Twenty five would be the accidental empire scenario where Ralnis leaves for India and The Nestos League splits Mesopotamia, forming it into part of the Nestos League or as some call it The Imperial League. It also would be the death of Penelope, the formation of the Imperial harem, with queens from several places like Crete and other places. An unexpected change in dynamic. Just a thought. It also might be a devastating war with Empire of Man also depending on how things go. Or a kind of ideological game where we try and gain hearts and minds.

I am trying to make sense of my characters. There are way too many of them. I have to pare them down.

Nestos League Characters
Ada – Glassblower who studied in Aksum.

Warrior Ajax-- Husband of Scholar Aprus. Teaches exercise at the school in Harappa and hunts.

Alec the Badger-- Noble Thracian. Ally of Victor Spear. Has since passed away in a hunting accident with a bear.

Scholar Alcibiades-- Scholar from Oak. Poet, politician, diplomat, trickster, liar, all around ladies man.

Scholar Aprus-- Founder of the school in Harappa for medicine and botany. Scholar naturalist.

Trader Barrabas-- Originally from Eridu was an outcast noble and became a wandering mercenary and slaver. Given a second chance by Victor Spear. Became a merchant and warrior for Oak.

Scholar Bassaba-- Scholar naturalist focused on greenhouses, bamboo, gardening, and mixing. Works in the Tower of Learning at Oak.

Scholar Basvaris-- Scholar of animals. Fascinated with elephants. Head of the Menagerie at Oak. Traveled to the Zoo at Hierakonopolis.

Scholar Belamun-- A follower of Scholar Etana. Explored the Danube and collected tools. Specialist in the study of tools.

Scholar Belisarius-- A scholar who grew bitter after working with Hand Snake. Also worked on the expedition into Arabia and went to Gdansk. Would rather be traveling than in Oak.

Priestess Cassandra-- Follower of the Celestial Goddess and the Great Bull. Helped found the temple at Santorini. Combined heliocentrism, astronomy, astrology, and some mathematics in the building of the temple. Involved in arranging for the construction of the observatory at Santorini.

Scholar Charnabon-- Wandering scholar and builder. Traveled on the Danube and to Harappa.

Scholar Cosmosickus-- Naturalist and translator. Serving at the court of Troy at the request of Victor Spear.

David-- Orphan and glassblower from Salt.

Scholar Diop-- Translator of the Aksumite language. Worked on the church codes.

Warrior Eumolpus-- Explorer of the Danube River. Hunter warrior.

Captain Gamunk-- Captain of the Barrel Bell ship in Sumeria.

Danilo-- Glassblower and orphan. Christian who lives at the orphanage at Salt.

Priest Darian-- Priest of Sabazius. Friend of Victor Spear. Studied Victor Spear when he was first found. Has passed away from old age.

Scholar Den-- An Egytian originally from the House of Life. Was exiled and wandered collecting tales of animals and plants and practicing medicine. Eventually reached Oak where he worked extensively on animals, plants, and medicines. Considered the First Scholar. Has a cult following.

Hand Diaghis-- General for Oak, warrior, strategist, hunter, keeper of dogs, and farmer. Nicknamed Wolf of the Sea.

Dicomes-- A nobleman of Varna. Has since passed from cancer.

Scholar Judge Dulas-- Prosecutor of Scholar Abrofonon who performed dissection on living humans. Scholar Abrofonon suffered an accident during her confinement.

Hand Enyo-- Warrior woman. Studied under Zia with Sitalkes. Horse woman and wagon master.

Scholar Etana-- Leader of a sect of scholars who believe mathematics and engineering reveal the divine plan of existence. Engineer, mathematician, and vegetarian. Maker of siege engines and studier of Sumerian optics and astronomy.

Euterpe-- A follower of the Gardeners who believe Victor Spear is the god of gardening.

Hand Hossia-- Nubian warrior and Hand of Oak. Served Oak in several conflicts. Returned to Nubia for several years, then came back to spend his time at the Menagerie at Oak. He is old and losing his sight.

Scholar Hunkhabek-- A philosopher and writer. Has opened a press at Salt where he distributes Christian works. He also writes about Den, the Daughters of Penelope, the philosophy of the Followers of Etana.

Scholar Hypatia-- Founded the Students and Scholars Association at Abdera. Studies the oceans and maps, but spends most of her time administering the college and discussing philosophy. Dislikes Victor Spear.

Ina-- Queen of Varna. Hot headed. Has a husband, Dotos who is well liked, but does whatever Ina wants.

Scholar Ishtar-- A member of the Scholar Translation Committee.

Brother Johnathan-- A glassworker and christian brother from Salt.

Scholar Kug Bau-- The son of Barrabas. Works on the scholar translation committee and the new library of works at Anbar which contains lots of material from Sumeria.

Fisherman Leonidas-- A fisherman.

Scholar Doctor Lukics, Originally a priest of the Temple of the Body Parts. Lost faith and studied to become a scholar. Personal physician to Victor Spear. Also writes about medicine.

Scholar Builder Minos-- A builder and follower of Scholar Scorylo.

Hand Niko-- Now scholar Niko. Led an insurgency against the Kraken. When the insurgency was finished, he headed back to Oak where he studied for and passed the Scholars Exam. Is interested in maps and map making.

Trader Odysseuss-- A trader in bicycle machines who went to Ur to sell them.

Scholar Orola-- A designer and seller of bicycle machines.

Warrior Ondaz-- A warrior who helped explore Arabia.

Scholar Penelope-- Originally was a priestess of Hecate, an herbalist and midwife. Learned distillation from Victor Spear. Also studied gardening with Victor Spear. Became a scholar. Getting older with a bent back. One of the First Scholars.

Peter-- A mute glassblower from the christian orphanage at Salt.

Sarah-- A mother from the christian orphanage at Salt.

Scholar Scilla-- From Abdera, diplomat, trader, linguist, scholar of the oceans and shipping.

Scholar Scorylo-- Started as a stone mason and builder. Traveled to both Egypt and Mesopotamia to learn about building. Instrumental in working with Sumerians to make the terraced gardens at Oak as well as the walls around Oak. One of the First Scholars. Passed away from old age.

Sitalkes-- Great warrior of the Thracians. Led the resistance against the Kurgan. Follower of the Celestial Bull and the Great Goddess. Has retired and is training the next generation of warriors at the Gymnasium at Oak in the Upright Way.

Scholar Spartacus-- Studied the Kraken boats and helped make the first outrigger boats. Involved in the design of seafaring vessels.

Hand Snake-- A master of poisons and poisonous animals. Works in the back of the Poison Garden.

Tad-- Follower of the Celestial Goddess and the Great Bull at Santorini

Thea-- Priestess of the Great Goddess at Santorini.

Scholar Tuvarek-- High functioning autistic and savant. Has worked extensively mixing formulas and ingredients in the Tower of Learning. Needs an attendant to help with every day life, but scientifically strong. Extensive experimentation with glass.

Trader Ulysses-- Trader who controls the silphium trade. Also controls the sponge diving trade. Learned that if you turned a pot upside down it traps air from a visiting scholar. This led to him being able to send men underwater longer starting his domination of the sponge trade.

Trader Vezina-- A trader from Varna.

Xylo-- Keeper of the warehouse of failed experiments. Handler of dangerous materials. Odd ball and eccentric without a specific profession.

Zelmis-- A follower of the gardeners.

Zia-- Wandering warrior and tribesman. Mentor to Sitalkes and Enyo. Passed away.

Scholar Zoutoula-- Studied the Aksumite language. Helped translate the church codes.

Foreign Characters

Trader Alexei-- Father of Trader Cenric.

Trader Aelfric-- A trader who works with Cenric.

Trader Bran-- A trader near Aren. Owns a farm where the traders often stop.

Cadmus-- The leader of the Illyrians.

Cecrops-- The leader of the council of Athens

Trader Cenric-- The trader who first made it to Varna with amber for trade. Responsible for extensive trade in amber, coral, garnets, pearls, shells, and other valuable substances. Has worked extensively with Victor Spear on the amber and spice trade.

Trader Darian-- Trader Bran's wife. Runs the farm.

Ekanga-- A hunter in Harappa. Hunts with Warrior Ajax.

Eric the Blacksmith-- Chrstian from Vinceia in the Imperium of Man.

Dardanus-- King of Troy

Trader Jan-- Imperium of Man trader in glass and textiles as well as goats.

Mixer Jan – Early chemist from Gdansk.

Kemal-- Master bronze worker from Turkey. Now has ventured into ironwork.

Khufu-- Elder Egyptian scribe and translator. Close friend of Basvaris. Reports back to the Egyptian bureaucracty.

Kutik-- An advisor to the King of the Elamites. Flowery speaker.

Nastasen and Piye-- Animal handlers for the elephants and more dangerous animals at the menagerie at Oak.

Trader Oleg-- A trader near Aren.

Commander Paul-- A christian soldier from Singidun in the Imperium of Man. Took the name Paul when he was baptized.

Headman Rodavan Son of Georg-- A tribal leader who hunted with Eumolpus on the Danube river.

Captain Rosalia-- Riverboat captain on the Danube her traded her old boat to Scholar Naxos for a variety of trade goods.

Perfumist Sabra-- A perfumist from Uruk.

Schmidt and Wolf-- Own a small press for newspapers, pamphlets, posters and advertisements on the Danube.

Sedume-- Courtier and bureaucrat from Ebla. Resides in Ebla.

Sekhmet-- Master Egyptian Carpenter, maker of beds, trebuchets, and chairs. Works in the Tower of Learning.

Sennefer-- Builder and farmer. Returned to Egypt and has disappeared into the bureaucracy in Memphis, Egypt.

Ur-Sutur-- Queen of Ur.

Wend-- A flutist and storyteller in Market Town near the base of Vistula.

Cucuteni

The Grey Fox-- Diplomat and elder of the Cucuteni.

Koros-- Cucuteni

Stone Moon-- Cucuteni Woman

Tree-- Cucuteni Warrior

Red Lizard-- Cucuteni Warrior

Enemies
Alulim-- A noble warror who aligned with Uruk in Mesopotamia

Boris One Eye-- Enemy of Sitalkes, has since passed away.

Scholar Kabur-- Exiled scholar who tried to claim Victor Spear was the god of gardening.

Scribe Kalbum-- Inventor of optics for Uruk. Despises Ur and the Nestos League.

Liam-- Storyteller and musician. Enemy of Oak. Follower of Rolph.

Rolph-- Philosophical enemy of Victor Spear. Has disappeared.

Maybe try focusing in on a few of them universal so we can see some more detail about their characters and motivations beyond their missions.

Are we thinking sometime soon this month? I’d like to know how long the time skip is and start writing before university starts up again.

I hope so, I want to get some writing in too. Before that though we’ve got to work out the time skip and who’s doing what where.
