From the fellows inspired by JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run...

Theme
The year is 1900.
Nearing the events that would lead to the first World War and amisdt the end of the era of American history what we know as the Wild West, the 28th President of the United States Ashton Ashford and local entrepreneur Kurt Simpson collaborated in an ambitious effort to create a wonderous event to celebrate the turn of the century; The Cannonball Run, where jockeys, cowboys, mercenaries, sportsmen, gentlemen, duellists and the curious alike would come from all over the world to engage in a race from San Diego to New York that would go day by day, the winner getting a prie of 50 million dollars and a trophy whose worth triumphs any victory in the Olympics, the Super Bowl or the Academy Awards.

Little did the public know of the secret that laid underneath the tracks of the riders; those who did know regarded it as a myth; the parts of the corpses of the seven mighty archangels located on 'St. Robert's Blood Trail', with whoever touches them gaining powers from a fraction of their life force. Some, including a notorious group of pirates from the British port of Roanapur, as well as rumors of assassins under hire by the government, have eyes set on these corpse parts

Welcome to TUSK: The first NS roleplay that I have OP'd. You'll be playing as a jockey participating in a race across America divided into 9 stages; starting from San Diego in California and ending at Manhattan in New York. It may seem like good sport all-in-all, but those who believe truly in the mysterious legend of Gabriel's Trail will be in not to win the race, but to win something greater and powerful. However, the President has his connections, and there may be a few who seek to gather the corpse parts for the nation, while others may take them for themselves selfishly, or leave them be in order to focus on the task at hand.

Regular: Humans and peak humans with no real supernatural abilities lie here. Best be on your toes, and carry your weapon with good skill, bet it a sword, a gun, or your bare hands.

Powereds: Hamon, Spin and Corpse users lie here.



Cyborgs: People who have been altered with the newfound steampunk technology to be able to increase their strength or simply replace what they've lost. A force to reckon with, unless you know where to strike.

Vampires: Those who have had contact with the Liar's Mask can become vampires. They will be unable to move around during the day, as they burn up in the sun, lest they stay in shelter or cover themselves up, but otherwise they are immensely powerful, being able to partially manipulate their bodies, have a slow healing factor which allows them to reattach severed body parts (but not regrow them), super strength and even condense their bodily fluid into a water jet able to shoot through stone columns. They are, however, majorly weak to fire, sunlight and Hamon, and as such must take precautionary measures against them.

Zombies: Even weaker than their Vampire counterparts, the Zombies are almost exactly like vampires. However, their body is very slowly decomposing with no healing factor to save them, their personality is corrupted and intelligence somewhat reduced, they tend to be extremely aggressive and they retain the sunlight and Hamon weakness. Their strength is still on par with a gorilla, however, and they should not be underestimated.

Rock Humans: Rock Humans are a seperately developed humanoid lifeform who resemble humans - save for their rocky, tough skin that makes them as physically durable as bricks. Rock Humans develop these differences due to being sillicon-based lifeforms instead of carbon, and also live in seperate societies due to having the tendency to go into a state of hibernation as a rock for up to 25 years; and consistently staying awake for the same amount. Spin is an effective tool against Rock humans at it effectively chips away at this stony skin.

Pillar Men: Their existence is doubtable and they're extremely rare, almost mythical, but these 10 foot Amazonians are extremely powerful being with complete manipulation of their bodies and extraordinary powers, the only ones known to exist currently in hiberation in a cave in Mexico.

Hamon: Also knows as Ripple or Sendo, Hamon is an ancient martial art relying on a breathing technique that allows a person to manipulate sunlight-based energy and use it in barehanded combat techniques, as well as heal, though it requires the person to breathe naturally and cannot transfer through not-natural material such as metal or plastic, so no, your hamon gun or sword will only trasnfer through briefly, that is if you know the 'Metal Silver Overdrive' Technique. Experienced Hamon masters can use up to 10 techniques at base, but with gradual practice, can learn more. Also, only 1 in every 1,000 people have the ability to harness such power. See more here

Spin: Spin is an evolution of Hamon, one that manipulates rotational kinetic energy instead of the Sun. It has an even bigger multitude of powers alongside it, though the main ability is to maximise the destructive capacity of a thrown object, as well as bring energy to muscles, utilisting the Fibonacci spiral as a base. THe more symmetrical a spun weapons object is, the more loyal it will be to the spiral, the more powerful it can be. However, Spin users cannot heal themselves, and cannot gain powers from contact with the corpse. However, they can manifest their Fighting Spirit if they utilise Golden Spin, which requires the vvehicle they're riding on to be at it's most natural pace and synchronised with the Golden Rectangle, which has immensively destructive power. The spin can only be utilised by a Neapolitan or someone who was tuaght by a Neapolitan. See More Here

Corpse: The corpse parts of the seven Archangels consist of Michael's Hand, Gabriel's Eye, Raphael's Foot, Uriel's Heart, Selaphiel's Head, Raguel's Arm and Barachiel's Spine. They are located at random points on the map, though nobody knows exactly where they are. However, most who touch them are imbued with some kind of superpower. This can identify as a base power such as pyrokineses, or perhaps a "Fighting Spirit" (otherwise known as a Stand) that can wield said power itself, though only those who have had contact with the corpse can see these spirits. It is said that if one were to gather all the corpse parts, unspeakable amounts of power and fortune would come to them.

Since this is Steampunk, let's assume we have around WW1 tech with the Wild West aesthetic. You may see hot air balloons, spotter aircraft and a few very primitive film cameras, plus some cinemas to show off a 'newsreel' of the events of the race, as well as radio and newspaper. Officers and high figures still have swords alongside their pistols, but many still carry revolvers, lever-action rifles, double-barrel and pump action shotguns, derringers, muskets, bolt-action rifles and melee weapons. Some of the more presitigious and tech-savvy ones even carry semi-automatic pistols and rifles, as well as submachine guns. Gatling and Maxim machine guns are also present.
Political differences will be the existence of an independent Kingdom of Naples and independent Texas you can go through in the race, so picture as you will.

1. Weapons beneath to heavy-calibre and towed weapons such as cannons and flamethrowers can be carried as either a decoration piece or to fend against bandits. However, any detected usage against other competitors during a race will result in a disqualification for the stage. Fistfights, duels and the like will be resovled outside the races. Repeated offenses will lead them to be banned from the rest of the race.
2. The race is divided into 9 stages.
3. Up to 100 can compete in the race, but only the top 25 will score in any case. Any slot not filled by a player character will be filled by an NPC.
4. Racing is not limited to horses, but is recommended; competitors can use not only horses, but donkeys, camels, mechas, chariots, bicycles, motorcycles, the new automobile, even their own legs if they have the ability are allowed. However, aircraft is strictly prohibited.

1. OP's word is law. No exceptions.
2. You can have a bit of romance and violent action, but please, fade all the graphicness to black. I don't want to read a paragraph on you skinning someone alive or your little smut scene. Save it for telegrams, at least.
3. Unlike other sports RPs, we won't rely on that RNG system for who wins and loses. Instead, you'll be utilising your brain to the max, yet keeping in character, going for the detours, cheating, whatever your character does to win or lose. But keep in mind the system and rules of the race.
4. Don't godmod or metagame. There might be some powerful powers but you'll have to work your way around them using tactics. I won't allow time manipulation or anything resulting in instakill without a significant weakness.
5. Speaking of powers, whenever a player comes into contact with a corpse part, depending on what the player wants, he can either get temporarily sick or faint but gain a new power. Once the first player develops his power through the corpse, I'll make an app template for him to use.
6. You character can be the most evil person ever, whether a rapist, a murderer on the run or the CEO of EA, but please, keep the toxicity in IC. I don't want any arguments with players.
7. Apping as a Pillar Man or someone with a corpse power from the start is strictly forbidden.
8. We'll be using elements and making references to a ton of Western films, as well as JoJo and Black Lagoon, though we will try as best as we can to include everyone here, so if there's something you don't understand about your power, talk to me.

Bio: Born in 1884 Western Kentucky, Bobby Pruitt was fascinated  by nature and technology,  In 1895, He invented The Electro-storm detector. It forecasts tornadoes by monitoring storm electrical activity. When its light  turns  green and starts beeping loudly, that  means a tornado  is  probably hitting  within 15  minutes. He  licensed thes rights to Buick and made  the  both  of  them filthy rich, too. Bobby  is sponsored by Buick, because they want to get into both the booming civilian and military  walker mech  suit  business.

Personality: Likeable,  kindly, honorable, brave help.  Will  help  other  racers as needed. Loves dogs and cats.  Has Boo-Boo, a miniature red daschund dog  at  his side. Christian.

Bio: Krauser was born in Omaha, Nebraska, as the 5th child to a German immigrant couple from Hesse. His father, a decorated war hero and veteran of the 32nd Indiana Infantry Regiment, one of the Union's first all-German infantry regiments, had settled down in the city of Nebraska as a journalist, working at the Omaha Tribüne. He and his wife were forty-eighters, liberal revolutionaries from the German states that travelled to America in pursuit of a better life. As the family's fifth child out of 7, Karl was mostly left to his own devices, and wasn't given as much care or attention as a child should. This lack of care eventually evolved into undiagnosed mental health problems for young Karl. At the age of 17, Karl ran away from home, and joined a band of outlaws in the Nebraskan countryside, robbing travellers and settlers. He was but a lad of eighteen when he killed his first man, a rich banker that tried to run.

In 1894, the bandits rode west to Colorado. The increasing urbanisation led to the foundation of primitive forms of law enforcement in the Nebraskan territories, and the band hoped that they could outrun authorities. Whilst on the road to New Mexico, where they hoped to harass incoming settler treks, the band got into a drunken disagreement with a local Cheyenne tribe. Most of the bandits were slain, but Krauser, who abstained from drinking alcohol due to his puritan German upbringing, managed to get away. After the loss of his friends, he rode north, back to Colorado Springs, where he lived unhappily as a rke around town. Once he heard of the Cannonball Run, he immediately set for California, deeming it as something that could finally bring some purpose to his life. He'd practically lived on the saddle for half his life, and believed that he had a clear shot at winning the race. Once he collected all he had, he got on his steed and rode for San Diego to partake in this new larger-than-life race across the United States.
Personality: Joseph usually sticks to himself, and isn't that outgoing or trusting. His strict upbringing in a puritan German household and the loss of his friends at the hands of native Americans can be blamed for his relatively antisocial behaviour, as well as undiagnosed mental health issues from his childhood. Spending most of his time as an outlaw and a bandit, Joseph will not shy away from using dirty tricks to hinder his competition in the race.
Equipment/Weaponry: Due to his history as a ruffian, Krause is somewhat familiar with firearms, and though he's never had the funds to buy the newest, most expensive guns, he tries to make do with captured equipment. Currently, he's got a captured Smith & Wesson Schofield, a Colt Single Action army, and a Colt Lightning Carbine. His preferred pistol is the Schofield, as he feels that it is easier to use whilst on horseback, and he also greatly enjoys the Colt's relatively easy loading and pumping mechanisms, as well as its precise firing capability from horseback.
Goal: To win 50 million dollars and nationwide fame.

He began to get noticed and as any self-respecting frontiersman would, he capitalized on the situation, selling maps (which may or may not have been made by him), books, and all sorts of other things with his stamp of approval on it allowing him to sell them for extortionist prices. However, as with all things, his fame began to fade into memory and the prices on which he based his livelihood around becoming more and more recognized for what they were, insane. So now faced with a MASSIVE scaling down of his business and money he has decided to join this race to get himself back in the public eye.
Personality: Douglas is a jovial fellow, but when faced with those he sees as his competition he can be as ruthless as a particularly wrathful demon

Why do you want to participate and/or get involved in the race?: For one money, but also to keep himself relevant

Bio: Douglas Smith was a simple frontiersman. All throughout his life, he would find himself following the next expansion of the United States going from State to State building homestead after homestead and throughout all of it being admired for his almost unnatural skill on a horse. He began to get noticed and as any self-respecting frontiersman would, he capitalized on the situation, selling maps (which may or may not have been made by him), books, and all sorts of other things with his stamp of approval on it allowing him to sell them for extortionist prices. However, as with all things, his fame began to fade into memory and the prices on which he based his livelihood around becoming more and more recognized for what they were, insane. So now faced with a MASSIVE scaling down of his business and money he has decided to join this race to get himself back in the public eye.
Personality: Douglas is a jovial fellow, but when faced with those he sees as his competition he can be as ruthless as a particularly wrathful demon
