters from all four corners of the world to face in ritual combat amongst millions of viewers.

On the first morning, the King along with the most prominent members of his house were escorted out of their fine hotels and brought into the tournament grounds, in luxurious limousines with tinted black windows made of bulletproof glass, a horde of photographers lined the entrance looking to get a shot royals before they would vanish to the booths until the start of the tournament. His royal house would fill out one by one, starting with him and his lovely wife, sixty-year-olds the both of them but they wore their age with pride. His Grecian style beard was coated with more silver strands than red reflected the flashes of light from the cameras, his tonearm built up from years and year of military service extended for his wife to loop her arm around his delicately, the fabric of her silver elbow-length gloves creased against his blue blazer. The shared a brief glance and a smile between each other before walking down the red-carp leading inside of the tournament area.

Once the Global King and Queen had moved some distance from the limousine, they would be followed by a young woman who bore a striking resemblance to the Queen. The flashing lights reflected off her blonde waist-length, neatly styled hair which was kept in place by a rose-tinted bow. She stood to her full height on the carpet, form-fitted dress flowed down towards the ground hiding her heels which clicked audibly as she moved with the grace of swan from the limo.

This was Princess Serena who despite her regal stoicism was exceptionally anxious. There were royal duties that she had been made to attend when she was younger, but never before was she expected to act like a working royal like her parents or uncles and aunts, until now. The fifth Tenkaichi Budokai tournament required a tribute to be given to the man who had started it all, her grandfather, and being heir apparent there was no one more appropriate, more capable than she for the role. In the eyes of her grandfather, that was, her aunts and uncles and cousins all were brought up in various courts around the globe, they learnt to handle the media and public roles, she and her brothers hadn’t because they were to given the chance to live “normal” lives by their parents before their untimely demise. She wasn’t ready, and didn’t even know if she ever would be ready, for something like this, but she couldn’t very well say no to her Grandfather, she was his heir and representative and as such she would ignore her reservations and focus on getting through it.

One by one they filed into the booth, her grandfather and grandmother claiming their spots on a pair of throne-like seats set out in the centre, before them and adjusted at lower levels were rows of seats for all the working members of the royal household. She refrained from sitting, instead, she moved to the window and peered out, hearing the muffled conversation of the others behind her, out of the corner of her eyes she could see her two brothers subtlety as to avoid the iron gaze of their grandfather and she smiled. Her lips quirked back at her as it reflected in the window mirror. She just needed to think of her brothers for when they call her down to give the speech and all would be good.

Well the guy stammered out a response, all but saying he didn't really know what he was looking at. It dawned on him that he was probably just nervous. "Nervous? I get that. There's a lot of people here, and they're all pining after that huge cash prize. Unfortunately, they're not going to get it." He said, a mix of excitement and arrogance in his voice.

"It's mine." He started again, his tone having switched a matter of fact. "That being said, I hope we to fight. I'd get that nervousness under control first. I realize that giving a potential opponent some advice is probably not the best idea from a tactic standpoint, but if we do fight, I want you to come at me with everything you have. You can't do that if you overthinking. It'll slow you down." As the two were talking, he noted that unlike everyone else around them, the man with the pink hair hadn't moved. Which confirmed at least to him that they were together.

"So who're you? You don't look like a competitor. you his dad or something?"

One Month Later
The Sol System, near the North-East and North-West Quadrant border

The disc-shaped personal ship of General Spicer sped through space at incredible speeds. It had been about a month since his departure from Planet Glacia 24601, and Spicer and his hundreds of soldiers were itching to reach their destination. Spicer emerged from one of the many training rooms on the vessel when a soldier approached and saluted his commander.

"Sir, we have entered the Sol system and are approaching the third planet from their star." Spicer dismissed the soldier as he returned to his quarters, freshened up, and emerged suited for combat at the control centre.

"What is the situation, captain?" Spicer asked as he approached the main console, his arms folded behind his back. The Saiyan warrior's tail twitched nervously before it wrapped around his waist, like a belt.

"The ship is nearing the planet's atmosphere. Our Scouters read that the majority of the planet is inhabited by low-level creatures, but there is a confluence of higher power levels near the planet's largest city."

"Our Saiyans must be ruling from there," Spicer concluded with a nod. "We'll make our approach there."

"As you desire, my Lord." The captain ordered the ship towards the planet, and specifically, West City.

She was removed from the royal box soon after her arrival to be escorted down to the area where the fighters had all been assembled. She would briefly interact with several, wishing them the best of luck in the competition before been ushered further to the gateway to the stage. She inhaled a deep breath and clasped her hands together as she waited to be carried out to carry out her very first royal engagement. In front of not just the thousands of people in the stadium but the millions who were watching in on television screens.

The International Anthem began to play from the overhead speakers and she knew then that it was time. She moved with the regal grace expected of her, and took to the stages to see the crowd had mostly stood to their feet. A screen displaying those who currently remained in the royal box, showed that many of the Senior royals had also stood, though her Grandfather and mother remained seated on their thrones. Kami Save The King Blared over the speakers, for several moments, finishing just as she found herself centre stage.

There was a moment of silence, before the tournament announces came to the stage, and while she needed no introduction, read out her titles and introduced her to the crowd. He’d hand her his microphone and took several steps back to ensure that he was no longer in her spotlight, though she admittedly wishes he hadn’t.

“Welcome citizens of Earth to the 5th Tenkaichi Budokai,” She began and would wait until the applauses and cheers died down. “ As the representative of House Avernus and heir apparent to….” She would give her speech flawless, for the most part, that is, stumbling briefly due to a forgotten phrase and later a miss titling of one of the Tournament’s donor names, though the audience at least seems to take it in jest.

Once she was done, she handed the microphone back to the tournament announcer and was escorted back to the room where all the fighters stood waiting. Instead of being brought back to the royal box, as she expected, she was informed that she would need to wait around to congrats the winners of the first matching, which she found to be a tedious idea, but did not vocalise her complaints. .

Ikki Kita, defender of Earth!

The white haired man did not hesitate to declare that not only was he competing, he was here to win. Large prizes were involved and the man was convinced that nobody else was going to clinch that prize but him - despite that, however, he also added that he was looking forward to facing off against Ikki. As long as he stops acting so nervous.

"Sorry, this is kind of a new experience to me..." the young man spoke back, scratching the back of his head. "I'm not as much of a mess in fighting, don't worry, I just don't get to talk to others a lot... My name's Ikki, by the way."

As soon as he got addressed, old man Kita struck a faint smirk and nodded. "I suppose 'his dad' is one way to put it. No, I'm too old and weak to be competing." He ignored the fact that he looked almost as youthful as the man speaking to him. "The thought did cross me when I attended this tournament the first time... but I never figured it was going to become a regular thing."

Ikki leaned forward, peeking over the crowd after noticing that something was going on in the center of the arena. The royal family of Earth has arrived, and one of their scions stepped onto the stage to announce the beginning of the tournament. She was Princess Serena, and yet, as famous as she and her family were, Ikki hadn't heard of them before arriving to Papaya Island.

A slight smile formed on his face as he watched the girl speak.

"...wow."

Sora Danuja

Danuja watched as the princess gave her speech. Growing up rich in the Capital, Danuja had met the Princess a few times in her life, though never more than enough to call her anything more than an acquaintance. As the Princess moved down to mingle among the fighters at the base of the stadium, Danuja began to get a weird feeling in her gut. She looked up at the top of the main event pyramid, where the grand announcer had taken over from Princess Serena. Testing the mic a few times to ensure it was continuing to work, he held it up to his mouth and spoke loudly but clearly into it "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, BOYS AND GIRLS, LET'S GET READY TO RUUUUUUUUUUUU-"

Explosions cut off the announcer as around the stadium low grade bombs went off, carving a moat around the tournament field and revealing the understadium below. Before the screams could start, more explosions rocked the city around the stadium, smoke flying into the air seemingly miles off in the distance. Then, as some form of sick grand finale, the Royal Box went from grand and regal to an inferno of red flame. Black smoke coursed out of the spot where the royal family had sat mere moments before. Then the screams started. Panic overtook the crowd. The cacophany of terror masked the sound of a lone helicopter flying into the arena. As the chopper made it's landing atop the match pyramid, several grappling hooks emerged from the moat that had been dug around the arena floor. Several men dressed in a motley of getups assembled from military wear climbed out of the hole. Some held guns while others seemed to be versed in Martial Arts like the fighters.

Out of the chopper stepped a large man. He wore combat boots, a pair of faded black fatigues on his pants, a white tanktop, and a thick bomber jacket. On his head he wore a torn up military dress hat. Drawing a pistol from his belt, he offed the referee before picking up the microphone. "Citizens of Earth, hear me now, and listen." The chaos in the crowds did not cease. The man seemed unperturbed. He reholstered his pistol, took out a small device and pressed a button on it. Another bomb went off, this time destroying one of the champion statues above them. He said, more forcefully this time, in a growling rasp of a voice that sound like metal being sheared "I SAID LISTEN." The stadium fell silent.

"Good people of Earth, my name is Riker J. Nacht. Many of you may know me by another name, after the media dubbed me Colonel Chaos after my supposed mutiny from the Global Armed Forces. Many have speculated on my goals in that time, and I come to you today to give you them! Do not be afraid good people, for my quarrel is not with you. It is with the cowardly aristocracy that hides in the Capital and forces us to fight each other, to scrounge for scraps. Today, I come to you not as an enemy, not as a terrorist. Today, I bring you freedom! Go, do what you desire, there is no government anymore. Today the people of Earth are free for the first time in a century. I will not stop you, nor will my men. I hope you enjoy your gift as much as I have enjoyed giving it to you. And should any of you wish to give it to the rest of the planet, then help us fight and end what remains of the regime. That choice is yours. Until we meet again, citizens of Earth."

The man got back aboard his helicopter, and with a final word said "Oh, and if any of the fighters down there disagree with my motives, well, allow me to introduce you to Flynt" A final grappling was tossed over the edge of the moat. A large man with what appeared to be a variety of tubes, metal, and wires snaking in and out of his body in some form of a crude exosuit climbed out of the pit. Riker continued "As you can see, he's been outfitted with the very latest in bio-mechanical upgrades. In other words, he's made you obsolete. Observe if you would."

Flynt rushed forward and grabbed the Princess around her neck, pointing his fingers towards her head. Riker laughed and said "Good luck warriors." before he tossed the mic aside and took off in his helicopter once again. The crowd began to panic once again. Danuja looked behind herself and saw two mooks rushing her with what appeared to be stun batons. She took the first one down with a quick punch to the face, before blocking an attack from the second one and feeling the volts course through her. Shaking it off, she took down the other mook with a punch. Danuja felt the unfamiliar but distinct feeling of bullets bouncing off of her body. Some less trained fighters fell to the ground as they got hit. Without a word, Danuja charged the gunmen, trying to stop the hail before this went from... well it was already pretty much the worst it could be.

Earth, the Sol System

Spicer's spaceship entered the Earth's atmosphere and headed towards the confluence of power levels detected. The reports Glacia provided indicated that this planet was somewhat backwards, and Spicer agreed with those reports. They encountered few artificial satellites and so far no advanced aeronautical devices.

"And cut off from the PTO, our Saiyans would have had little ability to develop our level of sophistication," the ship's captain indicated.

"Yes, these people are barely space-faring, but they have the potential. They will make valuable assets to Our Lady," Spicer replied with a nod as they moved at hypersonic speeds towards West City. The ship came to rest above the concentration of high power levels, well beyond the field of vision of the citizens below.

"What is the situation on the ground, captain?" Spicer inquired. A team of technicians were busy bringing up a screen of the city below.

"It appears that the natives are holding some sort of festival," he reasoned from the images. "We don't have any images from the Saiyans, but there is a booth that seems reserved from their royalty or dignitaries."

"The Saiyans would be there, then," Spicer said. "I shall make my way there and--"

"Wait," the Captain interjected as a series of explosions altered the images on the screen. "Something is happening down below." The scene of the rebellion created a minor panic on the ship as the soldiers and technicians scrambled to assess what was going on.

"Can we get any sound?" Spicer barked as he crossed his arms. The science team worked for a few minutes and was able to pick up a rattling voice."

The media...zztzz..Colonel Chaos....ztzz...mutiny from the Global Armed Forces...zzzttzzz...the cowardly aristocracy that hides in the Capital and ...zzzztttzzzzz." The voices were drowned out by a combination of static and the sounds of chaos from down below, but the images of the attack were clear, and the young woman being taken captive was someone of importance to the natives. Spicer frowned. He did not like whatever was going on."

"Keep the soldiers on standby," he said to the captain as he outfitted his scouter. "I'm going down to see what this is all about." Spicer didn't bother waiting for a reply, as the Saiyan was nearly out of the command centre by the time the captain realised what was happening. The top hatch of the spaceship opened on his command, and Spicer flew out into the Earth's sky. He activated his scouter and it pointed to the largest power source in the area: the mechanical insurgent who held Serena captive.

"5,000," he said with a bit of a smile. "I'm almost impressed that they have natives that powerful. Well, looks like I'll have to go all out on this one." With supersonic speed, Spicer flew down to the stadium and landed next to Flynt and grabbed the cybernetically enhanced human's wrist and squeezed.

"I suggest you let her go," he sternly said. "And if you don't, I will destroy you."

"Yeah, I get that. You'll get over it pretty quick." Ovan replied as the smaller man introduced himself as Ikki. "Ikki eh? My name's Ovan." He said and the pink hair man, Ikki's "father", introduced himself. He admitted that he was far too old to compete, and did so when he was younger. Ovan had his doubts about the man's claim to being his father, as there seemed to be pretty much no resemblance whatsoever, but he felt like holding his tongue on that matter was for the best. It wasn't his business. "Well, good to meet you both."

Just as he finished, the royals made their appearance, with the Princess giving out a speech to thank everyone for coming and blah blah blah. He never cared for all that stuff and was just there for the fun part. However, Ikki looked a little more star struck. Was he really that sheltered? It wasn't anything you couldn't see on TV. It didn't take long for things to go horribly, horribly awry. Explosions rattled the arena, and even around the city. Instinctively, he readied for a fight. Whatever nutjob decided to attack the world tournament and kill a bunch of innocent people was going to get it.

He was going to get into a fight no matter what. The good news was that he didn't have to wait too long for the attackers to make themselves known. Some blowhard calling himself Riker J. Nacht. He didn't get much of what he was saying, but introduced some... It was a machine man, Flynt as Riker said, insisting that if they disagreed with him, they would meet Flynt, who apparently was augmented to high hell with all kinda of stuff Ovan knew nothing about. Riker was practically challenging them and Ovan wasn't about to leave with blue balls.

Troops that Riker had hired swarmed all around the arena. Ovan didn't have any desire to deal with the fodder. One of the explosions had destroyed the royal booth, and he even thought he saw a man fly into the now destroyed booth. Whatever was going on, there was the epicenter of it and he needed to be there. Just as he was about to make the jump into the stands and sprint towards the booth, he caught a glint of the reflection of the sun and ducked, narrowly avoiding a stun baton to the head. "Oh?" Ovan said, looking at the trooper.

"I see you looking up there. You want up there, you're going through me!" He said, swinging his baton again, only for Ovan to catch his wrist.

"Hmm. There's an iota of strength in you... But I do have to go through you." He spun the man around, grabbed the back of his head and slammed his head into the arena floor. The ground shattering from the impact, as well as the man's helmet. "Don't skip out on your training." He said, jumping into the stands and bolting straight towards the booth.

Ikki Kita, defender of Earth!

In a flash of light, what should have been just an ordinary tournament ended up turned inside out. Explosions rolled across the entire island, the stadium and the city alike, sparking fear and terror among the thousands of attending spectators, even the place where the Royal Family sat was suddenly engulfed in flame and smoke. Ikki's heart began to race instantly, thousands of thoughts rushed across his head - what was going on, who was attacking them, what happened to that pretty princess, and what can he do to put a stop to all of this, right now?

Before the young Saiyan could even step forward, his adoptive father's cane suddenly stuck out in front of him, stopping Ikki in his tracks. A helicopter landed in the heart of the arena and let out a man in casual looking army get-up, all while dozens upon dozens of armed soldiers stormed into the grounds. After activating a few more bombs to draw everyone's attention to him, the man introduced himself as Riker Nacht, or Colonel Chaos, declared an end to the government of Eath, and called forth a man named Flynt, a rather monstrous bio-mechanical contraption which Riker announced to be superior to any martial artist in this entire island, if not the whole planet. He's made them obsolete.

Ikki's eyes briefly turned towards Old Man Kita. His eyes were obscured by his hat and glared at the self-declared liberator of Earth from shadows, teeth clenched - before he gushed out a few words:

"That was supposed to be my line."

He raised his cane and tapped the floor with its sharp end, activating a holographic display from the handle of the device. Ovan had bolted off already, crushing soldiers in his way while blitzing at the biomechanical contraption, which got several more soldiers to turn at the place where the white haired man had come from, where they found the duo standing and watching the scene unfold. One goon lunged forth with a stun baton, other trained their assault rifles upon them, only to witness Ikki blitz straight ahead. With a single blow to the chest, the stun-wielding soldier got blasted off instantly. In tandem with his foster father, who popped off the handle of the cane to reveal a hand cannon, the Saiyan charged up two energy blasts, opening fire in unison and blasting the remaining soldiers away.

"Go, do what you need to do, Ikki. I'll be fine." the purple-haired scientist spoke up as he screwed his cane back in. Ikki did not need a word more - he instantly lunged into the panicking crowds, speeding through towards the center of the arena. Ovan and... someone were already tackling Flynt, but nobody was making sure that the bystanders and the Royal Family - if any of them, besides Princess Serena, were even still alive - were safe in the chaos. Ikki noted that down as his first and most important task. Old Man Kita, meanwhile, began to approach the ensuing battle, keeping his distance, but never letting Flynt get out of his sight.

"You two! Keep that thing alive, I want to know exactly what made mister Nacht think he's managed to turn my son obsolete."

Serena, The Princess of Earth

Everything happened so fast, she wasn’t even given time to process the rampant chaos that engulfs the entire tournament grounds before she had some rebel grabbing at her throat, she struggled for air, so thrown off that she couldn’t muster the strength to summon her later magic energies. That is until someone else entered the fray, lessening the grip around her throat enough for her to summon her telekinesis to force her attacker to release complete hold on her.

She stumbled backwards, clutching her throat, which she was sure would later have bruises on its surface from such rough handling, and stared wide eyes at both her attacker and her saviour. What in the world was going on here? Why were military men attacking them? It didn’t mean sense, especially not when everything had been so prosperous, so peacefully, for several decades.

She needed answers, and she wanted them now. Her eyes take on a faint greenish glow as she pushed both hands forward and willed all her magic towards her assailant, intent on pinning him against the wall away from her or her saviour. She didn’t even think to look over to the Royal Box or bear witness to the sheer destruction the explosions had wrought. She would deal with that turmoil later.

Danuja

More stun batons hit her. Now they were making her angry. Punching another one of the goons in the face, she shattered his helmet, knocking him to the floor. Kicking the man aside so he wouldn't get hurt in further fights, she ripped a pistol out of another man's hands and kicked him back into the underarena, trusting that his grapple line would catch him. Cracking her shoulders, Danuja continued to work through the mob of goons, trusting someone else to handle both the crowd and the monstrosity that had grabbed the princess.

Flynt

The monstrosity that had been a man grinned as his leader flew away. He wasn't really expecting a challenge, just blowing up the princess once someone made a move, and then cleaning up. That was before someone new blasted out of nowhere, grabbing his wrist. Before he could react, the princess pulled some trickery to work her way out of his grip. Flynt also detected two other signatures closing on him fast.

A small machine appeared from out of his shoulder, swiveled around a bit, before taking two blasts at Kita and Ovan as they approached. These were pure laser beams, not made of Ki, but born of the dark mechanics that had apparently created the machine before them. Flynt was unable to acknowledge if he had scored hits or not before he was unceremoniously sent flying back into a wall by an unknown force. The various mechanics in his body hissed as he strained against the force to move forward. His hands fell off of each wrist to reveal a blade on one arm and what could be surmised to be a blaster on the other one. Underneath the man's feet, a pair of rockets burst to life as he launched himself at the man who had interrupted him, trying to stab the newcomer with his blade.

Earth, the Sol System

Spicer's attempted apprehension of the semi-mechanical warrior had some positive effect--the young woman was able to free herself with some form of energy, unlike anything the Saiyan warrior had seen. She was not a Saiyan, that much was certain from the colour of her hair and the ability she showed, but whatever she was, Serena impressed Spicer.

She's something else, huh? I didn't know the natives of this planet had that kind of power, and perhaps Lady Glacia didn't know either.

Still, Spicer had little time to analyse the situation as the man materialised a weapon from his back and fired shot off, not at Spicer but at two others who were approaching. In a short while, he moved to attack Spicer as artificial attachments propelled the cyborg towards the Saiyan with a bladed weapon. Spicer raised his left arm and took the blow. The man attacked with tremendous force and the blade pierced the Saiyan's skin--blood dripped out of the wound and onto both the knife and the floor below.

The alien warrior smiled.

"Well, you're certainly living up to your power level," Spicer told Flynt as the Saiyan placed his right palm against the cyborg's chest. "Let's test your endurance," he continued as he fired as he fried into the mechanical monstrosity's body.

Ikki Kita, defender of Earth!

By the time Ikki got to the heart of the battle, the situation had already changed, and significantly so. Princess Serena managed to free herself with a mysterious force and used the exact same force to slam Flynt into a wall. Though it only delayed the biomechanical warrior, he was being kept at bay by a mysterious warrior who looked out of place compared to everyone else. His armor looked more like something you'd see in a history book about the Middle Ages...

And he wields way more Kita force than anyone realistically could. Old Man Kita thought to himself, moments before a set of laser beams suddenly whizzed towards him and Ovan. The scientist reacted immediately, pressing the holographic display of his cane to summon a force field around himself - as soon as the laser collided with it, a brief discharge of energy rolled around him before receding. Though the man was left mostly unscathed, it was too close of a shot for him to stay in open view from the battle. The scientist began to step back, mingling within the hundreds of frightened civilians fleeing from the arena in the midst of the battle.

Ikki stood in front of Serena, just in case Flynt had any more ideas, and clenched his fists. Cracks and bolts of light blue ki began to fly around him, all of the strength bottled within him got drawn out in a matter of seconds. The mysterious armored warrior was taking on Flynt from up close, using his own ki to try burning into the biomechanical warrior's chest - no better time to join in. Ikki leaned in preparation, then suddenly burst forward with superhuman speed, leaping across the air and sending a full force punch at Flynt's cheek.

Old Man Kita offered one more glance towards the battlefield - only then, viewing the clash from a different angle, did he notice something... important.

"Is that man with a tail?.."

Serena, The Princess of Earth

Her saviour seemed to be a rather capable warrior as he hurried back into battle with speed that exceeded anything she had ever witnessed. She was out of her league for sure, she wasn’t combat trained outside of the magic arts, and even then her magic was amateurish at best, at least compared to the amount of power and control her mother had. Even so a part of her wondered if this stranger… this stranger with a tail, could handle this rebel by himself.

Suddenly more people jumped into the fray, one she believed she noticed on her walk towards the stage, a challenger in the tournament. She was astonished by his own seeming usage of magic, as electricity sparked around him and he sprung forward with full intent on aiding her saviour.

Not wanting to be the only one not contributing to the fight, the princess would once again summon all her magic. Her eyes glowed a faint blue as rubble from the exploded stadium stands suddenly rose up, following the rise of her arms which reached upwards as though she was reaching for the stars. She wasn’t going to let this deviant get away with all the destruction he’d cause, she was going to punish him in the name of the Earth… and all those who were lost.

Suddenly she was hurling a cascade of rubble at her assailant, careful to control it enough to avoid both of her newfound protectors.

Right as he jumped up into the crater where the booth was, he spotted Flynt fighting another man wearing some weird armor. The armored man caught some sort of energy blade from Flynt, but Ovan's appearance was not unnoticed. Flynt's body deployed some sort of weapon, and in the fractions of a second between the weapon charging and firing, Ovan dropped to the ground, narrowly avoiding the bright beam of energy.

Without skipping a beat, and hoping that the laser weapon had some sort of recharge time, Ovan bolted straight at Flynt, jumped and spun, gaining an immense amount of power for a kick at the side of Flynt's neck.

[Airceltrai
Before the grand opening

Light and shadows. Stillness pervaded the room as rays of sunlight penetrated through the wooden window covers. Outside Nymphaea heard the gentle tapping of a bamboo stalk as it expelled water that it accumulated to the pond below it,. The bamboo was a small piece in a rather simple water engineering device directly next to a pond. A cicada made its call to attract a potential mate to a tree it was on. Yet Nymphaea was not perturbed or annoyed by its call as most in the cities would, quite the opposite in fact, she found it soothing.

The sorceress sat crossed legged as she held her ring finger down by her thumb, stretching out the other fingers. She was hovering a few feet off the guard as she cleared her mind to feel the arcane current of the world and of adjunct dimensions. Even with her eyes closed she saw an aurora of colors dance before her eyes.

Fiery streaks of reds danced with soothing blues that tempered their partner. Yellows and greens blending together with orange trying to join, leaving purple alone. She felt the currents of magic coursing through her; trying to extend her own current into the greater flow surrounding her, to become in-tune to the way of the cosmos.

Just as she can see the flames of her aura reaching out to the aurora she heard a knock on the door, making the dancing streams of colors dispersed as they did not appreciate their interruption. Nymphaea opens her eyes to see the room she was in. Walls of gray stone with a ceiling and floor made of a dark wood made up the spartan chamber. She saw white glowing moths flying in her room. They are passive creatures who feed off the ambient magical energy on the land Airceltrai was built on

"Can I enter?" She heard a masculine voice called out. She recognized it immediately.

"You can Wui." She remains in her mediation position as the door opens and a bald mid age man with a tanned complexion enters the room. He wore a tanned beige robes with brown boots, greaves, and belt. "I'm sorry for interrupting you Nymphaea but I had orders from Grand Mistress Ashwood to deliver your new mission."

Nymphaea eyebrow arch up, intrigued by what her sister was sending her to. So far her sister was still adjusting to being temporary grand mistress while mother is off to deal with important matters somewheres. The two tried to get her to tell them where she was going and what was the nature of the trip that will take her away for a full month or two but she was refused to divulge even the smallest hint. Before she left she appointed her older sister to act as the temporary Grand Mistress of both Airceltrai and the whole Order.

Nymphaea knew that sooner or later Elizabeth would eventually have her mother's postion for good, magic may prolong your life and slow down or even suspend aging to an extent, but it can't stop one from dying. The few attempts made to do that often come with a terrible cost, ones that only the most desperate or depraved are willing to pay. If Nymphaea was honest her sister had the skills to be a good leader but her sister doesn't see it yet.

"What is it?" Wui would cough slightly to clear his throat. "You are to go to the stadium grounds hosting Fifth Tenkaichi Budokai." Wui saw a look of confusion on her on the sorceress face, thinking that this was a joke. "Our seers detected  a spirit in the grounds. We aren't sure if it was always haunting the grounds or it followed someone into it. But we need you to find out it's intentions and if it's hostile to remove it before the tournament begins."

Ah, that was it. A simple haunting cleansing." Nymphaea would bring her feet down on the ground. "I will go as once." She gave him a smirk.  "I will arrive back before the tournament even begins."

Tournament Grounds

"I'll be back before the tournament begins huh? Might as well promised to end world hunger while I was at it." the sorceress berated herself mentally as chaos befell the tournament grounds. Especially as things before were going so well for her day.

The spirit she was tasked to find was not a threat as surprisingly as it was. He was just a relative who wanted to see his cousin fight in the tournament. Nymphaea had no objection to a family member crossing through the veil to wish a relative good luck, she let him pass. Of course she stayed as other ghosts began to enter the ground and some had less sympathetic reasons to be there. Reasons that required her to intervene and act as the bad mystic cop.

She scared off five stalkers who wanted to creep on the princess, stopped three that tried to sabotage the tournament to ensure their favorite fighter had the highest chance of winning, and one ghost wanted to possess the announcer's microphone so he can rant about why the current generation is ruining everything. It was honestly a dull mission if she was to be frank.

But when the next spirits proved to be friendly or ambivalent she could have left but with the tournament drawing closer to its grand opening she felt excitement over the prospect of seeing it, to see fighters from all of the world testing their might in the arena for the whole world to see. She didn't know what compelled her to stay but her normal self control failed her. A much stronger force had won a mental battle Nymphaea didn't know was being waged inside of her.

She changed her clothes with a simple illusion spell so people saw her wearing a simple gray shirt with a knee length hooded gray and black jacket  with yellow bands on the arms, edges of the jacket and back. She wore a gray skirt with black leggings ending with gray boots with black soles and laces. She also had black fingerless gloves and beret. She figured that looking like a regular citizen will allow her to enter in as an audience member with no problem. She had a feeling her actual clothing would draw too much attention.

The ticket was rather simple too, find a random piece of paper and cast an illusion to look like the ticket, problem solved.

She waited on her seat for the speach and while doing so looked around to see not only the audience members and fighters but the invisible guests that while much smaller in numbers compared to the normal guests made up for it in their diversity.

The spirits of both the deceased that wish to see family members or support their favourite fighters, elementals who live on the tournament grounds, demonic entities that are passive in nature, arthropod and mollusks like entities that clung onto some people who came in.

A few creatures were made of mist, or energy, or smoke, darkness, fractal glass shards, or strange colors she never saw before. Some with too many tentacles and eyes, and others look like surreal artwork come to life, and others were just to weird for her to describe. They all came because the raw emotions and huge collection of KI and arcane energy drew them in. The whole tournament was just one massive buffet for these creatures. Despite the large number of otherworldly beings none possessed threat, not even the demons. Most are just here to feed in order to survive and a few she suspected might be helping the people they are attached to even if they can't see the creature and the creature's subtle effect on their lives.

As the princess made her speech Nymphaea had to admit that she was pretty. "So that is why sis had a poster of her." she personally admired the fact she managed to catch herself in making a few mistakes on her speech and acting like she planned on them for humor. Smart move.

But of course that now leads to the current predicament. First a bunch of idiots crashed the tournament with explosives order to free people from tyranny from the government and left behind a terrorist who was more machine than man who came down from their helicopter and now had the princess held hostage.

Nymphaea sighed. "Here I thought my day would be exciting cause I get to see my first ever tournament but no. Captain Dipshit had to take that from me." The sorceress said in a deadpan manner, hiding the disappointment and rage she felt. However she also felt extremely troubled. She couldn't just leave the princess in trouble but at the same time she couldn't expose herself as a sorceress either.

A few villagers from the most remote and rural parts of the world, miles away from  urban civilization, they're fine as far as the Order was on non-mages knowing about their existence. But this? This was the exact situation they wanted to avoid. Having magic exposed in a large city with not only many witnesses but camera crew present. She was not going to jeopardize the Order's existence but she also can't let an innocent person be in danger either.

She clinched the hems of her non existent skirt tightly as she began to chew her bottom lip. Would she save one life at the expense of the Order, her family? Or will she sacrifice one woman for them. It was this mental debate that distracted her from sensing the arrival of a strange man who literally flew into the arena.

"Excuse me, what? Who is that guy and how can he fly? ... Is he the type willing to share his secret?" the sorceress thought as she kept her eyes on Spicer, ignoring both the people and entities. Even from her seat she can feel his power. It wasn't magic as she didn't detect a trace of it on him. But the Ki she felt was immense, clearly leagues above anyone she ever met. She felt electrical jolts pop throughout her body the more she felt his power. She rubbed her legs in aphreshion on where the man gained so much power and what his intentions were?

But her thoughts were interrupted as she felt yet another power; one different her very familiar. "Was that magic!? There is another sorceress here?  But what kind of magic was that? That one felt different." the mage saw the princess fleeing from the machine man. "Who are you princess?

The mage saw several fighters stood against the mechanical terrorist and saw their auras as bursts of flames, electrical sparks coursing around one of the fighters bodies. "The Ki on these fighters are much higher than normal. They almost match closely with the KI users back in Airceltrai.

The sorceress decided to sit this fight out for now. She needed to observe how these fighters will handle the machine man. More importantly, she wanted to see what else the mystery man and the princess was capable of. "I can deliver the revelations I uncover today to make up for the fact I took too long to return back. Still..." her eyes fell upon the princess as he hurled rubble at her assailant. "What are we going to do with the princess? She can use magic and we somehow missed it? Who else in the royal family is capable of magic?"

Nymphaea cross her arms in front of her chest. She thought on whether to take the princess now to Airceltrai or wait for later. More to the point, how to deal with the fact she is using magic publicly.

Danuja

Danuja smashed the weapon over one of the last few grunts heads. The man fell to the ground with a yelp. Throwing the gun aside, she looked around her. The arena floor was littered with unconscious or dying bodies. The grunts had either been knocked out by her or one of the other fighters who had died in the combat. Just as she was about to go and join in the large fight in the box. Just as she was about to however, a few more grappling hooks were tossed over the moat. Akane readied her fists as a few men in matching uniforms climbed over the edge. They wore standard ragged military uniforms, with the kanji of a martial arts school she was unfamiliar with stitched on to the jacket over the heart and on the back. One of them, who wore a small cap signifying a rank over the other ones laughed and said "Some of you boys owe me zeni, I told you the Colonel's catastrophe up there would need help. Ed, finish up this broad, me and Jackie will go bail out, what was that poor suckers name, Flit? We'll go bail out that thing that was Flit."

The man in the cap and the woman who had also climbed out of the moat took a great leap towards the box crater. Danuja was left facing the man who had been called Ed. He was shorter, and had clearly lost some other fights recently. His pants were basically patchwork at this point, and he had swapped his military shirt with a yellow bowling shirt at some point. He took a fighting stance and said "I'd hate to mark up a pretty face like yours, but hey, bossman's orders. C'mon then."

Danuja circled the man for a bit, disgusted by his lax and even a bit creepy demeanor. Finally she charged in. The first few hits seemed to chip at the man, but not by much. Likewise, his own shots hurt, but not by much. Danuja grinned, finally an equal opponent. Her counterpart seemed to take some joy in this as well. The fight began to speed up as both sides began to get more and more worked into it, each blow being traded with one of equal force.

Flynt

The various calculations in his head, the constant white noise that predicted his future, changed several times within a few seconds. He had pulled th knife out of Spicer's arm and was getting ready to blast him again when he felt the palm of the man against his chest. As Spicer fired, Flynt was made aware of the cloths and rubber skin that covered his chest being blown off. As he stood up, the true metal structure of his body along with some form of glass casing covering his still essential organs was revealed. Another being joined in the fight, landing a solid punch that knocked Flynt's jaw piece askew. Several pieces of rubble punctured his body, embedding themselves in his joints, while another man leaped up and disabled his neck joint with a kick.

Before Flynt could respond, two other beings leaped up on to the platform. He recognized them as friends of his creator and his auditory sensores recorded the one wearing a cap saying "Jackie, take the little one with the green hair. This fellah with the white afro is mine." Before they charged and engaged with two more of his assailints. Flynt was hurt, but definetly not quite out from the joint assault. Pointing his blaster arm, he fired a barrage at the princess while charging back in towards the tailed man, aiming to slash his throat with the blade.

Earth, the Sol System

Spicer's energy attack on the cybernetically enhanced Earthling proved effective, at least in the short term. Along with the mysterious woman's esoteric energy attack, the mechanical warrior appeared injured and matters were improved as two more warriors arrived to assist in fighting Flynt. Spicer's scouter lit up as he read off their power levels; they were high, although from a quicky glance at them Spicer was sure they weren't Saiyans. They both lacked tails, and one's hair was white as a dwarf star.

Still, the damage was done on Flynt, and as he prepared to attack Spicer called out to the cyborg.

"Shame, you're straight out of the factory and you're already broke," Spicer said with a grin as he raised his hand to fire another blast. Before he could, however, his scouter lit up again and his attention shifted to the arrival of two other beings who quickly engaged the two arrivals who came to assist Spicer. The Saiyan warrior frowned Flynt got back to his feet and counterattacked.

Flynt struck first at the young woman, and Spicer moved quickly by firing a blast into the ground to put a barrier of debris between Flynt's energy attack and Serena. This, however, gave the Saiyan warrior no time to roll away from Flynt's renewed charge. Despite the damage done to his body, he was proving to be a tenacious opponent. Spicer instead grabbed the blade with his gloved right hand. Pain seared through his body, but while he flinched, Spicer did not falter.

"Almost had me there," he said through gritted teeth. Wasting little time, Spicer let go of the blade as he sent a punch with his left fist into the cyborg's metal organ casing.

Ikki Kita, defender of Earth!

With two powerful smashes, from Ikki and then from Ovan, Flynt flinched and stepped back, the inner metallic structure of his body revealing itself. A few moments of reprieve followed, during which the young Saiyan landed on his feet and stared at the taller, mysterious warrior who had appeared out of the nowhere to rescue the Princess. His hair was pitch black, the tail sticking out from his back clearly indicating that he wasn't an ordinary human, just like Ikki, and a device attached to his eye began to beep, displaying symbols in an unknown script as soon as it was pointed towards him.

The tail was what caught Ikki's attention the most, however. It was kinda similar to the one he used to have back when he was a child, wasn't it? At least, before it vanished one day... The youth did not get to bring that up or even open his mouth to speak, though, because not only did Flynt return to battle, two of his allies suddenly entered the fray, both of them wearing a military uniform with martial arts insignia. The one called Jackie lunged straight at Ikki.

"Aack!" the young Saiyan grunted and crossed his arms, the two fighters ramming against one another at full force. Cracks and bolts of energy began to swirl around Ikki again, but even though the two of them tapped into all of their strength, neither one seemed to budge.

The struggle developed into a full physical clash, dozens of punches getting thrown in a matter of seconds before Ikki and Jackie backed off from one another, gaining a few meters of distance and staring down at one another, getting ready to clash again.
I have a severe case of addiction to writing. At least 3k words every day is my fix.

West City- Tournament
Nymphaea

The sorceress watched with bated breath as fighting between the KI users and terrorists continued. On her hand was a small amorphous creature with big black eyes. She was petting it with her left pointer finger and the creature made a loud pitch squeaking noise as it approved of the action. The sorceress saw it climbing up her seat and finding it adorable and knowing it was harmless she picked it up and began to pet it.

As she looked on she would finally noticed a few things about two fighters. The flying man and a woman in a gai both had tails. Nymphaea was trying to remember why that fact felt important until she remembered what her mother told her. How she once had a tail when she was possessed by a demon.

"Great. Not only is that thing back, it also brought over a friend." the sorceress thought, frowning but still petting the creature. Her concern now grew from fearing the princess exposing magic to the uninitiated to now people being in danger of two people who can turn into massive monsters at any moment.

Nymphaea tried to think what to do but all routes lead to one conclusion and she wished it wasn't so. "Sorry my little friend,  but your cuddling season has to be postponed." She told the creature. It let out a sad sounding noise, it's body deflating as it gave her it's best attempt at the puppy dog eyes. It was pretty effective if Nymphaea was being honest with herself.

"Look. I'll come back to give as much pets as you want. But things are going to get dangerous and I rather not have you get caught in the crossfire. So please promise me that you will go off and hide okay?" She gave the creature a smile. The creature thought of her words and bounced it's body up as it squeak, agreeing to her deal.

Of course her talking to an invisible creature got her plenty of strange looks from those who overheard her. But Nymphaea ignored the odd looks and people muttering on her going mad. As she got up from her seat she would turn around and place her hand close to the back so the creature got on it began to climb down to search for a hiding spot.

In truth it was safe from most things. She was worried about her harming it by mistake or the princess if her magic can affect ethereal beings like hers. As the woman began to walk away from the row she excused herself, feeling a tad awkward on having to bump to so many people.

Once she reached an open path she would begin to walk forward to the arena. "Well, here we go.  I just hope none of the seers will see this." she thought, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. As she opened her eyes to exhale her body shimmered as though a pocket of heat distorted her image. Her clothing began to shimmer from the boots as they began to fade away like a mirage, revealing her actual footwear. The shimmer traveled upwards as more of her truth form began to be revealed. Once it reached her head she would slide her fingers through her hair. Surprising the people who saw the change.

"My illusionary clothing were wonderful but I was starting to miss seeing my actual clothing." She would clinch her fingers and open them up a few times, stretching her arms out slightly. "Now then princess.  Perhaps it would be good for you to see what a true practitioner of the mystic arts can do. Maybe you will be willing to join me on the return to Airceltrai? " Her cape began to flutter as though the wind was blowing against it. "And perhaps I won't have a difficult time convincing the two devil tails to come with me to save them."

The sorceress would begin to slowly rise up in the air. "I just hope they don't turn into giant apes because of these mad men." She muttered as she heard people gasping in surprise. She would lean her body forward and would fly forward to the arena. She looked around at the fight and seeing that most of the goons were taken care off, only a few stragglers were left. She found a few that were close to Danuja, no doubt preparing to attack her to avenge their fallen comrades. They will suffice as her first targets. The sorceress began to take a deep breath before reciting a mantra.

As she reached the final verse of her mantra she would extend her hands out and curl her fingers into claws. Fiery strings would descend down her fingers and warp themselves on one of the men, trapping him in a cocoon. Nymphaea would begin to lower herself down on to the ground.

"You fought admirably Devil Tail. I just wish I had a chance to see it on this tournament. It was supposed to be my first time seeing these events and these rebels ruined it." She told her just as her feet finally touched the ground close by Danuja. "Regardless these men had already caused enough chaos. It's best to stop them now before more any more innocent lives are ceaselessly slaughtered to fuel their rebellion." Nymphaea would walk forward and clap her hands together. Chanting yet another mantra as threads of fiery energy appeared on her hands as she pulled them back, sparks jumping off the threads.

As one goon charged towards her with a stun baton she would move her hands further apart to create more threads that caught the baton. She would kick the man right between the legs and as he doubled over in pain the strings began to warp themselves around her hands and forearm, forming into a gaunlet. She would deliver a powerful punch on the man at the right side of his face before uppercuting him. Sparks flying off with each blow as a sizzling sound was heard, a faint presence of steam coming off the areas she hit.

She would place her hand on the man's chest and send out an energy blast that would send him flying. She would clap her hands again and the gauntlet would revert back into strings of energy. She would use the strings as a lasso and spin it over her head as another soldier who was charging towards her with another buton. The lasso would fly off and grab the man by the ankle, with a strong pull she caused the man to trip up and fall.

Nymphaea would take out a wooden wand that grew into a staff. The staff would then extend into a chain-link like whip, the same fiery energy coursing through it, as she swung the staff as a whip and struck the guard on the head just as he was getting up.

"Wait. Are weapons allowed in tournaments?" She turned to Danuja, giving the woman a curious expression as the staff closed itself. "Are there rules against magic use?"
