DATHIRI
A LEGACY OF CHAINSThe human-dominant Kel Empire has suffered its first major defeat. The massive galaxy-spanning empire that has long seemed unassailable now has a great blemish to its name, as external forces move in, threatening to dismantle the state piece by painful piece. Marshal Jnac Etosi has called for a major military offensive against this as yet unknown threat, and military fixtures throughout the galaxy now stand with skeleton crews in place.
The planet of Dathiri lies within Kel space. Unlike most worlds of the Empire, it had no permanent population before the Empire arrived and terraformed it. Now it is an Empire-sanctioned mining world, due to the resource of eshan, a heat-resistant material that is a crucial part in modern starship construction. However, the mining of eshan is an unpleasant process.
To solve the issue, the Kel Empire places prisoners to work essentially as slaves within the eshan mines of Dathiri. From all species of the massive Empire, there are people working on Dathiri due to convictions of murder, theft, smuggling, yet also others there due to political dissent, resistance to Kel rule, even some there just based on the whims of planetary governors.
Now, that once-unassailable Empire has seemingly abandoned Dathiri, leaving a skeleton crew, merely a hundred guards across the entire planet and a handful of administrators. Even before the Empire left in their droves, there had been talk of rebellion among the prisoners. Those left on the prison planet are beginning to realise the tension will break at any moment, and that the prisoners will revolt, which are making even those loyal to the Empire question if wearing their uniforms is worth the risk. Many have decided that when it does happen, they will pretend to be prisoners. Others are already starting to desert, and flee into the wilderness.
Since there are questions as to whether the Empire will even return, the main question now is what comes next. Species from all across the massive Empire all in one place, with many of them violent criminals, and yet with some idealists who wish to leave the galaxy a better place than they found it. Dathiri could become a utopia, or it could devolve into a bloodbath.
Welcome to Dathiri! You are just one of the many people who calls this planet home. Perhaps you are one of the many criminals sent here to mine eshan due to an Imperial life sentence, or perhaps you are a guard or administrator, running the place but noticing that your grip on power is starting to slide. Whoever you are, your actions will directly impact the future of Dathiri, for if the Empire does not return, and Dathiri becomes the catalyst for a civilisation of many species and cultures, the future truly is yours to control.

APPLICATION (Please remove brackets)
- Be considerate. For example, I'm not saying "no killing", but don't kill another player without asking them and them saying 'yes'.
- Dathiri is by now completely cut off from the rest of the galaxy, save for sparse interplanetary communications. No taking the adventure off of Dathiri.
- Be reasonable. Respect others in the RP, and all the normal "no godmodding" stuff.
- Know your limits. Only RP as many characters as you can. You can have more than one if you want.
- I will not accept too many Imperial-aligned guards or administrators. After we have a few, I will need a very good reason to accept such an app. Also to note - if you do play as a guard or administrator, unless you try to pass off as a former prisoner or run out into the wilderness, you will be captured, possibly within the first page of RP.
- Humans are under-represented in the populations. Just a heads up.

Biography: Born on the planet of Uddvasi, Achak Tarasi, like up to three generations before him, had spent his whole life under Kel Imperial rule. The human governorship of his planet brought a degree of peace to the once squabbling Yursani monarchies, but they put in its place a violent system of repressing dissent. During his childhood, his father was arrested and tortured for vandalising an imperial vehicle. Achak learnt from a young age, therefore, to hate the Empire, unlike many of his siblings who learnt to keep low and remain silent. His father returned without his right hand. Achak soon found himself in trouble with the law, between dealing drugs, stealing government vehicles, protesting Imperial policies, and later on, inciting violence against the Kel authorities. Achak was sent to Dathiri on these charges at age 21, a life sentence. When he arrived, he was just as rebellious, inciting violence numerous times and being placed into solitary confinement. Eventually, he was dragged into the plot to rebel against the prison guards and administrators. For nearly a year, he has been ensuring that the plan will run smoothly, and with as many Imperial deaths as possible.
Reason for being on Dathiri: Dealing in narcotics, vehicle theft, political dissent, incitement of violence.
Education and Skills: Incitement of violence, hotwiring vehicles, is slightly stronger than average.
