The National Dominion of Hungary wrote:Nice work, generally I like them. I'd change a few things in the stats and descriptions though. Nothing too major but I'll work it over and then tell me what you think.

Edit: So, what do you think? Also, updated the old starter ships with the new stats.

Badger

Description: The IntraKor T-9 Badger is a small combat ship that has been in production for hundreds of years. It has great armor, carries a decent amount of cargo, and it's weapon systems are interchangeable and reliable. Many pilots return from fights with very damaged Badgers and yet they still work like a charm. It lacks all of the latest bells and whistles, but it's a great deal for a retro model. Overall, the Badger is reliable, gets you home no matter what, and is a solid, affordable choice. It has become popular with small star-states who can't afford a better vessel to fill the role of patrol boat or customs enforcement ship. It has become such a hit that there is a rumor that a MkII and MkIII are in the works.

Cargo: 80 units
Weapons: 2 homing missile launchers - 2 Medium Plasma Cannons - 1 Manually-operated Railgun Turret
Utilities: Shield Generator
Utility Slots Available: 5
Crew Capacity: 12
Price: 25,000 Credits

Pike

Description: The Kelerah K-100 Pike is Kelerah's attempt at making an affordable speed platform with a higher cargo capacity for it's size. It is a mid-level single-crew smuggling and combat ship that is an updated version of the Kelerah Sunburst 90. This ship is slightly slower than the Sunburst, but has more cargo space and a more powerful weapons system than it's predecessor. It is popular with mercenaries and pirates for it's agility in combat. The armor is very light and can't take more than a few blasts, but any opponent will have a hard time hitting this vessel due to it being a small target and it's agility. It is suitable for carrying small amounts of goods from point A to point B in a timely fashion. They are very well built and don't require too much maintenance, and as an added bonus, the ship is cheap at a mere 15,000 Credits. Smugglers and dealers often use it's hard-to-detect cargo hold to smuggle illegal weapons and narcotics. Overall, a solid choice for those who favor speed and cargo above all else.

Cargo: 35 units
Weapons: 1 Prow-mounted High-watt Laser Lance - 1 Homing missile launcher
Utilities: Smuggling compartment (10 additional cargo units)
No available utility customization
Crew Capacity: 5
Price: 15,000 Credits

Kasaar

Description: The Suvura Kasaar Freighter is a timeless classic, hitting the mid-size freighter market about 70 years ago and beloved by merchants, traders, and dealers alike. This vessel was a near-perfect balance of cargo space and armor plating and armed with enough guns to keep pirates at bay. The massive cargo size for a mid-size freighter allowed for transportation of more goods. Along with that, the ship features a fully enclosed docking bay amidships carrying a small shuttle. The ship is very open for customization and militaries on a budget have adapted these dependable vessels for combat, sacrificing cargo space for armor plating and weapons capacity. However, the ship has one major flaw: engine efficiency. Suvura isn't exactly known for their engine quality, and fuel costs can quickly eat into your budget if you don't have engines besides the base ones installed. Overall, a very good choice for Captains who want protection and cargo space on one platform.

Cargo: 500
Weapons: 6 automatic, manual, or a mix of (buyer's choice) homing missile turret ports.
Utilities: Mining laser, Shuttlebay.
Utility Slots Available: 8
Crew Capacity: 50
Price: 50,000 Credits

I like the edits very much. I can't wait to see them in the ship list.

Also, does anyone else have any ship ideas?

Taggity tag tag. I will not have much time to post in November, but I will apply regardless. I will do what I can.
I use my NationStates stats, because a population of billions/trillions and an economy of hundreds of trillions is totally viable, trust me.
But seriously, aside from the population and GDP, just assume that my NS stats are roughly accurate.

This really does look interesting (and meaty, jeez!). Might I request an alternative ship to start with...? I'm happy to add the stats as are portrayed in the OP. Basic idea for it would be a large combat vessel (approximately 800 feet length-ish) which is heavily damaged/uninhabitable for most areas, refitted for long range exploration. Large ish crew.

Species: Outer Rim Human
Background: Explorer
Bio: Lyzzy Lyndsay is the daughter of the Explorer Sluggor O’Tööl who vanished along with the entirety of his crew one and a half decades ago. He named his daughter after a fragment of old earth song he found in a ruined outpost. She stands a towering 5'0" and makes up for her lack of experience with a fanatical stubbornness.

After Lyzzy’s mother passed under suspicious circumstances her father became manic and dististant. He began an endless hunt for an item called the Demitasse. It was this hunt that would lead to the explorer’s disappearance.
Her father's notes are vague and filled with riddles. Oftentimes they seem to be nothing more than the ramblings of a mad man as he would leap into rants that the church of unity had inquisitors constabulary hot on his tail. Lyzzy would spend her time between schooling pouring over his e-journs. Many contained old myths and legends most tangentially related to the mysterious Demitasse at best.
As a teen she along with several school mates would found her own band of relic hunters the Demitasse Seljuks. I'm glad it piqued your interest! :) Hmmm, I'd rather have folks going out into the void with the starting vessels. But feel free to write up your ship idea and we can add it to the list of ships that we can acquire along the way.

Name: Chieftess Kyr Mirhorn Van
Gender: Female
Species: Dunkidor
Background: Merc
Bio: One of the leaders of the Star Clans that appeared over 1500 years ago. Her clan, Clan Mirhorn Van set up only one hundred years ago as a new fourth generation successor clan that came during the conquest of the Human successor state of House Mitorvi and the Cathedral World capital of the sector. The Clan itself was a vanguard that got wiped out by purity regiment on the Cathedral World. However, the genetic eggs of their offspring were still around and they used this, plus cloning of others had allowed them to rebuild the Clan and their people.

However the debt was large for the Clan and many of their kind were taken as soldiers on other worlds with only a handful left with a ship and their Clan's tapestry. They set off to the unknown galaxy and beyond the Star Clans Tula Vuhul to seek their money and fame to claim their place as a true clan. The Ducks went from job to job, sometimes raiding people, other times providing security for those going to the Outer Rim but the dream was still there.

Now they search for the big one, a job big enough for them to recruit more of their kind to forge a new clan and perhaps join the main Star Clans again in getting a space or maybe even go independent in forging a new start nation to try and rebuild the Old Culture prior to when the Humans never found them.
Equipment: Medium Armor, Accatran Mark 7 DMR,Mod-5 Foehammer, 1 Powerblade
Crew: 9( 10 when counting the Chieftess)
Ship: Cutter
Stat Rankings: Brawn 43/Brain 10/Heart 13/Guile 30/ Fame 1
Traits: A gunshot wound near the heart that was from a lover of Kyr. The Chieftess never trusted anyone like that again and watch people more closely. +3 Brawn, + 2 Guile
You withered and fled. Fame was never the goal. Celebrity only interfered with your work. You became a recluse, spurning the invitations and ignoring the calls. - Heart + 3 / Guile + 2
Other: Back in the Imperium's high days, around 3500 years prior, the Imperium found the marsh homeworld of Golgara. The Dunkidor are a sentient race of anthropomorphic ducks that were backwards and were as advanced to that of the Victorian Age in some places and iron age in the other areas. The Humans enslaved them very swiftly and used them to be farmers in the various agriworlds in their local sectors.

This was marked by the Great Separation for their kind. The Imperium scattered their people across the galactic winds and their clans grew different between each other in entire worlds. Many of them had became different in adaptions and biology in some cases. Those who grew in agriworlds that were harsher made those ducks much stronger and more combat sound while those who had the easy life were more weaker, yet smarter.

After 1000 years of being bred, enslaved, and adapting that they rebelled. The various rebellions were nearly put down unanimously as they were scattered but three had succeed in a bittersweet form. The homeworld one was the largest and managed to get their people off the planet and into the unknowns of the Outer Rim. Another world, Makhiem, were the Dunkidor were among the strongest of their race had fought back the Humans and hijack a couple of freighters and head to the Outer Rim. The last was a space station called Tyrnior Port. The Dunkidor were more technicians working both hydroponics and smuggled books and other things to increase their intelligence.

The people of the space station just hacked their way on a tramp freighter and drove into the Outer Rim. They found a planet called Beaer and all joined together and used the Human technology to build themselves a force and promised to strike back against their oppressors wherever they colonized or draw their banners. Such was the oaths given to one another to form a confederation of clans that survive the Humans and strike back against the galaxy, thus the Tula Vuhul was started.

From the corners they came upon the sector of their former homeworld and slave colonies and wage a war of dominance against the Imperial holdings. The battles were bloody and destructive, many clans were lost in the annals of history but they continued to fight. Even then the slaves were freed and they fought against the humans as small victories become big ones as they added up. Eventually the final battle happened on their homeworld where the first High Chieftain Volstang the Whitetail who took out the general in single-hand combat.

The Ducks cheered and reassert their dominance in the sector, taking human tech and turning that against their oppressors. During this time the Imperium was suffering setbacks but the Ducks still had an uphill battle to continue the Tula Vuhul across different sectors as Dunkidor ships and millions of troops took to the stars in search of glory, loot, and battle across the stars. These clans became known as Uthina Bin, Star Clans while the many more who settled on the worlds they conquered and colonize as the Enalda Bin, Stick Clans.

The Imperial sectors that were under constant threat of the Duck Star Clans they had been slowly pushed off by the increasing number, tactics and even tech from other alien species to help them in the war against the Imperium. Eventually sectors started to get captured in either whole or various ways but the humans shed many of the Ducks blood. The battles of attrition that the Humans can do with an equal amount of murderous intent had infinite numbers and infinite resources to throw at the Star Clans as every planet and battle was costly against the Dunkidor.

Still, the Tula Vuhul continued as every victory allowed them to take such resources and tech to help better their species as a whole. However all victories did come to an end when a Imperial Crusade came to come and stop the rampaging Dunkidor and exterminate the watery fowls once and for all. The humans burned a path through the newly colonized space of the xenos but did met a grind when they came upon the core space of the Dunkidor, the Thule Clusters.

These worlds had surprisingly powerful defenses and churned out ships and men at a turn rate that some believe shouldn't be possible. The ships were built by the use of new sophisticated automation and VI systems while Star Clans had used their wealth to come together and commission cloning and genetic engineered clan members to match the attrition that they would soon face. Even against the numbers of the Crusade such small victories weren't enough and they at best slowed down one part only for others to slip through.

The only way for them to be saved was by luck as Clan Steel Fowl had managed to create a miracle by outmaneuvering the Crusade fleet and managed to inflict heavy casualties on the capital ships. It was one of the signal greatest victories the Ducks had ever done against the Humans. Still, the battles against the humans were still hefty but they managed to stop it there and push back, just barely.

Afterwards the Crusade, the ducks nearly got exterminated but the ducks survived. It would take many centuries till the year 6200 where they managed to take up colonizing and the Tula Vuhul was taken up once more. They had a better time in their wars this time around as the Imperium was corrupted and the regional leaders were not as strong compared to what they were centuries ago. This allowed the various Duck Clans to set up and invade entire sectors in the name of their vengeance against the humans. Many of the humans who settled on their former worlds were wiped out or turned into thralls with sterility programs enforced upon them.

Many humans fled the coming invasions of more and more ducks had started to migrate from the Thule Clusters and other nearby regions searching for loot, glory and land for the rest of their population. It wasn't entirely a walk in the park as some Imperial warlords had band together to fight against the Ducks. They were beaten back but that didn't deter them against the feathered tide.

From decades turned to centuries, the Ducks met other alien species and they worked with them and some Star Clans became mercenaries and traders to go across the galaxy as the war kept going for the Ducks to get their vengeance against the humans. Many of these Star Clans do not seek glory or honor in fighting the Eternal Foe, but search for peace and trade in bringing back the Old Culture. A time before the Humans found and enslaved them so long ago.

Those who did this had colonized away of the main Ducks and into places across the Outer Rim or in places like the Freehold in exchange for helping a planet's defense with their military skills or ships. They are few and far between in comparison to those who fight but they have been growing in number since the fall of the Imperium as many of their kind have believed that the fall of the Imperium had been the vengeance that they wanted but other still fight their successors as humans can never forgive the ducks for their atrocities and the ducks can never forgive the transgressions the Imperials had done.

Because of their history of battles and the Eternal War had made them famous for their warriors and battles despite the small size compared to other star-nations. They are ruled as a confederation of clans with each of their respective leaders lead in a clan ring. They use the use of the internet similar to the Ellireans. They are even sophisticated in some ways, using battlesuits and VI's to help them fight and help them on their ships. They're not as advanced as others but such things were meant to accommodate their weaknesses as birds and have half the size of a human.

Despite the biological shortcomings they are fairly advanced, mostly using human tech they plundered and copied or alien tech they traded for. One of the most important tech that they have besides their automation is their clone and genetic engineering tech. Many of their people in the Star Clans tend to use these two in order to replenish troop numbers and they'll be able to fight against the Imperial successors in the galaxy.

One such enemy that they wholly fight against is the Blessed Empire, those who have deemed the Dunkidor as evil demons who have ever so expanding in their territories and have done grave misdeeds to humanity itself. Such fights are brutal on both forces as the local worlds would get devastated beyond repair but still the fight goes on. Still the Ducks make their small gains and ransack Cardinal Worlds in spite and defile the Divinity of Man as they strike vengeance against the supposed true successor of the Imperium.

While many of the Star and Planet Clans have started to spread out from their Thule Clusters and other sectors that have devoted themselves to fighting the Blessed Empire. They live out in the Outer Rim as small fiefs independent of their confederation or they become nomadic as they either plunder things or become merc outfits. Some have even joined the Freeholds as the newest members being a good addition to their collective navy and a lot of those Star Clans join happily to keep the Freeholds free.

The Ducks themselves seem like one of the few growing star-nations in this new galaxy, with their Eternal War sharping their bills and skill against the Blessed Empire more so than most warrior races but that is one of the few reasons why the don't expand very rapidly. Many believe that if they did stop their Eternal War and poured their resources inward then they would be a fairly prosperous people.

Only time will tell if the Ducks finally move on from their transgressions against the Imperials and finally work on improving their newly gathered homes.

Crew equipment as of right now.

3 Loxatl U90s
4 Zavras 222-AR
one Foehammer( given from Kyr)
One looted Khirost M51 Carbine

Everyone has light armor or shielding.

That's not what the Chieftess wants as she just wants to rebuild her clan and find a place for herself in the galaxy.

Fantastic work Ralnis, accepted! Welcome aboard captain.

Name: Leon Tchaikovsky

Gender: Male

Species: Human

Background: Rouge Psionic

Bio: Unlike many in the upper echelons of the old Imperium’s Navy, Leon was born neither rich, nor anywhere near Centrum. Leon was born in the outer rim on the world of Krieg, but he longed to live on a richer and greener world. One night while his parents slept, Leon ran away from his home and made his way to the nearest ship dock with the hope of sneaking aboard a freighter and getting away from his homeworld. Leon managed to make his way to the ship dock and hide between two crates. At that point, Leon experienced "cold feet" and decided to return home.

However, Leon encountered several members of a local criminal gang, who dealt in drugs and human trafficking. They trapped him and attempted to abduct him. Fortunately for Leon, a passing dock constable managed to chase off the thugs and Leon took the opportunity to flee home. He never told his parents about the incident but never gave up his desire to leave Krieg. When a passing Imperium fleet cleared out much of the filth and other criminal groups on his world, this convinced Leon that he would Enlist in the Imperium’s Navy.

Shortly thereafter, Leon found himself at the Imperium’s premiere Naval Academy. Leon threw himself into his studies, and before long proved himself a capable tactician. However, it was during this time that his Psionic abilities made themselves manifest. With too much capital already sunk in his path, the Imperial Administration decided to allow Leon to continue his path with the Navy. He quickly found that his abilities could greatly augment his skills.

His greatest failing during his time at the Academy was his lack of networking. While he got along well enough with colleagues that held a similar background to himself, he found it difficult to relate to the more affluent and influential students. This would come back to bite him time and again in the future. Despite being in the upper middle of the pack, he was passed over for many of the more prestigious and desirable postings by his social betters. This infuriated Leon to no end, and he would carry a chip on his shoulder through the rest of his career.

For many years, Leon would toil in obscurity. Often lagging behind his peers when it came to promotions, largely because the brass disliked him. By the time many of his friends had earned their first captaincy, Leon was still an Executive Officer. This prompted Leon to work tirelessly to prove himself so as not to be left behind. It would, however, still be sometime before his talent was realized.

When finally Leon made the rank of Captain, he was spurned again by being placed in a particularly dangerous and undesirable corner of space. A place in which careers went to die. Despite this, and the incompetence of those under his command. Over the next several years Leon utilized his iron willpower and Psionics to shape up his crew and bring some semblance of order to the region. But, his time in the far reaches of the galaxy had an adverse effect on Leon. He became a hardened man, and it was reflected in many of his future actions.

Seeing the potential in posting Leon to lawless regions to shape them into productive corners of the Galaxy, the higher ups saw fit to promote him to Commodore. For the next decade, Leon spent his time in the outer reaches of civilization, fighting pirates and suppressing rebellions. The exact opposite of what he’d dreamed for all those years ago. Rather than complain, Leon took his anger out on the outer colonies. And while his methods were certainly questionable, his effectiveness was unquestionable.

By the time he was honored with a promotion to Admiral, the name Tchaikovsky was feared all throughout the Outer Regions. The mere threat of bringing Leon into the region was enough to scatter criminal rackets, send pirates cowering, and make secessionists think twice about rebelling. However, his promotion was short lived when war dawned with the Hemoh Unity. As the war raged and world were burned, the Admiralty saw fit to transfer Leon back corewards to help turn the tide. Unfortunately, while he was enroute, the Imperium was overthrown. Without access to his own forces, or any direction from the Admiralty, Leon was virtually alone in an unknown region of space.

Leon sought out Imperial Loyalists, and enlisted himself in their services. Fighting tooth and nail in the name of the Imperial Remnant for the next few years. He did all that he could to restore the Empire. However, his efforts were in vain. Few of his compatriots truly believed in the Empire, and most were simply ruthless pragmatists. Any step forward towards bringing the Empire back was thwarted by near constant infighting and betrayals. Disgusted, Leon deserted with other like minded Loyalists, taking a ship and fleeing back to the outer reaches of the galaxy. Many years later, the once proud Imperial Admiral found himself alone, barely surviving. With almost nothing left, Leon found himself drawn to Rakodan, hoping against hope that he might find some measure of purpose there.

Equipment: 40 Credits

Crew: None

Ship: Pinnance, Shadow of Doubt

Stat Rankings: Brawn 10/Brain 30/Heart 15/Guile 25

Traits: Psionic

Other: I envisioned Leon using his Psionics during his time as an Imperial officer similarly to Battle Meditation from Star Wars if that's cool.

Given that we both have good-light-fast ships, we would be likely trading low-volume high-value goods. I can't do bulk trading due to my limited cargo-space. I buy whatever is cheap on the market then we'll go a place where it is in decent demand, likely someplace that has pirates, as conflict creates hard-times, and hard-times create good profit from desperate people.

Name: T'kra Tyawerai
Gender: Female variant
Species: Other - Werai
Background: Criminal
Bio: Even before she reached maturity, T'kra was a fierce military general for her village. However, due to a number of poor diplomatic decisions by her superior, she was dealt a savage blow at the battle of Kau Kroh. Her king dismissed her from service. He was going to fall regardless of military leadership, and he wanted to make certain that his loyal daughters would not have to bear the brunt of his poor mistakes. T'kra was the only daughter who chose to leave the king's side in his final days. The others refused the king's generosity, dying in a final and, because of T'kra's absence, ill-strategized last stand.
In the meantime, Tyawerai defected to the least involved and thus most lenient power involved in the war. Her competence brought her to the highest levels of officers and by proxy into direct conflict with the established brass. It quickly became apparent that no soldier would take her orders, save for a very spare few who took prior issue with the establishment. T'kra collected these as part of her personal squad and escort, and they never left her side. They would eventually become her crew.
Due to internal squabbles, T'kra's new king had to move her to an assignment as far from everyone else as possible. That concept applied on a galactic scale meant putting her on a cheap ship and sending it through the vast reaches of space. She asked her monarch what he wanted from her at the edges of the galaxy: exploration, evangelism, or conquest. The answer was, quote, "anything she wanted, for glory or self gain, so long as her troubles did not return to her homeland."
Much of the galaxy had already been explored, so her achievements were by necessity very specific. The first to navigate this star. The first to set foot on this one moon on record. The first to establish an automated communications post on this asteroid. Keyu, far and away the most book smart, found natural instances of heavy element isotopes on new planets, which were rarities and useful discoveries. None of her achievements received acclaim or mere recognition from her home planet, even when she sent back word.
Seeking glory for her people had come to naught. T'kra had absolutely no knack for science or book smarts, anyways. Her old empire had fallen, and her current empire rejected her. It was now time to look after herself. Tyawerai set a series of rules which she would follow as a highwayman. She would set up a base on a dense-atmosphere world which she called Irewa-Airow and which reminded her of home. She would only steal bounties that could endure the planet's harsh climate, and she would retreat to her base if things got rough. Few, if any, could follow her down to the planet's surface. Because her crew don't have the same nutrition as other life forms, she would never touch her opponent's food or life support systems. She would never destroy ships unless absolutely necessary, only preventing them from retaliation. Under these self-set rules, she believed her piracy to be excusable.
Victims were often more confused than angry at her selection of valuables to loot. Her piracy didn't affect bottom lines, and no one died from her exploits. She accumulated a lot of mostly-useless material but not a lot of wealth. This method of petty cash paid the maintenance bills and kept the retired general busy but satisfied. She still kept her honor, even as a thief.

Ship: The Pinnance Koi Kayi, meaning "The Fallen's Testament"
Stat Rankings: Brawn 20/Brain 10/Heart 10/Guile 35
Traits: N/A
Other: Evolved on a planet with a runaway greenhouse effect, the Werai developed thick layers of unique waxes on their skin to keep undesired energy outside their system. As a result, they are less vulnerable (but still vulnerable) to laser fire but are extremely uncomfortable in pressure/temperature combinations where gallium can remain a solid. Any more than a day in those conditions, and they die out. Further, they have three eyes. Each eye absorbs a plane of light, and focus comes from the intersection of the three planes. This allows them to see better in heavy-atmosphere environments, but it leads to depth-perception issues when one eye is covered. Further, in moments of extreme mental stress, they lose control of their eyes while thinking they have control, leading to shenanigans. They glow to discharge energy when too hot, and they feed off thermal energy and the soil in the ground.
Werai have a reverse reproductive system with comparison to Earth's insect colonies. Ants and bees spawn hundreds of male variants, of which the most capable are selected by a queen and passed through to new generations. In Werai culture, a single male spawns thousands of genetic codes, and hundreds of females carry the codes via children. The ones that survive, the remnants of the generation, move the species forward. As a result, all crews that transfer off a Werai planet consist of capable female variants.

This character also has 50 credits (100 credits minus 50 credits for the armor), as well as rocks from the place of her birth. They aren't valuable, but they are priceless to her, as a reminder of her former home. She enjoys singing battle songs.

Name: Lucjan Vrana
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Background: Explorer
Bio: Lucjan, a former Praetorian of the last Emperor, hails from Cybulska, a bustling trade center located in one of the more settled regions of the Outer Rim. Recruited from the crumbling Empire's stormtrooper brigades in his twenties, Lucjan was made a member of the Emperor's 10,000-strong Praetorian Guard, the elite bodyguards charged with the safety of the Imperial family.

Sadly, as the course of war with the Hemoh turned against the Empire and ever-growing numbers of the nobility shirked the authority of the state, even the supposedly august Praetorians did not remain above the fray of politics. In the fateful year of the Empire's demise, the bodyguard was split between the majority Excubitors, who sided with the conspiracy among the nobility and clergy to topple the Emperor, and the minority loyalists, who rejected it. With nearly all the organs of the state aligned against them, the loyalists naturally lost and saw their Emperor toppled and his family massacred. The rebels consolidated their position by annihilating nearly all the Praetorians, renegade and loyalist alike, seeing in them a potential rival power base. Lucjan only survived this blood-letting on Centrum by deserting and smuggling himself off-world on a Farrassaqui freighter. He attempted to return to his homeworld of Cybulska, but the spiraling civil war ripped through the system and an orbital bombardment of the planet ended up killing his wife and young daughter.

Lucjan faded into the background, the rebels too embroiled with the Hemoh and their own disputes to bother with him. He built a new life as an enterprising explorer and frontiersman of the Outer Rim, earning a reputation as someone who was willing to endure great dangers to map uncharted systems or help found new colonies. Though the shame of his conduct on Centrum may never leave him, Lucjan has a desire to atone for what happened, and to find a new purpose that isn't eking out Credits on the back edge of settled space.

T'kra made it a point to delegate tasks to those four specifically and to only intervene to settle disputes. Welu and Tiwi discovered natural instances of certain heavy element isotopes and conducted a wide variety of experiments. Iwyi and Iara specialized in biology, recording multiple instances of undiscovered life. Again, their physical advantages worked wonders, but their abilities were nothing without their capabilities, which, thankfully, were vast.

Hmmm, little reluctant about the gems, loose that or simply describe them as a personal memento or something and you'll be golden. Be aware that stats-wise, the Werai will largely follow baseline rules like other species.

There's no hard limits how many players can be a certain class, play the explorer if that's what you want, no worries.

And yes of course! Do share ideas for ships, weapons, equipment, planets and other things.

Fantastic app Rodez, accepted!

As we now have a good number of players, I'll be trying to get the IC up today.

Mass Effect Andromeda is a solid 7/10. Deal with it.

CHARACTER APPLICATION

Name: Me'lek Tsualn
Gender: Female
Age: 29
Species: Emyaar
Background: Explorer
Appearance:
Standing at 6’2”, Tsualn is a usual example of an Emyaar who grew on one of the border worlds. Slender though not a stick, she still has some measure of muscles from her days at work. Having less severe ears than most, her brown hair is kept in a ponytail or bun, the points sticking out. She prefers to wear simple navy blue jumpsuits, same as her crew, mostly due to the fact that it was cheaper to buy them in bulk and simply wear a pair. A pair of boots are worn in the same manner. What is a small cry different than her crew, however, is a manually sewn-on band of deep crimson on her collar. She rarely is seen without her pistol, something that might make a few more on edge.
Biography:
Born on the border world of Keelima within the Yaaric Union, Tsualn’s early life was not one of spectacular success. Keelim on the whole was considered a failure under most of the Union and as such her people could do little more than be failures as a result. Tsualn was born into one of those lower castes within the Union and, like some few others in that same position, desperately wanted to rise up from that station. She worked hard at the docks, establishing a minor reputation, before making the attempts to get off-world. After all, staying on the planet would make for an unfortunate death sentence and she didn’t like her odds, especially with the lack of support from the rest of the Union and from Tienne Corp specifically. Marketing herself as a deckhand, one of those unfortunates who would have the joys of suiting up and maneuvering cargo in zero-g environments, Tsualn would be offered a job aboard the Clarke, a light freighter. What wasn’t known at that time was that the Clarke did not operate in an entirely legal fashion.

Their first job would be the illegal salvaging of several space stations that had gone dark through one means or another. Some were placed poorly in pirate-frequented areas, personnel moved out in response to the constant attacks, while others had pirate activity build up around them. Others experienced freak storm activity that prevented the usual traffic and shipments. In general, they were in rather dangerous spots. Tsualn would live through these, however, on the basis that the Clarke was never actually attacked by pirates, aliens, or any other random object that might pose an issue. The ship was successful in most things it attempted and though she was a newer member of the crew, the lady was paid pretty well for the work she did on their behalf. Sites were perpetually littered with debris, support structures were never stable enough for use, and often gas clouds prevented normal sensor operation; still, she was able to bring the cargo aboard. It was normally illicit goods that didn’t bode well for any law enforcement, but they got out and dropped it off with rarely a hitch.

They were contracted directly however by a group of pirates on Port Dusk for salvaging a special sort of place. They were to salvage the Spire Conflict, a battle which had taken place centuries prior between Imperial forces, and to salvage a specific ship. The Cortex had been the namesake of her class, the pride of her fleet right up until a mine put a hole right through the engineering section, flooded the ship with radiation, and killed nearly everyone aboard. It was a luck shot by far, though for obvious reasons luck wasn’t on the Cortez at that precise moment. They were to make the ship operational again through any means necessary. Needless to say, Clarke’s captain wasn’t eager to start the salvaging and headache repairs but the pirates offered exceptionally good money to put the ship back into service with them and there was no telling what could happen if they told the pirates no. Word was they’d offered the same fee to another ship that had refused and, as a result, that vessel’s next outing had five separate pirate attacks. They didn’t make it through, though not for lack of trying. It was do or die and the Clarke didn’t like dying.

Making their way through the Spire field, littered with ship remains, unstable fields, and undetonated mines, they came across the Cortez herself. The ship looked like shit and turned out was pretty shit, the damage from years before being not inconsequential as was expected by the captain. They continued to try to repair the heavy cruiser over the course of two months, constantly having the Clarke reposition in order to avoid the slowly shifting field around them. One day, however, as Tsualn and several others were aboard the Cortez their home ship experienced a significant emotional event as a mine entered their starboard engine nacelle. The resulting explosion killed most of the crew aboard the Clarke including her captain and most of the relative-titled upper command staff. The mine had great timing, though, because the day before they’d gotten some measure of power working aboard their prize. As such, everyone did not die a horrible, excruciating death. It would be another week before the Cortez was capable of propulsion, however, and the remaining crew decided on a vote to determine who would be captain for the suicidal exit out of the Spire fields. Tsualn was chosen by virtue that everyone was dead certain she wouldn’t backstab them and by the fact that she had practically no ambitions as far as they were aware. The journey was suicidal anyways, so most figured it wouldn’t matter.

The exit out of the field would indeed by suicidal as halfway through the careful maneuvers those same pirates who had hired them returned in several vessels. They demanded that the Cortez be handed over and that they would let the remaining salvagers be on their way; on asked if they would get a ride back to Port Dusk, there was no reply. It was pretty obvious that everyone expected to be double crossed at this point, that the pirates thought they were going to lose their ship and the salvagers thought they were going to be spaced because it’d save the pirates a lot of money. And so, Tsualn opened fire and caused the simultaneous detonation of around six mines, two reactor cores, and one unstable jump drive. The fireworks show breached everyone’s hulls, killing or disabling the pirate ships, and made the Cortex vent out three decks. Finishing the pirates off through heavy fire, the heavy cruiser limped away from that rather expansive hole that had been left.

Since that point, the Cortex has operated as one of the most heavy haulers, taking on jobs into the expanse regions that few other ships could handle. Her heavy armor and shielding allows the ship to shrug off what others might consider nearly mortal blows and the still-limited firepower has kept the heavy cruiser off most radars. Crew has mainly been accumulated through various organizations, Tsualn offering up a place for debtors to try to pay off what they owe to the more unsavory individuals on the rim. More recently, however, her captain has developed a keen interest in taking the ship out into the great unknown, to find something of her own in just a little way, and has pre-positioned the Cortez at Sathas.

Built under Proxima Shipyards in the Imperium Galaxis, the 933 meter long Cortez and her sister vessels are some of the oldest ships to remain in continuous service through various organizations. Powered by four massive drives, the vessels are lacking in sublight speed and armament in comparison to alien equivalents, capable of taking a beating and coming back. Generally finding service in smaller nation-states as a mobile platform to conduct patrol operations, her shuttle bay is suited towards that task as it’s able to carry two full squadrons of fighters. In private hands, some privateers use modified variants as heavy capital ships, engaging pirate installations head-on and succeeding more often than not. This vessel, however, is not one of those vessels, holding no atmosphere on most of her decks and having still major damage to most weapons systems.

                Keelima
After being half-colonized by a half dozen atmospheric domes connected to a rather substantial station by space tether, the attempt at terraforming said planet went about as smoothly as using chalk as lubricant. After atmospheric seeding resulted in the formation of nearly permanent opaque cloud coverage, an average temperature of 100 Kelvin throughout the year could be observed and the space tether, for it’s worth, completely disintegrated at one point due to freezing-over and shattering. The resulting station crash claimed several million lives as it impacted one of those same atmospheric domes. Since then, Keelima has been swept under the rug after rights for most of the minable surface were wholesale sold to Tienne Corp. Since that point, Keelima has been mostly used as a mining planet in total, with little to no population growth due to a lack of space to expand and the fact that Tienne Corp spends absolutely nothing to put down more atmospheric domes.

              Are there any other backgrounds?

Cause I have a character idea, but none of the backgrounds fit properly(mainly the starting ships)

My character idea was a member of a nomadic tribe(kind of like Gypsies, Amish, etc).
