Office of the Taris Senatorial Delegation
Coruscant
Romaine Vitroix

"...barely has enough supplies to feed my crew, nonetheless help these people. We have done all we can, but we need your help. Mercy Out" the message said. Vitroix, Marina, her Chief of Staff Amira Zahnt and one of aides Jarus Anerka were sat down around a table, going over the issues of the moment. She had played the message for the second time, listening with a rare bit of sympathy for people who to her were the enemy.

"It's unfortunate" Romaine said with a hint of sorrow. "Of all the worlds for a New Republic aid vessel to get stuck on, Byss is really a bad luck of the draw. They would have been more fortunate to have crashed into a star". Jarus, was young would-be career ISB officer who happened to commision just after the Death Star II was destroyed, looked puzzled.

"Permission to ask about what's so bad about Byss?" he said. "I hadn't even heard about it until today". Amira gave a glare - she too was formerly of the ISB and Romaine could tell that she did not like the fact one of her staffers was asking about something that was only told to others on a need to know basis.

"Well, you've asked the question" Romaine replied. "I obviously know more then most, but I was never posted there while I was part of the ISB and pretty much everything about it needs high level security clearance. Glad for it. Some of the sickest fucks in the Empire, just left there and isolated from what's going on in the rest of the Galaxy. It was the Emperor's resort world, though we all know more went on there. Probably all manner of secret experiments and a terrorised slave population to sustain it. If you're someone there who isn't one of us... hope for a quick death".

"Romaine, if the sickest fucks are on Byss, why aren't you there?" Marina her wife interjected, winking as she said it. Romaine couldn't help but smile. "Look dear, there's no reason for us to help anyone there. Just let the New Republic send some rescue team to get slaughtered, let some save-the-Galaxy Senator moan about how awful it is". Romaine felt she was right, but instinct gave her a feeling that the Byss issue would pop up some time in the future.

"Fine" Romaine sighed. "Don't know why I brought it up. Let's go back to Thyferra and Illum then... so, thoughts on the response from Curro?"

"What's her homeworld?" Amira asked. "If she didn't seem like such a goody two-shoes career officer I would have thought she's planning on going for a Senate seat". Romaine had to give it to Currro - it was a good, professional response and very firmly put the ball in the court of General Kar Byrass if he had decided to go warlord. It was, of course, very difficult to ascertain what was actually going on Ilum. On the one hand, Byrass could simply be responding in a manner that would had been standard practice under the days of the Empire and he could fall in line. On the other, he could be very fast turning into a liability if he didn't fall in line to let his Legion fight another day. Or perhaps the rebel labour force were truly mad and it was a fight for survival?

"I'd be more worried about the fleet she's bringing" Romaine noted. "Particularly the propaganda unit, if they're carrying one. A whole bunch of 'the Galaxy is watching' holetapes is not what we need this very moment, but it's sort of thing New Republic Intelligence would leak to the HoloNet. Nor can we afford to lose another Stormtrooper legion. Nor do we have the political capital to help get Byrass out of this if he decides to carry on suppressing the rebellion. I hate to say it, but he's a liability".

"So what do we do?" Amira questioned, this time puzzled. "It's not like either of us can swoop in and relieve him of command. That's Curro's job... that said -".

"I'm sure we can find someone who can make Byrass see the bigger picture and comply" Romaine said. Amira slowly nodded - the two were on the same page. "Isn't one of our friends in the Unknown Regions now - think he moved into the star charts and rare commodities business? Surely he has his old ISB transponder?"

"I know who you're talking about" Amira said. "I'll sort it now". Amira left to get in contact with their old friend. It was an odd position to be in - New Republic Defence Forces they may call themselves, but they were still rebel scum. Rebel scum who had contend with the fact they'd have to stamp their boots on the necks of other rebel scum, just as Romaine once did. Must be rough for them - at least Romaine could enjoy it. For them, it would be like harshly disciplining a beloved child or pet.

"Now, let's talk about Thyferra" Romaine said. "Honestly, I saw Kyrell's bill and I was minded to go and support it. But the Correllians are spooked. They don't want New Republic forces moving through their space, not whilst they haven't been properly integrated into the New Republic with their own institutions and forces maintained... let's examine the matter the gently. I want to make sure we're a few more moves ahead before we act to give Covylus the best possible hands before Corellia becomes the latest new addition to the New Republic".

"May it live the long life of a Wookie" Marina said. "Oh wait, this apartment is debugged? My bad - a very short life of a Wookie slave on a spice mine".

If the New Republic were going to prosecute anyone in this room, then Romaine had a feeling her wife's jokes would certainly land her the harshest sentence.

Galactic City, Coruscant
Outside the Quarters of the Hutt Representative

They were an altogether nondescript bunch of persons. They were wearing a standard maintenance team's clothes and had already requested entrance to the building. On their persons they carried a series of communications and broadcasting equipment, much like what was already going up on several other buildings around the city. This was, of course, the time to be getting access to the HoloNet since the Empire could no longer censor it effectively from beyond the grave. This had offered a unique moment and opportunity to members of Imperial interests off-world. The mission was simple in concept and in operation it would perhaps play out even more simply. They were, after all, just the delivery men and technicians for setting up the HoloNet transceiver.

The type of transceiver this was, however, came from those whom had the money to afford luxuries such as designated private HoloNet channels that broadcasted only signals along matched receivers and antennae from across the Galaxy. All there was to do now was to wait for the Hutt Representative's response to their query and the generosity of the technician's benefactors. Mysterious and without much explanation, the man whom had ordered the relay built had approached the technicians almost four days prior and had organized everything. Codes, messages, and equipment, paid for in full and discreetly too. That sort of discretion was greatly appreciated in days and times as uncertain as these and the Imperial Credit still went a long way during this transitory period.

Message for the Hutt Representative,
Honorable Tiasha Nuvonn

It has come to the recognition of friends within the core that communications may be difficult over distance without proper security measures in place. Such so it is nowadays that criminals too can rule among despots and tyrants and it must be that those practicing honest business must safeguard their interests in smoke and mirrors.

Review the information provided along with the technical manuals and specifications of the equipment delivered. Take all necessary precautions you require to ensure it is not of any hostile intent that it has been provided. When it has been met with a satisfactory amount of caution and consideration, the technicians provided will discretely install the hardware as specified.

They have been paid in full beforehand and are currently of interest for use in other like projects. It is desired that they be allowed to continue with their work when complete. It is appreciated that precautions must be taken in certain cases and in theirs, all possible investigations and information has been secured. Their personal information has been provided within the Attachments file for this communique.

[b]A Benefactor and Confidant of Friends over Corellia

Task Force 18
Govia System, Corellian Sector
EF76 Nebulon-B Escort Frigate CSV Candor

3W; 3D ABE
Captain Marzolf had been on the bridge for quite some time already for this watch. His eyes were beginning to feel that tell-tale weariness from the many hours of watching the emptiness of space in this backwater system. There had been whispers of pirates moving through the area, attempting to capitalize in the recent break in Imperial patrols through the Corellian Run and the Corellian Trade Spine. Already fights had begun to break out across the Sector with some of these forces, Task Force 3 had managed to engage and capture an old Munificent class from the Clone Wars and found the stash of supplies and loot it had secured from Imperial shipping in the area.

Well, it wasn't Imperial shipping anymore, it was New Republic shipping he had to remind himself. There was a bit of a frown that crossed his grizzled face as he considered that. To his left, he heard a voice call out for him and his eyes shifted to appraise the situation for himself. A young ensign, newly assigned- Joz was the name if he could remember correctly in this weary state- had spun around in his seat and was waving him over. There was a note of panic and concern in the younger man's eyes and the Captain let his frown take on a harder, more steely gaze as he calmly paced over. It was the sensors booth, one of them. Giving a quick look over the console, he could see the reasoning behind the man's concern. There had been a breakout of hostilities against one of the smaller company-sized formations that had entered the system a week ago.

Locals, hardly a respectful bunch and if it wasn't bad enough that they had been free-loading off of Corellian tax credits, they had begun to riot against the local security forces deployed to keep the crime rates low. It wasn't as if there was much crime in a backwater like this, but there was still concerns and the Moff had ordered the company of Corellian Guard out to the boonies to ensure all was secure. To be honest, there was a small note of surprise that rang out in the back of the Captain's mind that arose from believing this should have happened sooner. A few minutes of watching the data feed and suddenly a much different story was evolving.

"Comms! Bring the long-range transceiver online and begin jamming all outbound HoloNet traffic from Govia! Tactical, bring all systems up to speed and bring TIE fighter squadrons to full alert. Inform our escorts that Imperial forces have begun taking fire at a number of outposts along their perimeter. This looks like a cell, so prepare to deploy reinforcements."

The bridge flew into a sudden flurry of motion and noise as lights dimmed slightly and across the ship the dull klaxons began to sound. It was a familiar old noise, and Captain Marzolf gave a soft contented smile at the sound. It was music to an old veteran to hear the song of war being beat out upon the drums. This was not unlike those notes and the soft pulsing of the klaxon was like a heartbeat, steadying itself before the rage of battle overtook it in a rage. A soldier ran up beside the Captain and held out a familiar mask. Marzolf took it gratefully and began to secure the atmospheric mask into position about his neck. He'd put it on if need-be, but for now there didn't appear to be any airborne threats. To the front, his tactical section Lieutenant turned about in his seat and spoke.

"Sir! Fighter squadrons will be ready to deploy in ten minutes, they're prepping the launch bays now. We've got malfunctions in one of the port turbolasers, but besides that, all systems are reading green for engagement. Escort freighters are moving towards the planet now, but we're getting signals of heavy weapons fire from the planet. It looks like the rebels have some sort of armored land speeder down there!"

The Captain nodded and began to think. There were no star destroyers anywhere nearby and to be frank, he didn't much care for them to approach either. There was the TIE squadrons and with his twin Gozanti's, he had an additional eight split between the two for patrol duties. He gave a flat grimace and looked towards the fighter squadron situation report console. There were two bridge personnel leaned over it, furiously typing out engagement codes and activation codes to bring all of the individual systems online. There weren't many, but for the 24 TIE's onboard, the easiest place to enter in the activation and anti-theft controls was from the bridge anyways. One by one, the small silhouettes of the TIE Fighters winked into a deep blue hue.

Even more now to his right, there was a series of two sensor consoles that had a pattern of green and red buttons blinking upon them. Before each station, the helmets of the two communications officers could be seen angling up and down, taking stock of the changing frequencies and moving quickly to jam the outbound HoloNet traffic in the system. They needed to stop the spread of any news before those in the new Republic could catch wind. No sooner had they finished their work though, there came a new call from a familiar voice. The sensors crewman was nodding and pointing and counting something to himself. Approaching, the Captain stopped short as he could see the instant issue as well.

There wasn't any way that what he was seeing was possible- what was an Imperial-class Star Destroyer doing in this system?

The sensor's operator quickly turned to the Captain, trying to see if there would come any solace from the older soldier, but none came as the veteran simply stood, jaw gaping at the sight of the fleet that had jumped into system. Orbiting low over the planet, the star destroyer had dropped out of hyperspace practically on top of the fighting. Several smaller ships had also arrived with it. From the looks of things, a Gozanti assault carrier, three Carracks, and an interdictor. He still wasn't quite sure what was going on when the middle of the bridge came alight with a blue-bright form of a man in Corellian Security Forces officer uniform. Imperial in origin and recently modified to symbolize the loss of the Emperor, the Corellian Security Forces uniforms were a patchwork solution until newer uniforms could be obtained.

"Captain Marzolf, this is Commander Madys of the CSV Pruudence. We are conducting a retaliatory strike on known insurgent locations in conjunction with the operation order being broadcast to your ship's databanks now. Inform yourself and then move to assist our forces. We have knowledge of multiple Insurgent positions due in part from several fleeing vessels tracked to this system. We believe that an advance team sent by our Task Force has managed to locate the majority of their positions and has now come under attack."

The Captain nodded and looked towards the communications console to see the data stream inbound. It wasn't small, but could definitely be skimmed over the course of an hour or two flight back towards Govia. It wasn't as if the rebels were going to be going anywhere soon. The Commander nodded at the obvious compliance of the frigate commander and turned away, the hologram cutting off. There was some silence in the bridge, the few whom had been able to drop the workflow for a moment to consider what they were hearing now looked towards the Captain before returning to their jobs. There was something off about the urgency that had been carried in the smooth and measured clip of Commander Madys. The Coruscanti accent was unmistakable, but there was something more urgent about this fight- something was on the line and without further information, he couldn't say if moving in to assist the fleet was a good call. It was a standing order from a superior officer and conceding the risks to commander's consideration, he ordered the Candor to move up and provide support.

Corellian Sector Policy

HoloNet protests continue in light of ongoing drops in overall conscription rates. Further heightened numbers of Imperial forces responding to the governments Transitional Forces program has been credited with dropping the demand of military sector manpower by almost 72%. Additional protests center around supposed lightning raids occurring on outerlying planets and locations around the Sector, positing a potential rogue warlord among the Corellian Security Forces. The Corellian Sector Authority has denied any knowledge of any rogue Imperial forces and ensures current public media outlets that all patrols and tasks forces are currently accounted for.

Thyferra Ultimatum Approaching
With no response from any government officials or authority figures on Thyferra, Corellian Security Forces appear to be mobilizing over Corellia for a preemptive strike on seized infrastructure on the vital planet. Corellian Sector Security Forces have begun to instruct civilians and non-combatants to move to safe locations away from vital infrastructure as preparations to invade and hold the system are underway. Concerns have been raised that this may be seen as an act of war. Citing the lack of any official governing authority on Thyferra and a lack of decisive Senate response through diplomatic or military channels, Corellian warships and invasion forces could be reasonably assumed to be reinstating order until a stable representative government is brought to power.

Corellian Trade Security Patrols Recommencing
Recognizing a rise in criminal activity and a lack of New Republic security efforts within the region, the Corellian Sector Authority has announced plans to deploy three Star Destroyers and their escorts along the Corellian Run and one Star Destroyer and its escorts along the Corellian Trade Spine to conduct anti-piracy and anti-smuggling operations. Suspected raids on currently non-declared insurgent and partisan groups within reach of the Trade Routes are suspected targets and many have taken to the HoloNet to decry potential remilitarization of the Trade Routes. Moff Covylus issued a statement earlier in the day referencing a lack of order and multiple planets now suffering from constant bandit attacks that have come from a breakdown of Imperial rule along the vital trade routes.

Corellian Judiciary Committee still in Recess
The group of administratively-selected native experts on both Corellian and Galactic Law have remained in recess over the last three days. While intentions have been mentioned by the Corellian Sector Authority to enable a smooth transition to a representative government, some propose that the current Moff may attempt to stall further democratic processes in an attempt to further consolidate Executive powers. Some local officials have protested further militarization of the planet from the Transitional program designed to help ensure ex-Imperial forces a means to live outside the Imperial wage system, but the growing population of veterans of the Galactic Civil War and from nearby sectors has started to offset local decision-making processes.

First Corellian Parliamentary Congress Ends
The First Corellian Parliamentary Congress was ended early today after reports of a potential bomb-threat shut down multiple districts in Coronet City. Current legislation on the table includes official disbanding of Imperial infrastructure and militarized locations around the planet, limiting the amount of military forces that can effectively train planetside at a time. While there is much resistance from pro-Imperial factions, the Office of the Moff has declared support for the measure, citing a need for a smaller, more highly professional military, supplemented by an easier maintenance military force.

Combat Droids for Conscripts Initiative?
The Office of the Moff has announced that it is looking into bolstering the soon-to-be-depleted reserves of Stormtroopers and military forces joining the Corellian Guard or retiring from service with battle droids. Supplementing the capabilities of the Corellian Guardsmen (and women), these droids would act alongside the Corellian guard and provide a potentially massive boost to local manpower when fighting in space or on the ground. Several bids have already been placed by local Corellian manufacturers, however there is interest in potentially acquiring foreign models from elsewhere in the galaxy. Some concerns have been raised regarding this radical shift in doctrine due to the negative association of battle droids with the armies of the Confederacy of Independent Systems of the Clone Wars.

Corellian Sector Authority Demands Border Recognition
With increasing militarization and movement of New Republic forces close to the borders of the Corellian Sector, the Moff has specifically requested that all attempts to move through Corellian hyperlanes be specifically requested by the New Republic. However, due to the current lack of official response on the Thyferra massacre, no official talks have been authorized. With some lack of communication and high tensions around Corellia involving the Senate's proposed bill to push more military forces into the region, some cite the vulnerability of the Corellian Sector to a false-flag attack if Republican forces decide to utilize any free movement through the Sector for a surprise attack. Increased patrols along the core-bound lanes have seen deployments of Interdictor-class Star Destroyers along vital hyperlane stopping points until an agreement can be reached.

Charlo Fredo
Senator of Bith

It was clear to Charlo that Support of his Bill was minimal amongst his colleagues. Although the quiet Senate Hall did not seem to want to Vote yet. Instead further Legislation from his new Rival Senator Thane came across the floor. Senator Thane was Correct that these atrocities hurt the Republic's Reputation but perhaps that was best for Fredo. Afterall if the Republic seemed like a bureaucratic mess worse than the empire and unable to stop the Rebels the public would understand that an uncentralized state was worthless. But on the other side of the Coin, he must ensure the Republic Military is powerful and is able to act when needed. Besides many of the Surrendering Imperial Forces were his friends and to see them killed by rebels saddened Fredo. After much consideration, he stood up and spoke of the new proposed Legislation.

"My Respected Colleagues the new Legislation proposed by senator Thane could work to resolve the Incident of Theyferra but I would like to address several alarming Flaws the Bill shows. Firstly, Senator Thane proposes Pardoning all surviving members of the 451st because of the assault. Senator Thane, did you forget how the men of emperor Palpatine slaughtered countless Rebel Forces and Planets even after Surrender? Being the victim of a Slaughter does not forgive the slaughter of others and the survivors must still face the Court of Law for their actions.

Furthermore, may I remind you that most of our Military is focused on dealing with Imperial Remnants? But it may be possible to gain the force necessary to restore Order on Theyferra by issuing a Conscription... and whos to know that these soldiers will treat the Surviving Imperials or the Rebels unfairly. This is why it must be assured that a Centralized Senate watches any Soldiers deployed to Theyferra Carefully.

Lastly, these Rebels will be alarmed by a Military Force and will likely not comply. But they may if we send a Negotiator such as a Member of this Senate to speak with them and find a solution that works with the safety of the Survivors, rebels, and our Troops."

Fredo's hope was, of course, to be that Senator and too work out something with the Rebels that would ensure the Republic goes in the Correct Direction...

Galactic headlines

Massacre on Ilum
The intensity of fighting on Ilum increased dramatically following the influx of Wookie and NPP fighters and equipment. Several AT-STs were taken out by rocket fire and armour-piercing blasters, far beyond the mining lasers the local miners were thought to be able to field. A few positions held by the imperial legion were quickly taken in the first days of the offensive, leading to a general withdrawal from lightly armed imperial forward garrisons, leading to the NPP raising their banner over towns under their control, discarding Republic flags in the process. However, in the days after the reckoning came: open assaults from AT-ATs on the most populated areas. While good at guerrila combat, the militias were ill-suited for open combat against a stormtrooper legion.

The inhabitants of recaptured settlements were divided in two. The women and children were put on transports and sent to the crystal caves, while the men were taken out, made to dig large pits, and executed. The approaching Republic fleet made them hurry in their work, though, and many pits were simply doused in fuel and put to the torch. Images of large mass graves now circulate across the galaxy, accompanied by the threat of the stormtrooper legion: if the Republic does not grant them safe passage into Remnant space under Grand Admiral Marcona, they will start executing civilians one by one for all to see. The general of the legion has made it clear that the Republic, by sending weapons to kill him and his men, are responsible for the situation.

Dissent among the ranks
The publication that the NPP and Wookie freedom fighters have joined forces with the Hutt cartel have sparked outrage in the rank-and-file, as well as among some higher officers. Many NPP fighters resent the capitalist conglomerate formed by the Hutts, which they see as the pinnacle outgrowth of corrupt, capitalist ideals. While this discussion is mostly academic, for the Wookies, it hits far closer to home. The Hutts are the galaxy’s primary slaver market, and they are at least partially responsible for the Toydarian hunt of the Wookies. Breaking bread with the Hutts feels to many like a betrayal, and Gobroo’s political rivals have already come out in opposition to the alliance. Some Wookie cells have instead declared independence, or pledged fealty to the Republic instead. While no open hostilities have broken out, these rebel cells have declared that they will fire upon any Hutt-aligned individual that enters their space.

Markets settle
Following a few easy weeks after the destruction of the Death Star II, the galactic stock market has stopped its dramatic drop. A peaceful transition of power in the core worlds, as well as fruitful discussion on the rejoining of imperial-held worlds, has eased fears of an all-out collapse. Talk of possible partial bailouts has also stopped the freefall, but stocks are not nearly worth as much as they used to, and many companies have already begun to lay off individuals as a response to decreased investment. Especially the industrial sectors are hard hit, leading to a decrease in hired labour in relation to the number of unpaid slaves as a cost saving measure.

A case on Fondor
Two weeks before the battle of Endor, a civilian transport craft carrying 200 passengers and 100 crew was blown up in Fondor orbit. It was a targeted attack by a an assassin against some high managers of Fondor’s shipyards, perpetrated by a lone wolf who had been fired from the yards after drinking on the job. After imperial agents got involved, it was revealed that the transport was secretly transporting an armoured battalion headed for the battlefields of Sullust. Without a doubt, if this battalion had arrived on Sullust, it would have killed many rebel fighters. The assassin, a Twi’Lek by the name of Tref T’Billa, was quickly apprehended and sentenced to death. However, the defeat at Endor halted all planned executions, and Tref T’Billa’s execution was delayed. Now, T’Billa’s new lawyer has petitioned the Senate to halt the execution of his client, since his action was invaluable to the efforts of the rebellion. It is known that, under targeting policy of the Alliance fleet, X-wing pilots would have targeted the craft if it was holding imperial material, even if there were civilians on board. However, T’Billa was at the time of the bombing unaware that the transport carried imperial armour.

Things have gotten complex fast as with politics always. Ilum is an interesting case with NPP fighters and Wookies making fast progress into freeing the planet of the Imperial Legion on the crystal mining planet. Meadas Lanshon, commander for operations on Ilum, had requested to move in heavier assets, towed anti-armor guns, armor, and even an air-wing, to be able to disable or destroy more heavier-field armor deployed by the Legion. Steba authorized it. From there, Meadas moved in more fighters, supply, and heavier items in order to deal with the legion. Films of the fighting on Ilum had quickly surfaced. Videos on the holonet of Wookie and NPP fighters armed with either Clone War era blasters, or rapid-fire slug throwers, raiding and abumshing Stormtroopers have made their way into the most popular holo-forums with millions of views coming in everyday. In the meanwhile, as Ilum is engulfed in heavy guerrilla combat, things seem to be escalating quickly, and who knows what will come next as the Republic Fleet is heading towards Ilum.

Elsewhere, warfare and combat seems to be calming down, with the downfall of the Empire. While there were hot-spots of warfare between Remnant Imperial forces and NPP guerrilla groups, things have gotten a lot less violent on many planets. Militia groups once engaged in fighting against the Empire have now been busy at work doing charitable work towards the needy and poor in the Mid and Outer-Rim. In a Standing Politburo Meeting between Stebla and the heads of the party, they all agreed that to better organize and manage these charitable effects, these charitable organs should be organized into the People’s Civil Service - a central authority. While the Totalists and Democratic-Revolutionaries were happy with this, the Radical-Anarchists were not. However, the anarchists were a minor party within the whole of the NPP, with the Totalists and Democratic-Revolutionaries holding the vast amount of power in the National Progressive Party. The People’s Civil Service would quickly be formed with staffers, organizers, workers, and former soldiers. The downfall of the industrial sectors due to the market crash and unpaid slaves would see an influx of people joining this People’s Civil Service (PCS), but how many people? Who knows, time will tell as the PCS starts to flex its legs.

The idealist nature of the party, and the realpolitik side of Stebla had caused some tensions within the NPP. The Hutts and the NPP were not friendly towards each other. In the lower-levels of the NPP, open-hostility was common towards the Hutts - something that Stebla was fine with. In the higher levels, things were more passive aggressive, but hostility was not uncommon. If anything, Stebla saw this alliance as temporary - very temporary with the Hutts, as Stebla have commented.

Lastly, the NPP has been hard at working in campaigning to separate from the Republic. A series of political ads and pro-NPP articles have been published everywhere and on planets. Speakers have been hosting rallies to speak out against the Republic, and have talked about forming their own government for the people, by the people. On the holonet, the NPP have been hard at work, engaging in political debate online. This series of political campaigning have been generally under the guidance of the Census Bureau, an arm of the NPP that does campaigning, and census work - an odd combination.

Tiasha Nuvonn
Coruscant

Tiasha sipped quietly from a glass of wine as she looked out from the wall-height windows of her apartment’s office. The calming trickle from an indoor water feature mounted by the back wall contrasted with the towering cityscape below, helping to set her mind at ease. Beside it, a prominent screen displayed up-to-the-second information from news sources throughout the galaxy, as well as recent economics and market trends both in the Core and in the Outer Rim. She’d been sure to have a hand in every detail of the luxurious room’s design, colouring it with her own unique taste of a practical workspace accented with the modern trappings of wealth. Tiasha had earned herself a reputation as a workaholic, and she knew that she would be spending countless hours toiling away within this room, but she would be damned if it wasn’t a space that she could enjoy. As it was, there were also numerous more subtle features that further enhanced the space’s practicality. One in particular which she had only installed fairly recently.

As Tiasha swiped her hand over a holographic control panel, the shade of the room’s windows shifted ever-so-slightly as they became impenetrable from the outside. At the same time, jammers designed to interfere with any electronic bugs or snooping devices that somehow slipped through the protections throughout Tiasha’s apartment were triggered. Taking a final sip from her wine, the woman delicately placed the glass down on the conference table as she activated the communications relay. It had been thoughtful of the Moff to send the equipment over himself, though Tiasha had of course verified the device’s security for herself. She ran a similar set up to send her reports back to Yuhl, and it wasn’t that she didn’t thought the Moff would betray her so early on. Rather, she had learned that a certain degree of paranoia was a good habit when it came to such things.

Re-reading the man’s letter, Tiasha wore a sly smile at his perfectly ambiguous words. The man was clearly as much of a political operator as he was a military man, and she couldn’t deny that she was impressed by the way he was pulling on the Republic’s strings. From a position of relative weakness, Corelia had maneuvered itself into a dominant hand, forcing the Republic to play the game according to rules of its own making. Tiasha’s interest in the man had only been furthered as she’d done her homework in preparation for their meeting. He was a pragmatist rather than an ideologue, and that was a type of person that she’d find far easier to work with than the bickering wookies or Partisans.

When the Moff’s hologram flickered into life, Tiasha offered the man a polite nod of her head. “Moff Covylus, it is a pleasure to finally speak to you directly.” She began. “I hope that Senator Vitroix will join us shortly, though I’m sure that you understand with recent events on Illum she may be otherwise occupied. Regardless, I hope that all three of our interests may align during these unstable and trying times.”

Markets Settle
Tiasha had been spending significant portions of her time striking deals with businesses and industries in recent days. As the Republic stock market had dived into a freefall, she had convinced the Hutts - with much of their financial interests separate from the Core’s legal apparatus - to invest some of their funds into securing legal assets within the Outer Rim. The investment could be sold as a generous economic boon to the struggling - and oft neglected - region of the galaxy, while also even further integrating the Hutts’ tendrils within their sphere of influence. Tiasha had also made sure to shift some of her own personal funds towards the right markets, doing what she could to take advantage of the current low prices.

When all was wrapped up at the celebration, Gobroo exited the bunker, along with his security detail and his staunchest opponents. Visible anger lined their faces, and the shuttle all three had taken to this backwater planet was somehow even quiter on the way back. In hindsight, the decision to bring one craft was a good one, as any plot to kill him would undoubtedly take everyone else on board as well. Soon, all three had arrived on Kashyyyk, and Oshyk and Akchawwaa were off to the races. They whipped up their subordinate cells in ideological fervor, and quickly broke ties with Gobroo. Many others did the same, either aligning with the developing Ohsyk-Akchawwaa power bloc, or striking out on their own. Scant few years ago all of them were united, fighting Imperial stormtroopers in an underground war. Now, it seemed that none could trust even their closest allies..

Death. That is what was to be forseen. According to Gobroo, and what few friends he had left in the quickly unraveling Freedom Fighters. The organization had been hemorrhaging members in droves ever since the fateful meeting on Salobea. This meeting, which was once viewed as an avenue for a return to stability quickly became a bane for Gobroo. How foolish he was, to think that he could scare his rivals stiff with the threat of a Hutt sanction or a Partisan invasion. That didn't matter anymore. Peace was not meant to last. So he once again convened with his high command, or what was left of it at least. Several empty seats lined the table, each one meant to host a now traitorous Wookiee. And with this rather bleak setting, Gobroo spoke:

'My comrades, we have convened here to discuss something of utmost importance! The future of the Freedom Fighters. We have fought hard for this position, this freedom, this liberty!' he growled. 'And now, some of our highest-ranking, most skilled members, have decided to run contrary to this goal. They have broken rank with us, and have fled to the cold embrace of space, or to the wretched arms of that New Republic! They are traitors. Traitors to liberty, traitors to me, traitors to you. And what shall we do with these traitors..'

With their membership reduced to only Gobroo's staunchest supporters, any motions were quickly passed. Plots were concocted, plans drawn up. First, they would gather information. Meeting times, meeting places, iteneraries, intel regarding the whereabouts of their marks. Then they would target the generals. Those in charge. Blaster bolts, thermal detonators, vehicular sabotage, anything that could conceivably kill a Wookiee was on the table. After that, the lower-ranking. Officers, soldiers, those within the nebulous bottom portion of their command structure. Those under the command of the enemy, they'd be rounded up and made to re-affirm their loyalty. If they resisted, then they would be eliminated. They had offered the Imperials no quarter, and now they shall offer these traitors none as well. It was a purge, meant to thin out the ranks and get rid of increasingly rebellious elements. But it was still only on paper, as something of this magnitude, conducted on the scale of a sprawling resistance movement would take some time to prepare.

Sorry for any mistakes I make with regards to history while roleplaying in historical RPs. Also I am not a qualified historian or academic. None of the make-believe I do is likely to stand up to academic scrutiny.
