Brief Explanation of Government: The government of Greater Norway is grounded in the absolute authority of the King and his council. The King himself has absolute authority within the Government and the country in general, followed closely by the Chancellor, and then finally by the Council members who each administrate sectors of the government and country.
Ideology: Reactionary Modernist, Neo Paganist, Authoritarian

Relations: Outside of hostilities with the remains of the Finnish government and any who would threaten their access to the sea, the Kingdom is largely isolationist and only trades for the necessities to keep its military functioning.
Population Info
Brief Description of your People: The people of the Kingdom are in conflict at the time of the RP's start. Though the King and his government have been in power for some time and their ideology has taken root in portions of the population, many are not quite willing to accept their radical nature as of yet. The majority of the population remains Protestant Christian and while xenophobia has become more common due to the plague, it isn't engrained in the more resistant portions of the population as of yet. The minority follow the King's neopagan revival movement, believing in the cult worship of the old gods and the revival of the old norse culture. This portion of the populace is also anti-modern in it's beliefs. While the modernity laws are enforced on the entire population, the believers will often take it to a far greater extent than what is required of them.
Brief Description of your Culture: Since the Antirevolution, both a strict caste system and cultural enforcement laws have been placed over the Kingdom to both restore it's old culture and kill it's newer ones. The caste system, while somewhat mobile, is strictly enforced and punishment for breaking from it is severe. At the lowest level are thralls or serfs. Above them are Lið, the general populace of the Kingdom who work in industry and artisan shops. Above them are the warriors who fight as soldiers both in the Military or as members of the Hird. Above the warriors are the elites, those who distinguish themselves in service and serve as officers. Above them are nobles, who administrate over the rest, who are led by the final caste, the Virða, who are comprised of the Royal Family and high priests. Outside of the Thralls and the Virða, the population are generally allowed to move between the different castes if they prove themselves worthy.
The Runic Alphabet is enforced for those of the population who are enabled to write, and the official language of the Kingdom is Norse, a reconstruction of the old norse tongue, though this is seldom used in day to day goings and is instead more of a barrier between the upper castes and the thralls and Lið. Though the new religion is not enforced, it has been gaining popularity amongst the populace. The two more interesting notes on the culture of the Kingdom are that while highly conservative in most ways, the Kingdom is actually quite liberal in terms of both sexual and gender rights, as part of the Kings revival of the old ways. While Women are in some ways expected to assume matronly roles, a mother bear is still a mother, and a woman who proves her strength like any man is respected like any man. The other note is that technology has become a fiercly controlled privilege among the populace. Modern improvements are on a strictly need to use basis, and so once common commodities such as cars or telephones have become a rarity. The exception to this is the Radio, one of the few technolgies actively improved on by the government and mandated in every home.
Military Info
Army: The Army is composed of 70,000 troops with decent, if a little outdated for the times equipment. They make up for this gap in training, as both combat and leadership prowess are considered when promotions are on the line. The Army acts mostly as an extra police force at the moment, currently focused on bringing order back to the rural parts of the country.
The Hird is a paramilitary force led by the Formaðr, one of the more important members of the Kings Council. The Hird stands at around 7,500 men strong and makes up the most hardcore young loyalists and those eager for combat. While some remain in the home front as a secret police force known as the Gætir, the majority of the Hird act as Nyr Vikingr, a combination of commissar and bandit. These troops, along with a special naval task force, primarily act by raiding and sacking isolated villages for supplies and thralls. These troops primarily act in the Baltic area, striking Finland and the Baltic states, though some more bold groups have been known to cross the North Sea to strike Iceland, Faroe, the Shetlands, and rarely even Scotland. The Hird are more often than not even more poorly equipped than the army, but they are likely some of the most experienced troops in the world.
The Valkyries are a special taskforce of the Hird, all female, and trained in the Aeronautical arts in the few remaining planes in the country. They are 100 strong, and serve as a special recon branch of the Gætir.
Navy: The Navy is manned by 15,000 men. While a handful of coal run ships still remain, these serve excusively as convoy escorts to protect the trade ships that carry the coal that fuels them and the nations few trains. The rest of the navy is mostly sail based ships, many of them produced after the plague and designed for quick arrival and exit from combat sites. The Navy is well maintained and though not as strong as say, Englands, it is considered by most to be the pride of the nation.
Other Info
Brief Description of your Economy: The economy of the Kingdom remains primarily agrarian in nature, with Livestock and Lumber being the countries largest productions. Fishing and Whaling also makes up a large section of the economy. While scarce, industry has begun to be restored to the Kingdom, albeit very slowly due to the general scarcity of fuel. Mining has seen a large boom as one of the Kingdom's primary income sources to fuel itself is though it's much needed Iron exports. This economy is of course bolstered by raid profits made by the Hird.
Goals: Short term: To eventually control all of Scandinavia from Iceland to Estonia. To completely convert the entire populace to the new culture of the Kingdom.
Long Term: To completely unite the percieved concept of "Greater Nordica", an empire stretching from Newfoundland to Kiev, that includes areas such as Scotland and the former Danelaw. To spread the Antirevolution and end the percieved cancer of enlightenment ideals.
History: In 1918 the state of Scandinavia was better than most of Western Europe. They had stayed neutral during the war, were experiencing a new wave of indepence across the board, and though the economy could be better and famine was spreading in Sweden, things were looking up for Europe's northern corner. Then the plague came. Though initial isolation enforcement and quarantine seemed to work at first, the illness seeped over Denmark's land border with Germany and from there it burned it's way into the North. Though Denmark saw near total ruination from the disease, Norway and Sweden avoided the worst of it's effects by evacuating larger cities and waiting the plague out in the countryside. This massive diaspora however would cause mass unrest among the population, and soon enough both countries were overwhelmed by all kinds of political discord.
In this time of discord, a young Swedish political writer by the name of Elof Eriksson saw opportunity for his percieved rebirth of the Nordic Peoples. Though not as extreme as he would eventually become, Eriksson began to preach among the upset agrarian masses of Sweden, attempting to incite rebellion among them to over turn their now displaced urban and modern overlords and their "jewish" conspiracy. His ideas did not take hold however, and he was quickly arrested and exiled soon after. Eriksson was nothing if not determined however, and the would be demagogue quickly restarted his campaign in Norway, where he found far greater success. During this time, his views developed more, now inspired by his own exile from his homeland and his branding as a traitor. He became convinced of a "Conspiracy of Modernity" designed to weaken Mankind's innate resolve. In his opinion, everything from the Enlightenment to Christianity itself needed to be stripped away by a great Antirevolution, so that mankind may begin again from the bottom up.
While Sweden had rejected Eriksson as a madman and forced him out, the founder of, in his words, "The Revived Ways", found a somewhat eager audience in Norwegian farmers and veterans. Though his idea lacked mass market appeal, the idea of a world based around "Survival of the Fittest" called out to those who already lived the life, and they soon gathered around Elof like a flock of sheep. Not one to look a gift in the face, Eriksson soon formed the Hird, his own private paramilitary and police force, who began to patrol the more isolated towns that the government could not reach. The Hird also started the first repopulation efforts of Oslo, bringing new life to the abandoned capital. It was in this time that Elof had another realization. Though people were willing and even eager to listen to him as a new age spiritual leader, he had a hard time trying to establish himself as a political figure. So, from then on, instead of trying to do that, Elof instead began to preach a new form of Divine Right, hoping instead to find a sympathetic Royal to back his cause.
After a bit of searching, he found exactly what he was looking for. Prince Harald was the King's younger brother, and though he was not initially open toward Elof, the preacher found an eager listener in his wife, Princess Helena. Through her, Harald soon became more interested in the ideas presented by the Swede, and though he disagreed with Elof on some points in the early days, he later became as avid a listener as his wife. Elof now had all the pieces he needed to ensure his success. In late 1923, the Hird marched through the streets of Drammen, where the Parliament and King had taken up residence. After occupying the city with little resistance, as most of the army was attempting to keep other parts of the country secure, Elof negotiated a power transfer from Haakon and his Parliament to Elof and Harald. Shortly afterward, Harald was crowned King of Norway.
The next two years were spent by the new government mostly consolidating control and rebuilding the country. Oslo was again established as the capital and the Military was brought back under control. This time period also saw a slow but steady trickle of less radical cultural and caste laws passed. Any dissenters were quietly expelled from the country out into the North Sea, their fate left unknown. After a few months, some semblance of order had returned to the nation, though nothing like the pre-flu days. By 1925 things had calmed enough that the Government began to enforce the first anti-technology laws on the general populace, primarily through the confiscation of cars and guns for non-soldiers. The Hird also began preliminary raids into Sweden at this point, testing the resistance. When it was found that the Swede's military had mostly crumbled at this point, The King quickly consolidated the Army and made a quick but effective push into hie neighboring country, forcing a surrender and annexation. This led to the proclimation of Greater Norway in 1926, uniting the Swedish and Norweigian Crowns and proclaiming the King's authority over all of Scandinavia.
The following years saw a steady increase in Radicalism by the government, as the caste system became more strict and the technological laws with it. The late 20s saw the re-colonization of Denmark, first through the Taming of Juttland and then the resettlement of the Islands, which had been mostly abandoned during the plague. As the King expanded his authority and the government slowly proved itself in the eyes of the general populace, so too did the laws become more and more strict. By 1933, the system that Eriksson had so carefully designed was mostly instated, and the Kingdom was ready to enter the next act of history.
