Yugoslavia's back baby...

How the hell did this happen?
Well...we don't actually know. Just sort of happened one day.
Is it a reunited Yugoslavia in the 21st century? Is a rebel colony world in the far future? Is it a race of cyborg neo-life at war with any assimilating organisms they come across in the far far future? Who knows, who cares?
New Yugoslavia just is.

NS Name: Mercatus
Nation/Organization Name: Outer Belt Confederation
Flag (Spoiler Images): Uh...
Claim (Pick an empty one from the Roster): Pallas and Hygiea
Capitol/Base of Operations: Hygiea Capitol Station
Main Industries: Asteroid mining, hydrogen mining, metal refining, shipbuilding, arms manufacture, R&D
History (Keep Timeline in mind): The Confederation has its roots in the Corporate bodies and rebel forces that began to fight against UN tyranny in 2102, and after the UN crackdown they took to the shadows, with the corporations quietly funding rebel groups as well as building up their own force. Separatists on Pallas formed an alliance with the Separatists on Hygiea after the two-month siege crippled Hygiea's people and economy, and the two worlds began to work together to eventually rise up against the UN sometime in the future. Later, in the 2140s and 50s, the Belt Separatists assisted the Martian forces in the belt with raiding UN shipyards, armories, and refineries. After the Martians returned home, the Separatists gave themselves a new name: the Outer Belt Confederation, and spent the next years fighting off the UN remnants around Hygiea and Pallas. However, the Inner Planet presence in the Belt was still there, and the Confederate forces assisted Belt and Outer Planet rebels in defending and attacking Ceres in the many times it changed hands during the Cold War. In 2234, the Confederation declared Hygiea and Pallas to be independent and under their control, but this never really came into effect until the Final Belt Insurgency, in which the Confederate Forces launched multiple devastating attacks on Inner Planet outposts and strongholds within the area of Pallas and Hygiea. In the aftermath of becoming independent, the Confederation was quick to establish itself as an economic power in the belt, with the orbital paths of Hygiea and Pallas being advantageous for exporting the ships, materials, and weapons manufactured in the belt because they could ship faster to more locations. However, with this economic opportunity came inevitable danger: pirates. Pirates had become a huge problem for mining companies, ship and arms manufacturers, traders, and especially for the R&D companies, as their valuable cargo was coveted for the immense value it had or high-quality ships they carried. Citizen militias began to take root, escorting freighters, mining vessels, and test pilots, as well as providing what may very well be the most capable station security in the outer Solar System. Even after this, piracy was still common, arguably the highest levels in the Solar System, but successful piracy became rarer and rarer, and mining companies now had more room to breath in. Prospectors expanded their efforts to the seldom-explored deep space above and below the Solar System's plane, and found massive clouds of hydrogen gas, ready to be extracted and refined into reactor fuel. After companies and private miners flocked to stake their claim, the Outer Belt Confederation became a huge supplier of ship fuel to the outer planets, and became the second most extracted resource in the Belt, falling behind only the almost exorbitant amount of Platinum extracted from asteroids by Confederate miners. Along with this newfound growth, R&D companies began to base their operations in the vicinity of Pallas, either orbiting the asteroid or placing a station far out enough to orbit the Sun. Because of Pallas' non-uniform orbit, the nearly 4-year orbital period provided a variety of testing environments for ships, weapons, and other technology that has yet to be released on the market. A well known controversy occurred after this period of economic growth when vessels carrying private citizens from the Inner Planets were destroyed by Confed Security forces for "violating their space." The vehemently anti-inner planet attitude of the Confed citizens and government was well known, but the destruction of the vessels, reportedly a commercial liner and a few escorts, was met with outrage from the Stellar community, and demands by the press for Confed to pay reparations to all of the victim's families were frequent. The Governor of the Confederation made a statement approximately two weeks after the incident, saying that all travel through Confederation territory by citizens, government workers, and military with an inner planet origin would be responded to with deadly force, and that reparations would not be paid to those who violated their sphere of Sovereignty. The CBG (Confederate Border Guard) was and is still on high alert for travelers and illegal immigrants, with more cases like the one mentioned becoming more and more frequent as patrol efforts are stepped up, and this crackdown has been met with outrage by Opinionated Press and Humanitarian groups, and from the looks of things, the climate could get more heated should the Border Guard list humanitarian vessels as valid targets for termination. After the plans for the UN's FTL drive were released, R&D companies and the Military jumped on the opportunity, and shipbuilding companies have been working with R&D to release an FTL-capable line of vessels to the general consumer within the next decade. The Military's work with FTL remains top secret.
Culture: The populace are the descendants of American prospectors and mercenaries, and they retain the extremely pro-market, conservative attitude their ancestors did. English is the most commonly spoken language, and the citizens believe in a small government. Hard work, ingenuity, and militia or military service are highly valued traits, with almost everyone who doesn't enlist officially devoting part of their time to citizen-created militias, which serve as civilian escorts and security on the local level. Citizens are fiercely patriotic and anti-UN, having avidly fought a war of secession against them, and tend to view people not from the Confederation or the outer planets with suspicion. The right to bear arms is held in a seemingly sacred place in the citizen's hearts, open carry of weapons and heavily armed ships are commonly seen. Pirates are viewed as the scum of the universe in the Confederation, and often groups of people will gather and go on a "pirate hunt", which is a favorite pastime of pilots. Leftism is taken very much as insulting and a public nuisance, and is quickly dealt with by the people or law enforcement. Mining is another important part of Outer Belt culture, as it is often the career path that civilians take when not on militia duty, and the stories told by miners of pirate encounters, strange occurrences, and other things are something that everyone, young and old, gathers to hear. There is also a strong artisan element in the Confederation, with many constructing at least one ship from scratch in their lifetime. The lounges and bars present on space stations are a great way to purchase high-quality blueprints for ships, weapons, mining drills, and other pieces of equipment that show the scope of ship customization and optimization.
Military Population (no more than 5%): 100000 active duty, 10204 guardsmen/domestic security personnel
Fleet Size: 120 large capital ships including carriers, 150 frigate-sized and small destroyer-type vessels, 12500 fighter craft, bombers, and other small vessels.
Military Info: The navy is not divided into regiments or battle groups, as it is considered too small to have to allocate vessels in such a way, however, foot soldiers are divided into regiments. Military vessels will fire on ships from Mercury, Venus, and Earth if they enter Confed Monitored space. Despite low tax revenue, the military has high-quality equipment and top-notch ships due to the profits they gain from surplusing their older equipment, ships, and weapons, as well as the huge stocks they buy of profitable companies. The military does not submit itself to arms treaties or conventions of any kind, and therefore employs weapons that are considered illegal by interplanetary law. Certain partisan regiments of Marines and other foot soldiers are permitted by law to pillage. The military also has a "no-prisoners" policy towards non-essential targets or persons, and assets considered nonessential to the success of a mission are promptly terminated. A huge emphasis is placed on the importance of preventing boarders or enemy vessels from reaching a target through use of overwhelming force in space, with the Navy making up most of the enlisted persons and military budget. Hit-and-run tactics are frequently used when raiding larger convoys because of the relatively small size of the Navy compared to some Navies.

Your navy is literally the size of the UN home fleet, the strongest planet in the solar system, contested mainly only by mars. Plus, I think you can only be one place.

just some criticism

NS Name: Bolslania
Nation/Organization: Republic of Tethys
Flag:

Claim (Pick an empty one from the Roster): Tethys
Capitol/Base of Operations: Keygate City
Main Industries: Privateers, Mercenaries, Shipbuilding, some gold mining
History (Keep Timeline in mind): Tethys' history begins in 2126,with beyond the belt exploration and colonization starting. Tethys was one of the earlier moons to be settled, in 2132, but eventually left the Inner yoke and became a quiet little moon. The Tethysians set up a representative democracy and built up infrastructure and technology without much interference from the Inners. Recently Thethys has popped back on stage as a.major ship builder and provider of people who can make problems go away. Since then, Tethysian factories have been pumping out all sorts of ships, from freighters, to yachts, to warships. Tethysian privateers and mercenaries were a relatively recent development, providing their services to local governments and corporations. Inner proxy wars and Corporation security services are common spots of work for Tethysians. Privateers tend to work for the Tethys government, but sell their services to others. Tethys has been mostly left alone, but is involved in belt trading and Inner proxy wars.
Culture: Descended from Earther colonists, Tethysians kept on to some Earth cultural traditions. SoTeyhysian culture is a bundle of German, English, and French traditions primarily. Teyhysians tend to be inexpressive or impassive. They say what they mean, no more, no less. Implying something other than you said is not a thing in Tethsian society. Tethysians are very mission oriented, with a mission-before-the-man belief.Teyhysians tend towards the stoic side, extravagance not being a focus. Life on Tethys has instructed the MimasTethysians to put usefulness and practicality above all else, and drains on society are not tolerated. On Tethys, everyone has a role to play.
Military Population (no more than 5%): 5%
Fleet Size: Combat-ready warships roster:
10 Keygate Class Carriers
16 Canterbury Class Heavy Cruisers
19 Rocinante Class Light Cruisers
22 Scopuli Class Frigates
20 Tachi Class Frigates
15 Donnager Class Destroyers
35 Tycho Class Multi-purpose gunships
Plus estimated 200 other privateer owned vessels

Military Info: The majority of the Mimasian military are Privateers plundering the stars. However, Mimas' actual military is nothing to joke about. The are well trained and equipped, more than a match for most Belt or moons. The military is kept out of standard affairs only being used on external matters.

Changed the number of large capital ships to 120. Would 12500 of the small craft be too much? Because the info states most service members are in the Navy, and most of those small craft would be station launched or planet-launched.

Sorry for not posting recently, activity in another RP picked up so I got snatched for a bit.

Expect a post sometime this weekend, at most.

Is this dead?
Yugoslavia's back baby...

How the hell did this happen?
Well...we don't actually know. Just sort of happened one day.
Is it a reunited Yugoslavia in the 21st century? Is a rebel colony world in the far future? Is it a race of cyborg neo-life at war with any assimilating organisms they come across in the far far future? Who knows, who cares?
New Yugoslavia just is.

I wouldn't say so, it's just a bit slow at the moment.

Umm, I think it's safe to say this place is kind of...dead.

It kinda died a while back. Only popped back on because Vacif mentioned someone posting on discord. Been floating around the idea of reviving it since I have a stupid amount of free time right now, but I don't know.

I'd certainly be interested, though might pitch jiggling around the population a bit more and maybe introducing some internal divisions within the individual inner planets? Could be fun if the UN and Mars are individually very powerful, but are really collections of semi-independent nation-states that can be played by multiple players?

Hello I was interested in joining your RP. I was wondering if the moon of Dione is still available to play?
