Character DescriptionName: Clayton Dallas
Gender: M
Age: 18
Appearance: 5'11 with blue eyes, masculine build with Caucasian skin and blonde hair
Strengths and WeaknessesSkills: Has been taught how to lasso and rodeo like a proper cowboy. Experienced with calisthenics to keep his body in great shape. A smooth-talker who can defuse or charm his way out of difficult situations. As a part-time bartender, he knows his hard liquors and alcoholic beverages like the back of his hand. A member of the school musical band and a seductive guitar player with a great country-singing voice. A cowboy trivia expert, a classic western and spaghetti western film buff and an avid reader of history. Excellent with horses and horse riding.
Weaknesses: When he isn't using six-shooters or any non-automatic firearms, is a terrible shot unable to even hit a target properly from 3-4 meters. Knows how to ride horses but can't seem to find his balance with bicycles. Despite having poor alcoholic tolerance, Clayton enjoys drinking and smoking alittle too much, a bad habit stamped from trying to maintain his cowboy macho demeanor.. Fond of gambling but sucks at it when he isn't trying to cheat. Mathematically challenged and is dumb when it comes to numbers. Sucks at playing video games. Has a hero-complex with a certain weakness for damsels in distresses. Loses his macho-man image when around his mother and is easily cowered by her. Most of Clayton's actions are dictated by his emotions and he often trusts his gut instinct more than logic and reason. Needless to say, Clayton won't hesitate to take matters into his own hands to do what he thinks is best.
Phase One Power:Phase Two Powers:
- Deadeye (Lvl.1) - Applies to six-shooters and non-automatic (lever, bolt, pump-action) firearms only. Can utilize a single revolver with the speed, accuracy and reflexes of an olympic shooter that rarely misses.
Phase Three Powers:
- Danger Sense (Lvl.1) - Able to sense impending danger within a 20 yard radius of his person.
- Deadeye (Lvl.2) - Applies to six-shooters and non-automatic (lever, bolt, pump-action) firearms only. Clayton can dual-wield two revolvers with peak-human accuracy, speed and reflexes. He can hit his targets with pinpoint accuracy and never misses.
- Danger Sense (Lvl.2) - Able to sense and react instantly to impending danger within a 40 yard radius of his person.
- Deadeye (Lvl.3) - Applies to six-shooters and non-automatic (lever, bolt, pump-action) firearms only. Clayton can dual-wield two revolvers and a single rifle or shotgun of his choosing with superhuman accuracy, speed and reflexes. He can now instinctively curve and ricochet bullets with numerical precision.
- Trick Bullets (lvl.1) - Has become experienced and talented enough to craft specialized bullets with a variety of functions (explosives, incendiary, knock-out and poison gas)
Background:
Personality: Easy-going, brave, charming and headstrong. Clayton is an all-around extrovert who has no problems fitting in with his confident smile and his deep southern accented voice. He enjoys flirting with pretty girls and showboating his skills along with his rugged body whenever he has the chance to. However, Clayton isn't an asshole or a jerk and is generally a nice guy who dislikes bullies of all kinds. Patient, loyal to his friends and protective to a fault, there is little you can say or do to piss him off. He wouldn't hesitate to show cold aggression to those who display ill-intent towards him and more especially towards his companions. Due in-part to his upbringing and past experience, Clayton firmly believes that those with abilities like himself are meant to use their powers for the good of those who can't defend themselves no matter what. To him, almost any means could be justified as long as justice was served one way or another.
Backstory:
Born the only child of a god-fearing southern family, Clayton's mother is a devout born-again Christian who works as a psychologist and is a spiritual counsellor for the local church. His father, on the other hand, was the righteous sheriff of the small town of Jonesville, Texas. Like any strict Christian parent, his mother raised him with a strong moral sense of right and wrong while his upright father taught him what is fair and just in the eyes of the law. Needless to say, Clayton enjoyed spending time with his more open-minded dad than his narrow-minded mom. From his father, Clayton learned about the Dallas family's deep historical roots in the old west and how he is a descendant of a long line of notable frontiersmen, desperadoes and Texas Rangers with a hint of Navajo Indian blood mixed in altogether. Naturally, Clayton became fascinated with the wild west and began idolizing western icons like Jesse James, Billy the Kid, John Wayne and Clint Eastwood.
Under his father's influence and much to his mother's disappointment, Clayton began embracing his heritage as a born to be cowboy in a modern era. His father taught him to hunt, ride and rodeo when he was old enough and he excelled in these areas like as if he was made for it. When it came to shooting at the shooting range, Clayton found himself disappointingly inept with all modern pistols and other automatic and semi-automatic firearms. His own father couldn't comprehend why his only son could be such a good-shot with hunting rifles and pump shotguns but nothing else. Clayton himself later realized that he was even more gifted than usual when it came to using revolvers. On his 17th birthday, the young cowboy won his first Colt Peacemaker during a special High Noon event that challenged participants to shoot 3 out of 6 spinning clay targets in succession using only an old rusty Remington revolver. Despite the game being rigged to lose and himself having no prior experience with any six-shooters so far, Clayton fluidly destroyed 5 clay targets in one round by firing from the hip no less. Unable to believe what they just witnessed, the event managers requested a second round which ended with the same shocking results. For Clayton, the moment he held the handle of a revolver, it somehow felt like it became an extension of his own body. Like as if he had been using such a weapon for generations over generations to the point he could just wield it instinctively without proper aiming.
Unfortunately, he would tragically confirm his abilities for a second time on the night of the same day. A group of four gang members, bearing a vengeful grudge against the Sheriff of Jonesville, shot Clayton's father on the front porch of his house and invaded the Dallas family home to rob it and worse. To save himself and especially his mother from fates worse than death, Clayton did the only thing he could think of and used his newly-earned birthday present to dispatch the intruders. Police later arrived to find one assailant dead from a headshot and the other three on the floor, grasping bleeding shattered wrists with each of their weapons disabled by single bullet shots fired with utter pinpoint precision. While they wondered at how a young inexperienced shooter could perform such a clean execution, the police wrote Clayton's deed off as an act of self-defense and closed the case. The night of his 16th birthday would continue to haunt Clayton later on. Not just because of the death of his father, but also because of the later realization that he felt empowered by what he had done. By the life he so easily took and the lives he could have so easily taken if he had made but another different choice. In fact, he rather liked that feeling of empowerment and that was what scared the boy most. However, Clayton justified his actions as the right thing to do in order to protect innocent life and swore to himself that he won't hesitate to do it again when necessary.
After the incident, it didn't take long for Mrs. Dallas to move them out of Jonesville and find a new home far-away on the seemingly quiet town of Prefeton. For the first year of his residence, Clayton missed the old life he left behind in Texas. But his good looks, southern charm and friendly cowboy bravado soon made him a hit with the kids in Prefeton High. It didn't take long for Clayton to establish a reputation as one of the more popular kids at school.
