Maybe straddling is a more accurate term. Perhaps a Jedi trainee practicing the dark side in secret goes grey for a while before falling completely to the dark side. Or perhaps not and becomes a lone wolf like Ahsoka in Rebels. It's just an idea I'm playing with.

Personality: Calm and collected, but damaged and prone to night terrors and dark visions. Perhaps he is not as calm and collected as he seems, but is rather incapable of feeling or expressing certain emotions. It is difficult to tell. Thrace, as he prefers to be known, is a spiritualist and bookworm, preferring quiet study in solitude to being with the others. Often a voice of calm reason, he can be more calculating than one would expect and believes that ends can often justify means if the need is dire enough. He has a strong mind, a trait that may have saved him in his past, and will serve him in the future, with a little luck.

Likes: Books, scrolls, data files, and texts, all will find a place in the heart and mind of this studious lore master. Thrace enjoys long hours of study and quiet meditation. He has an affinity for the living Force, more so than average Jedi, but he is still a long way from a Jedi master. The Force is fluid and so alive, though he has often known sorrow and death. To him, no knowledge is forbidden.

Dislikes: The Imperial Remnant and everything that they stand for. Thrace has personal reasons for this, thankfully vengeance is not the Jedi way....right?

Goals: Put Simply, knowledge. The young Jedi seeks this above almost all else. Knowledge and ideals are what the world is built on, and Thrace has a desire to learn as much as he can about lore, the Galaxy at large, and perhaps most importantly, himself.

Fears: Thrace was, for lack of a better term, a living lab rat. As such he has night terrors and frequent dark visions. His greatest fears are falling completely to the dark side and seeing the apparitions of his worst nightmares come to reality. The return of the Empire and the fall of the New Order, along with everyone that he cares about figure large in the dark corners of his mind. He has a particular phobia, practically hatred, of needles and medical droids.

Background: For some, the past is shrouded in in mystery. Thrace is one of that some. He knows almost nothing of his pat before the Lab. After the fall of the Empire, it became known that Darth Sidious kidnapped force sensitive children for human experimentation for training as Dark Side adapts. Most ended up as nothing more than husks, shells of whatever they had been as Sidious used them to continue the work of his former master in unlocking the secrets of the Force and immortality.

Thrace had somehow been undiscovered until a little later in life, rather than as a toddler, and spent five years within a secret Imperial lab before being liberated when New Republic forces began to uncover Palpitine's dark secrets and buried treasures. Still, he was submitted to cruel tests of every possible measure. He remembers little but needles, cold, hard surfaces, and pain, terrible pain. Had it gone on much longer, he likely would have been completely lost.

He was sent to Yavin in hopes that Jedi training could help heal his broken spirit and mind. Upon realization that he remembered nothing before the lab, he settled on a name for himself.

Skills: An adept duelist, Thrace still enjoys the use of Force abilities. Being the subject of many Dark Side experiments, he has a knack for sensing that side of the force.

Weaknesses: Fear, hate, and attachment are things the Jedi of told warned of old, and Thrace has all of them in spades. Fear and hate of the past, and quite attached to his new life.

Bren Sezala was born on the Bothan colony world of Kothlis in the Mid Rim to a wealthy family with the controlling share of the Compart Corporation, a Bothan company that mass produced droid circuitry and components. His family had been active in covertly supplying and funding the Rebel Alliance from its infancy, providing directly and indirectly a sizable portion of the ships in the Bothan Sector Force.

He was more or less raised to treat the Empire as a constant foe, being raised on stories of its corruption and brutality. A number of his cousins and friends would run off an job the rebellion while he was stuck learning the family business alongside his 3 siblings but constantly busied himself learning how to fight and hack droids, preparing for the day he would be able to fight alongside his friends and family.

Kyle Katarn discovered Sezala less than a year before the start of the RP. He had heard the Sezala family had a history of Force Sensitives and checked in to see if any of the current members had a strong connection to the force. Bren did have the connection but it was minimal, and he found himself unable to use many force techniques such as telekinesis. Despite early frustrations he found that he could still tap into more passive force techniques such as immediate precognition and allowing the force to guide his movements or enhance his body. Coupling this with his combat training he has been able to become an incredible adapt swordsman, taking an ancient lightsaber of his ancestor known as the Green Destiny and dedicating himself to using his limited force abilities in concert with his lightsaber technique.

Skills: Excellent Swordsman with particular aptitude for defensive stances and form 3, family money and connections, his family history with droids gives him experience and insight into hacking droids
Weaknesses: No force abilities that effect anything other than his own body, frail body
