Merchant Man, Sam
Tungsten-spikes hit Sam’s shields. A series of massive flashes of blinding light illuminate the void as Sam’s shield absorbs the kinetic energy, leaving the sikes deformed and bent to all hell in their wake after impact. Sam’s cargo ship was in range for a laser-shot but the sensors on board were still bugged. There is no way that the crew could be able to properly calculate the shot with the worm still in the ship’s systems. Damn, this bug is annoying. Sam still sets course to exit the system, using that small planet nearby on the holo-map as a marker. Sam wonders if there is any data on that planet. There could be some info on the database, unless this was an unsurvey system - untouched by the systems and planets census. There is not much to do now, but hope to god that Sam’s sensors go on soon, and that the ship’s course is smooth. The whole crew is blind right now. They can barely tell the difference between an asteroid and tungsten spikes coming their way. The captain can only hope that this is all worth it for Yelm. It better be, or Sam is going to get really mad for risking his life and ship.
