Name: Mir Mina

Species: Umbaran

Appearance: Face only. As for the rest of the body, he has the build of a typical Umbaran; Mir is fairly tall, standing at roughly 1.9 meters (a little over 6 feet) tall, and fairly muscular thanks to his years of service in the Umbaran militia. Mir has scars all over his body from his time in service, notably a long, horizontal slice just below his eye from an assassination attempt on his life.

Lightsaber: Blue blade, single wield (borrowed from the Order)
Equipment: Umbaran blaster rifle, combat knife

Personality: Mir is fairly amiable and open to conversation. He enjoys reading and studying people's behavior and attitudes and can have manipulative tendencies at times, a remnant of his life and childhood training in Umbara's ruthless caste system. Nevertheless, Mir actively restrains himself from acting in this manner, seeking to put his old life behind him and find peace in the teachings of the Jedi. He has a fairly dark sense of humor, which can come across as offensive at times to others. Mir has major trust issues, and often finds it difficult to put major faith into other people, fearing they may betray him in the end.
Likes: Stability, reading and studying (whether entertainment or for academic purposes), exploration, hard work, exercising and combat training
Dislikes: Chaos, failure, laziness, ignorance
Goals: Advance in rank in the New Jedi Order, become skilled at lightsaber combat, achieve inner peace with the Force
Fears: Failing his objective, betrayal, being perceived as lazy or slothful, returning to his old life on Umbara

Background: Mir Mina was born in 8 BBY on the planet Umbara, located in the Ghost Nebula of the Expansion Region. Mir was born into a rigid, isolated, and ruthless society built on a caste system consisting of nearly a hundred levels; those in the top ten levels were the only Umbarans allowed to leave the homeworld and were practically considered nobility, and the top level (the Rootai) were the rulers of Umbara, and considered royalty. The ambition of every Umbaran was to ascend up through the caste system and gain more power through any means necessary; as such, Umbara was a society filled with high levels of blackmail, subterfuge, and outright assassinations, with the various Umbaran families and castes possessing a deep-seeded distrust of each other and their motives. Failure was unacceptable, potentially risking imprisonment or a death sentence for the perpetrator, and their entire family being dropped down a level in the caste; as such, plots had to be meticulously planned out, with little room for error or slothfulness.

Mir was raised on these traditional Umbaran ideals well into adulthood. On top of this, the Umbarans now had to please their new overlords in the Galactic Empire. Mir's father had fought in the Clone Wars, defending his planet's homeworld from the invasion of clone troopers during the Battle of Umbara. When the Republic turned to the Empire, the Imperial government had not forgotten the treachery of the Umbarans and their defection to the Confederacy of Independent Systems, resulting in the Umbarans doing everything possible to prove their loyalty to their Imperial masters. Umbarans were heavily used as spies and thought police during the Great Jedi Purge, taking advantage of their natural abilities to weed out rogue Jedi; they would later help root out rebel sympathizers during the Galactic Civil War. Mir's father managed to find a new career doing just that, allowing his family to be upgraded to level ten and gain the ability to travel offworld, allowing the young Mir to experience alien worlds for the first time.

In 4 ABY, the Empire was defeated at the Battle of Endor; fearing retribution from the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant, many Umbarans fled back to their homeworld and once again went into isolation. With career prospects in the Empire out of the question, Mir enlisted in the Umbaran militia at age 18, undergoing training to become an assassin on top of his basic training as a soldier, and began planning to increase his own social standing and the standing of his family by moving to level nine. He plotted a successful assassination of a major Umbaran noble, resulting in just that and a major prestige boost for his entire family. However, rival assassins attempted to take him out in retaliation; Mir survived the attack, resulting in the nasty scar on his face. In 16 ABY, Mir suffered a major nervous breakdown, the toll of his lifestyle finally getting to him, resulting in him deserting the Umbaran militia and taking a starship off of the planet, never to return. He wandered the galaxy for years, doing a number of odd jobs in the Outer Rim and Mid Rim to get by, before ultimately ending up on the New Republic world of Ord Mantell. It was here where his innate Force abilities were discovered by the Rodian Jedi Master Kolgell Traggeezex, who talked Mir into coming back with him to Yavin IV to train as a Jedi. It was a major revalation to Mir, who had felt something was different or odd about himself his entire life, and he now hopes to find inner peace with the Force.

Skills: Combat training with blaster weaponry and melee weaponry, as well as advanced training as an assassin. Additionally, Mir has the innate advantages of an Umbaran, such as the ability to see in ultraviolet, and the ability to read and influence others, even to the point of controlling their will (though Mir largely restrains these abilities).
Weaknesses: Mir has never used a lightsaber before. He has felt the power and influence of the Force in the past, but does not have the training to harness it.

Ohh, tbh I didn't know that, I was hoping to just infer Khaza was doing the handshake most people hate. The "early grip" where a person catches someone's hand before a proper grip.

I'm operating off the notion that her home planet was like.. Full on imperial gestapo mode and that she hadn't left it. So she's not very up to date with species and events as a normal individual would be.

The fact she perceives through forcesight also makes it difficult to differentiate human and human sub species, so she relies on being told or simply identifying folks by their aura and outline features.

If the opportunity presents itself to go through Inera's story more, that'll explain a lot, but the long and short of it was that she appears to be the result of a crazed imperial geneticist attempting to perfect his species genome, which includes five fingers.

I'm gonna assume that we're going with the different crystal colors, as these aren't our blades quite yet (loaners, we'll be making our own blade later as far as I understand).
