LET'S GOOOOOOOOO

Scott, meanwhile hung back, covering the retreat. The barrier seemed to be coming apart before their eyes. With the next impact it did, sending a cloud of dust and spalls of concrete spinning across the room they were in. Whatever it was was massive, humanoid shaped, but more than twice Scott's height, a massive hulking shadow in the darkness, "Run!" Scott ordered, breaking into a backwards trot as whatever the thing was let out an ear splitting roar that carried the anger and ferocity of a tyrannosaurus that had just home to discover the subjects of it's rage in bed with its wife.

“Holy crap.” Nikolai’s ice axes evaporated into cold mist at the sight of the massive shadow creature, sparking nothing but terror and fear with its terrifying scream that echoed into the night. This was no human; it was simply a creature of black shadow. It was not an animal of any description anywhere on the good Earth; what was it, anyway? Was it a creature of magic, like an elf, or a jormungar? Was it an alien, fallen from the stars above and borne from the universe’s darkness? Or… was it a demon, a spawn of Lucifer himself, feeding upon the flesh and bone of the innocent? May God forbid this, but perhaps it is a mutant just like them, a child whose mind had been twisted and drowned in madness to become like Isaac and Alis and Steve. Was there anyone with the power to manipulate darkness in there? No… as far as he knew.

Before he could do anything with his powers, Allison pushed him and Atalia to the front, using herself as a human shield in case the shadow did something like spit out fireballs. He was eternally grateful for her, for Allison’s protectiveness that matched that of his own… though there was a tinge of guilt and shame at being the one being protected, not the other way around. She’s a girl… no, she was a girl with metal bones and unnatural strength. Why feel guilt for that? And so, there was nothing to do, but run, and run more. They were, after all, headed towards the end of this lie. The end. The exit, the light at the end of the tunnel. Escape. Freedom…

You’re a useless popsicle maker…

No…

At the meantime, Nikita quickly hoisted Moira-Lee and started running along with everyone else. There was nothing he could do, but run, anyway. Time was running out for all of them. There was freedom from this lie that they had been living, the puppeteering of whoever owns this place. They only need to get to the end. And then, all will be made clear.

Ascot Rider and Eren Fritz

Ascot was upset that he was so useless.

Eren was angry that he threw away his chances to be useful.

Both nevertheless went to Harper and if he was straggling behind, picked him up to carry him to where the others were. For Ascot didn't want to fail again, and nor did Eren want anyone to die.

Nevertheless, when they glimpsed the colossal creature hidden by shadow, this monster which promised a quick death to all of them... It was then that their composure broke. They had attempted to repress their emotions earlier, tried to console themselves that they were going to finally prove to the others that they were right, that they were badass and competent and were going to shine when the call to action finally came.

But it wasn't the case - This wasn't their moment. Instead, they froze in shock and terror, unable to comprehend the prospect that they'd face something so dangerous. This big, ugly thing had broken the wall created by Sally's powers, and was now advancing towards them, proving once and for all that they were wrong, that they were naught but burdens to the group they had wanted to gather, the group which deserved more time, more info, more training. More of everything that their impatience had deprived them of ever holding.

Then just as quickly as it came over them, so did it pass. There was still time to flee, still time to catch up to the others, still time to truly atone. Ascot Rider and Eren Fritz ran, taking Harper with them, tears in their eyes as they knew that their dreams were burnt to ashes... And were best left that way.

Ascot vowed to talk with Sally and Rei after this, and maybe Cecil too. And thank Kristen, too.

Eren vowed to value Leo more, should both of them survive this. And also make friends with Atalia and the others to form actual bonds with people, bonds which held deep but loosely bound.

And both promised to refrain from flagellating each other - It was not their place anymore.
Sorry for my behavior, P2TM.

The sight of the person, if they could truly be considered one, seemed to paralyze Maurice. How could they beat that thing even if the drones weren't an issue. It was too big, too strong, and who knows what powers it may have had to supplement them? The possibilities of a fight were grim, but was out running it even possible? The shout of the adults snapped the boy out of his fear. "Get a fire going, Henderson, then run!" he called out as he took off. He hoped the crates weren't filled with explosives, but it would hopefully be a while before whatever may in them detonated. The fact that Maurice was carrying Gilligan put a little more metaphorical fire under the boy's heels as he ran towards hanger, and hopefully the safety it would offer.

But Annie would be safe, right? She had the shadows to slip into and the fires would only help that. If anyone would make it it would be her, Maurice knew that, but he couldn't escape the doubts gnawing at the very back of his mind. This would all be pointless if she didn't make it, at least for him, and he could only contain those worries for so long.

Alterio was about to shake off Newton wanting to just really work off this mounting anger about this whole situation. A morbid reminder came upon him that he was thinking about burning someone alive even if they were long gone. The guilt set in and the flame flickered when the wall came apart and demon emerged from the wall. He stepped back until the shouts of the adults and Maurice brought him to action. He fired as he ran taking care not to hit anyone behind them, '¡Mierda!'. He stumbled a couple times as he focused on keeping the flames on his palms and not his whole body.

"What do you think that thing is anyways!?" He shouted lagging a couple paces behind Maurice.

Marcel looked around in melancholic annoyance as he heard the pounding. He reasoned they would all be fine since everyone was pretty good at fighting he just wish someone would pick him up. He started to wonder lazily if he was heavy if there was any mark on his face, and that itch on his neck was really starting to- CRACK The wall gave way and someone's very real and very scary edgy spirit animal was coming to kill them. He started to try and at least focus on getting his legs back as he struggled to crawl on nubs. "Hell, dang, Crap, come on! COME ON!!"

"Down the corridor!" Scott yelled, backing up slowly as he fired on the colossal shadow that was bearing down on them. As it came into the light it was clear it was some kind of reptilian creature, close to fifteen foot tall and clad in the kind of armour that would not look out of place on a battleship. Scott's shot's did absolutely nothing.

Atalia didn't need to be asked twice, sprinting as far as Rashaad before slowing down in concern. She didn't say anything, but it was clear she was worried he would have difficulty manoeuvring the wheelchair. It was also clear she had no intention of leaving him here. She drew and loosed an ice arrow that struck the creature in the chest - it was next to impossible to miss, though she might as well have thrown a snowball for all the effect it had on it.

The creature bounded down from the walkway, landing behind a pile of crates, dropping to all fours, the top of it's armoured skull and menacing yellow eyes just visible from behind cover, like a crocodile lurking in an African watering hall. The escape party had a few moments to react, then a massive cannon swung up, held in a long prehensile tail, "Mother f-" Scott's expletive was cut short as he leapt for the cover of the corridor he had been pointing the kids at as a volley of energy weapon fire scorched a hole in the floor where he had been standing a moment before.

Newton, meanwhile, had collided with another small group of enemies up ahead, though they had been facing the other way and she had made short work of them, clearing the way into the hanger bay. There was not far to go.

Manbearcroc

Nikolai hadn't gotten a good look at whatever the hell was currently chasing them, as Allison had been pushing him on, moving forward towards the end, and perhaps, freedom. However, those hulking, ponderous footsteps and the ominous clanking of what could only be metallic armor were quite enough to tell him that the creature, the amalgamation of darkness and death, was no shadow at all, but a monster of flesh and blood, seeking to cut off their escape and bring them back into the town of lies, the isle of deception that has made them all live in a dreamworld as lambs for the eventual slaughter. But who's going to breed lambs with powers? Were they supposed to be weapons of unbridled destruction, just as Isaac said earlier? Or were they mistakes?

Now, there is only one thing to do. To move forward, to the future, to the truth that lies at the end. Outrun the monster that had just blasted a hole in the floor with... a cannon? On its tail? Ah, to hell with it. It's not like he could form ice spikes to try to delay its advance; he was pushed forward. To the end of this lie.

Lagging a little behind most of the group, Nikita, who was still burdened by the weight of a toddler, was nearly obliterated by the energy cannon, running just fast enough to get ahead of the explosion that bore a scorched hole unto the ground. He cast a glance towards the creature, and looked away. That was no demon, nor was it a deluded superhuman. It was something else; perhaps a reptilian creature of magic, or an alien devil, coming out to kill them all lest they escape this dying land.

Probably an alien, he thought as the end got nearer with every step and bound. What lies beyond these walls, anyway? Is there freedom within the sea of stars, or will there simply be greater terrors to face, monsters to overcome? Is humanity as they know it even alive?

Alyssa

Alyssa hadn't had much time to look at the new threat, as she followed the others in running away from it. Whatever it was, it definitely was not Isaac, and somehow seemed to be worse. The explosion from the entrance of the corridor caught her attention, however.

"HOLY FUGGIN SHIT!" she exclaimed as she noticed the giant lizard in what looked like power armor, that had just blasted a hole in the floor and almost took out Toby. Fortunately, he seemed ok, so she called out to him. "I don't think I have much time to explain, but if you can carry me so we can keep up with the rest of the group, I might be able to keep us from getting fried by that midget Godzilla-wannabe."

Fight or flee?
Rashaad, Capt. Pennel, and Kristin

"Of course they brought their big guys," Capt. Pennel thought to himself. He hated them, but knew his blaster was practically useless. That was polysaturated, galvanized adamantite in that armor. And even if one of them had managed to blast it to shreds, those suckers beneath it were tough as nails, too. With that in mind, he took a few wild shots at the eyes of the beast, knowing he was going to miss but hoping it might distract it long enough as he ran to Rashaad in the center of the room. His girlfriend was there too, shooting an arrow in vain and concerned with Rashaad. Keeping him safe was the priority. That was why he had come so far. And hearing Alyssa's question, he shouted, "Do it!"

Rashaad was thankful that Atalia had paused near him and smiled weakly at her. "So, I'd say their secrets out now. They are definitely not sending us back to 3rd period now." It was a lame joke, but it was all he had.

Seeing the difficulty with Rashaad, Kristen sprinted over - just normal track speed. "Problem?", she asked.

Capt. Pennel shouted as he took a few more failed shots at the eyes of the giant, "Get him out of here!"

Kristen asked, "That come with neutral? I'll push."

Rashaad nodded as he put it in gear. Then as Kristen began to push away and his father was being passed, Rashaad had an idea. "Wait. Get me a little closer."

Both Capt. Pennel and Kristen screamed, "CLOSER?!"

Rashaad said, "I can take out that cannon. Just, DODGE! Like, a lot!" So building up speed and dodging the blasts, Kristen pushed Rashaad's chair in neutral at a faster speed than the chair's manual indicated was possible. While she did, Rashaad's blackish-clear tentacles began to spring from his head, forward so as not to touch Kristen and thankful the others had already made their way out of range. Then, at her top speed, Kristen zagged back at the creature's flank, pushing Rashaad's chair. Its tail with the cannon was on the other side, but Kristen hoped she would prove a distraction from the others. Rashaad's tentacles tried to swipe the cannon, and missed. Rashaad kept trying, though. Skirting around the first hole in the floor, Kristen pushed and ran, and Rashaad's tentacles reached out. But this time they hit. Wrapping around the cannon, it started to melt through it. Small drops of goo dripped from the cannon and hardened while they did. Pushing him away a bit, and then closer, Rashaad tried another swipe. He got it. The cannon's shape melted as his acid tentacles burned through it. Firing that sucker would probably blow up in the beastie boy's face, which was what Rashaad was hoping.

"Now GO!" Kristen didn't need a second invitation. She zipped and zagged around the debris on the floor and pushed Rashaad as fast as she could, exhaust beginning to fill the room. Meanwhile, his acid tentacles were all dissolved and no longer present. By the time Kristen had done her part, she got the two of them back to the group and was trucking it like a bat out of hell (which in some ways was a pretty apt comparison, all things considered).

Capt. Pennel smiled to see his son safe. But he said, "Don't ever do that again, Rashaad!" Rashaad just shrugged, content that they weren't going to be blown up by that weapon at the very least.

Ascot Rider

He and Eren continued to run, pulling Harper along with them. As Ascot glimpsed the humanoid beast clad in metal armor, he knew that his entropic powers needed time to wear down said armor, time the others couldn't buy him because they haven't prepared for such an eventuality. For a brief moment, the boy thought, They'd have been prepared if they had fallen in line from the start, if they had followed your orders and pooled together knowledge and resources -

Ascot did the sane thing for once and cut off that line of thinking. That way, he can focus on surviving this mess - Atonement can come later. He looked around, hoping that Rei and Sally were still there as he wanted them to be alive, wanted them to be part of life after this farce of small-town life. He also knew he was being selfish, wanting his other crush and his debate partner to live because he had thrown away his existing friends. At least this selfishness is honest, his further thoughts went.

Then he realized that all which prevented him from making his confession to Rei was 1.) The uncertain likelihood he might survive this, and 2.) A potentially angry Jack who might get irrationally angry that Ascot had already settled for a replacement for him and may even have had a crush on Rei even when both were still 'together'. One second later, and Ascot was crying out, "Rei! Just in case we die, I want you to know I've always loved you!"

Okay, scratch that, Ascot did have a crush on Rei even when he and Jack were supposedly an item.

Eren Fritz

"Good thinking, Rashaad!" the young man said as he passed by the wheelchair-bound person, before looking back to see how many of them have successfully escaped or were in the process of doing so before pushing himself forward, looking for Leo so he could say to the guy once he reached him, "Oi, Leo! Just so you know, I always liked you 'that way'! So if you're willing to like me back, let's both live - For each other!"
Sorry for my behavior, P2TM.

"That's the wrong way!" Atalia cried in alarm, taking a couple of steps back to try to stop Kristen, though she didn't get very far. Atalia was fast, but not that fast and certainly not fast enough to dodge energy blasts. A shot struck her hip, sending her sprawling on the floor with a yelp of pain, the remaining arrows spilling out of her quiver across the floor.

The others were retreating down the corridor Scott had been waving at, sizzling pain shot down her leg though the drones had stopped shooting at her and were now targeting the others. Instantly her mind went back to the Harvest Ball. Her knuckles tightened on her bow as the memories of the terror and the pain came flooding back. With her free hand she fumbled for an arrow, her fingers closing on the familiar synthetic fletching of the last of her arrows. She drew it back to her body, then tried to push herself up to her feet, only to find her leg giving out immediately, "Not this time," she grunted under her breath...

"Carry you?" Tobias looked at Alyssa in puzzlement for about a second, before abruptly leaning down and lifting her over his shoulders in a fireman carry, "I've got you. Whatever you can do to keep that monster, or the other shooters at bay, do it now!"

Sam Newton

Meanwhile, down at the end of the corridor, the front runners would find themselves approaching a group people in white armoured spacesuits who emerged from behind cover as Newton cleared the drones away. There were a number of bodies in the docking bay and what looked like a spaceship... "Me-azu bo?" one of the figures yelled, which wasn't exactly helpful, "Ay... Sam! Alka uba!"

Thankfully though, Newton seemed to know what that meant, "He said to get over here, we need to get onto the ship before this place gets overrun."

The bay was a relatively large room and held a number of storage crates, many of which had been scorched by energy weapon fire. Curiously, a few also seemed to have large patches of ice formed on them. There were multiple entrances to the room, all of which had been occupied by the people in white. A few dead drones lay scattered on the floor while one of the figures in white was dragging a fallen comrade towards the ship. Clearly there had been fighting here recently, though the people in white, who appeared to be friendly, had come out on top. If the people who ran this facility managed to activate and arm all the people in the storage rooms though, even if the people in white were the best soldiers in history, they were going to be slaughtered; they hadn't come in anywhere near the numbers necessary to take the station. This was an extraction mission.

"Sa-ra uku?" the speaker from before asked Newton, getting a nod in response, "En ma!" he called to the others, motioning at the ship.

The vessel itself was shaped a bit like a tadpole (if a tadpole grew to 80 metres in length) with a bulging forward section, with an entrance ramp into the belly and a long tapering section behind it which appeared to house engines. The only windows were directly at the front, presumably where the bridge was. Behind it was a vast opening that appeared, on first glance, to open directly into the cold vacuum of space, though on closer inspection there was a faint shimmer to it, like you were glancing at the surface of an otherwise clear pond. Some kind of force field perhaps?

"Where's the Captain?" Newton called. It wasn't that easy to tell the white clad figures apart from one another.

Before anyone had a chance to answer though, there was a sudden explosion from near a barricaded entry corridor to the right of the group. It wasn't clear exactly what had happened, but one of the soldiers in white had been hit badly, possibly killed (there was a lot of blood), and another couple had been injured by whatever had struck the first though they were at least still moving, "Did you think you were getting away that easily?" Isaac's voice called from somewhere beyond the pooling smoke.

"Do not engage! Stay out of sight and don't let him bait you!" Newton called quickly, as a few of the troopers in white moved towards the scene. They seemed to understand her and held their ground, dropping down behind the nearest crates or other cover. She rounded on the group, "Okay kids, that guy sounds like he knows you. Do you know what they can do? Do we need to deal with them before we take off?"

A second passed before Nikolai seemingly appeared out of nowhere, keeling by her side while erecting a barricade of ice as cover for both of them. For the last few moments, they had all been running from the monstrous armored reptilian devil and its legion of cloned infested humans, but when Atalia got shot right at the leg by one of the damned drones, Nikolai skidded to a stop and coming to her aid.

I'm not leaving you, not this time.

Atalia wasn't particularly heavy, not like Allison, so she wasn't that hard for him to carry her. Taking the girl in a bridal carry, he ran on. Up ahead, there were the warriors in white, all shooting at the drones that had been chasing the group. They were friendlies, it seemed, judging from how Newton was interacting with them. They were here to rescue them. All of them. At least, the ones that could be saved from this nightmare. This... nightmare... it hadn't even seeped into him by this point. It was all very new; clones, drones, reptilian demons, space ships, all in one night? Hell, there was also that tentacle monster back in the waters around the 'island'...

"You ok?"

"Do not engage! Stay out of sight and don't let him bait you!" Newton called quickly, as a few of the troopers in white moved towards the scene. "Isaac drains life force through physical touch..." Nikita ran up to her, still holding a squirming toddler in his arms. "Alis is able to change the size of smaller objects... and Steve is just hard to hit." He looked so tired now. Barely had any sleep the night before, and now, they were way past their bedtime, running from a monster and its clone army. It was taking all he had not to fall over then and there.

He looked over towards the direction where Isaac's damnable voice had been coming from. "Alis causes guns to explode by enlarging a part or two, I don't know... it was how they got injured." He said that part while motioning towards Eren and Ascots, whose burns and wounds from the blaster explosion from earlier. "It's terrible."

Connor Vale

Things just like to get more interesting and more tense it seems. The clones were one thing, and the whole revelation about what where they were and now... Giant frickin lizards in what looked like armor wielding a plasma weapon with its tail. Not to mention the tentacle monster from earlier. More questions and no time for answers until they can get out of this infernal place.

Connor, like the rest, ran and questioned if his powers could even hurt that thing. Sure he can blast aura energy at people, and it does hurt people. But can it hurt something like that lizard thing. Something that Connor was tempted to test but seeing how it was shooting what he guesses was plasma at them and chasing them. He decided against it for now and ran to group up with the others.

Nice some more friendly faces, Connor thought as he came closer to the people in white. Then came the view of their ship, their way out of this place. "Almost there," Connor said under his breath, "Almost out of this forsaken place." The thought of finally getting out was soon ousted from his mind when a sudden explosion occurred, and then came Issac's voice. So he is back and no doubt that his friends are back too. While Nikita spoke to Newton, Connor's hands started to glow with blue energy in preparation for a fight, and his eyes turned a bright blue as well. Seeing through the fog, and looked intently to see exactly where Issac was behind the smoke. Along with anyone who was with him, including Alis and Steve, who were probably there.

Allison Clark

Allison looked behind her to see Atalia go down. Her eyes widened in horror, realizing her friend was in trouble. It brought back horrid visions of how Atalia suffered during the Harvest Ball. Not witnessing it, she could only imagine the pain she was in then, being ripped apart by those purple creatures. She immediately stopped running to bolt towards her friend. Allison made a promise to Atalia that she would never forget her again. She was not going to let her die to the giant croc thing.

Fortunately, some one was already to the rescue. Nikolai, quick to react, had rushed past Allison and grabbed Atalia, using an ice wall to give himself cover. Allison briefly smiled, oddly happy to see him willing to help another out of harm's way. Wanting to help them, Allison ran over and grabbed Nikolai's arm to help him to safety, as little there was of that in this moment. " It's ok, Atalia. We got you." Allison said to reassure Atalia.

When Allison saw the soldiers in white, her first instinct was to shield Nikolai and Atalia, thinking them to be the bad guys. She was relieved to see that they were giving them covering fire, keeping the drones and giant croc thing at bay. Allison ran to the ship, helping Nikolai and Atalia on board. Before she could get on ship herself, she stopped as soon as she heard the explosion and the voice, causing her to find cover. That voice. That stupid voice of Isaac, taunting them. Allison peaked from cover, her eyes filled with rage. Every muscle in her body was tense as she imagined turning Isaac into red paste. Allison glance over to Nikolai and Atalia, her eyes saying it all, All the anger she felt. She didn't care what Newton said, she wanted to make Isaac pay.

Leo had been one of the ones closer to the initial wave when the mutant crocodile busted through the wall, but he made a quick teleport back to the group and ran along with them. As much as he would have liked to try and fight, there was no way they were gonna get out of there alive if they tried to annihilate everything. On their way to what seemed to be a spaceship, Eren confessed his feelings for Leo, which was also something he was not expecting to hear at this current moment, but it did make him happy. It also would've turned him a bit red if he wasn't already from all the running and fighting

"I'm not 'willing' to like you back I already do! We better make it out of here alive now!"

Leo stayed near Eren after this, keeping with him and making sure they didn't accidentally separate themselves from the group. They continued to run, and eventually arrived to a spacehsip surrounded by soldiers dressed in white and speaking some kind of space language. Of course, not all of the surprises for this even had been dished out just yet, as The Three Stooges blasted through a nearby door to make their grandiose evil people entrance.

Leo looked Isaac up and down and shouted to him "Nice entrance, I bet you've been wanting to do that since eighth grade edgelord!" before hopping on board the new tadpole spaceship that they had been led to and saying to Eren. "Unless we can kill all of them here and now, we're all going to die unless we leave. I see a couple of them want to kill Isaac and, maybe you do as well but, will you come with me on this ship?"

Alterio
Alterio attempted to help Rashaad and Kristen in their crazy charge by blasting the Lizard with periodic waves of fire from one hand and using the other hand to blanket the drones as best he could. He managed very little only managing a fiery smoke screen that blinded him to blasts coming his way. He flew back as a shot fired at his feet blowing him onto his back with several burns. The columbian teen whispered profanities as he scrunched onto his feet squinting into the chaos. He saw Atalia being pulled back and many others sticking close to Newton for escape. He bit back an annoyed grunt as he forced himself up and started a jogging hobble behind them.

He smiled as he saw some guys in white not shooting at them for a change as the ship came into view. Then another crash erupted and Isaac’s voice poured through, “Hijueputa, I didn’t plan on it.” He ignited his body with a grin following in Allison’s footsteps and ignoring Newton’s warning despite his injuries.

Marcel
Marcel managed to restore all his limbs from the smoke and fire around him and was starting to lead ahead toward the ship. He didn’t take the time to fight a creature that could tank a gun that looked like it was straight from star wars nor did he even fight the drones figuring his biggest value was staying out of the way. When he made it to the bay he rested onto his knees and cleared a couple swathes of smoke with each breath. “Maybe i can do something?” He started to move around like an air purifier staying around the ship whilst taking in whatever pollution he could hoping to aid a little bit.
Some people put something smart, some people put something snarky, some might use it for the message, some might use it for their ads, but not me says instead i'll put this here because I could not think of something original to write.

Maurice

Europa Undivided wrote:"Isaac drains life force through physical touch..." Nikita ran up to her, still holding a squirming toddler in his arms.

"He fought before we took the elevator down to meet with you," Maurice spoke up after Nikita finished, "and they are going to be a problem." Newton, he hoped, would prefer the prefer the more direct answer. "We probably aren't going to be able to take off if there's a girl with a cat on her head, but the asshole speaking can probably hurl something with enough force to do damage to the ship."

There was a faint hope from Maurice that Issac would have just suffocated as he was trapped in concrete. The level of vindictiveness was new for him, but bad memories and self-preservation sent lit a seething rage underneath the calm facade he presented. He glared daggers in the direction of the sound, but still mustered up the control to focus inward. Maurice found himself in that familiar concrete bunker of a war-room. He was first greeted by the silence of the stair well, then the overlapping sounds from the various displays from his links.

As Maurice made his way to the wooden table, he wasn't distracted from the chaos on the displays. His focus was on something new to the experience, to the red telephone resting near his seat at the table. Taking a seat, he brought the handset up to his head. There was no need to dial a number, his own powers would make the connection needed.

"Hello, Issac," Maurice casually said. "Something tells me you weren't expecting to hear me, and let me tell you that your powers are very fitting from where I'm sitting. You were always a parasite, you know, by making others feel terrible to feel some sort of strength." The boy mockingly chuckled after a very slight moment, "It just so happens to be literal now."

Maurice hoped that there was enough of a remnant of what Issac so that thing would be enraged by the taunt. Breaking the trio apart would help the others fight them.

"Carry you?" Tobias looked at Alyssa in puzzlement for about a second, before abruptly leaning down and lifting her over his shoulders in a fireman carry, "I've got you. Whatever you can do to keep that monster, or the other shooters at bay, do it now!"

"Thanks, Tobias", Alyssa responded, as he hefted her onto his shoulder. Looking towards the group who were fighting the mini-Godzilla, she called out. "Hey, you guys get away from there, unless you want to be left behind or turned to toast!"

Kristen didn't need to be asked twice. Pushing Rashaad's chair in neutral, she did as Alyssa was suggesting, maneuvering their paraplegic friend out of harm's way.

As they rolled near her, Rashaad nodded at Alyssa and said, "Cool. Now we get to see you do your thing."

"I just hope its enough." Aly answered.

Rashaad couldn't help himself. "Well, seeing how we've got a giant lizard and a bunch of alien clone drones against us, I'm sure what you got is gonna be fine."

Alyssa sighed. "I'm not that strong, but I am stronger than I was before. Though I don't think Godzilla and his gigacannon will have a hard time punching through my forcefield. And it would definitely hurt yall."

People were running, which was an objectively smart idea, but Rosie had her own ideas. Clearly the situation needed some form of distraction to cover the retreat, and what could be more distracting than a devastating promo? She stopped for a moment, turned back to look at the reptile, and unleashed a brutal string of words that would bury anyone's push.

"Hey you, dumb lizard! Yea, that's right, you! You stupid jabroni! I bet you thought you had us trapped in here, didn't you? That we were just gonna sit around here with all these robot people and not notice? Well have you ever stopped to consider that it's you who is trapped in here with the clones? Yea, that's right! Who's to say I'm not secretly running an illegal alligator leather farm, and you're just the next line of suitcases waiting to be designed? I bet you didn't consider that, did you? Of course you didn't, you're too dumb for that. Oooh look at me I'm cold-blooded I can't move fast it's chilly outside guys wait up I'm ugly and slow fuck you! Get real! Why don't you go find a warm rock to lie on and think about all your bad life choices!"

Satisfied that she'd generated enough heat, she turned to run again. She replayed the moment about a dozen times in her head, in awe of how cool she must have looked doing it. Frankly, she was jealous of the other kids now because they had such a better view of her absolutely destroying the Ragon's will to live than she did. It was a sad price to pay to be the best, but one that had to be paid by someone.

"¡Duele, Duele!" Alterio grunted as he threw flames weakly behind him as he crawled into a hobbling retreat away from the lizard. "I hope whatever you-wheeze have planned works. My skin looks like burnt Chorizo and i don't think i can...mild annoy it any longer," he gasped out to Alyssa, before pushing himself into a desperate run.

"At the very least, it'll mildly annoy whatever that thing is." Alyssa said, raising her forcefield as soon as everyone had cleared the way. The shimmering blue translucent wall would probably be more effective against the drone clones than the Geico gecko from Hell, but any form of protection is better than no form of protection.

Captain Sesijura
Introduction to the Universe

One of the people in white looked in Newton’s direction as soon as she asked “Where’s the Captain.” Before that figure could respond any further, however, the explosion in the wall seemed to attract their more immediate attention. In one fluid motion, they shored up the icy defences along the crates that the others had taken as cover, and then snapped their finger. The floor between the defences and the hole in the wall gained an icy sheen. They retreated backwards, still facing the hole, and then looked in the direction of the scaly beast while slowly walking backwards. They flung two little sticks of what appeared to be dry ice in the creature’s direction, and the sticks seemed to move unnaturally directly into the monster’s nostrils. With that done, they sped up their retreat and ducked behind the crate next to Newton. With a tap on the crate, more ice fortified its position.

“Right here, Newton,” she said as she pulled off her helmet. Looking at Maurice, she made a sharp nod and said, “Captain Sesijura,” before returning her attention to Newton.

“Got a headcount?” she asked.

Final countdown
Capt. Pennel, Rashaad, Kristen

The people in white were an unexpected surprise. Good or evil? Kristen slowed up pushing Rashaad's chair in neutral, not knowing whether or not these new arrivals meant harm against them. Capt. Pennel, however, was grinning as he saw them and even more when he heard them. "Ah, the Gorialax. Great to have allies," he thought.

The youths relaxed when they saw that the people in white were on their side. And they had the ship, and the ship was close! They could actually do it! They could still escape!

The voice of Isaac, however, was a cause for fear. Rashaad felt a mix of emotions - fear, anger, anxiety and hopelessness all at once. Kristen wanted nothing to do with Isaac and tried to wheel Rashaad in the ship. But as she did, Rashaad cried out, "Alis! She can shrink things! She could shrink the ship and blow it up!" All that did was make Kristen even more afraid.

Capt. Pennel shot his blaster at where he hoped Isaac sounded like he was coming from and hoped the corrupted youth wouldn't absorb it like he had the other hits he had taken. The older Pennel thought he was pretty far away, and trying to duck behind crates like the Gorialax - but again, from a distance and not knowing what you're hitting, things never tend to go exactly as planned.

Making sure Rashaad was safe, the older Pennel tried to get keep the attention off of getting everyone on board as he kept shooting. He saw Kristen push Rashaad up the gangplank. Why people still used that ancient term when most starships didn't have anything structurally similar to what they had in the days of frigates and barques, he would never know. But he would keep firing, like the Gorialax, and hop on board when he could. He had come so far, he was not going to get blasted before he could get his son out of here.

"I don't know... I think that's everyone." Newton hadn't done a head count and, truth be told, wasn't all that sure. Everything had been rather a blur, "Hey Scott! Is this everyone?"

Scott had just arrived in the bay and was in the process of putting Alyssa down, "Yes," he replied with a nod "Unless I'm forgetting someone I don't think we lost a single one from the elevator to here."

"Everyone, fall back to the ship!" Newton called, before adding, "If guns are going to explode then we aren't going to use them. Anyone with a ranged power, do your best to keep the drones' heads down while the rest of us..." she sighed, as if realising how ridiculous what she had to say sounded, "... the rest of us hunt down a girl with a cat on her head. These things are extremely hard to permanently kill, but you don't need to. Just hurt them enough to knock them out of the fight and force the creature into a repair cycle."

Which was presumably what had happened to the giant reptile that went down on the deck with a floor-shuddering crash. It continued to twitch, it's eyes rolling in it's head. The puppeteer was still alive in there, even if the strings had been cut...

There wasn't much time, with the cessation of fire the drones were coming out of the woodwork along with another giant reptile, bearing down on the hangar from the direction the Prefeton survivors had just come from, weapons drawn in expectation of a fight... with the exception of the monstrous lizard. That one was armed with nothing more than a terrifying glare. Alterio was right though, they didn't seem to have done much more than mildly annoy it to this point. It paused for a moment, dropping to all fours with enough force to shake the floor, before growling at the survivors. It's voice was sibilant and barely intelligible, like some of the sounds it was attempting were not in it's normal vocal repertoire, "Ssurrrender, morrtalsss."

"Do NOT surrender!" Scott yelled, across the room as if half-expecting some of his former students to do exactly that.

Meanwhile, Isaac hadn't responded to Maurice or anyone else for that matter. The smoke from the explosion began to clear as the Gorialax troopers fell back to the ship, dragging their wounded comrade, enough to make out three figures down that corridor. They weren't advancing. They didn't need to. They just needed to stay in sight of the bay, and the ship in it, to make it next to impossible to fire a weapon or take off. Under those circumstances the drones were guaranteed to overrun the defenders given a few minutes.

"Alright, round two," Scott growled, cracking his knuckles as he glared at the figures, before breaking into a sprint towards them without checking to see if any of the others were following...

Atalia Bayer

Europa Undivided wrote:...

"You ok?"

Despite not being the heaviest student on the lists, carting a nearly fully grown woman down the corridor while running would exhaust anyone without enhanced strength of some kind, "No," she replied through gritted teeth, "It bloody hurts... but thank you."

She grabbed on around Nikolai's neck, as if sensing she was probably a bit on the heavy side, though he managed to get them to the bay. In time to hear Newton yelling something about people with ranged powers Staying back to keep the drones off them, not that she could do much anyway. She needed to be standing to use a bow, "Put me down," she said, before calling to one of the troopers in white, "Can you help me get to the ship?" she asked, "I've been shot."

The trooper nodded then stepped forward to take Atalia off Nikolai's hands, supporting her under the shoulder so she could take the weight off her injured leg and limp towards the ship. It didn't say anything, not that she would have understood anyway, though this close she could see through the reflective visor at the creature beneath. It looked almost human, with human like features and short, dark hair, though the skin was unnaturally red. She wasn't really sure what she was looking at. Was it an alien? Maybe it was the result of a different set of experiments to whatever had created this fake-town full of super-powered teens. Time would tell.

Ascot Rider and Eren Fritz

As he and Eren escorted Harper towards the real-life spaceship which had inserted itself into the hangar, Ascot saw the others fight for survival against drones and giant lizard aliens (?) and now their less fortunate ex-friends, superpowered teens which had fallen into the hands of the enemy. He wanted to contribute as much as he wanted to live, and seeing them use their powers in concert, following teamwork, and above all, seeing the adults contribute as much as the kids did... It made him ashamed of himself and how he hadn't been thinking. As Tobias Scott ran towards the Terrible Trio, the three who had been successfully 'turned' by their mysterious foe, Ascot gave his gun to Eren, saying, "Go on with Harper - If anything happens to me, keep him safe!"

And he rushed to follow Tobias, gathering his entropic energies around his hands, invoking his power of 'entropic touch' once more, before shouting, "Kristen, you can outspeed 'Captain Confederate', right?! Then keep him in place - We can take him on together!"

Unlike before, Steve's shield had already been damaged by Tobias' attack and was thus slightly more vulnerable to Ascot's entropic powers. That and unlike Alis, Steve/Captain Confed was vulnerable to Ascot's 'anti-aggression' power, the one which allowed him to manifest the worst fears of anyone trying to attack him directly for a brief period of time. If Kristen and him managed to act in concert while others diverted Alis and Isaac's attention, they can still win.

The Confederate, The Catgirl, and the Ass

"Put me down," she said, before calling to one of the troopers in white, "Can you help me get to the ship?" she asked, "I've been shot."

Nikolai did just that, gently setting Atalia down on the floor, looking right at the white armored trooper that rushed towards her, taking the girl off from his care. He watched as the soldier hoisted her up and carried her to the ship. He did not take his eyes off her barely moving form until she disappeared into the tear shaped vessel, as if his attention would magically make her okay again; maybe okay enough to shoot arrows.

But that wasn't going to be the case...

"Ssurrrender, morrtalsss."

"Do NOT surrender!" Scott yelled, across the room as if half-expecting some of his former students to do exactly that.

Perhaps the most shocking thing tonight was that the reptilian alien creature spoke in a language they could all understand, though it was obvious that its tongue and vocal chords weren't built for human-like speech. It called for surrender.

As if things weren't going to get any worse, those three from earlier had come back to stir up more trouble. Between these three brainwashed meatsacks, a billion drones, and an angry armored English speaking lizard, it would look like that the chances of escape were going to get a little slimmer by the second.

Why won't anyone just leave them alone for once?

"Alright, round two," Scott growled, cracking his knuckles as he glared at the figures, before breaking into a sprint towards them without checking to see if any of the others were following...

"I am sick and tired of your miserable existence." Even Nikolai himself was taken aback by those words that he just said; was he, the one that had been such a nice classmate to them, really saying that he wants them to die?...

Yes... He really was. Those three aren't Isaac, Alis, or Steve anymore. That knife wielding bastard that had fought tooth and nail against the purple furbies no longer existed; the pizza toting self proclaimed cowboy was no longer with them either. And... well, the girl with the talking cat was no more than a lifeless automaton, bound to the will of her feline overlord. They were no longer their friends or classmates. Just walking sacks of meat that happened to have a bit of intelligence sufficient for coherent speech. At least, Isaac could talk. Maybe the other two couldn't, as they haven't so far.

"Allison..." Nikolai stood beside his new girlfriend, a pair of icy javelins forming in his hands. "Let's kill the bitch."

Allison Clark

This was it. They had no where else to go. Surrounded on all sides by the drones, the giant lizard, and those three assholes. This was a fight or flight scenario in the worst possible way, with only one option. Allison, through her experience, knew that when your back is to the ropes, you dig in and fight. She had already made up her mind to fight, not only to get her revenge on Isaac, but to protect the others. Atalia was injured, the kids were hiding and scared to death, and then there was Nikolai. He was her first boyfriend and first kiss. She loved him and wanted to protect him from harm , not matter what happened to her.

"Allison..." Nikolai stood beside his new girlfriend, a pair of icy javelins forming in his hands. "Let's kill the bitch."

As soon as Allison was about to charge into the fray, she turned to Nikolai as he talked. He was ready to fight, spears in hand. She couldn't help, but smile, happy that he was going to be beside her in the most serious fight of their lives. Trying to keep her composure, she reached behind his head and brought him in close. They kissed, hopefully not for the last time. Pulling away, Nikolai would spot a single tear running down her face.

" Stay here." Allison whispered before taking off running towards a nearby wall. In a full sprint to avoid gun fire, Allison didn't stop until she slammed into the wall, making a dent into it. Using her strength, she ripped a large panel out of the metal wall. Taking the panel in hand, she rushed back over to Nikolai, using it as cover.

" Alright, here's the plan." She said as she took off her jacket and wrapped it around her right arm. " Cover the metal in as much ice as I can carry and attach it to my arm. Don't worry about the cold, I can take it. We'll use this as cover while we hurl as much spears as we can. Just keep on making spears. "

Harper Holiday

An eerie silence had come upon the storage bay and Harper felt it safe enough to ease the pressure off his ears. There was now a foul smell wafting about that made him feel nauseous, but he managed to stay on his feet and follow the rest. Clearly still shaken, he used a nearby crate to support himself. He tried not to look around at the corpses strewn about, still unable to deal with the fact that they were drones. Some of them were familiar faces, and the sight of them in this state kept him on the brink. Harper listened half-heartedly to the discussion between those around him, comprehending very little. He was much too focused on reining himself in. Sadly for him, there wouldn't be enough time to. After what felt like mere minutes, there was a great and repetitive thumping sound coming from across the room..

Harper's eyes scanned the somewhat misty storage bay until they landed upon the concrete impediment one of his schoolmates had formed.. Whatever was on the other side was relentless, and would likely be getting through soon.. As such, even before Newton drove the kids away he was already on the move. Being a bit unstable however, he was slow. Others ran past him, which for a moment caused him to fear being left behind. Fortunately someone decided to lift him up and carry him somewhat like a goat. That was when the blockade failed and the newcomer unleashed a bellow which made Harper cover his ears once more, but only for a moment. Suddenly he struggled out of Eren's grasp and dashed ahead with surprising speed, wide-eyed and visibly tense. Thanks to the sudden burst of speed, he didn't get to see the big lizard with the gun-toting tail.

Just ahead though appeared to be another threat! A group of people dressed in white. Harper couldn't understand them and immediately back away, his knees just about ready to give. He was just about to stammer something at the white-clad figure but Newton took over, giving him to opportunity to slink back into the safety of the herd. The next minute or so revealed that these people were friendly at least. Newton continued to speak to them and Harper watched and listened closely, preparing himself to move if need be. Newton then asked for a "Captain", but another loud explosion prevented any answers and made Harper flinch and scream.

Harper didn't need to be told again. He concealed himself immediately and remained crouched. "Be careful!" he managed to scream rather hoarsely to Newton. "That one's really strong!" Now, he would have been a bit more descriptive. But his state of fear and shock kept him from formulating enough words. Shortly after that, he was back to cowering, hoping that the new allies could get rid of Isaac and his lot for good.

As the other teens assembled for the fight and those injured were carted onto the strange-looking vessel, Harper himself was taken towards it. He was set down inside where he rested himself against a wall. He could see the white-clad soldiers and his schoolmates milling about, clearly preparing for one heck of a battle. Gulping, he wished he could do more and that he was stronger, but he could do no more than gawk even as Ascot ran into the fray.

Don't worry about the cold, I can take it. We'll use this as cover while we hurl as much spears as we can. Just keep on making spears. "

"Alright, luv." That kiss was still lingering in Nikolai's mind like dreams from beyond the grave, almost distracting him from the beams flying about as well as those three bastards that were still lurking in the shadows. That was way better than the last one, passionate and mutual-

Get your head back in the game, idiot. Nikolai mentally scolded himself, spraying cryogenic mist at the metal panel that Allison ripped out. He first covered the front of the piece of metal with ice, cold mist creeping all over the thing like blue ghosts. Once he was done, the panel would be quite the shield, coated with sheets of ice, complete with long, sharp spikes protruding outwards. Anything that gets too close risks getting itself stuck on those stalactites of wintry death, before getting bashed in by Allison's strengths and impaled by his icebound weaponry.

"It's ready."

A pair of javelins coalesced from the cold mist, their edges sharp and imposing. Their creator had an undying will to survive this nightmare.

Fight.

If you do not fight, you will die.

...

"Indeed."

While most of the other kids from the high school turned science laboratory hung back to fight off the invariable tidal wave of bio-drones and their lords and lady, Nikita had simply run into the inside of the ship. Lacking any abilities of an offensive nature, he'd be useless in the fight; the only thing left for him to do was take cover and wait, cower alongside the others who would also be unable to contribute to the coming final confrontation.

Tired, exhausted, and scarred, he dropped down to the stark white floor, leaning against the wall beside Harper. Ah...

Mother, father, sister. None of them are real. Friends, classmates, and teachers. All drones too.

Everything that had been happening tonight had happened in such a quick pace that he had yet to pause to contemplate it all. The pods of cloned humans, familiar faces from all over town. The drones that wore such advanced armor and wielded weapons of a future age. Newton and the white clad troops that had come to rescue them. The kraken in the lake. The armored lizard that called them mortals and demanded for their surrenders. Nothing made any goddamn sense.

Nikita looked over at Atalia's quiet form lying on the floor. And then at Harper. At least they were real. Had he been alone, he could have already gone... insane.

"I'm so tired." Nikita curled, wrapping his arms around his legs, seemingly oblivious of the battle outside.

And he wept, sobbing quietly. For the life that turned out to be a lie, for his parents that were never his, and the sister that did not exist. The realization of it all dropped upon his head like a boulder from the heavens to the abyss. What was he, now, anyway? A freak? A lab rat? Discarded food?

Almost there! But one fight first
Kristen Lane, Capt. and Rashaad Pennel

Kristen slowed down as they got closer to the ship. No use ramming poor Rashaad in his chair into the wall. His idea had worked - surprisingly. The gigantic croc lizard no longer had his massive tail-cannon. Still, Kristen was feeling really tired and really stressed out as she pushed Rashaad up the ramp. How long had they been up? They had all pulled all-nighters and had just lived through the most disturbing 24 hr. period in their lives. She, with Allison's help, had kicked the boat they had been on to higher speeds thoughout the night. And now? Now she just wanted to be done. She let Rashaad go when he was near the ship and told him, "Hey, now that we're out of there, you're in charge of moving yourself." Rashaad nodded, and Kristen was about to go towards the back and find a seat, when it was clear that they wouldn't get out quite that easy... not that it had been easy at all. With a sigh, she headed back out into the fray.

The sight of the one giant croc lizard down made Rashaad break out into a huge grin. But the appearance of the one behind it, with the drones coming like gangbusters, made his grin turn into a scowl. And then, the sight of his three least favorite alien-controlled former classmates made him shake his head. "The hell?", he asked no one in particular. "Can't we get one lucky break? Just one?!"

Capt. Pennel was especially annoyed at the idea of not being able to blast any of the drones, since the one teen-drone with the cat could make their blasters explode. He kicked himself mentally for not tossing one of his grenades up the elevator shaft earlier and ruining that way down. But that wouldn't help anything now, and now was what he had to worry about. Behind the crate he was near, he reached for the rucksack he had been carrying to see if there was anything in there that might help.

And Ascot rushed to follow Tobias, gathering his entropic energies around his hands, invoking his power of 'entropic touch' once more, before shouting, "Kristen, you can outspeed 'Captain Confederate', right?!

Kristen called out to Ascot, "On it!" She rushed off in the direction of Steve with his damaged shield. As she ran, thoughts of Ascot's growth this past year filled her head. She had severely misjudged him at the start. She had been cruel in her thoughts at least. But when it all came down to it, Ascot was the one who knew what was best to be done in their situation. Ascot had wanted them to get together, unite as one, develop their abilities and find out more information - all while she herself had been more worried about fitting in, being liked, track season, and her own family drama with her step-dad.

As she ran, exhaust fumes began to emit out of her arms and legs. Though her eyes were weary, adrenaline kicked in and that was enough to sustain her. She ran as fast as she could. Since Ascot wanted her to get Steve to stay in a general area, she called out his name to get his attention. "Steve! You and I didn't get to tangle last time. How's about now?" Faking like she was going right, she then darted to the left, and then back again. Keep him off balance. While she was at it, she thought, "What the hell. No use keeping these to myself." And with that, she raised both arms, one pointed at Steve, and one pointed at the cat on Alis' head. And then, lines appeared in her arms midway up the forearm. The lines grew larger, quickly, and then all of a sudden, the two arms shot out from where they had disengaged from her body. Like rockets, the arms blasted their way forward, exhaust fuming out behind them. It was a curious sight for Kristen herself, to see her arms separate that way from the rest of her.

Before motoring himself down out of the ship on his powered chair, Rashaad saw Nikita looking dejected on board. "Hey," he called out. "You can do things with computers, right? Why not find what you can from the ship's computer and get us some information about these beasties that we can use?" But knowing that his skills were probably needed in the battle, Rashaad motored himself down the ramp again and out of the ship. He had a bone to pick with Isaac from the last time. This time, he'd stay as far away as possible to not let him get the edge. That seemed to be what helped him drain Rashaad and Allison the last time. The closer you got, the easier he could mess with you. Last time, Rashaad had been able to separate his shoulders from his body. This time? Rashaad's tentacles were going to go for Isaac's head.
