Character Description
    Name:Marshall Rowes
    Gender:Male
    Age:17
    Appearance:
Tall, 6’2, broad shouldered but skinny. Actually, strikingly skinny, people make comments. Short brown hair and brown eyes, a face that is regular, not remarkable but certainly not ugly. Strong jaw and a scraggly goatee of brown-black hair. Pale skin and lots of leg and arm hair, with some body hair, all black. Thicc ass eyebrows, but not a unibrow in any sense. Loud voice yet not as deep as one would expect, semi regular voice cracks. He wears t-shirts and jeans, never ripped.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Skills: Adults seem to like him, as he is "mature for his age”, but mostly only around people he cares about making an impression on. Is generally known as funny. Can write decently well and has a pretty solid history knowledge.
Weaknesses: Depressive and Hyperactive, Anxiety along with both.
Phase One Power: Can’t you hear it?? Why is it there?? Help??! Please… Marshall can hear...music?? Classical music in his head at all times, growing louder as his emotions increase. If he focuses on one person enough, he can make them hear the music too, even rather loudly. He has no control over whether he himself hears the music and is subjected to it at random volumes at random times.
Phase Two Powers: Marshall has a hang on projecting the music onto one other person, potentially even bringing them to the floor with the splittingly loud sound of it. He can also make small crowds of people hear it if he focuses very hard, though the volume won't be nearly as loud. He can control the volume of the music for himself, but not when it plays.
Phase Three Powers: Marshall can deafen crowds of people with the music, and can make one person's head nearly split (NOT literally) with music. He can control when he wants to hear the music, how loud it will be, and even specific songs if he desires.

    Background:
Personality: Gregarious and friendly, somewhat nihilistic when he’s particularly upset. Wears his heart on his sleeve and is very emotionally needy, creating bonds with people very easily and desiring emotional connections.
Backstory:Marshall wanted to be…well, needed to be special. What’s the point of it all, everything, if you don’t change anything? If you aren’t remembered? His father tried to tell him it didn’t matter what other people thought of you as long as you were enjoying your life. Yet Marshall couldn’t enjoy it if people didn’t enjoy him. He needed to be different, in a good way, so he could be remembered. Marshall's father moved them to Prefeton 12 months ago to get inspiration for his upcoming symphony, he was a composer after all and if he did not compose, he wouldn’t be a composer, would he? Marshall disliked this, seeing nothing interesting on the island, and seeing no opportunity for himself there either. Besides, how was he to fit in with only senior year to go? Marshall thought the move was pointless, his father should've just let him finish off the rest of high school back home in New Mexico. Up until now, sitting in his empty room he had no idea how he would go about being different. All of this will change however, as sitting in his bedroom, alone one evening he hears something familiar, classical music. “Isn’t dad asleep?”

    Name: Conner Vale
    Gender: Male
    Age: 16
    Appearance: Conner

Strengths and Weaknesses
Skills: History Expert, Good Runner, Good card thrower and amateur writer.
Weaknesses: Math, Can be stubborn and indecisive at times.
Phase One Power: Soul Sight - Conner is able to pear into the spirit realm and able to see people's souls. Along with being able to see through walls. His sight is very limited with only seeing the colors of a soul or cannot tell who is a person or animal is based on their soul. Only able to see souls and nothing else. Also, his eyes started to glow a bright blue when using it so he tries to use it when no one is around.

Phase Two Powers: Soul Vision Enhanced - Now Conner is able to identify people based on their souls and able to see other spirits or ghosts if there are any around. Along with being able to detect is it is a human soul or not and start to track down souls that he has seen like a bloodhound. The trail has to be three hours old and he can lose sight of it with too many other souls trails are close to each other. (Level 2)
Soul Attack - Conner is able to manipulate his soul to sent out soul-based attacks. Only able to be used in bursts and can tire Conner out is he uses it too much. (Level 1)

Phase Three Powers: Soul Sight Master - Conner is now able to see any anomalies in a person's souls as such possession, mind control, and other effects. Along with detecting any supernatural souls and has a greater range on soul tracking. Being able to track a soul trail that is a day old and it's easier for him to keep track of it. (Level 3)
Soul Attack Enhance - (Level 2) - Conner is able to summon stronger soul-based attacks and can fire in a continuous beam. Though doing so will cause to tire him out more.
Astral Projection - Conner is able to project his soul and temporary leave his body. Appearing like a ghost and able to go through solid objects. While in Astral form he is able to spend ten minutes in it before he is forcefully pulled back into his body. (Level 1)

Background:
Personality: Shy, calm, and tends to go with the flow. Conner is an introvert that likes to keep secrets about himself no matter how trivial. He tends to open up more to friends and can hold a conversation if he needs to and get excited when a topic he knows if brought up.
Backstory: The first thing you should know about Conner is that he is not from Prefeton. Having being born in Fort Wayne, Indiana and being the eldest of three. Conner had a normal life in Indiana and planned to be a writer like his father who was a notable writer. He would sometimes visit Prefeton since his father's parents live there and when Conner's grandfather died. His father wanted to Prefeton to be closer to his mother. They moved two years ago and while Connor understands why his father wanted to move. He still missed his friends and had a hard time making more in Prefeton. Conner would often spend time alone or with his siblings while on the island and liked to jog around the neighborhood. During one night while he was trying to sleep, he felt pressure building around his eyes. Getting up out of bed and started to see flashes of light, before Conner could realize what is happening. His vision changed and he started to see differently. Conner's room appeared transparent and he could see big blobs of color through the walls. He realized that the blobs of color were his family but, would later after testing his sight that he was looking at their souls. Not sure of what to make with this new ability or figure out how he got it, Conner so far is trying to act as if everything is normal and use his power rarely.

Generally looks good, but I am going to ask you to change one minor aspect, recommend another change and ask you to define something further. I don't have any issues with anything pre Phase II, so feel free to jump into the RP while we're discussing this!

Chance souls to 'auras' to avoid stepping into metaphysics/theology. I would like this RP to be one where someone can write a character of any religious/philosophical background without someone's powers, in some manners making some belief systems invalid. I don't mind if your character regards these auras as manifestations of the soul.

In the latter phases you've spoken about spirits, ghosts, supernatural entities etc: they won't be making an appearance in the RP. This one will be a bit more sci-fi aligned (as it is part of the Andromedaverse). If it was me I'd chop the bit out about supernatural auras and change the bit in phase two to being able to differentiate between 'sapient and non-sapient auras'.

Finally, I'd like you to be a bit more specific about what a 'soul based attack' is meant to be. Depending upon how i read that, that could be anything from 'insta-death!' to 'I feel a bit sick for some reason'.

Character Description
    Name: Harper Holiday
    Gender: Male
    Age: 14
Appearance: Cute, friendly-looking guy with wavy blonde hair. He is of average height for a person and slim-ish in build. Wears clothes.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Skills: Harper's good at swimming, fishing, taking nice photos with cameras and stuff, and making sand castles.
Weaknesses: Socialising has always been quite difficult for him. He's not very assertive and tends to sit on the sidelines, often failing at getting involved in major activities. He's very bad at maths, keeping track of time, and being consistent.

Phase One Power: Waterbreathing (Lv. 1) - He can breathe underwater for much longer time now! Which is great!

    Phase Two Powers:
Waterbreathing Person (Lv. 1) - Being in the water no longer causes fatigue in any way, and can breathe in the water for much longer than before.
Anomalous Water Movement (Lv. 1) - Can make the water jiggle a little bit and make funny shapes.
Animal Allegiance (Lv. 1) - Can attract the sea critters, but cannot command them. They will be non-fearful of him.

    Phase Three Powers:
Waterbreathing Person (Lv. 2) - Basically can live in the water forever.
Anomalous Water Movement (Lv. 2) - Can make water behave in an unruly manner. Also, can manipulate water to allow relatively fast movement without using extremities. Kind of like how octopodes propel themselves through the sea.
Animal Allegiance (Lv. 2) - The sea critters now obey. Can be commanded to behave in an unruly manner. Will can be exerted on larger creatures like tuna fish and the like.

    Background:
Personality: More often than not, quiet and without expression. Is not very well-versed when it comes to interacting with others. Has a low self-esteem and is pretty sensitive. Harper is very altruistic and polite, which are qualities he is very proud of. When it comes to friends, he can be very selective, but won't single someone out or push them away if he can't get along with them. Overall friendly and accommodating. Listens pretty well, not too much of a talker.

Backstory: Before moving to Prefeton, Harper had a good and happy life. Unfortunately due to issues, his parents passed away whilst driving, leaving Harper sad and alone. Because of a lack of guardians, he was moved to Prefeton where his grandparents live and has been there for several years now. He finds his new life to be quite dull, but not bad. Because he's still sad about his parents' passing until this time he had become more withdrawn than before and likes to spend time near the water. He has a place where there's this old boat on the shore and it's nice and quiet, with crabs. When not in school Harper is helping his grandfather catch large quantities of fish to sell at his grandmother's fish shop.

He's accepted, though I would recommend changing his appearance to that of a young Jason Momoa :D

Character Description
Name: “Legally I’m Cecily Shauna Nevverling-Wijgaants, but my real name is Cecil Leopold Nevverling-Wijgaants. Leo works for short. I use Cecil because my parents find it easier.”
Gender: “Assignment aside, Male. He/him if you’d please.”
    Age: 17
    Appearance:
    (Image)
Stands at 172cm(5’7”) with a faint LCD outline, like that of an old television

Strengths and Weaknesses
    Skills:
“I would say I’m talented when it comes to learning languages. Natively I speak English, and I’m more or less fluent in Dutch and Afrikaans, though you could say that’s sort of cheating. I’ve been learning French in and out of school for some time now, and over the past year or so I’ve convinced my father to invest in online Japanese lessons for me, but I wouldn’t describe myself as fluent in either. I’m a major history buff, partially kudos to my father, and I’ve also discovered a passion for economics. I’ve taken a few computer courses in my day, and I can figure stuff out given enough time and googling, but I wouldn’t describe myself as a whiz. I’ve tried my hand at writing, and I must say I find it enjoyable enough that I’m currently working on rewriting old song lyrics to give them new, more progressive life. Though I don’t do it much anymore, I’m still quite good at calligraphy and makeup alike. The two hobbies have more in common than one would imagine.”
    Weaknesses:
“I tried to learn the pipe organ, but I’m absolutely atrocious at music. My teacher commented that he’d never seen anyone struggle so much. It was a nice experience though. I tend to suffer from bad hearing, reaction time, and tunnel vision, which one can imagine makes me bad at team sports. My hands tend to shake sometimes, but I can get them under control. My worst thing still, though, is that I have, like, this motor tic. It’s a twitch or something. I’ll be sitting, and all of a sudden my body will convulse. I tend to shudder when I’m stressed too. My body could do to calm itself, I think.”
    Phase One Power:
Character Model Jailbreak(1): Cecil’s body is no longer firmly bound by certain physical restraints. This manifests in his ability to violate the integrity of his own physical form in a number of ways, albeit with imperfect control. His body may stretch as if it were elastic, although it lacks the structural integrity of someone with a truly elastic body. Likewise, by baseball sliding or tripping into physical obstacles, Cecil may clip through them and glitch out on the other side. Visible glitching occurs in tandem with these activities.
    Phase Two Powers:
Character Model Jailbreak(2): Cecil’s bodily integrity can be more readily violated with greater control. He may clip his entire body through a wall, or simply a part of himself, usually his head, through hard surfaces so long as he tries to hit them with sufficient force and has the desire to clip. His physical modification can be more readily controlled, able to actively control his stretching, as well as effecting minor appearance modifications by holding certain items(Ex: Razor for facial hair, hairbrush for hair, etc).
Commands(1): By saying “T: open chat forward-slash summon”, Cecil can execute the /summon command, enabling him to obtain in his hands any good or entity he or an acquaintance owns, with a lag in summoning that corresponds with their size.
    Phase Three Powers:
Character Model Jailbreak(3): Cecil’s bodily integrity is under his full control, obeying his commands over those of physics. This manifests in his ability to clip/see through walls at will. He may stretch his extremities with similar control to that of a character animated in the rubber hose style, and likewise may effect some appearance modifications through holding certain items.
Commands(3): By saying “T: open chat forward-slash [command]”, Cecil may execute /summon, /give, and /teleport commands. The /summon command may give him objects that he is aware of, even if he does not own them. The /give command spawns items into his hands, creating them new. As both commands place the items in front of him, the practical size limit for the items delivered by these commands is approximately that of a van. The /teleport command is limited to specifically named locations, although coordinates provide the best results.

    Background:
    Personality:
“I fancy myself rather smart, but I don’t like to rub it in. Don’t get me wrong, I like being right, but it’s in the spirit of good faith not to dominate a classroom discussion. I like to make jokes, especially dark ones, and I love a good philosophical game, but I think a casual appreciation of one’s surroundings is not to be underestimated. I used to bite my tongue too often for the sake of politeness, but as I’ve gotten into self-liberation, I think these days I’ve revived a tendency to say whatever wacky nonsense pops into my head. I try to be funny with it, though. I will say I have this capacity for cutting judgement that I still keep in check. My brain will just describe people in brutal ways sometimes, and I have to remind myself that accurate does not always imply socially acceptable. I really prefer to only hurt the feelings of those who have it coming. As far as stress management goes, I’ve come a long way, though as with other things, sometimes I wonder if I’ve overcorrected, as rather than worrying my head off, I find myself rather blasé to pressure. I suppose it’s better than having a fight or flight response to a pop quiz, though. I like to try and be helpful, but I think I still have a negative streak, and, though I try to do myself justice rather than tearing myself down, I’m still sometimes inclined to get despondent and useless.”
Backstory: “I feel like it’s best to begin my story back before I was born, all the way back in a country that no longer exists known as Rhodesia. Well, back in the time I’m talking about, it was called The Colony of South Rhodesia. My mother’s side of the family settled in Salisbury. I know it’s been Harare since before I was born, but it’s a force of habit for me, as I grew up calling it that. If you haven’t already guessed, my maternal line is chock full of aggressive Rhodies. My mother grew up in the family home in Harare with a brother and a sister, her parents, aunts, and grandparents during the post-UDI era. She went off to college at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, and soon was followed by her family with the advent of the Fast-Track Land Reform Programme in 2000. I think they sold the family home, but I don’t know how much money they got, or if it’s even true that they did. They’re very proud of their heritage, which is in large part why I still sound like a Rhodie. Old habits die hard, as they say.

My dad, meanwhile, was born and raised in Port Elizabeth, South Africa with his brother and sister. One side of his family has been there for generations, while the other side, the Nevverlings, originally left India after the Raj dissolved. In any case, I prefer them. They’re pretty socially aware all things considered; indeed, my grandfather personally opposed Apartheid. He holds a certain level of nostalgia when it comes to those things, but at the same time rejects it. He’s an interesting man, to say the least. He’s the history teacher at our high school, actually. Dr. Theodoor Nevverling-Wijgaants.

My parents originally met after my father’s brother and mother’s sister introduced them. My aunt and uncle are actually married, and had introduced their siblings while dating. They settled down in one of the whiter English-speaking neighbourhoods in Grahamstown and had me on October 30th, 2002. I was homeschooled for a lot of my early years. Honestly, I’ll say, those years of my life were quiet. Boring, even. I don’t even remember them that well. Some say it’s trauma, but who am I to say? All I really remember is that they always were ideologically very fussy. Heaven forbid I read Steven Hawking…

My dad worked years away in middle management for the Department of Labour, but never really liked his work. He decided to go back to school after the ‘08, but things went slowly until he managed to get his hands on a two-year grant to wrap up earning his doctorate in History abroad at the University of St. Andrews in Aberdeen. I visited him one summer, and I must say I can tell why he loved it so much. But there was a problem. Back home, my mother started to get nervous, or something to that effect. When I was but 10, she accused my father of cheating with Johanna Wijgaants—the woman who would go on to become my stepmother. So they got a divorce, but my mother couldn’t prove anything, and thus they ended up with de jure joint custody that only really went into effect when my father came back from college when I was 12. In that time, my mother had already remarried to an Afrikaaner man named Samuel. My younger brother and I had to make a lot of adjustments to fit his two sons into our house. They hoped we’d become closer and get to be one happy family, but that was pretty much dead on arrival.

Life with my father around was an adjustment, as we’d been apart for some time, and he still had trouble dealing with stress at first. He tried his best though, and it eventually bore fruit. The opposite occurred with my mother. I get the idea that she always had higher expectations than reality could support, and would get upset when they didn’t live up to that. Something like that, at least. I understand that she had a rough time when my dad was away, but when she remarried, though she fared better on a personal or perhaps spiritual level, she seemed to take a step back from parenting. Sam did most of the parenting from when I was in Grade 7 onward. I never got the impression that he was any good at it, even with his own two kids.

A prime example of this was how privacy was, simply put, of no value to them. They’d always rifle through my electronics and other belongings alike and harangue me about every minor detail as if I was a felon. In their eyes, I suppose I was, as right before my mother remarried, they found I’d been using the internet for purposes that were not, shall we say, approved of. I once had to shower with my grandfather because they believed that I was not shampooing my hair properly, so with all of that in mind, I would say there were certainly major boundary issues that should have been addressed. But they never were.

I suppose that brings us to a pivotal point in my life, where the person you see before you became at all recognisable. I believe I was on a youth retreat at Schoenstatt Retreat and Conference Centre for a girl’s retreat in December of 2015, though it may have been the following year. It’s hard to remember. Until the last year or so, things have been a maelstrom of pain that I’m not keen on revisiting, but I suppose I must, for the sake of an accurate history.

For some time before my weekend at the retreat centre, I’d been overcome with this profound sense of malaise, which indeed was why I’d been sent on the retreat in the first place. I had my iPad with me even though I wasn’t really supposed to, and had been browsing the internet when I happened upon an internet forum that just...awakened something in me. I saw people, real people. And I could relate to them in a way I’d rarely experienced before. The experience was something akin to what I imagine the Downers from the video game We Happy Few experience as they come off their joy. It was as if I’d finally come off of a woozy daydream back into the real world, and saw it as it really was. And that world was shit.

I don’t like framing that moment of time as an epiphany, but I do think it was a spark that set off a powder keg of years of built-up existential angst. Maybe that’s more dramatic, but whatever the case may be, my life has never been the same. I tried a few times to deftly throw off the burdens of my old identity, but everything from attempting to quietly androgynise my name to trying to get my hair cut short was thwarted. I once had long flowing locks of brown hair that went down to my legs, but now, like the weight of the past, I’ve shed them.

The next part of my life that’s important is a fateful night, one on the eve of my brother’s birthday. Some background is necessary first, though. My younger brother is about 3 years my junior, and had become the undoubted favourite on my mom’s side before this tale takes place. I was regarded as the problem child for my isolationist tendencies and lack of enthusiasm for just about anything. The invasion of privacy had teased out vague commentary on my sexuality, and had been making inroads towards deeper issues closer to my core for some time. My mom, and in particular my stepfather, had been getting more aggressive about it over the course of my freshman year.

Then it happened. It was my brother’s birthday dinner with family, a few days before his actual birthday. The Night of Burning Hair, as I call it. We’d driven up near Pretoria, where my stepfather’s parents lived. We went out to eat at the same restaurant we always did, had a toast to my younger brother, and so on. Normal things. All seemed calm for the moment. But then, during the drive home, my stepfather said we’d need to talk about something. I can remember hearing my own heart as him and my mother agreed that there would be no more secrets, and that they were going to set up some new rules. I couldn’t hold out much longer. I knew it for a fact. I would break tonight. I said I needed to go to the bathroom and change before we spoke, and was allowed. I packed a bag with all I held dear, which was luckily quite easy thanks to already having most of my things in a suitcase, went into the bathroom, and turned on the water. I wrote a hasty coming-out note, and left through the window into the night.

My original plan was to find my stepmother’s parents, as they lived in the Pretoria city centre. I tried, but alas I got lost in the unfamiliar cityscape, and ended up trudging through the cold, crisp June night. It must’ve been midnight or perhaps later when I met them. Adriaan, Rynold, and Iggy were their names. I think I owe those three men my life. They were in an alley sitting around one of those metal mobile fire pits, with a little garbage fire going.

At first I thought I was going to die by kidnapping or something when one of them walked up next to me as I sat on a bench and tried to get my bearings. He asked if I was alone. I sighed and placed my face in my hands. He introduced himself as Rynold. Patted me on a back, but in a gentle, caring way. Not pushy or predatory. I later learned around the fire that the trio of men were in a polyamorous relationship, and were down on their luck. They were so kind. Asked nothing of me but that I stayed and warmed myself by the fire, and insisted that I could talk to them. Honestly, thinking about such a pure act of human kindness still brings tears to my eyes. I was able to come out to them, and they immediately switched over, in spite of everything. Then and there, that evening, they offered to cut my hair, and that they did. It was an à la victime hairdo due to the crude knife they used, but for what it lacked in elegance, it more than made up in a euphoric freedom. We used it as kindling to warm our bodies and free my heart. I felt safer out in the cold that night than I had in months, maybe years.

That morning, when I awoke, I dug through my belongings, and gave the trio 500 Rand and a gold ring I’d been given for my 12th birthday. I still feel as if that failed to express how deeply grateful I was and still am for their aid. I set off, and made it to my stepmother’s parents’ house by noon. I think I must’ve fainted after lunch, because it all becomes hard to compute. The struggle felt like it ended, and my spirit gave out. I suppose my war ended, and my father’s began. He’d already been preparing for a custody battle, having seen the state of emotional turmoil it kept me in, not to mention my mother’s frequent breach of the agreement to divorce amicably with her frequent implicit slander in the early days. And so, despite the volatile nature of it all, I ended up thousands of kilometres away from that world in just a matter of months. I switched out of my school over the Christmas holiday, and before I even had time to think, my father, stepmother, and I had moved to America.

I suppose my father always had a plan. I wish my younger brother had come with us, but he opted to stay with my mother when we opened the custodial can of worms. I miss him, but I suppose what’s done is done.

I’ve lived in Prefeton for all of 20 months now, and I must say it’s been an adjustment. When I first arrived, I was still rather shaken from all that’d transpired. I’d already come out to my father and stepmother during the custody proceedings, but it’s only been this summer that my persistence has finally paid off. During my transitory semester, I mostly kept to myself. I think I produced a sort of uncertainty around my gender, or at least, I would have, had it not been for official legal names. I’d gotten in contact with the school administration to get it changed on my student ID and in the yearbook this last year, but it’s a rocky road still. I had to white out my ID last year because my father didn’t want to buy a new one, and that landed me in trouble, but maybe it got the point across.

As much as my life has changed over the past few months, the last few weeks have proven revolutionary. I think the next revolution in my life occurred in my bathroom, and I’m still not sure how I feel about that. It was maybe two weeks ago, during my last period, as I recall it. I’d been having a particularly rough day with regards to dysphoria, and had spent the greater part of the evening with my shirt on in the bathroom clutching my insides over the toilet as my IBS flared up alongside the dysphoric stress. When I finally mentally wrested myself off my seat, I did my traditional vertigo-induced stumble to the sink, and stood nude in front of the mirror as I always did to try and convince myself that things would turn out fine once I removed those two curséd weights from myself.

I started to shower, and sat in the tub with the drops of scalding water raining on my scalp and back as I listened to Deliver Us from the Prince of Egypt soundtrack. I closed my eyes and for a moment, just a moment, tried to imagine the bright future I always told myself I’d have. I’d come so far, and yet, in spite of all the change, my deepest needs still went unmet. I remember, I sighed into my hands, and slowly stood up again.

Vertigo hit. My vision blacked out for a second, and then, when I started to regain my physical stability, I felt a twitch come on. My back muscles tightened, and my vision slightly blurred, as was routine, but what was not routine was what came as my vision began to blur. I heard a scraping noise, like a computer error, and I felt myself enter sensory overload. It was a flash of black and then the outside of my shower curtain. I felt a shock wave go through my back as it all transpired in a split second. It disoriented me so badly that I fell in the shower, and though I luckily didn’t black out, I sat there for what felt like an hour in the shower water. The song ended, and I started to regain my bearings. My insides weren’t hurting anymore.

I started to wash my body, and noticed something else had changed about my situation. Something far less easily explained. As I began to rub the oatmeal-honey soap on my chest, I felt a distinct lack of flesh. My chest was flat. No breasts in sight. I dropped the soap bar, rinsed my hands, and rubbed my eyes. I couldn’t believe it. Surely I was dreaming. Or was I hallucinating? I felt my chest again, and patted it down with my hands. Even though I saw it in the mirror with my own two eyes and felt it with my own two hands and on my spine, I didn’t believe it until I woke up the next morning, and looked in the mirror again. I wondered for a moment what possibly could have caused it, until, as I stood before the bathroom mirror brushing my teeth that very morning, and as I began to think about how I could possibly explain the phenomenon to my father, I did it. I glitched in real life.

I think my base appearance has begun to change in other uncontrollable ways as well. Most noticeably is that when I twitch, my body visibly glitches with an accompanying sound. I think I’ve seen parts of my body jerk away from my body while the glitch occurs. I think it once even did that goat simulator modelling error. More importantly, though, in my opinion, is my voice. It sounds like it’s being broadcast through an antique radio, and is also a hint deeper than it used to be. Some sudden movements for me seem to generate static sounds or something. It’s hard to figure out a rhyme or reason to it.”

I have to confess I haven't fully read through the basckstory at the point, though I will...

I have some concerns about some of that command prompt stuff - looks like 3 powers rolled into one. Gift seems a lot like an inspector gadget bag of tricks and I think would make most scenarios way too easy to overcome individually (I want people to have to rely on each other to a certain extent). Teleport is a hard no because of plot reasons, which I'm not going to expand on :D I'm comfortable with the summoning bit, so long as there is a BIG delay on useful items at phase 1.

No issues with phase 1 though, so feel free to hop straight into the IC while we discuss this.

Absolutely fine, if anything I think you could add a bit more in the way of powers at phase 2/3 (if you want). Consider it accepted and if you feel like adding stuff as we go along, have a chat and we can make that happen!

Only question I have is how you imagine targeting a crowd? I'm guessing you mean people he can see, though if you want it to be a general area of effect at phase 3, I'm comfortable with that... especially if it also affects your friends! I do enjoy a bit of chaos in my threads.

Can I have a character who only has a single phase one ability and that is pulling objects out of images, digital or otherwise? For example, I have a screen big enough to pull out the Tsar Bomba, but when you open it there is nothing inside, I have to pull out and assemble each one to make the bomb (and I’m no nuclear engineer). Another smaller and more relevant example would be pulling out a gun, only to find out there is no ammunition, he has to pull out each ammunition. Also this tires him and the only way to get rid of the tiredness is to eat an amount of food equivalent to the size of the thing being pulled, so I can’t just pull out tanks out of the Time Square Jumbotron.

Character Description
    Name: Rei Fujiwara
    Gender: Male
    Age: 16
Appearance: 5'4", 110lbs. Delicate, slim physique with straight black hair long enough to reach his thighs. Easily mistaken for a girl in both appearance and voice, a misconception aided by his choice of clothing. Yellow-green eyes. For some reason, he often seems to have a lollipop. He also tends to wear quite a bit of jewellery. Despite having a fairly high income, he doesn't tend to wear much in the way of expensive clothing, though it can vary. Could be designer clothes at times, a school uniform, or cheap hoodies at others. Has tattoos on his back (seems to be based on a skeletal depiction of Kiyohime from Japanese folklore) and piercings in certain places. Often wears flower-styled ornaments in his hair.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Skills: Playing PC games. Reading. Cooking. He's quite agile - his speed, bodily coordination, balance, equilibrium, reflexes and dexterity are higher than average, assisting him in rapidly moving in combat and manoeuvring in the face of physical obstacles. He also seems to have some talent at singing. He has fairly good stamina. He has a bit of experience with free-running. He also has some past experience with the Shūkōkai variant of karate, though he isn't a black belt. He also has what can be considered street smarts, having spent his childhood on the streets, and later having spent much of his life among criminals, doing all manner of things at their behest, he has developed quite a knack for dealing with a variety of dangerous situations. He also got good at running and hiding. Quite skilled at gathering information via various means, and shadowing people (it was a useful skill for blackmailing people and stealing). He has some knowledge of psychology. He also speaks fluent Japanese, English and Korean (as well as some Mandarin). Having nothing else to rely on than his looks when he was younger, he has developed a certain charisma that he tends to showcase without thinking.

Weaknesses: Maths (can do some basic maths, but most stuff beyond that gives him a headache, and attempts to learn it are pretty much in one ear and out the other). Out of necessity rather than skill, he would force himself to learn physics and geometry enough to properly calculate teleportation. His strength and endurance can be considered to be below average. Although he has some experience with karate, he doesn't have much talent for fighting. He also has too much of an attachment to drinking, smoking and drugs, and some issues with his personality. Though he's currently off of any particular addiction to drugs, he could very easily find himself dependent. Has trouble sleeping. Grew up in rather shady circumstances, so he lacks the more balanced social experience of the average person. Quite pessimistic, and emotionally fragile behind his usual facade. Self-esteem is pretty much non-existent. Unlike Americans, he doesn't have much experience with firearms.

Phase One Power: Invisibility: (level one): He can turn invisible. His molecules have photo-sensitive properties that enable them react to electromagnetic radiation in the wavelength of visible light in such a way that they render the entirety of Rei's body imperceptible to the naked eye. He needs to concentrate to become invisible or restore his visibility. Objects and clothes do not become invisible with him, though if he places small objects in his mouth/body/swallows them, they will also become invisible. Anything that enters his body becomes invisible (so say, if he is shot, then the bullet, if lodged in him, will become invisible). Anything leaving his body (I.E. blood) would become visible. He is also unable to make others invisible. Others may be able to see him leave footprints. Ultraviolet and infrared cameras/devices will still show him. Rain and other liquids, solids (e.g. paint, dust, flour), fire, etc. may show the user's shape while invisible. Whilst invisible, others can still potentially hear, smell or touch him. Stress/pain/distractions can mess with his concentration, making it more difficult to properly use this power (be it to become invisible or to become visible again, or the power activating without him wanting to do so). A device that projects a field that interferes with electromagnetic radiation could potentially de-cloak him.

Phase Two Powers: Phase-Jumping Radioactive Teleportation (level 1): Utilising phase-jumping radiation, Rei can teleport himself within anywhere in his line of sight. Phase-jumping radiation works via disassembling matter or energy into their component particles, and reassembling them upon arrival after transport. He is limited to only teleporting himself (though if he places small objects in his mouth/body/swallows them, they will also teleport) and his clothes/whatever is carried in his clothes. Anything that enters his body (such as a bullet lodged in him) would also be teleported with him. He needs to concentrate to teleport, and teleporting into a place already occupied by another physical object or person would lead to telefragging (it's pretty much up to chance whether it's him or the thing being teleported that's going to have a bad time). It probably won't kill him, but he'd still probably be stuck and not exactly feeling very well. Before teleporting, there will be a brief wind-up period, and his eyes will emit a yellow-green glow, giving an early sign. Repeated use of teleportation in quick succession may lead to dizziness, headaches, nausea and lack of energy. Continued usage beyond that would potentially lead to temporarily impaired cognition, motor-control skills, temporary paralysis, unconsciousness, bleeding from extremities or other unpleasantness. If he can't see anything, he can't teleport. Teleportation requires sight and certain calculations to be effectively utilised, and it is necessary to concentrate in the process of working out the spatial co-ordinates of jumping between 3-dimensional and 11-dimensional space. Stress, pain and anxiety can thus render teleportation to fail/be unusable. There is also a one second lag when consecutively using his power in fights, leaving him vulnerable in that one second interval before teleporting again. If he was immobilised because of an effect on his mind or body (like something that drugs or paralyses him), teleporting does not end that effect; he'd still be immobilised when he reaches his destination.

Flashing Gaze (level 1): He can emit a blinding light from his eyes, a radioluminescent yellow-green glow that can temporarily blind onlookers, and dazzle those looking at reflections of him. Continued usage of it is fairly inefficient and has a major strain on his eyes. Best used as a brief flash. Forced continuous usage may lead to bleeding from eyes and temporary blindness (for himself). Usage of the power also involves emitting a small amount of radiation, though not enough to be harmful, along with some slight electromagnetic interference and a mild increase in surrounding temperature.

Phase Three Powers: Radiation Emission (level 3): Essentially an evolution of flashing gaze. Within a radius of 1 inch he can emit alpha radiation, within 10 metres he can emit beta radiation, and within around 30 metres, he can emit gamma radiation from his whole body, at a dosage lethal enough to be fatal to others. At first others would suffer extreme disorientation, vomiting and nausea, before going on to receive fatal radiation poisoning. Continuous usage can take its toll on him, and he is not completely immune to the effects of this radiation, though his regenerative ability would ensure he can recover after a bit. It can be used indirectly against someone by irradiating an object, item of food or drink that would later come into their possession/contact. Gamma radiation can be blocked by lead, iron/steel and concrete, and beta radiation can be blocked by aluminium as well, while alpha radiation is blocked by an inch of air or as little as a thin layer of paper. Alpha and beta radiation have long term effects on the human body and will stay for years, whilst gamma radiation, lacking a particle that will stay within a human body, can only do damage in the immediate. As before, his eyes glow with a radioluminescent yellow-green light. When using this power, his body temperature seems unnaturally high to the point of being scalding to the touch, or even burning/melting at touch, and those around him can feel an uncomfortable increase in temperature. Sustained usage would lead to exhaustion, bleeding from orifices, potential unconsciousness and symptoms of radiation sickness. As with the preceding version of this power, it is most efficient if used in a brief flash/high intensity burst. Within the radius of effect the gamma radiation would have a negative effect on most electrical equipment (though simple stuff, like motors, switches, incandescent lights, wiring, and solenoids, would be unaffected even after a very large radiation exposure), and radiation-resistant materials or shielding can be utilised. Most semiconductor electronic components are susceptible to radiation damage, and are likely to be fried by it. He can essentially turn himself into a human nuclear reactor, though as mentioned before, prolonged usage isn't without its side effects. The longer he uses it the brighter the glow, the hotter his temperature, and the higher the radiation emitted. If maintained for a certain period, the heat may reach temperatures enough to burn materials in direct physical contact.

Electromagnetic Regeneration (level 1): He can convert electromagnetic radiation into energy that allows him to increase his own vitality/heal wounds, with the time taken to heal depending on the severity of the injuries. In normal circumstances the healing speed is essentially that of a peak level 1 healing power. It is more of a survival power than a rapid-recovery one. With a healing ability typically several times faster than the average human, a broken bone would take a week for him to recover via the energy obtained from this power. It is passive, and is influenced by how radiation he is exposed to, and what types. Though unpleasant, he can use this energy instead of consuming food and drink, though his body would weaken, and he would feel thirst and hunger. It also allows him to substitute a need for oxygen by relying on radiation to live (though the process is very unpleasant, to say the least, and he would be unable to move his body until he could breathe once more). This recovery stems from the core of his nervous system and heart, working outwards from there. The power of the regeneration can be increased in a synergistic effect when utilised alongside/after radiation emission, boosting it to have greater power than a normal level 1 power, though due to the side effects, it becomes something that is slow in the short-term. It would take time to recover from serious injuries and requires further recovery from some negative side effects, but will increase his survivability in the long-run. He might be able to survive and recover from otherwise fatal or permanent injuries, but he'd be heavily handicapped if not incapacitated for the majority of the time it would take to recover. Obviously he still feels pain, so he would want to avoid injuries if possible. Repeated injuries, acid, electrocution, drugs, objects blocking the healing process, misaligned body parts, etc can interfere with healing process. He can potentially speed up healing, at the cost of forcefully absorbing more electromagnetic radiation, leading to some negative side effects. If his nervous system/brain is targeted and damaged, then this healing would be severely impeded/disrupted, and as he regenerates he may suffer from some side effects, such as amnesia, damaged senses, body coordination/motor skill problems, temporary paralysis, headaches, issues with mental state, impaired cognitive abilities, loss of consciousness at points, etc. He'll probably eventually recover, but these side effects will undoubtedly be a problem for him for at least a bit. This form of healing allows recovery from radiation damage to his cells, DNA, and molecular structure, restoring them to optimal condition. This includes maintaining the length of telomeres, preventing them from shortening during cell division.

Background:
Personality:
Rei usually come across as innocent, cheerful and kind, with an element of mischievousness. Rei is generally fairly cynical, though he can enjoy himself and cast that to the wind at points. He is rather distrusting of others, though he usually masks it behind a faint smile. Whilst his demeanour is generally moderately approachable and pleasant, he is rather self-deprecating, and can be said to have a dry or sarcastic sense of humour. He can also sometimes be a bit too honest when it comes to telling people things they don't want to hear, perhaps knowingly. He's usually fairly polite to others, though if pushed far enough he will drop pretences of cordiality, and comes across as cold and distant. Rei has a habit of assuming ulterior motives when others approach him, and often has to remind himself that he is not in the same situation as he was in the past. He can be considered aware of his appearance, and that others can find it appealing. Likes being admired by others. He also uses the advantages of being thought of as a girl, including sometimes being treated preferentially. Has something of an inferiority complex. He can at rare times be remarkably fearful and eager to obey others, should he be cornered or overpowered, and his facade broken through. Rei is usually emotionally distant, refusing to allow anyone to become too close to him, though he may not always succeed, and can sometimes come off as shy and apprehensive rather than harsh or confrontational, a demeanour supported by a lack of experience in anything approaching a healthy relationship. He sometimes displays fear and anxiety at the touch of others, particularly when off guard or taken by surprise, though his outer façade or "shell" of calmness is usually a sufficient mental barrier. He can be considered to have a dedicated, almost obsessive will regarding whatever task he puts himself to, or is assigned to. That said, if left to his own devices, he can be a bit unmotivated academically. He's a bit tsundere, though if he gets attached to someone enough, possibly a bit yandere.

Rei lacks much in the way of social skills, and in some ways is naïve, yet at the same time pessimistic and jaded, ruthless to those that get in his way, yet also expecting or anticipating others to grind him into the dirt, or attempt to do so. From his experiences growing up, he was taught that surviving and protecting himself through whatever means necessary was more important than ethical considerations or pride. He's used to not having anyone else to protect him, and is accordingly wary. Uncertain what emotions and thoughts he feels are genuine or not, and whether or not they are a result of the "conditioning" he received as a young child. Unfortunately for him, his most vivid memories are the ones he would most like to forget, though he sometimes justifies the things that have happened to him, as being something he deserved. It can be said that he lacks self-worth. As far as he sees it, Rei just wants to survive and prove himself worthy of existing in the eyes of others. He tries to convince himself that their happiness is his happiness, and that their will is more valuable than his own. He had originally given in long ago, virtually bereft of any thoughts of rebellion or escape, simply focusing obedience to those he was taught to obey. He had no lofty ambitions, no desire for revenge or noble goals of helping others. Since arriving in America, he has changed a little, with more rebelliousness than he had displayed in the past. He can be sympathetic towards those who have been through similar things to him. Though he would usually simply outright avoid thinking or talking about it, he has certain insecurities regarding his parentage and abandonment after birth. He fears being seen as useless and discarded by others, or being betrayed by someone he might get attached to. He also fears being trapped/restrained or otherwise completely at someone's mercy.

He sometimes seems a bit absent-minded, and he may have memory problems due to the effects of the various drugs and trauma in the past. Said drug-usage in the past has also led to some of his mental irregularities, though anyone would have "irregularities" given experiences similar to him. Given his past, it shouldn't be surprising that he has some mental issues. Probably has PTSD. He usually resorts to escapism to deal with his past trauma, distracting himself and avoiding thinking or talking about it when possible. Quite fond of playing online games in his spare time, as much as also he distracts himself from unpleasant thoughts by drinking, smoking, trying new food, clothes, reading, watching stuff or other pursuits. He also has some appreciation for anime, manga and cosplaying, as well as reading Japanese, Korean and Chinese webnovels online (as well as Korean Manwha and Chinese manhua and donghua). Has quite a soft spot for cute animals, and cannot decide whether he likes cats or dogs more. Though he can cook, he's sometimes lazy and goes for junk food instead, and has developed a fondness for Nissin Soba pot noodles.

Backstory:
In Japan, one is considered by law to be a part of common society if one is registered in the Koseki, or family registry system. If one does not, then they are effectively a non-existent person, outside the system, and ineligible for citizenship. Though for self-evident reasons the true numbers are difficult to determine, research indicates that there are approximately 3000 children born in Japan each year that are bureaucratically, administratively and legally invisible. Many of these invisible children grow up to be invisible adults and spend their lives on the periphery of Japanese society, unable to participate as full citizens. Those "invisible people" who are unregistered, are known as mukosekisha. For the unregistered, there is no established link between the individual and the state and no legal connection to family members. As a result, they have no or limited access to services such as education, welfare and insurance. Medical care is severely compromised. The ability to obtain a driver’s licence, a passport and the right to vote and to own or rent property becomes difficult, if not impossible. Without legal status, the unregistered are also generally disadvantaged financially because they cannot legally work. They are open to exploitation as their ability to exercise democratic rights is compromised. People in this position are also often impacted by stigma and prejudice, making their situation isolating and difficult to address. The large majority of unregistered in Japan become so at birth.

Rei had no family register. He does not know his birthdate, and he does not know what his parents originally named him. With such an unfortunate beginning, he was inevitably thrust into the dark side of society from an early age. Born unwanted, he began life as an orphan in Kamagasaki, or Airin-chiku as it is currently known; one of the less reputable parts of Osaka, and the biggest slum in Japan. He spent his earlier years living among the detritus of society, stealing to survive. His money, clothing and food came wherever he could find it. At times, he acted as a spy or messenger for local gangs. From as far back as he could remember, it was use or be used. With no adults to protect him, he could only rely on himself. Living as a child abandoned on the streets, the only way to live alone was to do anything to survive, weathering the situation with mind and body. Children need protection. Still, if nobody protects you, you have to live with damage and dirt.

Rei's only saving grace was his appearance. His looks made living easier. This was something he had come to realise at an early age. His beauty was something he honed and relied upon. Rei was sometimes picked on due to his remarkably feminine looking appearance, though he tried to use it to get people to protect him. Sometimes locals looked after him and helped him. Of course, given his situation, living in a crime-ridden, dangerous environ, such an approach had mixed results. There were always people who targeted those unable to defend themselves, and he inevitably ended up having some ...unpleasant encounters. If someone is a beautiful person, there are some adults that take a particular ... interest in them, even if they are young children. Rei had never read the Tale of Genji, but he rapidly came to realise that there were such adults out there, in the back alleys of Osaka. Still, Rei rationalised, he would do whatever he could to survive. Doing whatever it took to earn the protection of others, it was thus that he was picked up by a member of the local Yakuza.

He was taken away, and ended up being sold into slavery by a local Yakuza group known as the Komasa-gumi. Thus began an involuntary entry into into the sex industry, though he was not paid, or for that matter, fully aware of the nature of what they were making him do. He was often drugged, though the nature of said narcotics varied (among various others, they included heroin, meth, cocaine and ecstasy). Sometimes he remembered, and was unable to move. Sometimes they made him stop caring. Sometimes he woke up, his mind empty and unaware of what had transpired. His "brainwashing" was aided by drugs, electric shocks, behavioural conditioning, psychological and psychical torture, and this included his memory being tampered with and overwritten. Thoughts of fighting back and escaping were tampered with. If he thought about biting, hitting or otherwise resisting them, a subconscious aversion arose, his brain telling him "how could think of hurting such a dear person to him?" With his mind warped in such a state, he felt like he couldn't even control or trust his own thoughts. Considering his particularly feminine appearance, it wasn't too surprising that there were very soon interested parties, though he was still quite young at the time.

In debt to a certain Yakuza organisation identifying itself as Ryōgokuya-kai, he was told it would take 10 years to pay off the debt, and prostitution was the main means of doing so. He had to both repay the debt, and cover the costs for looking after himself. The organisation did not release people for free, and if he ever desired to escape the hell he had been raised in, this was the only way out. It later turned out that the total sum he 'owed' would never be repayable, and he was little more than property. He might in time have purchased himself a certain level of freedom, but freeing from the world he grew up in wouldn't be that easy. At some point he would stop caring. It was simply the way the world worked, or at least this was how he attempted to rationalise it to himself. At another point, he would steadfastly cling to this life. Unsurprisingly, this lifestyle had a mental toll on him, and at times he fell ill with a fever and collapsed, at which point he would be rested for a day or two before returning to his work. His ability to heal meant that he was singled out for the most extreme things, something also undoubtedly affected him psychologically. He was often filmed, and the recordings were sold on the black market as "back videos" or backdoor videos as they were known in Japan. At some point he developed an addiction or dependency to one of the drugs he was given, and he came to have a habit of taking it in the form of sweets. Subsequently, he ended up developing a habit of regularly collecting sweets to nibble on, including lollipops. One thing he was often given was a lollipop that combined ecstasy and GHB). He was distant towards others at best, and was a shy, easily frightened child with a deep lack of self-worth, though he gradually developed a shell or facade behind which he could seem calm, or even happy. Behind this shell, fear, rather than hatred or desire for revenge, was the prevailing emotion.

The closest thing to a mother for him was another prostitute, Mitsuki Uematsu, though she preferred him to consider her an older sister. At the establishment she was considered one of the more popular ones, and enjoyed a number of privileges courtesy of being the favourite of a high ranking Yakuza. She seemed kind and understanding, smiling faintly and saying she could take the place of the family he lacked. Rei, for the most part was deeply wary of others, though very submissive and quick to obey the demands of others. In spite of the trauma and "conditioning" he had gone through, there was always a part of him, shrouded in fear and anxiety, that desperately sought the kindness, warmth and comfort of family, or an embrace that was different from that of grubby strangers or crooks looking to relieve some stress. Scared of being abandoned just as much as being punished for not heeding her words, he became increasingly attached to her. It later became apparent that she had problems of her own. After a major incident that resulted in his fall from grace, the Yakuza whose patronage she received, began to lash out whenever he visited her. She was treated worse and worse by the Yakuza, and it began to effect the way she behave. She grew more and more insecure, and her own bottled up anger and frustration began to spill over. With no other way to vent things, she began turning to him. She became increasingly controlling, desperate to have some form of escape or power in her life, though Rei always saw her as kind, welcoming and motherly. Whilst sometimes manipulative and demanding, she was never cruel with her words, nor did she resort to violence, no matter how stressed she was. At some level they both knew it was an unhealthy relationship, but compared to everything else, it was like a glimpse of heaven. Rei stayed at that particular brothel for the better part of two years, at points being "rented" elsewhere, until he was transferred for good, to a place in another city. He never saw her again.

Several years passed. At some point he fell into the hands of someone who decided to keep him a bit more permanently, the Ryōgokuya-kai Yakuza boss himself, Seiichirō Fujiwara. It would be from him that Rei would be given his name, as well as his tattoos. Thus, he was "adopted". It could have been worse, Rei told himself. At least he was useful to others. At least he had food and shelter. Sometimes clothes, too, though they were usually those worn by women. It sometimes hurt, and Rei sometimes suffered abuse that easily rivalled that of his previous "patrons" when servicing Seiichirō, his subordinates and guests (be they male or female), but at least he didn't die. Surely ceasing to exist was worse. Inevitably, his warped mind warped even further. He deserved it. Most of the time, he preferred to distract himself and avoid thinking about it, but when he did, he struggled to come to terms with his life, resultantly alternating in his mindset, veering between different coping mechanisms. He told himself that survival was most important, and that obeying their commands and pleasing them as he had been instructed, was his purpose for living. He should be glad. This was what he was told, and Rei in turn tried to convince himself that this was the case, though there was always a part of him that was uncomfortable and scared.

Along the way, he was sometimes told to run errands, eventually learning how to blackmail the enemies of whomever owned him, often lowering their guard through his apparent femininity and youth in the process. He would work his way into people's trust, or at least a situation in which he could take important information from them, and escape. Some targets were lured or drugged, then recorded in compromising situations with him. He also played a minor role in helping orchestrate conflicts between rival criminal organisations, framing individuals and spreading misinformation to them and the authorities. Such a vocation was obviously dangerous, and ended up in no small share of fights. Sometimes things went well. Other times, not so much. He wasn't a natural born fighter, only a boy who used his looks to survive. Rei knew his priorities, and that most of the time he could only escape or endure. He knew well enough by now, how to take a beating. One way or another, he endured, and did his job as best he could. After a point, the stealing, information-gathering, fighting and prostitution began to blur together, and in some cases, it overlapped. Those who were particularly well-acquainted with him referred to him as "Rei-chan," though a common pseudonym he utilised was Mitsuyo Kawashima.

When he was 12, he was enrolled at a struggling junior high school with an unofficial reputation for corruption among the staff and delinquency among the children. With some bribery and pulled strings with some figures entrenched in governmental administration and bureaucracy, his identification was fabricated. His family register marked him as a 12 year girl old with deceased parents, living with an uncle, which the record conveniently omitted, was a Yakuza. Thus, at least as far as he was publicly concerned, Rei had become a student. Adapting, and learning how to better act in public, in more normal social situations, he did reasonably well integrating himself into normal education, though he was always a bit distant. At times moments of mischievousness and rebelliousness could be seen, though to figures of authority he was usually particularly obedient.

By this point his loyalty, dedication and obedience was quite clear, and there were no concerns about him causing trouble or disappearing. He was given a bit more freedom, sometimes being allowed to take on contracts for blackmailing, information gathering or interrogation. He would often masquerade as a student, blackmailing people, obtaining money from them and then discarding them. Given a certain amount of leeway, it was revealed that he had a certain talent for gathering dirt and finding information in a slightly more hands-on manner. Thus it was that he sometimes served as an interrogator or torturer, knowing full well that the methods he had been subjected to could be put to good use on others. It was usually more psychological than physical, and that it was done by a seemingly innocent schoolgirl intensified the confusion and humiliation of the targets. He was also granted some time to enjoy himself after undertaking successful missions, though he had to be ready to heed the call of the Ryōgokuya-kai whenever necessary.

Rei lived in a luxury apartment in Shinjuku, a condominium with a rent of 580,000 yen. Living in an expensive condo in Tokyo was not something he could do on his own, of course. In truth it wasn't actually owned by him, and only a fraction of the money was actually his. In Japan, a guarantor is required to live in a rental apartment, and this is especially the case for minors. A minor guarantor is also referred to as an identity underwriter. If a minor is involved in an incident or is questioned by the police or has an accident, his identity is transferred to a known identity underwriter. In Rei's case, the identity underwriter, meant to be a trusted adult capable of legally assuming his identity and ensuring his safety, was a Yakuza sent to watch over him and manage him.

He occasionally travelled to South Korea, Taiwan, China and the US, sometimes masquerading as a student, supposedly travelling with an "uncle" or distant relative. As before, his activities varied considerably, and amounted to essentially whatever the Ryōgokuya-kai wanted him to do. He had long occupied an odd position in the Ryōgokuya-kai, as someone sold to them as a child, as little more than a slave, and as someone sworn by the traditional Yakuza oath as a loyal "child" of the oyabun/godfather. He was technically yakuza, yet at the same time subordinate to proper members of the syndicate. As far as Rei saw it, it was simply natural. He was also taught Shūkōkai karate by Ryūzō Maeda, one of Seiichirō's top subordinates, though he only has a couple of years worth of experience in that. In his spare time, he developed a fondness for reading, playing PC games, and trying new clothes and jewellery. Under the influence of the nationalistic Yakuza, he also developed a certain view of Japan and the history of East Asia, and a dislike of the US. With a mischievousness he rarely displayed near the Yakuza, he developed an appreciation for trolling people online, be it in forums or online games. He also got to hang around on 2chan and 4chan quite a bit, and has a certain following on Youtube and Niconico, mostly doing stuff based around gaming, fashion and anime/manga discussion. He also ended up doing some webcam-based activities on the side.

When he was 15, things changed. This involved an ex-Yakuza, Yoshimasa Watanabe, an American investigative journalist by the name of Madeleine Salkin, and a joint operation between American and Japanese authorities. During an investigation by Salkin into the Japanese criminal underworld, particularly in regards to the Yakuza presence in Hawaii and Los Angeles, assisted by the authorities, he obtained the cooperation of Watanabe. Watanabe was a former Ryōgokuya-kai member, though one more principled by most, and disgusted by some of the things they had participated in over the past twenty years. During the investigation, the search of an old, supposedly disused warehouse in a wharf alongside Tokyo Bay, a stash of past "recordings" of him were uncovered. This was the start of their uncovering some of the details of the human-trafficking activity of Yakuza in Tokyo, as well as smuggling operations in Hawaii and Los Angeles, though with how well-concealed the most important operations were, they struggled to obtain substantial information. Around this time Rei had gone to the California, accompanied by one of his handlers. After Watanabe pointed out a popular nightclub in LA owned by a Japanese businessman, a surprise search of the building allowed authorities to apprehend several Yakuza using one of the back rooms to conduct their business, discussing smugglings drugs to the US and firearms to Japan, whilst Rei had been serving in his usual capacity.

After being found by American authorities, Rei would being placed into care. On the Japanese side of things, severity of the investigation rose after several kidnapping attempts, and a prominent investigator being found beaten to a comatose state at a hotel he was staying at, it became apparent that someone with power in the Japanese criminal underworld was rather unhappy with developments, and was very keen on blocking the investigation as much as possible. Some involved in the case were intimidated or bribed into distancing themselves, and others were forced to use police protection. As far as Japanese and US authorities knew, and as far as he divulged, he was simply a victim of society's failings, an orphan to fell prey to human trafficking and child exploitation by the Yakuza. While they asked if he knew any important information, he claimed he knew nothing of any value, an while talking about his experiences, avoided mentioning names, places or dates. Part of his reluctance to divulge information stemmed from what he had been taught, which included a fear of police, authorities and inquiring adults. It also did not help that he had some memory problems. Seeing him as a victim, they accordingly did not attempt any thorough interrogation. With some of the details he had divulged, and the evidence found in the warehouse in Japan before, many of those investigating were appalled by what he had endured, and it was designated a special case.

Whilst avoiding divulging anything important, the time he spent with the caseworkers and police reminded him of things he had long forgotten about. At first struggling with the idea of disobedience or independence to those he has grown up under, the earnest effort of those involved in his case and their efforts to help rehabilitate him lit a spark. Though he still feared potential punishment or reprisal from the Yakuza, he began to once again harbour some hope of escaping from his old life. The journalist who had helped spark the investigation was allowed to interview him, after he accepted her offer. Salkin, after getting acquainted with him and the case, became increasingly sympathetic to his situation. With no family in Japan to look after Rei, Salkin volunteered to become his legal guardian and look after him, giving him a new life in the US. At her suggestion, and the agreement of the person in charge of the case, Rei would be sent to live on the East Coast of America, away from the network of influence of those who knew him. With the necessary administrative and legal matters in Japan and America settled, including the necessary paperwork, and the assignment of appropriate protection and legal representation, Rei would stay in the US. Salkin was a native of Maine, and more specifically, happened to live in Prefeton. Rei spent some time adapting to life in America, whilst any further preparations beyond that were made. Alongside Salkin, a care-worker in child protective services was also assigned to him, to ensure any further needs for rehabilitation were met. Eight months ago, Rei arrived in Maine. What had originally been a brief stint in Los Angeles became an opportunity to escape the grip of the Yakuza, and to live in Prefeton, 6,600 miles away from his previous life in Tokyo.

Within couple of weeks, he was enlisted at the local school, seemingly a Japanese girl who had moved to America. At least, that was how the story went. So far, Rei has had a fairly quiet life in Prefeton, coming across as a bit odd and sometimes distant, but otherwise more or less successful in adopting a mask of normality. Currently, he has few friends, and most people he knows of his age would be considered acquaintances at best. Recently, he discovered his ability to become invisible. Understandably, he is a bit self-conscious about the fact that his clothes are still visible when utilising this power. The implications are pretty obvious, and even if he's not exactly got much pride, and it would be far from the first time he'd have been exposed in front of strangers (even if they can't see him), it would still be a bit embarrassing. That aside, he has contemplated potentially using it to steal or spy on people, as well as generally cause trouble and troll people, though he has yet to do so. Of course, just like anyone who had ever fantasised about having superpowers, he has also thought about using it to spy on girls (or boys) getting changed or taking showers. As far as his sexuality goes, he swings both ways. So far in the US he hasn't really been in any relationships, and having been registered as a girl, others believe him to be one. Sooner or later they may get a surprise, though. He's also wary about others potentially finding out this power, and dragging him into all sorts of trouble. The last things he needs after having escaped Japan's criminal underworld, would be to end up being targeted by the US government, mad scientists or whatever for experimentation. As far as things currently go, his past has not caught up with him.

Well that's silly, isn't it?

Phase One Power: 3rd Pursuit Group - Sofie can summon eight members of the 3rd Pursuit Group, a World War Two special operations team. Every operator in the team is named after a letter in the military alphabet, starting from Alpha to Hotel. The operators do not have faces, and instead have smooth blank slates. Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie have special roles. Alpha is the squad gunner, who has a M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle. Bravo is an anti-tank specialist, who has an M1 Bazooka. Charlie is a sniper, who has a Springfield Model 1903. Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, and Hotel, are all rifleman with M1 Garands. The 3rd Pursuit Group is enchanted beyond human capabilities, along with their weapons. They have very high accuracy with their shots, and the stopping power of each bullet is immerse - able to blow through modern body armor or a lightly armored vehicle. Charlie, the sniper, has a longer range than everyone else because of his rifle and job. Every member can run up to 20.72 km/h without stoppage for hours. Reload speed is fast - it’ll take only a few seconds from them to switch empty magazines for a fresh one. Bravo, AT specialist, can cripple a modern armored fighting vehicle, along with modern MBTs, but significantly less.

3rd Pursuit Wing - Sofie can summon two P-51 Mustangs as air-support for the 3rd Pursuit Group. Both P-51 Mustangs are named in accordance to the military alphabet, W-Alpha and W-Bravo. Both units of attack craft have four .303 in (7.7 mm) machine guns and four 80 lbs bombs. The two pilots, like their infantry counterparts, have capabilities beyond that of a normal human. Maneuvers that would normally require the pilot to be highly skilled and fit, are done commonly by W-Alpha and W-Bravo without issue. The aim and vector attack line-up of both W-Alpha and W-Bravo are uncanny in accurate, only limited by the plane’s ability and technology. The .303 British bullets are able to destroy a moderately armored vehicle, and bombs able to destroy a modern MBT.

3rd Mortar Support Team - Sofie can summon a team of twenty-four men to man six 60mm mortars in support of the 3rd Pursuit Group. The mortars and shells are normal, but the men manning them are faster in firing speed due to their enchanted nature. There’s nothing else to say on them. Anything left out in this mortar team, just assume it’s on normal human standards
.

Nobody else was saying anything (that I know of). Thought I would chime in.

I think it's a really interesting power but probably too OP. If phase 1 is summoning 8 soldiers? That definitely beats my character's phase 1 power of running 17 mph.
The Clockwork Circus - Welcome to a steampunk RP rife with crime, gangs, beggars, and starting off as the lowest of the low, in the lowest socio-economic place there is.

Nea Videssos wrote:Well, not sure if this will fully work/be appropriate since it's essentially a rewritten/rejigged version of my Yakuza trap from a bunch of other superhero/metahuman RPs, but here it is:

Character Description

Out of necessity rather than skill, he has forced himself to learn physics and geometry enough to properly calculate teleportation.

Stress/pain/distractions can mess with his concentration, making it more difficult to properly use this power.

He is limited to only teleporting himself (though if he places small objects in his mouth/body/swallows them, they will also teleport).

When using this power, his body temperature seems unnaturally high to the point of being scalding to the touch, and those around him can feel an uncomfortable increase in temperature.

Electromagnetic Regeneration (level 1): He can convert electromagnetic radiation into energy that allows him to increase his own vitality/heal wounds to a certain extent. With a healing ability typically 3 times faster than the average human, a broken bone would take a week for him to recover via the energy obtained from this power. The power of the regeneration can be increased in a synergistic effect when utilised alongside radiation emission, boosting it to have greater power than a normal level 1 power, though due to the side effects, it becomes something that is slow in the short-term (though it would take time to recover from serious injuries and requires further recovery from some negative side effects) but will increase his survivability in the long-run. In normal circumstances the healing speed is equal to the average phase 1 healing power.

Rather self-deprecating, he has a dry or sarcastic sense of humour, and can sometimes be a bit too honest when it comes to telling people things they don't want to hear (perhaps knowingly).

Accepted, in part because the naked invisible person is so friggin' creepy.

In my opinion the 8 soldiers is more of a T3 ability. remember T1 isn't supposed to be much more useful than having peak human speed/strength/whatever.

Guuj Xaat Kil wrote:Can I have a character who only has a single phase one ability and that is pulling objects out of images, digital or otherwise? For example, I have a screen big enough to pull out the Tsar Bomba, but when you open it there is nothing inside, I have to pull out and assemble each one to make the bomb (and I’m no nuclear engineer). Another smaller and more relevant example would be pulling out a gun, only to find out there is no ammunition, he has to pull out each ammunition. Also this tires him and the only way to get rid of the tiredness is to eat an amount of food equivalent to the size of the thing being pulled, so I can’t just pull out tanks out of the Time Square Jumbotron.

I'd like a few more details on this. What I want to avoid is people being able to get whatever they need right away. This does come with the drawback of needing a screen, but it still seems very powerful.

Character Description
    Name: Atalia Bayer
    Gender: Female
    Age: 17
Appearance: 5'5'' with auburn hair, hazel eyes and a relatively pale complexion
    Image

Strengths and Weaknesses
Skills: Atalia is relatively athletic and a generally solid all-round student (though she doesn't excel at any particular area). She is a talented archer and can often be found out, behind her house, practising with either a recurve or compound bow. While this might seem like dedication to the sport, for Atalia this is also a form of stress release.
Weaknesses: Atalia is somewhat preoccupied with a need to remain popular amongst her peers, which means she will
Phase One Power: lvl 1 Camouflage: Atalia can blend seamlessly into the shadows, becoming all-but invisible, provided she is somewhere dark and she isn't moving.
lvl 0: Atalia has the plot-driving, but otherwise pointless power of 'true sight'... which in keeping with my attempts not to spoiler anything will not be explained :D
Phase Two Powers: lvl 1 Speed: Atalia is able to move at speeds of up to about 16 miles per hour, making her uncannily fast on the running track.
lvl 1 Enhanced Archery: Atalia now has the draw strength (does not translate into normal strength), speed and accuracy of an Olympic archer.
lvl 1 Camouflage & lvl 0: True Sight remain.
Phase Three Powers: lvl 2 Camouflage: Atalia can now move while remaining under the influence of her supernatural cloak, though people will still spot her if she tries something silly like running across an open field... or yelling. When she is hiding in the shadows she is all but invisible.
lvl 2 Speed: Atalia can now run at up to 40 mph, making her able to reposition herself rather quickly.
lvl 2 Enhanced Archery: Atalia can aim and fire with a bow far faster than a normal person... and can hit her target with unerring accuracy.

Background:
Personality: Atalia is a popular young woman with a vibrant, positive personality. Atalia defines herself by her popularity, has a deep-seated need to be the centre of attention and makes a point of trying to win everybody at the school over and include them in her 'circle'. This doesn't always work, and there are more than a few people who she hasn't managed to get onside. When faced by overt dislike, she tends to get very upset.

Atalia is also something of a wild-child, with an uncanny ability to get her hands on alcohol (she flirts with the guy who runs the local liquor store on a Sunday night). When drunk she has a potentially irritating tendency to show off and make a scene.

Backstory:Atalia comes from a privileged background, an only child of two New York bankers. Almost as soon as Atalia was born her mother returned to work, and most of Atalia's formative years were spent in the care of a series of nannies. She yearns for a closer relationship with them, yearns for siblings though she is unable to articulate this and the pent-up angst manifests as a borderline disrespectful attitude to her parents. Her parents, for their part, are mostly apathetic towards their daughter's antics. Provided she doesn't kill someone (or herself), they don't care too much what she chooses to get up to.

Five years ago, just in time to join Prefeton High school, her parents relocated to the island, where her father continues to do business remotely. Atalia's first year was difficult; Prefeton was a very different place from New York and she initially found it difficult to make friends. From her second year though, Atalia has been steadily building a strong base of friends around her, though her fears of going back to the days when she didn't have anyone to sit with at lunch can sometimes lead to her going a little over-the-top in her efforts to impress her peers.

Over the years, Atalia has come to quite like Prefeton. She goes running in the island's woods, swimming on the beach in summer while the town itself has a movie theatre, some shops and enough interesting people to keep her entertained. Her parents also give her a sizeable allowance, which helps. While, a few years ago, the thought of escaping the island seemed wonderful, now, the thought that she will need to leave her home to go to College fills her with sadness and an inexplicable sense of looming dread.

In recent weeks, Atalia has been suffering from a series of horrific, vivid dreams which have startled her awake in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat. She hasn't told anyone about them yet, though she is itching to discuss them with someone. Preferably when they are slightly drunk and less likely to scoff at her or tell her she is crazy.

As the new school year is about to start, Atalia has organised a beach party in a secluded bay on the island's North coast and invited everyone who's phone number she has, who in turn have invited everyone on their phones. There are expected to be quite a few people there. It is supposedly a dry event, though anyone who has ever met Atalia before will know that isn't going to last very long...

He can also make small crowds of people (5-10 people) hear it if he focuses very hard, deafening them but not entirely disabling them. He can control the volume of the music for himself, but not when it plays. Voices of operas send random messages to him (things like "run" when there is danger, or in some cases, the voices may lead him TO danger i.e. "go in there") the messages are random and don't always occur.
Phase Three Powers: Marshall can fully debilitate crowds of people with the music, and can knock a person unconscious with music. He can control when he wants to hear the music, how loud it will be, and even specific songs if he so desires (as long as they are classical for some reason). The operatic messages are more frequent and more specific ("don't trust him") but still are inconsistent in their intent, with some voices lying to him or leading him into danger still.

Changed it to be a tad stronger, adding a little secondary ability as well but it's still related to the music. Yes it should affect friends as well, though I imagine at higher levels of control he can limit the effect for allies. I did imagine it's people he can see, or generally crowds of people in his sightline.

Okay, edited and I hope this is better.

Character Description
    Name: Austin Marrow
    Gender: Male
    Age: 16
Appearance: Caucasian male measured at 5'7" and has a medium build. Skin shows very little tan, and his eyes are a dark green. He keeps his light brown hair cut short, but not quite buzz cut short. He doesn't have any significant fat layer, and has noticeable muscle mass, but not quite on an athlete's level.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Skills: Shooting, making explosives, decent in math, keeping stuff clean, getting out of tough situations.
Weaknesses: He is a slow learner, and tends to get in the same kind of trouble a lot. He has a bit of a short temper, but is not ill-tempered, he has gotten a fair few suspensions for punching "whizzkids". He sometimes shows blatant disregard for the law and rules, "I don't give a damn what the HOA says, I'm gonna burn my trash when I want to!" he once said.
Phase One Power: Phase I Physical Damage Resistance: Blunt-force trauma via some sort of weapon in the hands of say, someone on PCP will not kill him, and in this Phase could still injure him (in later phases he will not be injured and could survive more powerful blows, but he couldn't survive a building collapsing or super-strength level powers). Resistance to small knife blades (like a pocket knife or small dagger), being stabbed/slashed with one of these will not kill him, but he would still feel the same pain and therefore have the same reaction as a normal person who got hit with the same thing. Resistance to small, light bullets (.22 short, .22 long, .22 long rifle, .17 HMR, .22 Winchester Magnum, .25 ACP, .22 Hornet, .17 Hornet), he could still be killed by these, but not as easily as a normal person would (it would take something like 5-6 headshots instead of one, but some people in real life survived much more grievous brain injuries.) He can resist small birdshot like No. 8, but not any loads bigger than that. His bones are harder to break than normal people with the densest of bones, and his bones won't budge should he fall from a height of 15-20 feet.
Phase Two Powers: Phase II Physical Damage Resistance: All capabilities in Phase I, minus the lethality of the smallest pistol cartridges, and pain from wounds will be noticeable, but it will be very annoying and distracting rather than incapacitating. He can now resist stabs/slashes from larger edged weapons like combat knives and small hatchets, though this would again cause the same pain and reaction if a normal person were stabbed/slashed. Resistance against mainstream carry cartridges fired from autoloading handguns (9mm, .380 ACP, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, etc.), though still lethal, it would take one or two Glock 17 magazines of 9mm to kill him, depending on where they struck, how they traveled through the body, and what kind of ammo (normal people can easily survive hits from 9mm, which is why the FBI switched to 10mm/.40 S&W), and one or two 1911 mags to kill, and so on, and of course he still feels the same pain as a normal person would. Some resistance to small rifle cartridges (.223/5.56 NATO, 7.62x39mm, 5.45x39mm, .17 Hornet and .22 Hornet, etc.), these could kill him more easily than the pistol cartridges, but it would still take more lead than to get rid of your average home invader (believe me, normal people can survive something like 5.56 easily, as it either passes through completely and does little damage, or loses power over distance and does barely any damage.) His bones are even harder to break, and they won't budge after something like a 25-35 foot fall. He has resistance to all birdshot loads fired from shotshells, which may still be lethal, but you really have to pump in the lead to kill him with birdshot, as your best bet is to bleed him out with a waterfowl load. No resistance to buckshot, slugs, or mainstream hunting rounds.
Phase I Combative Strength: Not typical super strength, spread over a wider variety of muscle uses, best utilised in a combat situation. At this stage, he could throw a 180 pound man across a room, and could punch through things like wood, weaker metals (aluminum, for instance), and typical house construction materials excluding brick, as well as breaking bones with ease. He could jump slightly higher and farther than the record holders for farthest distance jumped and highest jump due to enhanced strength in his legs (for instance, he could easily jump onto the roof of a trailer home and jump from one side of a typical street to the other.)
Phase Three Powers: Phase III Physical Damage Resistance: All capabilities from Phase II, with pain being reduced to a very annoying and distracting thing rather than completely incapacitating and the possibility of death being remote, and all pain from Phase I being reduced to almost nothing. Resistance against large edged weapons like machetes, full-sized axes, swords, etc. Pain is equivalent to what a normal person would feel, as usual. Resistance to mainstream hunting cartridges like .243, .270, .308, 6.5mm, Military Surplus ammo, etc. Pain is slightly dulled just enough to slow him greatly, and death is still possible if enough rounds hit him OR if incendiaries are being used. He has resistance to mainstream buckshot loads like No. 4 and 00, while resistance to slugs is minimal, but not negligible. His bones will stay intact after falling from heights like 70 feet.
Phase III Combative Strength: Could throw a morbidly obese man across a room, and can punch through thin layers of steel, and bones would be crushed. He could jump to the roof of a 2-story building or perhaps 40 feet in front of him (world record is 29 feet).

Background:
Personality: Austin is a rather nice guy, but can come off as slightly rude to those who don't know him. He has an obvious distaste for authority, and views the law as unnecessarily restrictive and sometimes downright tyrannical. He likes to help out with manual labor occasionally, and had a dislike for "whizzkids", as he finds them annoying. He is somewhat extroverted, and hates being inside all damn day.
Backstory:(How did you come to be here?) Born and raised on Prefeton, he has only been onto the mainland three times. He is a hard worker, as he grew up planting pine trees on the 6 acres his parents owned. (is 6 acres too much? I own 6 acres and it really isn't a lot of land.) He enjoys fishing and hunting, as well as blowing things up. "Tannerite was one of my favorite toys." he once said. He only uses explosives when deer season is over, so as to not scare them. He has gotten part time jobs working on fishing boats, including some lobster boats, and quite enjoys it. He is well respected among fishermen that know him. He met "The Boys" when he was 10 years old, when they all stumbled upon a big beaver dam in the summer. The boys, Jack, Clyde, "Spud", and Chester, were the best of friends to Austin. They fished and blew stuff up, and they even made explosive potato cannons. Nowadays, they all have full-time jobs or have gone to college, and Austin has been looking for some new buddies to do redneck stuff with. Bullies mostly don't mess with him, saying, "It really doesn't sound smart to mess with the redneck kid." He doesn't yet know about his power, but he may just find out soon...

To make things easier for everyone so we're all not like "wait, who's this character/nation again?", I'm going to try to compile a list of apps that the OP accepted and ones still pending. There were some that didn't outright say "accepted" so I tried to make the best sense of it. The names of the character brings you to the link of the app, and the nation name is right next to it.

Accepted:

Ascot Rider: Dragos Bee
Jack Brekker: Lessoni
Allison Clark: Nachfolgia
Izumi Rumiko: The Frozen Forest
Henry Caldwell: Argonopolis
Malcom Jule: Oppermenia (OP did say "looks generally fine so I assumed it was accepted)
Bridget Reeves: Miekzhemy
Kristen Lane: Talchyon
Harper Holiday: Kylantha
Marshall Rowes: Theocretes
Rei Fujiwara: Nea Videssos
Atalia Bayer: Dyelli Beybi

Pending/(seemingly) ambiguous status:

Connor Vale: Theyra (different from Oppermenia's character imo due to more questions asked and power change requests)
Cecily Shauna Nevverling-Wijgaants: Khasinkonia (technically accepted but powers are still being questioned)
Austin Marrow: Mercatus (overpowered)
Nikolai Sapohznik: Europa Undivided
Empire of Tau's concept (no app)
Mukami Jemiriyah: Asardia
Guuj Xaat Kil concept (no app but addressed by OP)

I'm hoping that's everything

Thanks Asardia, I'll put that on the front page with a few modifications as some of the ambiguous ones have been talked out and accepted in discord. Once we are up and running, I will look at getting a Prefeton section set up for the Andromeda character wiki.

I did remember seeing the army power being discussed in the Discord but I was unsure how it ended. I just wanted to make sure a list was created first and foremost, so I apologise for this, although the changes should be minor.

I've been kicking about the idea to join this. I just might. At the moment, I'm brainstorming over the Discord, but I'm sure something will stick.

I would like to take the pleasure and privilege in being the first to address one application. I am, of course, not an OP, Co-OP, or anyone with authority on the matter, so this should be taken as such.

  1. Please delete all parenthesis in the application.
  2. His appearance is incredibly lackluster.
  3. The Skills vs Weaknesses is incredibly sided towards Skills. Being able to perform several illegal actions and having the Weaknesses be 'he can't dance and gets into trouble' is...yeah. Also getting into trouble would, under usual circumstances, bring undue attention towards oneself.
  4. Formatting for Powers can be improved significantly through the use of -list- coding or simply giving spacing between powers. Also please clarify the points dedicated to each power.
  5. Phase One, Two, and Three Powers are all overpowered for what they should be. At Phase One, powers should be such that they would be noticed and impressive, but not breaking the laws of physics in an overt way or going into the territory of superhero immediately. At Phase One this is already not working. Being completely immune to pain and small caliber bullets is a pretty superhero-y thing to do. Overall they are overpowered in an amazing way. To my understanding, even at Phase Three a Superhero like this (One who specializes in hard immunities to damage) would not be able to survive sustained rifle caliber rounds. At Phase Three you have him being able to survive everything up to, essentially, a heavy-as-hell aerial strike. I will not go over this further due to the extreme nature of the powers.
  6. His personality is lackluster and small and could be expanded upon with views on the law, rules made by both himself and others up to and including the law, family, the reasons as to why he breaks the law on what seems to be a routine basis, etc.
  7. Prefeton, being an island, is likely to not be so kind as to random explosions as you portray. The biography seems to indicate this being a common occurrence. That would probably not be tolerated in any sustained sense, especially in setting trees on fire (As a highly forested island with a smaller fire department, I am amazed the kid wasn't arrested for arson).
  8. It is unclear as to why the fisherman and hunters liked him, as such explosions would likely drive animals away.
  9. What is the group size of "The Boys".
  10. "'Bullies mostly leave Austin alone, fearing he might unleash one of his homemade napalm jars if they get him mad." To my knowledge, that's pretty damn illegal and would lead to multiple councilors' office visits, psychiatric analysises, and a school shooter fear. If I was in High School and we thought someone made homemade napalm and was as ill-tempered as this character is at times, the reporting would be so fast I'd give myself whiplash.
  11. "He lives on 10 acres near the Southeastern end of the island of Prefeton, and grew up tending to pine trees, and actually looks forward to a hard day's work. " I'm unsure of the island size but I'm pretty sure that, since it's both in the East Coast region and is an island, absolutely no-one owns 10 acres and especially not the village hillbilly. The entire previous portion of the application portrays him as a no-good kid who blows stuff up and makes moonshine, your stereotypical Huckleberry Finn. In the last sentence, he's now a hard worker. Please clarify.

I highly encourage you to join the Discord as to rectify all problems.
