The leader of the United Mafia is a young, powerful, and ambitious Mafia Queen, Aurora Von Staffen. Having recently taken over the entire mob, Von Staffen will not hesitate to order the deaths of her enemies. The Mafia's word is law and anyone who opposes them disappears. In other words, the USA is quite literally ruled by an evil, all-powerful Disney princess.
However, the Mafia is not invincible. There is a resistance movement.
The Antiheroes are a group of vigilantes comprised of street level crime fighters, magic users, disillusioned ex cops and people with special gifts. Their leader is the enigmatic, charismatic, ruthless magic user, Ander Kalden. Kalden will stop at nothing to end the United Mafia. To achieve this, he has formed an alliance with the New York Liberation Army, a group of paramilitary fighters seeking to end corruption in US government.
After murdering several Mafia captains, the resistance makes a stand at the Battle of New York where they, against overwhelming odds and facing nearly the entire Mafia, emerge victorious, liberating the city for the first time in history from the death crews.
However, the Mafia Queen remains at large. Retreating into the shadows where she vows to rebuild her entire army and take back what is hers, Aurora has initiated the Red Protocol.
The Red Protocol is a systematic masterplan to eliminate all of the Mafia's civilian enemies once and for all. The Kill List is comprised of over 10 million American civilians, including businesspeople, politicians, ordinary citizens, and children. To execute the Red Protocol, the Mafia Queen has activated thousands of sleeper agents all over the American country from coast to coast. A network of hardened Mafia killers operate from the shadows, conducting murders using guns, bombs, and poison. A Mafia-backed government puts all of the blames on the Antiheroes and the NYLA.
However, the Antiheroes refuse to give up. They will not rest. Not until the entire United Mafia is brought down, from foot soldier to queen.

Some of this sounds familiar to you (because this RP is a time split from some of the events in the Antihero Force RP which is still in-progress and will also continue until Conclusion). Both RPs will continue to run but they will be treated as different universes. It was requested by a player and since I have a very keen interest in the Mafia Queen OC, I have agreed to allow this and run it to explore, another take on the same story.
This RP will differ from the still on-going Antihero Force thread in that in this timeline, the Confederate States never declared independence. As such, it becomes even more challenging for the heroes to win because they will have to, without having access to any standing military or government, take on the entire Mafia.
Greater Vakolicci Haven has requested to act as a co-OP for this iteration and I have agreed to allow him to be in complete control of the sign up process (all sign ups will need to be approved by him).
A couple of things to keep in mind:
This is intended to be a very dark, very violent, but still very strategic RP.
The players will work together as part of a team to take oppose the United Mafia.
Rules:
1. OP's word is law
2. Please respect fellow players
3. From time to time, OP will write in order to resolve player actions
4. The RP will alternate between the Resolve mechanic and the Free Stye mechanic for combat, the assumed default state unless stated otherwise is the Resolve mode (Resolve = post until an action starts affecting another player or an NPC, stop the post there, wait for the OP to post and resolve... Free Style mechanic allows for limited control of NPCs to facilitate smoother fight sequences and better narrative flow)
Only a limited number of players will be allowed to have magical powers (but everyone can have a certain amount of exceptional abilities). Hopefully we can get a team with different personalities and different strengths and weaknesses.
