Act 1 for NEXT is getting pretty close to wrapping up. Might've ended on a minor speedbump with one person tryna screw the team but in the end we all know Act II is going to be better than ever 8)

We're headed for the Spring Crucible event, and as for the location... Check the above image.

NAME: Giovanni Salazar
ALIAS: Fumus
ALLEGIANCE: Generation NEXT
OCCUPATION: Superhero

APPEARANCE:
Image

GENDER: Male
AGE: 21
BUILD: 5’ 11”, 173 lbs

POWERS:
The Touch – Giovanni’s touch is capable of corroding most materials or substances, eating then away while creating a thick, dark smoke as the fizzle. The corroding capabilities increase exponentially the longer he remains in contact with something, touching a person for a moment only resulting in superficial pain and a scar, while ten seconds of contact are able to make a hole through an inch-thick steel plate.

Typhokinesis – Giovanni is able to manipulate the smoke resulting from the The Touch, controlling it at will as long as it remains in its gaseous form and has not dissipated yet, something that will happen nearly two minutes after it is produced.

Incorporeal – Giovanni’s body is able to turn partially or as a whole into a dense mass of smoke, allowing him to float and move his gaseous form at an increased speed. However, he cannot maintain his fully incorporeal form for more that ten seconds. During his fully incorporeal form, he is unable to manipulate other forms of smoke, use The Touch, and is particularly susceptible to electricity and extreme cold.

EQUIPMENT: A Kriss Vector chambered in .45 ACP and a Beretta M9

STRENGTH: 10

DEXTERITY: 12 (15 while in his incorporeal state)

HEALTH: 11

INTELLIGENCE: 13

PERSONALITY: A pragmatist at heart, Giovanni's decision making is based around what he thinks will give him the better outcomes regardless of other aspects. He chooses his words carefully, and outwardly tends to abide by them, keeping a semblance of honour, however he is perfectly willing to throw that out the window if he feels it is truly detrimental in the long run. His mother’s upbringing has made him somewhat cocky and not someone who really cares about other’s opinions, as well as instilled a sense of pride in being a Metahuman. Throughout his years in La Guardia, he has shown himself as a bit of a partier, and someone with expensive tastes. Recently, Giovanni has started to show notable hostility to mind readers and probers.

BIOGRAPHY: Money and connections can buy pretty much anything one desires, even a chance at public redemption. Or so was the case for Giovanni’s mother, Contessa, in any case.

Just as the 90’s were starting, the Princeps rushed into the European scene, and the small team from Southern Italy, quickly began it’s meteoric rise. Although based in Naples, in the coming years they would quickly expand their influence to the rest of the peninsula and even abroad under the leadership of the telekinetic Centurion. Brandishing themselves as heroes to the common folk, they operated largely throughout Southern Europe and Northern Africa, treading in the often remote and downtrodden places that more prestigious groups left unattended.

As their financial assets grew exponentially so did their ties to businessmen, government officials, and media personalities, all while keeping up a greatly executed PR campaign that claimed they were different from other more corporate teams , even as they sipped champagne and rubbed hands with the socialites in Rome. And as the Princeps rose, so did Contessa. Actress, model, singer, and pyrokinetic, the young girl hailing from a small and humble town in Campania could seemingly do no wrong in the eyes of the media and public.

It came to everyone surprise then, when at the height of her career at the end of the nineties, that she announcement her departure from the team. Citing her desire to spend more time with her husband, the beloved Spanish hero Lusitano, and her newly disclosed pregnancy, one of most prominent faces of group was gone. Although a hit to the Princeps, much more shocking news came just one month later.

Killed in a car bomb, the death of their leader was the second blow to the Princeps, but it wouldn’t be the last. A mere week later, an investigation revealed just what had helped them rise so rapidly, very strong ties to the Camorra. The organized crime syndicate had been funneling great amount of money and granted them access to a vast network of contacts in the state, the business sector, and he media. In exchange, the Princeps would covertly eliminate rival gangs, local Metahumans both criminals and vigilantes, and anyone else who could pose a threat to them. In effect, they were laying the field for their allied mafia families to set up shop across the Mediterranean unopposed instead.

As the rest of the Princeps were detained, Contessa made use of her remaining connections as well as her and her husband’s wealth and status, greasing enough palms and pulling enough strings to claim ignorance on the whole affair and get away with it with just a light spank on the hand.

By the time Giovanni was born, his mother was on the fast track to win back the public as if nothing had happened. A couple event galas, charity parties, and the occasional donation to starving children in some third world country later, she was back in the socialite circles that had once welcomed most of the Princeps in their fold. A few years later, and the public turned once again in her favour most conveniently forgetting about the stain of the Princeps as she grieved on national television the death of Lusitano after a tragic plane crash.

It was in this conditions that Giovanni grew up, raised around the same circles and spectacle his widowed mother did. Groomed to follow her path, he was trained in combat, taught etiquette, how to mingle with rich folk, and most importantly, how to manipulate the public perception. All skills that would serve him good during the following years, as he joined Rome's La Guardia as soon as he turned 18. The sponsored team was known for having given quite a bit of leeway in their actions and had amassed a sizable following due to their less than orthodox antics and a more brutal approach to their missions. Although Giovanni saw some success and fame during his years with the group, he was at times outshined by his companions with flashier abilities, being relegated to infiltration and assassination tasks. Feeling his time with the team had run its course, and believing he could do better, he began looking for greener pastures, which brought him to the other side of the pond and Generation NEXT.

I've been holding on until I knew I could actually be somewhat active. Hope the late arrival is not an issue.

Galloism: ...social media is basically cancer. I’d like to reiterate that social media is bringing the downfall of society in a lot of ways.
