Below can be found some information for applicants regarding what had already been established for the RP prior to the establishment of this thread:
For the purposes of effective RP, the RP diverges from reality in 1990, the year of Margaret Thatcher's resignation as Prime Minister, consequently, the names of Prime Minister and Leaders of the Opposition have been changed, however, the Prime Ministers themselves and the events during their period of leadership remain unchanged:
Jack Monroe (Conservative, 1990-1997)
Tom Blake (Labour, 1997-2007)
Gilbert Black (Labour, 2007-2010)
Daniel Campion (Conservative, 2010-2016)
Neville Kirkbride (Labour, 1983-1992)
Joshua Sharpe (Labour 1992-1994)
Marcia Bainbridge (Labour, 1994)
Wilfred Hayes (Conservative, 1997-2001)
Ivor Dowding-Short (Conservative, 2001-2003)
Mathew Howell (Conservative, 2003-2005)
Henrietta Hanson (Labour, 2010)
Ted Merriment (Labour, 2010-2015)
Alexandra Bennett (Labour, 2015-present)

Oh how times have changed.
A disastrous election result in 2017 has led to an insurgency by the Opposition, and the fabric of the constitution itself is beginning to splinter under the strain. Operating a Conservative minority government propped up by the DUP, the Prime Minister has found herself unable to move forward with her Withdrawal Agreement, despite the positive steps she has attempted to make to pass it. The DUP have been alienated, and ultra-Remainers and ultra-Brexiteers in her own Party act as a constant foil to her attempts to get the job done.
Narrowly surviving a confidence vote in December, the Prime Minister has resolved to resign come the summer, to make way for a new Conservative leader, and thus a new Prime Minister. Her legacy, no matter how positive she has tried to be, will forever be marked by her impotence in office.
The race to become the next Prime Minister, however, has already begun. Not merely in terms of the Conservative Party leadership, but also the sure expectation that - following the leadership election - the new Tory leader will be expected to seek a new mandate, a fresh general election. Parliament will be dissolved, and the country will decide… Who will be Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland?
