Work in Progress....
Wouldn’t It Be Lava-Ly?
Welcome to Romantic Survivor, a game show where a group of romantically inclined contestants are transported to a lovely tropical volcanic island and the last two contestants to avoid a lava-ly death get a lifetime free timeshare of a staffed mansion on beautiful Seppuku Isle.
How does our game work, you may ask? Every week (in game life, not necessarily IRL), the contestants will perform whatever ridiculous tasks our tickle our producers’ fancy. The two top scorers will be safe from being voted into becoming part of the island while the other contestants will try to convince their fellows that one or more of the other contestants would be a more acceptable sacrifice.
While this RP is storytelling, I am including character personal statistics so that the characters can explore their strengths and weaknesses, as well as compare themselves against the other characters.
My starting thoughts are that the players have thirty points to distribute to their characters between the following attributes, with at least one point in each attribute and no more than ten points in any attribute:
Physical Beauty-Health
Powers of Observation
Improvisation Skills
Offensive Social Skills
Defensive Social Skills
Luck
What do you think of the skill list? Should there be a way to boost the skills?
What about hindrances? Maybe ONE hindrance that gives ONE extra point to assign to skills, like 'becomes paralyzed for five seconds at the sight of a totally naked person' ? I don't know, but a hindrance can provide literary flavor.
What about extraterrestrial/supernatural powers? Really?!?!? If your character had anything like superpowers, they would be conquering the world or saving the world from conquest. That said, in the name of storytelling your character might have some minor power like always knowing the correct way to plug in a USB cord correctly the very first time, going into a trance and completing a complicated crossword puzzle in five minutes or impressively playing pop songs on the spoons. Animal/Extraterrestrial features could work, but they shouldn't provide the character any advantage over the 'normal human' characters.
Multiple characters per player, YES! How many? Not sure. The players ought to have some throw-aways, along with their favorites....

HELP!!!
I could use some help building the Island/Game-Show. It obviously has a volcano. What else? Should there be a map? A Host and an Assistant? A film crew that's not allowed to help the contestants in any way, despite whatever danger?
