CALM BEFORE THE STORM

THE SETTING: WAR'S END
It is 1000 YEARS BEFORE THE BATTLE OF YAVIN. The NEW SITH EMPIRE has been defeated and the RUUSAN REFORMATION has come to pass- as the republic demilitarizes and the Galaxy begins to rebuild after a war that cost 2/3rds of the known galaxy's population many do not yet know- but this is the start of a golden age in the REPUBLIC. The ARMY OF LIGHT is to be disbanded, the JEDI are to become keepers of the peace and guardians of Justice- the emergence of the JEDI COUNCIL is at hand as the REPUBLIC reforms and the people rebuild.

For those whom the wars became a focus of life the future is- one of decision. Where do you go now? When life has been so focused on war for 1000 YEARS finding a place in this era of peace poses a challenge to some- and an opportunity for others.

PLAYER CHARACTERS
Players can take on the role of a character from anywhere in the galaxy (even ones from this era they have not designed) though they should be mindful of the galaxy's situation when designing characters and also of characters not of their design they are portraying.

There are however some rules;
 • Only sentient species for player characters, pets and owned droids are an exception that should be included in the character sheet of your character.
 • Meta-Gaming is discouraged, though certain force users may if narratively viable for the situation be allowed moments of liberty regarding such.
 • Due to the Rule of Two players are unfortunately unable to play a Sith though other darksiders are permitted.

The Character Sheet is not only my reference as the RP's operator for the purpose of generating a plot and interacting with the character but also designed to encourage character growth, development, and dimensionalism. It's just as important for you to keep it updated as it is for me to reference it. It is after all what other players will look upon to consider interaction as well.

Note: Remove text in "( )" and note that the questions under the 'HISTORY' section are more suggestion then required information. You don't have to state it all just yet and will likely update the history as you develop the character during the RP.
Code: Select all
NAME: (character's name here)
SPECIES: (Is the character Human or not Human and if not Human what are they?)
APPEARANCE: (an image or a description)
HISTORY: (Where was your character born, what was the social and economic environment like growing up?  Who were your character's parents, how is the character's relationship with their parents or how was the relationship? Is the character still there or have they left and if so why did they leave and in leaving what did they leave behind? Why did they leave it behind? What do they wont? Do they have some grand objective- to be the captain of their own freighter or to return to claim a lost title of nobility when the time is ripe. Not every character has an objective- nor will the objective remain the same. Life has ways of causing one to change their plans.)
EQUIPMENT: (saber, comlink, etc)
MANNERISM:
(Mannerisms are habits or practices such as for example people on Earth saying 'Bless you' after someone sneezes. It's things the character does without thinking that are usually very minor but add to the character- at times mannerisms can tell a story of their own. Perhaps the character has a tattoo on the back of their hand that they rub when nervous....)
WORLD VIEW:
(World View is how a character views themselves and others in the world- it's anything ranging from 'group x is terrible and group y is great' to 'the exchange of ideas is crucial in universal understanding and the advancement of society'. World View can be summed up though as how the character sees those around them in relation to themselves. Researching such will also benefit you the player in understanding what role you have taken upon yourself to portray)
PAIN POINTS:
(Pain Points are activities the character refuses to engage in or finds the greatest difficulty engaging in. It's the sights that the character will attempt to avoid or the topics that they don't want to discuss)

list
DESIRES:
(Desires are the opposite of Pain Points- they are the activities your character seeks out and the reactions they relish. It's as mild as seeking the compliment of a crush or as extravagant as wanting to be surrounded with actual physical books. It's not the same as goals in that it's not a specific objective but rather environments or behavior they seek out.)

list
FEARS & PHOBIAS:
('Fear leads to hate, hate leads to suffering' - there are always fears. Some as mild as 'the fear of rejection' and others more rooted into one's psyche enough to be considered a mental illness- such as Agoraphobia. As the OP of this RP I assure you that I won't 'spam' your character's fears- I'm interested in plot not torture)

list
Character Modules
These are additions to one's character sheet designed for use by those who need them.
Droid
Code: Select all
Droid Name: (Usually a product number like C-3PO but also includes 'pet names' like Red, 3PO, Clipper, or Skippy)
Appearance: (What distinguishes this droid from others of the same model in appearance)
Droid Model:
Memory Banks: (What the unit remembers of it's existence, due to memory wipes and other factors this might not be the unit's full history but what it recalls and bases it's relationship status to be)
Utilities: (the tools with which it carries out it's function)

Force Powers
Code: Select all
FORCE POWERS: (If your character is Force sensitive, what Force powers are they most skilled in, and how skilled are they? E.g. Have they mastered Force healing or Force lightning, while only receiving limited training in abilities such as Force speed or Force push? Note: Do please be reasonable here and keep your character's level of training in mind while listing abilities; no one should be a master of everything.)

LIST OF FORCE POWERS

Ship
Code: Select all
Ship Name: (Name of ship)
Ship Model: (Model of Ship)
Amenities:
Armaments:
Additional Features:
Notes: (information not covered in the above sections)

LIST OF PLAYER CHARACTERS

PLAYER RESOURCES
The following is meant to assist the player in presenting the universe before them and interacting with it. You can help our community by contributing to these resources. If you'd like to submit a fan design the link will go to a post detailing your contribution for other players to reference. The technology is presented as 'LATE OLD REPUBLIC' and 'EARLY RISE OF THE EMPIRE' Era- a combination of both periods with a focus on what was new in the Old Republic era and Old in the Rise of the Empire (Prequels). A few ancient designs are also included to represent the 'used' or 'inherited' items of the galaxy.

***NOT COMPLETE AT THIS TIME, AND FEEL FREE TO ASK ABOUT OTHER OPTIONS***

Droids

Ships

PLANETS
 • Alderaan - One of the founding worlds of the Republic, this world dedicated to pacifism, art, and education was not directly involved in the New Sith Wars which lasted 1000 years.
 • Corellia - Capital of the Corellian Empire, a member of the Galactic Republic. The Corellian Empire while an absolute monarchy is also one with a history of free traders. While most work for one of the Royal companies such as the Corellian Mining Corporation or Corellian Engineering those who do manage to become master of their own ship are celebrated. Corellians have a history of passing ownership of ships from one generation to the next with this giving them something of a 'space gypsy' reputation. Especially as families encountered off world are typically living and work from a ship they inherited and most often involved in some illicit trade. Corellia is home to the 'Green Jedi' or 'Corellian Jedi who where instrumental in preventing any territorial lose by the Corellian Empire during the New Sith Wars. They took part in the Ruusan Campaign but rather then be herald as heroes have been declared a heretical sect by the Jedi Council on Coruasant. They have withdrawn to continue their own traditions regarding the force free from the Council. The practice of Lord Jedi continues in the Corellian Empire.
 • Coruscant - With the reformation of the Republic after 1000 years of almost direct Jedi rule, though the military and centralization of power upon the chancellor, a thousand years of war this city planet is again becoming the political capital of known space.
 • Duro - Duro continues to suffer misery along with it's colony worlds as it has ever since the Mandalorian Wars. The colony world of Harponi was wiped out 3 years ago during the New Sith Wars. Duro has been part of the Corellian Empire for over 2000 years.
 • Hok - a newly established Gran colony cut off from the homeworld of Kinyen.
 • Kamino - Due to it's enigmatic location Kamino, a non-Republic world, was not effected by the wars that followed the Jedi Civil War; including the most recent conflict- the New Sith Wars. Their Kyber Darts and some clients can be found across the galaxy but they themselves are a rare sight with few Kaminoans being permitted off world. The war which resulted in a lose of 2/3rds of the galactic population has created an opportunity for them as cloners.
 • Kinyen - Homeworld of the Gran, Kinyen has had a division with the colonist on Malastare. Currently Gran born on Kinyen are unable to leave the world and it's socialist demarchy though poverty is non-existent. Still with this isolation has come the independence of Hok and Malastare which does not conform to the government of Kinyen.
 • Manda - Manda was a territory of the New Sith Empire that was liberated during the war.
 • Malastare - The Gran have recently colonized this world populated by the Dug. A series of wars has erupted between the Dug and the Gran; a matter for the recently re-empowered Galactic Senate to handle of which the Gran have representation in.
 • Naboo - The Time of Suffering has started as the planet enters a full blown world war between the princely city states of the Human population. Naboo is not presently a member of the Republic. This war is considered a war of planetary unification and expected to last a century or more.
 • Neimodia - This former Duro colony world turned independent state was utterly spared the horror of the New Sith Wars and used the conflict to gain commercial success. This success coupled with their former colony status in light of Duro's own misfortune and lack of independence has created animosity between the two cultures. Biologically the only distinction between them are the eyes. Both are hatched from eggs, and both go through a larval stage but the Neimodians practice communal upbringing during the Larval stage- with young Neimodians being sorted after maturing from this state while the Duros as individuals raise their young in the larval stage and beyond. Most Neimodians recall their days in the Hive vaguely but with great resentment and fear due to the purposeful neglect practiced by the state- aimed at weeding out the weak. But to stop such a practice would be to abandon an element of their culture that defines them in comparison to the Duros.
 • Soccoro - A colony of the Corellian Empire this world has no representation in the Galactic Senate. While known as a haven for smugglers, and for it's hostile nomadic (though Human) tribal population it's the site of a Jedi Academy. This academy, with a focus on piloting and the force was established by Crix Sunburris, a Jedi Ace from the New Sith Wars who now mentors at the Jedi Temple on Corosaunt.
 • Tatooine - Tatooine was re-discovered by the Republic 100 years ago but like many efforts to civilize it in the past the Republic's efforts are failing. Most of the population are not Human.
 • Trandosha - Trandosha had joined the Republic thousands of years ago, and fought with the Republic against the New Sith before being captured by the Brotherhood of Darkness. With their homes and cities burning the leaders of the Hossik Dominion that governs the planet swore loyalty to the Sith. This was the case until the planet was liberated by the Jedi and the Republic with new leadership installed. Trandosha has no senator of it's own now, instead represented by Kashyyk- over all they have a lot to prove, and a lot to do to rebuild.

Tag, glad to see this back again :) Figured I'd repost my app for Claudius, if that's alright:

NAME: Master Claudius Antilles
SPECIES: Human
APPEARANCE: In normal robes, In his old armor
HISTORY: Born during the Republic Dark Age into Alderaanian nobility in 1041 BBY, Claudius Antilles was taken from his family at a very young age when it was discovered that he was force sensitive. He grew up in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, learning the ways of the force and use of the lightsaber, eventually being chosen to train in the path of the Jedi Guardian. When he came of age, Claudius was sent out on missions against the Sith with his master, a Kel Dor High Council member named Jan Koon. The brutality of the New Sith Wars necessitated that Claudius quickly become experienced in the art of war to survive, and his master helped ensure he learned the necessary lessons by having him assist in leading Republic forces from the frontlines. This helped the pair to become popular with the troops, and when Jan Koon felt that the soldiers trusted his Padawan enough to follow his orders, he allowed Claudius to command troops on his own. This proved to be a wise decision as the young Claudius would show himself to be a talented tactician and strategist, and helped lead his soldiers to many victories over the Sith forces.

After several years of serving in such engagements, it was determined that Claudius had sufficiently faced his Jedi Trials through the forges of war, and he was soon officially made a Jedi Knight. There would be little time to celebrate however, as tragedy struck House Antilles. Claudius' father, Drusus Antilles, the Lord of House Antilles, had been asked to help mediate a dispute on Coruscant by a friend of his in the Galactic Senate. Drusus chose to bring his sons with him to Coruscant in the hopes of teaching them about diplomacy and the Galactic Senate, not knowing that an assassin had planted a bomb on his vessel. The bomb killed everyone aboard, leaving House Antilles with no leader and no heir; no heir that is, except for Claudius.

Fearing the House would fall into chaos with relatives fighting to claim the title of Duke and Lord of House Antilles, Claudius' mother, Antonia, pleaded with the Jedi Council to allow her son to return to Alderaan to claim his birthright and keep the House in order. After much deliberation, the High Council decided that the Galaxy did not need any more chaos, and in the interest of keeping the peace on Alderaan, allowed Claudius to return to Alderaan and take his place as the Lord of House Antilles. This placed Claudius in the rather awkward position of being a Jedi Lord who was still loyal to the High Council, and to remedy that to at least some extent, the Grand Council invited Claudius to join their ranks as their liaison to the High Council (a position which in truth involved little liaising, but which enabled the Grand Council to keep an eye on the peculiar Lord, and which served to bring the Household forces he now commanded into their ever more depleted ranks).

In the hopes of making peace between the two Councils, Claudius accepted the position, and though he made little headway in getting the Jedi groups to work together, he did get to enjoy a brief period of relative peace as the Sith concentrated on attacking themselves, during which time he trained a Padawan to Knighthood, and helped forge a political alliance between his and another Alderaanian noble House by wedding himself to one of the House's noble Ladies after gaining special dispensation to do so from the Order. Not long after their marriage, his family's legacy would soon find itself secure when Claudius' wife, Lady Aemilia, bore him a twin son and daughter. Sadly, Claudius would get to enjoy little time with his new family as the relative peace was shattered in 1010 BBY when Skere Kaan and his newly formed Brotherhood of Darkness began their campaign against the Republic.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Claudius joined the Grand Council in voicing unanimous support for Lord Hoth and the Army of Light, and after saying his goodbyes to his family, Claudius led his Household forces once more to war. Claudius' military experience would prove to be of great use in the coming battles, and he helped to liberate numerous Sith strongholds in the Outer Rim before Kaan's push into the coreworlds forced a confrontation on the planet of Ruusan. Claudius would go on to fight in all seven of the bloody battles on the surface of that world, refusing to retreat despite suffering numerous injuries and losing more than half of his forces, knowing that the fate of the Order and the Republic would hinge on the outcome of the brutal campaign.

In the seventh battle however, he sustained a severe injury after being struck by enemy artillery that left him unconscious and only barely clinging to life. His personal guard dragged his body off the battlefield and back to a waiting medical ship, which immediately departed the war-torn world to get the Jedi Lord back to Alderaan for treatment; jumping to hyperspace mere hours before the Sith thought bomb detonated and killed nearly everything on the planet, finally ending the brutal conflict.

After he recovered from his injuries, it was decided that since Claudius had remained loyal to the High Council during the war, he was to be given the rank of Master for his service to the Republic and for having helped maintained peace and stability on Alderaan; on the condition that he renounce his title of nobility. As House Antilles now had a viable heir and was no longer in a potentially very dangerous political situation, Claudius accepted the terms, leaving his wife to rule in his stead as Regent until his son came of age to claim the title of Duke for his own. In a effort to reconcile with the surviving Jedi Lords, Claudius was appointed to the High Council, and with his influence he convinced many surviving Lords to similarly renounce their titles and rejoin the Order; a move which met with considerable success thanks to the war's end, and one which ultimately saw the disbandment of the Grand Council entirely. With that task largely complete, Claudius has recently volunteered to lead an investigation into the reported disappearance of numerous Sith artifacts. Claudius' initial review of the case with the Republic Office of Criminal Investigations yielded little information, but a few clues did point him in the direction of a space station by the name of "Mek-Sha," where he is currently heading in the hopes of finding a lead...

EQUIPMENT:
Claudius uses a vented lightsaber with a Songsteel hilt, and if away on a mission, will often bring a comlink, datapad, and other such equipment he feels the mission calls for. Additionally, though he usually wears his Jedi robes, he does still possess the armor he once wore during the war (pictured above).
MANNERISM:
Though a humble man, as one would expect from someone raised with the spartan comforts the Order provides, Claudius still carries himself with the dignity and nobility that were required of an Alderaanian Lord.
WORLD VIEW:
Claudius is a devoted adherent to the Light Side of the Force, and firmly believes in the core tenets of the Jedi Code. That said, there are some sub-tenets he is less than fond of, and the breakneck rate at which some new tenets have been adopted is something he finds potentially concerning.
PAIN POINTS:
 • Claudius still struggles to cope with the loss of so many friends and soldiers during the war, and has some survivor's guilt at having survived the Seventh Battle of Ruusaan where nearly all the remaining soldiers under his command were killed by the Sith thought bomb.
 • Though not something he's unwilling to talk about by any means, his family is a somewhat sore topic as his position affords him little time to spend with his loved ones.
DESIRES:
 • Claudius' main driving desire is to secure the Galaxy's newfound peace for the future, in the hopes that a conflict as brutal as the New Sith Wars will never break out again.
FEARS & PHOBIAS:
 • Claudius fears for the safety of the Jedi Order and the Republic; particularly as the military forces and equipment they've so long relied upon are stripped away by the Reformation Act, and of course is always concerned about the well-being of his family.

FORCE POWERS: As a Jedi Guardian, Claudius' Force training primarily revolved around developing abilities to use in combat and to better supplement his saber forms (of which, he can boast a true mastery of the Makashi and reverse-grip Shien forms, while maintaining considerable skill in the two lightsaber variant of Ataru as well). As such, he is highly skilled in abilities such as Force Speed, Force Strength, Telekinesis, Tutaminis, Force Jump, Force Barrier, Ionize, Precognition, etc. though his general skill in most non-combat Force abilities (such as Force Heal, Force Cloak, Beast Control, etc.) is comparatively lacking. Perhaps his most noteworthy ability however is an innate talent for locating and manipulating Shatterpoints; a skill which served him greatly during the war, and which he has worked and meditated extensively to further hone in light of the myriad changes now facing the Order and Galaxy as a whole.

Ship Name: The Peacemaker
Ship Model: Defender-class Light Corvette
Amenities: Conference room with holocomm terminal, Medbay with medical droid, living quarters, and escape pod
Armaments: 2 sets of dual laser cannons, missile launcher
Additional Features: Though an older design, the Defender-class has been retrofitted with the best technology currently available.
Notes: None

This looks interesting. With the Sith presumed to be extinct and all as far as the galaxy knows, I am considering playing as a fallen Jedi trying to establish a new darksider organization to replace the Sith.

It certainly is :) It's great to see you again. I'm happy to have this RP up again and will certainly still need your insight on the Jedi to move this forward :) I'm adding Claudius to the character roaster now.

I'm allowing more wiggle room then last time I had this RP up so this shouldn't be an issue.

Due to a lot of room to work in this era yes. Senate factions, militaristic factions opposed to demilitarization, pirate clans, trade associations, humanitarian (relief) factions... Maybe a government- Galaxy is vast after all. I just need to see and give it approval.

My idea is for a theocratic Empire that sided with the Republic during the war. The Empire sided with the Republic despite both of the nations has been at war multiple times in the past due to the fact that the Sith were invading their territory. However, there was a major revolution near the end of the war and the monarchy was exterminated.

I actually used this idea in a previous RP online before, not for this but for the Mandalorian wars but a few edits should bring it up to date. I can go into more detail if you wish.

I need clarity on this statement *'The Empire sided with the Republic despite both of the nations has been at war multiple times in the past due to the fact that the Sith were invading their territory.'*. Off hand I'm supposing three planets in size.

by Bingellia
NAME: Alekias Severlus
SPECIES: Human
APPEARANCE:
Image

Severlus has a facial scar running diagonally from his right ear to a point an inch from his lip, along with a large burn scar on his left cheek.
HISTORY: Severlus was born on Eriadu to a family of jewelers in 1026 BBY. Having been occupied by the Sith forces for generations, Severlus was exposed to Sith propaganda since the day he was born. Diverging from his family, Severlus decided from a young age that he was going to join the Sith army. Devoting himself to the forces as soon as he was able at the cost of his relationship with his parents, Alekias endured a grueling tenure in a program for officers. His service was non distinct during the civil war among the Sith. This would change with the Battle of Corulag in 1002 BBY, where he fought with the invasion force under Skere Khan and the Brotherhood of Darkness. He would remain with the occupation force left to hold the planet.

Occupation was not an easy task on Corulag. The resulting insurrection from the vital core world was intense. Soon a campaign of brutality emerged as both sides committed countless atrocities against each other. Alekias, as a lieutenant, has a full view of these atrocities and a free hand to commit them in the various skirmishes and crackdowns against the insurrectionists. However, fate would turn for the officer when the Republic retook the world a year after the Sith had taken it. Already stretched thin by the insurrection, the Sith forces could not hold against the Republic’s regulars. Alekias would be captured by a joint force of insurrectionists and Republican forces as they attempted to retake the capital. Alekias steeled himself for death, knowing that the insurrectionists were more than willing to execute him. Yet death wouldn’t come for the officer, as a timely intervention by a Jedi spared the man from the wrath of the mob.

The war was now over for Severlus as he was bound for a Prison camp on the very planet he occupied. The act of mercy and access to information outside of the Sith censers had lit a long fuse for a change in Severlus. The year in the camp may have been harsh and humiliating for the haughty lieutenant, but he endured. With the Seventh Battle of Ruusan bringing a sudden end to the war as the Sith Empire once again fell to warlordism. With the destruction of his cause, Severlus finally broke and trudged through the remainder of his time on Corulag before being freed. Now aimless, Severlus drifted through the core worlds as he shifted between odd jobs as the galaxy started to rebuild itself. Severlus was surprised by the amount of goodwill that had been given to him by those he met, even by the aliens that he sought to make second-class citizens in the empire. This prompted a reflection that coincided the trials of several high profile figures within the Empire.

These trials hit Severlus hard, he, along with many men and women in the empire, had personally committed the atrocities that the generals and admirals were on the stand for. He had fortunately met his savior during this time, a Miraluka named Bayeurth who ran a courier ship. She kept him afloat and relatively stable through his darkest times as he tried to rationalize his new place in the galaxy. while he provided her protection. Yet, the Republic would eventually repair the holonet in the core and middle world, leaving the pair running less profitable jobs in the outer rim. Given the intimacy of such a small ship, the pair became very close, although Severlus is unsure exactly what he wants to do regarding the women whom he believes he owes everything to.

Fate once again shifted Severlus’ path as bounties were placed on Sith fugitives who managed to flee both the Republic’s efforts and the efforts of the independent states to find them. Severlus found his calling, and a chance to atone for the sins of the past. Bayeurth agreed, knowing that the courier jobs would pale in comparison to the potential of profit from bounty hunting and that it may give Severlus an outlet to focus his stress So far, Severlus has been lucky enough to avoid targets that he knew from the war.

EQUIPMENT: Corellian K-5 Blaster Rifle, V-211 Rampage, Corellian K-5 Sniper configuration
Severlus’ armor
One vibroblade
Two combat knifes

MANNERISM:
Severlus finds it very hard to relax when he cannot focus on a task at hand, this mostly shows itself when he rhythmically taps tables or the side of his hip. When approaching an unpleasant topic, such as the war, he’ll hesitate while speaking and scratch the side of his nose.

WORLD VIEW:
Severlus is unsure of where he stands in the world. He finds it very difficult to leave his anti-alien views behind him as he moves forward in the world, but his indoctrination has been well and truly broken at this point. His guilt weighs heavy on him, driving him to find people from the war who, like him, escaped justice and deliver it to them.
PAIN POINTS:
 • He will avoid discussing the war to anyone except his closest confidants.
 • The witnessing abuses of power from both legitimate and illegitimate organizations will infuriate Serverlus, potentially to the point of violence
DESIRES:
 • Severlus wants nothing more than moving beyond his past.
 • He wants to contact the Jedi who had spared him Corulag.
FEARS & PHOBIAS:
 • After an encounter with a particularly sadistic interrogator, Severlus has been left with a strong fear of needles and other surgical instruments
 • He’s grown close to Bayeurth, and dreads anything happening to her.

Ship Name: The Altos
Ship Model: XS Light Freighters
Amenities: Two Private Quarters, a barracks large enough for six people, standard lounge, eating facilities, medical bay, and a custom training room.
Armaments:The Stock Armament for the class; Two HSG-67 laser cannons and a missile battery
Additional Features:
Notes: The training room was constructed using space that would normally be cargo space, reducing the Alto’s total cargo capacity. The ship also lacks any sort of livery to distinguish it.

NAME:Bayeurth Tyr
SPECIES: Miriluka
APPEARANCE:
Image

EQUIPMENT: Plexoid Blaster Pistol

Both Severlus and Bayeurth do have comlinks to one another.

HISTORY:
Bayeurth was born in 1024BBY on Alpheridies. She displayed heightened force sensitivity at a young age, earning the attention of the Luka Sene. She would join as a minor member of the order soon after, although this was more at the insistence of her family than by her choosing. However, joining the Luka Sene alarmed her mother as the memories about the actions of both Sith Empire and the Jedi Order in desperate and violent times from the Jedi Civil War, the Cold War, and the last millennia of on and off conflict endured. Her father already had been running localized supply runs, so the family had easy access to a ship. In the name of safety, mainly to avoid conscription by the Jedi Order, the three took to space. At her mother’s insistence, her father widened his scope of travel, although they stayed close to the core worlds.

She acclimated to the state of nomadism relatively quickly, and she came to enjoy the sense of adventure that it offered. Buzzing between various stations led to her readily accepting the incredible variety of species in the galaxy. Her tutoring from the Luka Sene continued during the haphazard visits to Alpherdies. Although the lack of consistency has only led her to develop rudimentary farsight and basic telekinetic techniques, but she has the potential to grow given a tutor.

The end of the war came as a relief for the Tyr family. The prospect of peace and rumblings from the core about the demilitarization of the Jedi order allowed them to return home, and her aging parents longed to settle down and retire. Bayeurth, however, found life back on Alpheridies stifling and monotonous, and she was eager to return to the stars. After some persuading, considering she knew how to fly it, she convinced her father to turn the aged Altos over to her. With the holonet needing to be repaired, she saw the opportunity for credits to support her family doing courier jobs in the core and middle rim and made a decent living doing it. Even with peace, crime was still high and flying a freighter alone is dangerous. A close encounter with pirates reinforced that in Bayeurth’s mind, and so she offered a veteran a job. She could see the man’s struggles, and the galaxy needed kindness.

MANNERISM:
Bayrueth tends to adjust her blindfold before meeting new people or starting a conversation. When she’s worried, she tends to bite her finger or a stylus if she has one.

WORLD VIEW:
Bayrueth is naturally sympathetic, seeing the auras of others will do that, but under that naive surface lays a resourceful and adventurous mind that is tempered by the deliberate nature of Miraluka culture. The nomadic lifestyle of a Spacer has left her with a drive to explore the galaxy and a cosmopolitan worldview needed to fully enjoy its beautiful diversity

PAIN POINTS:
 • ”The war was hard on everyone, and it left suffering everywhere.” Suffering which disturbs her.
 • ”Family is everything, and visits to Alpheridies are fewer now than ever.” She longs to occasionally visit home and gets anxious when she cannot.

DESIRES
 • She wants to see her family, biological or otherwise, safe and prosperous.

FEARS & PHOBIAS
 • “The Luka Sene guard us from ourselves, from the Dark.” She fears both the temptation of the dark side and those strong in its use.
 • ”Alekias is a flawed man, but one trying to find closure. I can see it.” She hopes his methods do not consume him.
NAME: Riva Mevo (Standard Pronunciation) Riw'mevo (Native Pronunciation)
SPECIES: Twi’lek
APPEARANCE:
Image

Image

HISTORY:
Born in 1030 BBY on the middle levels of Coruscant, Riva was taken by the Jedi like most in their ranks, taken while young and trained through-out childhood and into young adulthood. After becoming a padawan, Riva took up studying obscure forms of lightsaber namely the lightsaber pike, thinking of the advantages the reach would offer. Her fighting style revolves around trying to disarm her opponents with thrusts for arms or hands that are holding their weapons, and her defensive technique is using the leverage offered by the shaft to overcome the attack and try to counter-attack, and she makes heavy use of force barrier to protect herself from blaster fire due to the limitations of the lightsaber pike
She served in the Light and Darkness War shortly after she was promoted to a knight, however, she was wounded before the Ruusan Campaign commenced. When the peace was made Riva was happy that the suffering was over. With the end of the war, reconstruction began and Riva went out into the galaxy to aid with reconstruction using their force powers to aid the effort by using telekinesis to aid in construction and force heal to help the injured and sick.
Then the Ruusan reformation started and the Republic demobilizes and with it the Jedi Order demilitarizes, feeling that her training would be rendered moot by the demilitarization in addition to the changes to the Jedi Code as a result of the Order demilitarizing, She ignored the call to abandon her armor and chose to refuse the order, effectively leaving in around 995 BBY. Since then she has been lingering in the outer-rim helping civilian and governments alike in their efforts of reconstruction and against pirates and other criminals.

EQUIPMENT:
-A lightsaber pike, the shaft is 6 feet long, with the blade being 2 feet long and is colored dark blue, the lightsaber also has crossguards, their armor from the war and a set of robes.
Image A silver-colored metal replaces the gold, and a deep blue fabric replaces the black.

-A Conductor Class light shuttle in which some of the storage space is being used as a living space
-A YH-55 speeder bike
MANNERISM:
-When stressed by a discussion they rub their shoulder, where a blaster bolt hit her in the shoulder

WORLD VIEW:
-While more grey then she was 10 years earlier, she is still firmly against the temptation of the dark.
-Despite that some of her methods might be seen as wrong and against the way in the eyes of other Jedi, she feels that they are not a bad person because she seeks to give criminals justice.

PAIN POINTS:
-Like most who served in the war, it is a very hard topic to discuss.

DESIRES:

“The war is over, people need help, I’ll go help them.”
-She primarily left the order to aid people in a manner the Reformation wouldn’t allow her to do so. Additionally, she uses her force powers to aid the displaced, and the destitute.

“There are still nefarious individuals out there, I’ll go find them and bring them to justice.”
-While most of the top offenders of the atrocities have been brought to justice, many of the middle-men are still out there. Additionally, this peace has given rise to criminals and pirates due to the power-vacuum and the wave of disillusioned veterans for the New Sith Empire. She works with local governments to bring these men to justice, however, if the government cannot help, she goes after these men herself, donating most of the bounty money she might earn.

FEARS & PHOBIAS:

“ I shall not fall to the dark.”
-While her alignment has dulled due to the temperament of war, she is still wary of falling to the dark side.
“Look at them, living in squaller, being extorted for protection money from what little they have.”
- She cannot stand to see innocents suffer, which is why she set out on the path of diving into criminal underbellies to be able to aid people in their day to day life

FORCE POWERS:
-Telekinesis
-Push/Pull
-Saber throw, in practice it is more of a guided Javelin throw
-Uses Pull to disarm individuals.
-Force Shield
-Force Stun
-Force Heal

NAME: Ukkon Attisu
SPECIES: Human
APPEARANCE:
Image
HISTORY:
Ukkon was born on the Outer Rim world of Garel in 1035 BBY. His father Jarat was a smuggler, but Ukkon himself was not aware of this fact, while his mother Lari operated the market within the capital on Garel, often operating as a black marketeer for Jarat's smuggled goods, yet again without Ukkon's knowledge. Lari explained Ukkon's father's disappearances and continual use of trading vessels by saying that he was an honourable trader within the Republic Navy, ensuring that ships had their supply lines filled and supporting the Republic and all of her laws. Ukkon grew to love this idealised version of his father, and whenever he returned, Ukkon greeted him with open arms. Jarat was not without fondness for his son also, and allowed him to learn the basics of ship controls and navigation while he was home. Ukkon spent his time when his father was away playing with friends, pretending to be an elite Republic Captain, though later, he spent the rest of the time reading treatises on military command and capital ship operations. He would become a naval officer, he had to.

When his father returned home one day, and Ukkon was 13, he felt sorry for the boy being deceived. He took him into space briefly, and had a deep conversation with him. Eventually, Jarat revealed that he wasn't an honourable trader, that he was in fact a smuggler. At first Ukkon didn't believe him, initially laughing along, before becoming concerned with why his father would tell him that. Jarat showed Ukkon the tools and rewards of his trade on his ship. Ukkon was not happy. He ranted and raged at his father, calling him scum for betraying the Republic. While Jarat protested, he didn't raise his voice at the boy. He also didn't reveal the crimes of Ukkon's mother. If Ukkon lost trust in both of his parents, surely it would be too damaging. Jarat returned home even less than he had done before after this point, and whenever he did, Ukkon gave him a wide berth. Eventually, when Ukkon was 15, Jarat tried to level with his son, stating that he only did what he did for the good of his family, and that one could bend the rules and still be moral. Ukkon didn't care. The fact that he had betrayed his trust was too much to get over. Jarat would never return after leaving that last time. After months, Republic troops turned up on the family's doorstep. Jarat's crimes had led right back to Lari too, and Ukkon's mother also was arrested.

Ukkon received a great deal of bullying for both of his parents being outed as criminals. Eventually, the taunting became too much. Ukkon broke the jaw of one of his taunters. He spent a small amount of time in detention, during which he vowed to never break the law again, to be an upholder of law and order wherever he could. Once released, he walked straight into the Republic naval office on Garel - it being a border world, they had a notable presence there - and signed up. His knowledge in capital ship workings made him a prime candidate for the Officer Corps, and so he was taken to the Republic Navy War College on Anaxes. While he was seen to be a real stickler for the rules, he soon excelled in his training, and gained his Lieutenant's commission in 1014 BBY. The ship he joined was a Hammerhead Cruiser, the Defiant, under the command of Captain Iren San. San was in almost every way the ideological opposite of Ukkon. Where Ukkon would cite protocols, rattling them off with the accuracy of a droid, Iren had the tendency to simply go with his gut. While Ukkon's uniform was tidy and worn with pride, Iren's was worn far more loosely. And perhaps most notably, at least to their respective images, Ukkon seemed always to stand in an official military posture, either attention or at ease, while Iren's most notable posture was sitting back in his Captain's chair, smoking a cigarra. But despite their differences, Iren respected the young Lieutenant. Ukkon simply could not understand the Captain's motivations, or laid back demeanour, often complaining about the man with other young Lieutenants.

It was not long before 1010 BBY rolled around, and Ukkon, alongside the entire crew of the Defiant, were sent into the conflict with the New Sith Empire. However, around two years of training operations and fleet movements had convinced Iren San of Ukkon’s quality. San had Ukkon promoted to Commander. The Defiant was not sent to the main theatre of war, instead overseeing a much smaller, less significant sector in the war, where the Sith Empire’s presence was less significant as a whole also.

It was not long before the Defiant came into strife. Ambushed by Sith forces, Iren San and the crew of the Defiant fought daringly against the Sith, and with minimal casualties taken by their side. If Ukkon doubted the ability of the Captain beforehand, he most certainly did not doubt him now. However, it was not until a major fleet battle that Ukkon saw the lengths Iren San would go to in order to grab victory from the jaws of defeat. A line of Sith vessels met up with a line of Republic vessels. Breaking the line and attacking with speed and vigour caused the Defiant to deal many blows to the Sith forces, contributing greatly to a Republic victory. Iren San came under fire from the Admiral for his disobedience, but he was also showered with merit. Ukkon noticed this, and soon began to doubt how stringently he took the rules of the naval forces, ultimately loosening up and becoming more individualistic.

However, the Defiant’s winning streak could not go on forever. 1007 BBY. In an asteroid field, the ship came under attack and was boarded by a small group of Sith troops. In the chaotic Cruiser, most of the troops were defeated. But, being the Captain, Iren San faced off against the Sith commander, who himself was a force-wielding sith. Iren fought valiantly, but unable to help his Captain, Ukkon watched in horror as the Captain was struck down. Fearing for the safety of his crew, Iren San opened the airlock, forcing the Sith out of it, along with San himself dying in the process.

Contacting command, Ukkon was promoted to Captain, but he lost a great deal of confidence, reverting in many ways to his prior training and reliance upon protocols. Once the Defiant was repaired, it was sent back to the front line. Ukkon would follow orders to the letter, and nothing appeared wrong. Until their first battle. Ukkon had been ordered to push the left flank hard in the battle, but while the Sith forces had outmanoeuvred the Republic ones, gunning down many Republic craft, requests for orders were coming up negative from the command ship. Ukkon, therefore, trusted his instincts. He attacked the Sith fleet, breaking position and moving towards the centre. The Sith fleet, taken aback by the renewal in the spirit of this Republic fleet, could not react in time, and much of their fleet was destroyed. However, for the Republic it was much of a Pyrrhic victory, as many Republic ships lay in ruin. Ukkon contacted the Admiral of the fleet, calmly critiquing his strategy, but the Admiral shot back that Ukkon had disobeyed his orders. He gave him a warning – one more instance of this, and Ukkon would find himself back as a Lieutenant. Ukkon returned to his ship. Annoyed, but largely silent.

The next time that fleet went into battle was an offensive mission. The Defiant had been ordered to patrol outside of the system, in order to head off any Sith reinforcements. However, as it turned out, the fleet that the Republic was attacking contained a secret weapon of the New Sith fleet. A request by Ukkon to enter the conflict zone was flatly refused. As such, Ukkon brooded as he listened to the report of the battle, with more and more Republic casualties piling up. The battle was a major defeat – Ukkon’s first, since the major battle force of the Sith Empire was elsewhere. Ukkon rendezvoused with the Admiral, and berated him loudly. He had lost the vast majority of his ships, a few stragglers able to retreat with the order given by the Admiral. The Admiral did not take well to this – he opened up a direct communication channel with military command, accusing Ukkon of insubordination. Ukkon, however, with his great knowledge of rules and protocols, correctly identified every action the Admiral had undertaken in mismanaging the campaign. The Military command identified Ukkon’s account as true, and the Admiral’s as false. Ukkon was promoted to Commodore, while the Admiral was subjected to a court martial, being sent back to Coruscant for that.

Ukkon continued in the war, on this less significant theatre of the war, winning small victories for the Republic even when the Republic was losing badly elsewhere, and gaining quite a deal of prestige from his success even while the rest of the Republic recoiled in defeat. Eventually, though, he was sent, alongside many other Republic naval ships, to intercept Sith reinforcements reaching Ruusan. The raid on the supply lines was a success, and the reinforcements were killed, with Ukkon performing admirably throughout. Eventually, Ukkon was sent to destroy the installations around Ruusan itself, to allow more Jedi forces entry onto the planet. This is considered the high point of the Commodore’s career. However, the battle on Ruusan ended badly, with Skere Kaan unleashing the full brunt of the Force Storm across Ruusan, killing many of the Jedi and most of the Sith. The war was over, and the Republic had won.

As the war finished, Ukkon entirely considered that he’d be gaining another promotion and would continue to serve in the Republic military, even just in an advisory role, due to his veterancy. However, what occurred instead was the Ruusan Reformation, wholesale dissolving the military. While Ukkon and numerous others were given healthy pensions, especially Ukkon due to his rank of Commodore, he felt a certain betrayal by the civilian core of the Republic. His crew, a large and diverse one, largely scattered back to their homeworlds. Ukkon was offered the chance to buy back his old Hammerhead Cruiser, the Defiant, for a reduced rate, as it was only going to go for scrap. He returned to Garel, though does very little of an average day. He misses the chase, the danger, of military life now that peace abounds. He has, however, begun to conceptualise of what he could do if he could reunite his old crew, then roam the galaxy as a vigilante. He even has the ship in his possession…

EQUIPMENT: BL-28 Blaster pistol, comlink, datapad, leather jacket with a padded undershirt,
MANNERISM: Ukkon tends to sit silently for long periods, thinking, which can be unnerving for some. He also sometimes rubs his fingers with his thumb when listening to people speak. He can sigh more often than most would like, especially in the presence of what he sees to be incompetence.
WORLD VIEW: Ukkon has a very strong belief in justice and moral justification. He’s naturally someone who likes rules and order, having to learn to loosen up, even to disobey orders, bending the rules for the greater good. He hates people taking advantage of the weak, as well as the suffering of others. He believes it is a moral good to feel the need to prove and improve oneself.
PAIN POINTS:
 • No longer enjoys talking about the Republic or its politics. Feels it has betrayed him to no small extent.
 • Won’t speak about his parents. Even now that he understands the value of bending the laws, he sees their actions as dishonourable.
 • Doesn’t like talking about his homeworld of Garel. Would prefer to leave there as soon as possible.
 • Absolutely hates following the instructions of those who are incompetent.
DESIRES:
 • Doing his duty (or what he perceives that to be).
 • Loves the very idea of military life.
 • Always wanting to improve himself.
FEARS & PHOBIAS:
 • The vacuum of space.
 • Being forced into a situation he cannot fix (especially if it’s by someone’s incompetence).
 • Inaction in times of need.

Ship Name: Defiant
Ship Model: Hammerhead Cruiser
Amenities: Hangar, 8 escape pods, sleeping quarters.
Armaments: 8 turbolasers, 6 heavy lasers.
Additional Features: Large cargo capacity, space for 300 crewmen and passengers.
Notes: Has put up a plaque up in the ship commemorating the lives of all crewmembers lost during the war, with particular focus on Iren San.

This looks pretty interesting, and I'd be pretty interested in making an app for a Sith force user. I just have one question though.

So the title says closed, but who is it closed to?

This RP started out as open world but after we started getting players, and despite having obtained two co-ops there was a demand for a tighter plot as opposed to sandbox play. In light of the shift from open world to tight plot the Co-Ops and I have examined the player characters and created a plot to involve them- calling the new IC project 'Ruusan's Shadow'. Same setting as this OOC was intended for but tighter plot. When KL-22 apped I spoke to the others and we found a place for the character of Ukkon to fit and it was suggested by a co-op that we close sign ups.

As for a sith force user such isn't possible at the time of the RP, as the battle of Ruusan is believed to have ended the Sith. This era is the start of the Rule of Two. I've allowed Dark side force users who are not Sith though given the tight plot I don't think such a character could be fit in.

Hmmm, maybe he won't necessarily be affiliated with the Sith, but perhaps he turns to the Dark Side and forsakes Jedi teachings? My plan was for him to be a former Jedi-in-training, then he finds the dark side of the force more appealing after x series of events, and he teaches himself the ways of the Dark Side. Maybe such a character could be an antagonist in a structured story?

Jedi have fallen numerous times before the point we're launching this setting at and they don't stop falling even long after the reformation, so that path is certainly a viable option. War is a catalyst for Jedi falling, and the galaxy has just emerged from a millennium of large scale conflict. The order is also fundamentally changing as they attempt to return to the old ways, where the Jedi were peacekeepers and not generals and warriors. This means numerous Jedi are losing power, possibly turning them away from the order over political reasons and starting their descent as some may go looking for power in the still fractured galaxy.

Do you have anything more than a rough idea at this point?
