Would it be alright for me to have an opening post be the Cortez already in a new system or do you want me to start specifically at Sathas? If latter, do I have to take into account such things as logistics (make an attempt to refuel ship) or is it assumed that such things are successful?

For those other explorers on Sathas, I'm open to potentially working together, if our work calls for it.

Would your good captain mind working with an old cruiser? Unsure how cluttered Sathas's space is but I'm sure a Terran warship would stick out like a sore thumb.

I figure if we can find something big enough that is worth splitting credits over, then sure. Lucjan's ship is obviously lighter and faster, so he could scout ahead and do initial reconnaissance for the Cortez. Again though, we will have to see what we can turn up first.

I mean Sakol is just looking for systems with Builder Technology but if our work do calls for it, I'm okay for teaming up. I guess Sakol's ship can serve as the backup scout ship or just as bait if there is any space battle or enemy fleet

I like 'em. Going to give them a bit of a workover and let you know and see if you're into them.

You can start in orbit around Sathas and warp out of the system, arriving in the new one that you're going to. Logistics don't need your attention 90% of the time, in the 10% that they are you'll be notified.

Cool. Thanks.

By the way, could I ask on the scaling for this setting? How large are most fighters/freighters/capital ships?

I'm currently working on a general reference-list for warships, check it under the lore post. Good info to read up on. Since I wasn't clear on things like that from the get-go, I can treat the vessels in the ogoing fights called frigates etc as smaller unless you guys insist and we can work something out.

What equipment does a standard crew member have?

Nothing, you have to equip them with weapons and armor.

Surprised you don't have +/-5 to different statistics for different races or something along those lines since not every race are going to have the same strengths and weaknesses as everybody else.

Wow OK. I really like the basis you have so far (Partially because my ship actually fits in there, yay on that). Probably have the Cortez for a good long while barring any sort of massive issue/incident/detonation. Tbh most ships under PC command are under "Attack Boats" in your descriptions for crew and sizing, so...yeah. Ships in ongoing fights would probably be corvettes in my opinion.

Holy fuck, I didn't even notice that part of the OP. Alright so Imma have to equip them. Good. Great.

That's unfortunate.

Now I can see why the task of the ducks trying to liberate more than two dozen slaves from a successful Zorvishi pirate being a daunting task. Even if I to succeed at this I can see them trying to come after me with dozens of guns and their corvette.

Dang tribals, I swear.

That said, the Cortez is always willing to take on new crew. Only the minor issue of distance, but...eh.

by the way, rouge > rogue.
unless they're cosmetic psionics, which then they may as well be rouge psionics.

Unfortunately ducks don't back down from a challenge. The whole warrior race thing.

Tell me about it. Hope I'm able to get something from this job because if not then my crew will be double pissed when we lost plus I don't have enough money to pay them.

Hmm, since I was't quite clear on crew rules in the beginning either... should crew start with the simplest pistols at least to make early-game a bit less difficult?

Check the poll! If we choose yes, those who have purchased guns can retcon some of that and get some cash back if they wish to.

Were we allowed to use our starting credits to give our characters starting weapons or armor?

I did, and I think that was permitted.

Guess we're getting more starting credits. Can finally deck out my ducks with better dakka.
