Poland, I don't see anything wrong with your Elise, though I do believe that passive abilities do not trigger familiar transformation. Though, and I'm not sure Reg is definitely gonna enforce this if I'm right about it, but I do believe that hereditary powers are passed down along the generations. Though I might be wrong about that and Reg might not care even if I am.

For Johanna if you could specify some of the details of healing that would be fantastic. Healing in SW is common, but also has many different ways in which it manifests itself.

Edited Johannas healing ability.

As far as Elise goes, I’m not actually sure magic talents are hereditary given no siblings shown in the series seem to share talents, even Erica and her identical twin Ursala. As for always having some of her familiar showing, yes her talents passive like Sakamoto or Minna’s. But while theirs are minor annoyances at worst, Elise’s is an extremely powerful one that will cook her brain if she’s not careful. Elise used her familiar as a sort of control to bleed of some of the excess magic.

Johanna is accepted.

As for Elise, you are correct and the sibling thing was something I forgot about. Though at the same time we do see that all of Miyafuji's family have a healing ability and Hikari and Takami both have variations on the magic eye. But anyway as far as the passiveness goes I was actually thinking more along the lines of Eila's fortune telling. Also Reg we both feel that Elise's power is fairly balanced even without the mind frying drawback. So unless you want to have that aspect of it, which I completely understand if you do, you don't need to.

Full Name: Elise Hartmann

Job: Air Combat Witch

Gender: Female

Date of Birth: January 28th, 2008

Rank: Leutnant

Callsign: Easel

Allegiance: Karlsland

Nationality: Karlsland

Personality: Elise is known perfectionist due to her magic, often spending hours looking over her striker and weapon to make sure everythings in order and is known for being a rules stickler. When she's not in the hanger one can often find her drawing or painting, diving into the arts as an escape from the nearly unbearable pressure of living up to both the Luftwaffe's expectations and her family legacy. She's shy an very reserved, rarely leaving her sisters side. In combat Elise has been described as "robotic", operating in a calm trance that sits at odds with the wild maneuvers of her flying.

Background: Elise could be argued to have both the best and worst luck in the world. Great granddaughter of the legendary Karlsland ace whose family had a long distinguished military career (both of Elise's parents being high ranking Luftwaffe officers), it came to no surprise when her magical talent revealed itself at the age of ten. After a brief medical scare relating to her new powers, Elise was sent to the training academy at Bayern.

At the academy Elise had difficulties harnessing her magic at first, initially overwhelmed by the amount of information it granted her even with her high IQ. But after learning to channel and filter the information, she quickly became one of the academies rising stars. Despite objections by her parents, she was graduated early and attached to the 51st Immelmann squadron operating against Neroi in the Pacific. However, after the disaster in Hispania had further tarnished a Luftwaffe image already ruined by flying in support of Venezia during the Balkan war, the decision was made to tranfer her over to the newly formed 511 JSF wing in hopes that she would make a name for herself and put the Luftwaffe back on the map as a premier air force.

Striker Unit: Tornado IDS

Hereditary Power: Artists Eye. Elise see's the world through a heads up display with readings ranging from distance and airspeed to color shades and sound decibels. Unfortunately this power comes with quite a few drawbacks, most notable that Elise can't turn it off and has to actively think about what she's seeing or the shear amount of information will overwhelm her brain and cause severe medical issues.

Preferred Striker-borne Weaponry: AIM-132 ASRAAM, Paveway series of bombs, BL755 Cluster munitions

Preferred handheld Weaponry: AS50 sniper rifle, FN Five-seven pistol

Appearance: 154 centimeters in height with grey eyes and long blond hair tied back in a ponytail with the tip jet black. wears black tights and a low thigh length skirt with a two sizes too large flight jacket to cover up the bit of her tail that's always showing.

RP Sample: https://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=288782

Full Name: Johanna Hartmann

Job: Striker maintenance

Gender: Female

Date of Birth: June 1st, 2001

Rank: Hauptfeldwebel (staff sergeant)

Callsign: Badger

Allegiance: Karlsland-marginally

Nationality: Karlsland

Personality: Johanna is a relatively easy going individual. She is however very protective of her little sister Elise, and prioritizes her loyalty to her family over that of her nation. Has had a history of disiplinary issues since transferring to Striker Technician, most notably fights with other Karlsland witches.

Background: A highly talented witch in her own right pegged for a future command slot, everything changed after her little sister Elise gained her magical ability. After taking a six month leave of absence to help take care of her sister while she recovered, Johanna resigned her commission and transferred to Striker Maintenance as a sergeant. After finishing her training, Johanna was assigned to her sister as her personal crew chief.

Rumors abound over why she had forfeited her career, but the truth was that it a personal request of her parents. They told her that Elise needed someone to look out for her that wasn't worried about politics or national pride, and after helping Elise recover from the discovery of her powers Johanna had all but jumped at the responsibility. She's been Elise's personal minder ever since, following her first to the Pacific and then to Hispania.

Hereditary Power: Healing

Preferred handheld Weaponry: H&K MP7, Glock 23

Appearance: Slightly taller than Elise with short jet black hair and grey eyes. Wears jeans and a T-shirt under a military field jacket normally.

RP Sample: same as above

I'll leave her at Ensign for now. Would be more fun to get her promoted later in the RP. :)

Just want to ask a simple question, is there such thing as Spec-op witches in this thread-verse?

I do planned one of my witches app to be in Special Forces. Their experiences is mainly crime-fighting and counter-terrorisms.

Hmmmm, I have an interesting idea. A Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit Striker Unit. Main issue I see is that the witch would be making most of her missions solo since the idea of a stealth bomber is to be neither detectable nor anywhere near the actual combat and mostly making strategic strikes against ground positions (and motherships). That being said I could see her being used to clear out AA defenses before the regular ACWs come in and mop up the enemy air power.

Do note it has been years since I watched Strike Witches.

hey Nachfolgia, how do you feel about Elise and Friederike knowing about having meet each other during their time at the academy. Obviously they wouldn't both be from the same class but given Elise's early start she should only be a year or two behind Friederike.

Yeah, as someone who has ran a very long running Strike Witches RP before, I'm going to go with absolutely not. No bomber Witches.

eh Gravity bombs are garbage for SEAD work though, and a B-2 Witch wouldn't have any way to detect or track radar and SAM sites without someone acting as bait. If you want to do SEAD work, your character would be better off with a Tornado ECR variant, EA-6B Prowler, or F-18G Growler.

I'm with Rup on this. Not to mention there wouldn't really be any advantage to a bomber witch as Poland has generously pointed out.

Also, I just realized. Fin, the Su-34 is not an EW craft, nor is the 10th Guards an EW squadron.

I am aware of both and I thought I amended my app appropriately. If I didn't I'll be sure to do so first thing tomorrow.

Most likely depending on country, but they definitely wouldn't be large in number.

...Also, since Sent hasn't posted in 12 days, I'm starting to get worried. If they don't have anything by Sunday, I may have to talk to them.

Possibly. We do still have a number of active conversations though. Your characters do not need to stick around at the airfield though. You could head to Hanger 8 or just go exploring.

Full Name: Rin Sato

Job: ACW

Gender: Female

Date of Birth: April 1, 2007

Rank: Rikugun Shōii Kōhosei

Callsign: Kaizen "always improving"/"continuous improvement"

Allegiance: Fusoan

Nationality: Fuso-jin

Personality: Rin's natural state is caring for her fellow peers, useful for supportive roles. She has a tendency of being impressively enthusiastic as well as upbeat. At times, she may be a little carefree, which could be an issue if she is too carefree. A few good traits of hers, are her passion and stubborness. She can become very motivated if given any small amount of reason as to why she should be, and once motivated, her stubborness is inhumane.

Background: Hakone (Kanto region of Honshu) is the home town of Rin. Up on the higher parts of the mountain, she lived a nice life with her mother, father, and older sister. The family of Sato was well known back home for being helpful in the community. Rin being the youngest, was always a help since she was little. She would always help anyone who needed it. Happy, she'd always skip around town. Her natural instinct to help others is what makes her so happy, all she wants is to see others happy. What really made her stand out from before is her power. Her ability to heal. On a rainy night, her sister was running late to come home. Rin worried sick, left the house in search for her sister. Calling out to her, it took an hour to find her. She was battered and bruised at the bottom of a cliff. Rin ran to her as fast as possible. She didn't know what to do, so her emotions got the better of her. She burst out crying without paying attention to what was happening to her sister. The wounds on her sister began healing. The feeling of pain would slowly begin to take over her body. The amount of pain was too intense for her to handle at her age, so she passed out. When she woke up her sister told her she carried her back home after waking up. It's been a day her sister told her. Rin didn't care, just happy to have her sister home. Since then, her power was used to heal as much people as she could. Some were concerned that she was bringing herself too much pain, mainly her parents. But to her it didn't matter, she just wanted to use it for a good cause to help as many people as she can. During school one day, her friend gave her the idea to enlist for the 511th. Hearing a new 500th division was being made, was the only thing she was hearing about that day. Rin being very secluded about outside world information, she had no clue what they were talking about. When her friend told her about the tales of the 502nd and 504th, Rin couldn't believe it. They sounded so cool, but to her, it also sounded like a way to help even more people. Unfortunately she didn't know how to even get in. She wanted to join, but not knowing how to she gave up. She still was happy with her life, helping as many people as she could, not knowing at all what the future had held for her.

Striker Unit: F-14D

Hereditary Power: Sympathetic Incapacitation: Rin is able to heal the injuries of other Witches, with a catch. Every injury she heals, she feels the pain of. Ripped off arm? Healed, but Rin feels like she just got her arm lobbed off, even though it's still there.

Preferred Striker-borne Weaponry: AAM-3,AAM-4, Paveway IV Bomb

Preferred handheld Weaponry: Dual Minebea 9mm Machine Pistol, Standard Issue Howa Type 89, Wakazashi
