Crimson skies Role play sign up

Postby Finnian Bastada » Mon Mar 02, 2020 9:23 pm

Hey all fell into the crimson skies universe the other day, and well they’re not making more games anytime soon, so I decided to do a role play set in the crimson skies universe. We will use the same geopolitics of the games, you will run a pirate crew or militia. Tech limits are as follows;
No jets
Max machine gun caliber is .50 cal
Max auto cannon is 30mm
Max artillery/ships gun is 4”
Your zeppelin is limited 20 fighters of standard single engine WW2 fighter ie Mustang or spitfire etc....
Larger planes up to A-26 or B-25 sized may be carried however these aircraft take up 2 hanger spots.
Zeppelins can be armed with up to 20 heavy guns these guns are up to 4”.
Aircraft can be from the crimson skies universe, real world designs including prototypes, or a personal design using 30s-1946 tech, aircraft can be armed with machine guns (up to .50 cal), auto cannons (up to 30mm) or un guided rockets (HVAR rockets of late ww2 would be a good example). I know they’re are some electrical based weapons in some of the games but for sake of ease let’s ignore those please.
Please sign up below with some basic information about your pirate gang or Militia, also please don’t start huge limit yourself to 2-3 zeppelins max to start.
Role play page is here:

Don't know very much about Crimson Skies either, but seems fun. I've been getting tired of simple nation RP, so this will add a new level to my thought (probably). Research will definitely assist me here.

Crew Name: Groupe de Voyages Aéroportés
Leaders Name: Capitaine Aulize Gazouiller
Zeppelin name: Palais de la République
Home base: Shreveport, French Louisiana
Main area of operations: Primarily what was once the Louisiana Territory.

edit: I just realized how old this is

Edit II: Hmm, I might be a little impatient.

Ohh Crimson Skies.

Still got my copy of the PC game from when I brought it back when it came out in 2000.

Got an idea for a British outfit, will have to do the app later.

Gonna try to get a post up soon, though had a question regarding aircraft.

Was thinking of taking some de Havilland Hornets (from the FASA tabletop game), but would it be out of the question to have a flight of 4 Bristol Balmorals? (the latter appearing in the PC game)

That would be fine just remember that larger airframes take 2 hanger slots.

Yep, that's fair....checking the stats the Balmoral is easily twice the size of a Hornet (granted Balmoral has folding wings for zeppelin stowage).

Works out as 8 Balmorals, 12 Hornets.

Should be able to get a post up later whilst I'm at work, pretty quiet at the moment.
