TASK FORCE AEGIS MILITARY PERSONNEL FILE CONFIDENTIAL - DESTROY UPON COMPROMISE
"Task Force Aegis" is a "Research & Development" Department of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Basic Information
Name: Sogand Najafi
Appearance: Stands at about 5'5", 120 pounds, lean build
Gender: Female
Date of Birth: 03/17/1994
Nationality: Canadian
Place of Birth: Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Strengths:
Multilingual - Speaks English, Farsi and Arabic, has a functional knowledge of French and Kurdish as well.

Detail Oriented - Intelligence work involves seeking out the smallest bits of information out of sources that seem irrelevant at first glance. In the field, this translates into noticing small details which others may miss.
Weaknesses:
Inexperienced - She's been in the field with special forces, but only became an actual special operator quite recently. May hit her psychological limit before others. Feels less competent than other operators in the task force

Perfectionist - While this can be a positive in some cases, it causes her to feel incredibly guilty and disappointed in herself if she makes a mistake
Military Information
Role in the Task Force Aegis: Intelligence Specialist/Rifleman
Military Rank: Master Corporal (OR-5)
Past Combat Experience:
Canadian Forces Intelligence Branch - 4 years, mostly spent attached to JTF2 and CSOR on operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria
Canadian Special Operations Regiment - 2 years, deployments in Iraq and Syria

Sig P226
Disposable rocket launcher (AT4 or M72 depending on mission and level of enemy armoured threat, may not be carried if felt unnecessary)
Spiritus Systems LV119 with level 3 plates
Opscore FAST helmet
Night vision equipment
7.62mm and 9mm suppressors
2x M67 frag grenades
2x M18 smoke grenades
Personal equipment (MREs, hydration carrier, IFAK, etc)
Compact digital camera
Ruggedized smart phone
Additional Information
Likes: Coffee, cats, Canadian politics, reading
Dislikes: Country music, racists, dogs
Fears: Making the wrong call, teammates or innocent people dying because her intel was bad
Personality: While hardened by the realities of the battlefield, Sogand remains a relatively positive and optimistic person who truly cares about others.
Immediate Family: Hossein Najafi (Father), Fatemeh Najafi (Mother), Anahita Najafi (Sister, older), Parsa Najafi (Brother, younger)
Biography: The child of Iranian immigrants, and their first child born in Canada, Sogand grew up feeling mildly confused about her identity. Additionally, her parents often saw her as an afterthought, giving more attention to her older sister and younger brother. From a young age she decided to work hard in school hoping her parents would pay attention to her if her grades were better than her siblings. She especially excelled in social studies, and also took French classes where she did well. This worked to an extent, but she was still confused about her identity. She didn't feel Iranian enough for her family, yet also didn't feel Canadian enough for other Canadians. She went through high school having some difficulty making friends as a result.

Sogand planned to go to university to study political science after graduating high school. However, she would be left on her own for the cost. He parents had already helped her older sister through an undergraduate degree, and were trying to save money to help pay for whatever her brother decided to do when he finished school. Not wanting to take out student loans, Sogand looked into joining the Canadian military to help pay her way through university. She initially planned to join a local Canadian Army reserve regiment while attending university but was convinced be recruiting personnel to enlist as an intelligence specialist in the regular force. Someone, somewhere knew she fluently spoke Farsi and decided she would be an asset in military intelligence. She just had to do a few years and her post secondary education would be paid for. She'd get to learn to speak Arabic she was told. Her job would mostly involve sitting at a desk, or so she thought.

The next few years were spent jumping between Canada, Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. She was attached to JTF2 and CSOR teams and often went out in the field with them. As a woman in conservative Islamic society, she could go places and talk to people which the male operators could not. She could gain vital intelligence in the field that may not have been obtainable without her, allowing the door-kickers to carry out effective missions against insurgents. Unfortunately, intelligence work in the field sometimes resulted in combat. Her first exposure to enemy fire was an ambush by the Taliban while conducting a patrol through an Afghan village alongside a team of CSOR operators. When the shooting stopped, the operators couldn't find her and thought she had been taken by the enemy. They found her sitting against the wall of a house, terrified to move. The CSOR operators took it upon themselves to help her react better to combat. By the time her four year term was up, she was keeping up with the CSOR guys she deployed with. Keeping up with the JTF2 guys on the other hand was a little much to ask, but she tried her best.

Sogand had come to like the military, but still planned to leave. She only wanted to pay for university. But people pushed for her to stay. She was useful, she could keep up with the special forces guys, she was a good at collecting and analyzing intelligence. She helped put a lot of bad guys in the ground or in prison. She was even offered a chance to join CSOR if she stayed in the military. Her commanding officers in the intelligence branch strongly recommended she take this offer, as being recruited into any Canadian special forces unit is a privilege few get. She accepted the offer. Not much changed in regards to her job in the military, only now she got to be on the direct action teams that would act on the intelligence she collected.

Recently, Task Force Aegis came to CANSOFCOM looking for new recruits. Sogand was transferred to the task force partly because Canada specifically was being asked to commit more personnel, partly because the task force was looking for someone specialized in intelligence collection and analysis

Sorry brother, this is gonna be a lil' harsh.

You didn't submit enough RP examples, and the one that you did, I wasn't the biggest of fans of. There's a couple of issues with your character's background as well, just simply being a "communications officer" isn't enough to get employed by a highly classified, top secret special forces unit that doesn't even exist in the public eye. I don't really see a reason for there being a designated communications/technical support role when the entire team is supposed to be able to function independently, and every member is supposed to be able to pick up each other's slack somewhat.

Again, sorry man. Nothing against you, it's all professional.

REJECTED.

Let's go with a full-day. Insertions were all solo/in pairs to avoid suspicion as well as everyone inserted from different locations with the safehouse as the rendezvous.

Hey sorry for not submitting my app! I thought I’d be getting my replacement laptop a lot sooner, but evidently not. I’ll try to get something up with mobile though.

Since the operations don't require the entire task force which operatives are on the current operation?

Not the OP but I think what he is trying to convey is that anyone can be deployed, but only the team leader is essential so that if someone goes inactive, the RP can continue with the other operators.

Essentially until the first act of the operation is posted, the operation is open for you to join. You'll have to make an IC post in the Safehouse thread for you to be considered "deployed" in the op, meaning you'd be unable to join any other ops until the one you're on is finished.
