What? I didn't dictate the actions of anyone's units.

Actions of enemy forces have been agreed upon by Acer and I posted from the Morridane Point of View; they do not know the status of the Cadians and have not been able to contact them.

Not what I mean. I mean that you said that no contact was established with the cadians, but I specifically had them interact with the AFVs.

Misread, didn't realise your guys had moved across the bridge.

That said, may guys aren't on the bridge itself...just by it.

Regimental Section
Name of Regiment: 6th Vostroyan Firstborn Regiment
Type of Regiment: Line Infantry
Planet of Origin: Vostroya
Length of Service and founding year: 10,417 | 020.M31
Regimental biography: As with most Vostroyan Firstborn formations, the 6th Regiment was founded following the Horus Heresy as a form of repayment to the Emperor for refusing to raise arms against the Traitor Legions during the Heresy. Throughout its long history, the 6th Regiment mostly served along the outer fringes of the Segmentum Ultima and has spent a lot of time fighting against the various Ork Empires that occasionally spring in that Segmentum and particularly the Ork Empire of Charadon. Their most notable achievements that came from fighting the Orks are the Battle of Hel and the Assault on Vanargand.

The Battle of Hel and the Assault on Vanrgand were both a part of the wider Angrboda Offensive against the Charadon Orks. The objective of this offensive was to destroy a large stockpile of Ork 'shootas' as well other weapons and equipment, as well as hinder the Orks' ability to build replacements through capturing several extraction hubs. This was all done to weaken the Orks for an upcoming campaign aimed at destroying the Ork Empire of Charadon. The offensive opened with the Battle of Hel, a world that had large deposits of iron and tungsten. During the battle, the 6th Regiment hold out on its own against a force of twice its number, whilst defending the flank of the rest of the Imperial forces. During this engagement the 6th Regiment only losses were only in the tens of thousands, meanwhile the opposing force was nearly fully wiped out.

The Assault on Vanargand refers to an attack on the main headquarters of one of the Ork Empire's most powerful Warbosses and had quite numerous stocks of weapons. The Assault was more of a raid, meant to destroy the stocks by any means necessary. After drop troops secured a suitable landing site, the 6th Regiment was able to destroy its objectives quickly and effectively while only taking minimal casualties before leaving the planet's surface. Unfortunately, the Assault as a whole did succeed, only half of the stocks were destroyed before the remaining units were overran or forced to withdraw due to heavy resistance.

There have been multiple occasions on which the 6th Regiment has been deployed elsewhere, most notably during the Ayavin Crusade, where the Regiment was tasked with garrisoning systems in the case of an enemy counter-attack. This resulted with the Defence of Vinruy following a retreat on the Crusade's flank. During this battle, the 6th Regiment lost many men, however it still stood firm until Space Marines could arrive and repel the attack fully.

Regiment Organizational Structure: The Regiment itself is around 300,000 strong, and is divided into 3 battalions. Each battalion is around 100,000 strong, and is divided into 5 companies. Each company is around 20,000 strong, and is divided into 20 platoons. Each platoon is around 1000 strong, and is divided into 50 squaqs. Each squad is 20 strong, and consists of a Squad Leader, a Squad Second-in-Command, a Chief Lascannoner, an Assistant Lascannoner, a Lascannon Ammo Carrier, a 1st Marksman, a 1st Assistant Marksman, a 2nd Marksman, a 2nd Assistant Marksman, a Multi-Melta Operator, an Assistant Multi-Melta Operator, a Scout and 8 Riflemen. The Riflemen, Squad Leader, Squad Second-in-Command and Scout are all equipped in a similar manner, Vostroyan Pattern Lasgun, Flak Armour and so on, but the Squad Second-in-Command also carries long-range communication equipment for eh... long-range communication. The Chief Lascannoner carries and fires a deployable Lascannon, the Assistant Lascannoner helps set up the weapon, takes over if the Chief Lascannoner is unable to use the weapon and loads the ammunition, which is carried by the Lascannon Ammo Carrier, or 2nd Assistant Lascannoner. Both Assistants are armed with a Laspistol. The Marksmen are divided into to teams, each with a Marksman and Assistant Marksman. The Assistant Marksman acts as a spotter for the Marksman, and vice versa should the circumstances demand it. The Multi-Melta team functions similarly to the Lascannon team, but without a desgnated Ammo Carrier, whose role is merged with that of Assistant. The Scout's purpose is to survey the area around the squad should it be desired by either the Squad Leader or Squad Second-in-Command.

Personal Affects (Trinkets, jewelry, things soldiers might bring with them): Inherited copy of Treatis Elatii
Biography: Lev Voronesky hails from a family that is from the somewhat lower rungs of Vostroyan nobility, and being his parents' firstborn, he was destined to join the Imperial Guard. Thus his education had a heavy focus on military matters, particularly strategy and tactics, since he would be enrolled as an officer on account of his high-birth. His father was very stern, not helped by the family's neverending financial problems, inherited from Lev's grandfather, an avid, if not successful gambler. At age 12, we was sent to begin his military career as a cadet. The day Lev left was the only time he saw his father cry, a single tear of happiness, of pride for his son fulfilling his duty, rolled down his cheek.

During his training he made many friends, other would-be heirs who were proud to set aside what would otherwise be rightfully theirs, titles and land, in exchange for a chance to repay their ancestors' debts to Imperium. They trained rigorously in the cold, within the husks of abandoned manufactoria, and learnt the art of war. Everything from firing a rifle to organising logistics for a whole regiment were drilled in to him in the space of three years. When he turned 15, it came time for Lev to get his deployment and the Captain of the 6th Regiment's 2nd Battalion's 4th Company was in need of an adjutant, and so Lev was sent to the 6th Vostroyan Firstborn Regiment as one of the reinforcements, and would never see any of the friends he made in training ever again.

Things did not go perfectly, far from it in fact. The 6th Vostroyan, at the time of Lev's arrival, formed part of the garrison of a planet very close to the frontlines. The other part of this garrison consisted of the 12th Nouvelle-Terre Regiment. Tensions were high between the two regiments, as the Vostroyans saw the Nouvelle-Terrenans as less devoted than themselves. This was worsened by the fact that the Vostroyans had grown restless without seeing combat. After having a bit too much razhvod to drink, Lev led a small group of soldiers into a Nouvelle-Terrenan camp and caused a brawl, with fortunately no casualties. The commander of the 12th Nouvelle-Terre demanded Lev's execution for instigating the fight and for treason. Fortunately, a report on the incident ended up landing on the desk of the commander of the 6th Vostroyan, a Colonel Maxim Nyedzvetzyn. The Colonel recognised the name Voronesky, and upon calling Lev to his headquarters, he recognised his face too. A few years prior, when the 6th were briefly garrisoning Vostroya, the then-Major Maxim was able to secure leave to visit his family, including his cousins, the Voroneskys, where he ended up meeting Lev. Following the revelation, Nyedzvetzyn placed Lev under his personal care, he was family after all. Maxim replied to the commander that Lev would be put under strict watch by the Colonel himself, which he begrudgingly accepted as fair punishment, oblivious of Lev's relation to Nyedzvetzyn.

After barely two years as an adjutant, Nyedzvetzyn helped Lev secure his first commission, as commander of a platoon. However this was not only due to family ties, Nyedzvetzyn was genuinely impressed by Lev's abilities. Voronesky executed his role with great skill and efficiency, only hindered in advancing further by the lack of open positions above him. By his 30th birthday, Lev Voronesky was the Major of the 6th Regiment's 1st Battalion. Following the death of Nyedzvetzyn, Lev was made the Colonel of the 6th Vostroyan Firstborn Regiment at age 39. This was part of Nyedzvetzyn's testament, and no-one in the Regiment opposed it, so Nyedzvetzyn and Voronesky were respected.

Length of Service and founding year: 430 years, 809.M40
Regimental biography:
Formed as part of the counteroffensive to crush WAAAAGH! Blitzsmasha, the Cortharian Tank Hunters specialize in armored warfare, using localized variants of the Leman Russ and Macharius heavy tank engage enemy fast attack and armor. In 779.M40, the Ork Mekboss Zorgmut Nag Ur Blitzsmasha made landfall on the planet Corthar IV. His WAAAGH! primarily consisted of mechanized, heavy armor, and several speed freak cults acting as screens and fast attack elements. The initial invasion caught the planet off guard, with several regiments of PDF being cut apart and annihilated from the sheer volume work machinery. Corthar IVs topography, primarily flat, rolling plains, did little to aid the PDF as any fortifications could easily be bypassed or surrounded by the WAAAAGH. Soon, Hive cities across the planet were under siege by the green horde, with two falling after the first assault. Those hives that were either situated in one of the few mountain ranges on the planet or had ample time to prepare, faired better, utilizing terrain or the sheer volume of Hive Auxilia to blunt or throwback any Ork assault.

During this time, system command under then Major General Hugo van Buresh formed a localized relief force consisting of regiments raised from other planets in the system as well as those from neighboring systems to push back the Green tide. Local Imperial Navy elements were able to pull ork ships out of orbit around the planet, allowing the bulk landers to ferry the Astra Militarum regiments down to the planet where they engaged forward elements of the Speed Freaks band led by Urgob Lootsmasha. The initial engagement threatened to overrun the landing zone, but as more Astra Militarum reinforcements made planetfall, the Speed Freak assault was quickly blunted and turned back leading to an overall route after Lootsmasha was crushed under a Macharius heavy tank. Once the landing ground was secure and orbital supremacy established, Imperial forces set to crushing Blitzsmasha's WAAAAGH! and burning the bodies before they could begin to germinate.

Eventually, the WAAAGH was defeated and the Orkz fled the Corthar system with Blitzsmasha's demise remaining unconfirmed as the Imperial forces began to rebuild and cleanse the planet of Ork taint. Fortunately for the citizens of Corthar IV, Ork spores were few and far between with only sporadic reports of ferals roaming the plains that were deemed low priority. Shortly after liberation, the 1st Cortharian Tank Hunters were formed with the purpose to fight more effectively on the plains environment that dominated Corthar. The Tank Hunters took part in regional crusades, fighting against Xenos, Secessionist, and Xenos threats, though their claim to fame comes from the 2nd defense of Corthar.

In late M.40, an Iron Warriors Warband led by Warsmith Turkaw attacked the world, seeking to enslave the population of the world and bring them back to Medrengard for fodder for their war machines. However, by this time, the Cortharian Tank Hunters were well established as a disciplined and experience regiment, with two training regiments stationed on the planet at all times. In 997, M.40, the 288th, and 153rd Cortharian Tank Hunters engaged the traitor forces near Hive Athania, keeping under cover of the Hive's heavy guns as a way to even the odds against the ruthless and disciplined traitor marines. Even with this advantage, the 153rd was savaged to the point of combat ineffective, cut down below 30% combat effectiveness while 288th was all but annihilated by the daemonic engines possessed by Turkaw's Warband. However, the Iron Warriors suffered heavy casualties, losing dozens of daemonic engines and vehicles during combat as well as losing about 40% of their combat effectiveness.

However, due to the stalling action of the 228th and 153rd, the Iron Warriors were delayed long enough for PDF Forces to mobilize outside Hive Chernabog and begin a mounting a counteroffensive to push the traitors off the planet before they had a chance to entrench. Warsmith Turkaw hadn't expected the denizens of Corthar IV to put up fierce resistance and had expected to sweep any foes aside with ease. So, when he found his forces engaged by two armored regiments, he found he had woefully underestimated the tenacity of the PDF and suffered dearly for it. Fortunately for the PDF forces sent to drive out the Iron Warriors, Turkaw was still in the process of reorganizing and reforming his raiding force, and was caught by surprise when artillery began landing in and around his improvised fortifications. The barrage started off with just mortars and light regimental guns but quickly grew as the heavy guns of Hive Athania were roused and sighted on the traitors. The Iron Warriors were unable to break out of their positions as the PDF forces used the barrage to surround traitors and used heavy stubbers and bolters to rake the trench lines, dissuading all but the bravest of traitors from peaking over the top.

This barrage lasted the rest of the day and well into the night as it turned into a dual between the few heavy guns the traitors brought with them and the guns of the PDF and hive. Early the next morning, the first of several assaults started with several thousand guardsmen and Hive Auxilia rushing the forward-most positions of the traitors. These initial assaults gained little ground as the traitors used the night to try to improve their improvised and tenuous positions, most of the guardsmen died making their way across no-man's land, with the few making it barely able to keep ahold of any ground gained during the assaults. The final assault came just before dark as the heavy guns of Hive Athania once again opened up on the Iron Warriors, though instead of an infantry assault following it, the remaining tanks of the 153rd rode out of the hive, tank shocking enemy positions as PDF infantry rushed behind them, blasting apart fortifications with battle cannons, grenades, and rockets. Those that weren't reduced to rubble were then hosed down with flamers as the armored assault broke through the first and second lines of fortifications.

In a moment of desperation, Turkaw unleashed the rest of his armor and daemonic engines on the Imperials, Venom Crawlers, Mauler Fiends, and even a Soul Grinder rushed forth from the final line of defense. His hope that this massed assault of demonic flesh and steal would blunt the fury and tenacity of the assault were quickly dashed as the first salvo of battle cannons ripped through the Chaos horde. Anti-armor rockets and pintle-mounted weapons fired next, peppering and blasting apart the horrid creatures as they drew closer to the Imperials. By the time the monstrosities reached the tanks of the 153rd, their numbers were greatly reduced and their forms were broken and crushed under the weight of the 153rd's heavy armor. The battle ended soon after with the remaining Iron Warriors fleeing the world, though several transports were shot down by Imperial Aeronautica formations as they tried to reach orbit.

The Cortharian PDF was victorious, though heavy losses and the near-total destruction of two training regiments made it seem pyrrhic at best. The world recovered and those that survived were quickly drafted into the Imperial guard, adding much-needed experience to those regiments of Cortharian Tank Hunters already in service.

Sweillia, the only problems with your post are that my general is currently in combat in the lower levels of the tower, and that the east tower is also being shelled by enemy armor. You could speak to Colonel Valirie Rendalos on the upper floors though.

What's the situation on Fort Travium, and the response to the bombardment?

The return artillery looks rather indirect, but the rebel militia planned to fire for as long as foreseeably possible before trying to retreat.

I ask because of the refugee situation at Fort Trav and all the garrisoned forces meant to assist in vetting them. From my position, despite the difficulties faced at the Eastern Tower against the Telrade, and western Tower against the Vostroyan- Fort Travium will be getting a good molly whop?

I'm kinda in the dark on Loyalist responses atm.

Personal Affects (Trinkets, jewelry, things soldiers might bring with them):
Biography: Emmett was the second-born son of Caleb Mcguire, Chieftain of Clan Mcguire, and thus had low expectations of inheriting his father's title. He opted to join the PDF, thanks to his family's standing he was able to enlist as an officer cadet and showed great promise as a commander. Five years later he gained a promotion to Captain and was part of the 198th Battalion of the Morridane Darkwatch when it was tithed to the Imperial Guard. His first action was against Orks, a foe that he would come to fight on many occasions in the decades to come, during the Lycaon Reclamation where he soon proved his worth as a capable commander.

Over the decades that followed, Mcguire fought many of the Imperium's enemies and gradually climbed the ranks. Six years prior to the Korinthia Crusade, Mcguire gained the rank of Brigadier and command over the 5th Brigade.

The Morridane Darkwatch

The Darkwatch is another component of Morrdh's PDF; whereas the Rovers are a mobile reconnaissance force that conduct patrols of Morrdh's surface, the Darkwatch is more of a static force tasked with defending Morrdh's various settlements from both on- and off-worlds threats.

Due to its role on its homeworld, the Darkwatch is classified as Siege Infantry by the Departmento Munitorum and is normally deployed to warzones where siege warfare is expected.

Regimental History

The 5th Brigade was first formed in the middle of M38, giving it a long and glorious service in the name of the God-Emperor. Though over the centuries losses have seen it being disbanded and reformed countless times, its current incarnation having been in existence for close to a hundred years.

Most famous action of the 5th Brigade is the Defence of Fort Europa during the Bauhaus IV Campaign in 741.M39. Imperial forces had been hastily deployed to halt the advance of an Ork Waaaagh! that was rampaging through the sub-sector at that time; the Morridanes in particular were ordered to bolster PDF units at Fort Europa, part of a ring of defences round the planetary capital, as the PDF had been depleted from a mass tithing a couple of years earlier and was still understrength despite an aggressive recruitment campaign. Most of the PDF troopers were fresh-faced recruits, meaning the veteran Imperial Guard forces would have to form the backbone of the planet's defence when the Greenskins invaded.

Invade the Greenskins did.

Barely a week after the Morridanes had been deployed that the Orks smashed through the Navy's outer blockade and descended upon the planet en mass. The beleaguered Imperial defenders were hard pressed to hold back the Green Tide and soon the Imperial lines were shattered leaving isolated pockets of resistance. Fort Europa became one of these bastions, especially after a large number of PDF troopers broke ranks rather than face the horde bearing down upon them. The 5th Brigade found itself as the sole defender of Fort Europa and prepared for a prolonged siege with relief a distant uncertainty.

Grim news flowed in over the coming days as the various Imperial strongholds fell one-by-one to the Ork onslaught, leaving Fort Europa and a couple of others as the sole beacons of Imperial defence on the entire planet. Time and time again the Greenskins assaulted Fort Europa, the Morridanes stubbornly defending the fort's stout walls. A breach in the walls was finally forced by the Orks, but the Morridanes stubbornly held their ground. The Battle of the Breach, as it became known, raged for three days as the Morridanes sought to use the Greenskin's superior numbers against and managed to push them back long enough for the breach to be closed.

Relief finally came when an Astartes strike team took out the Ork Warboss, leaving the Green Horde in disarray in readiness for a counter-assault by a newly arrived Imperial army. The Morridanes, despite suffering horrendous casualties, managed to hold onto one of the few reaming Imperial strong points and gladly stood down when the relief force arrived. The action would be commemorated by the inclusion of a 'Fort Europa' battle honour on the Brigade's banner.

Name of Regiment: 209th Charnisi Cuirassiers
Type of Regiment: Armoured Regiment
Planet of Origin: Charnis
Length of Service and Founding Year: ca.M31(Imperial Reformation)
Regimental Biography:
Formed from the remnants of two Imperial Army armored divisions in the Imperial Reformation period, the 209th would take on the moniker of Charnis, one the Imperium’s oldest worlds, by virtue of both divisions having been raised on that planet. During the 1st Black Crusade, when the Despoiler drew his Black Legions against many an Imperial world, the newly formed 209th found itself within the Segmentum Obscurus on the Agri-World of Khiminan. Supporting the PDF infantry, the Regiment would rapidly become depleted as they came across Daemonic forces time and time again. Eventually both they and the PDF would retreat to the planetary capital, turning the battle into a brutal block-to-block fight. When Astra Militarum reinforcements finally arrived, the total fieldable force of the 209th was barely that of an Armored Company, nevermind that of a full Regiment.

They would be attached to, but not officially and completely integrated and certainly not culturally integrated, the Cadian 12th, where over the years the 209th would gradually replenish its ranks via requisitions from the Munitorum. Fighting alongside their Cadian brethren, a penchant for more fluid combat and reputation for pushing forward the lines where others might not would be garnered. They would be deployed, time and time again, upon the flanks of a force where they might do the most good, engaging the foe. In time, the 209th finally stood as a full-strength Regiment, though only after nearly a millennium of combat attached to the Cadian. By that period, the Regiment had kept its culture only through a stubborn nature given from parent to child, a dislike for the other even if the other was a Cadian, and had been kept intact as a separate Regiment only due to the facts of their tactical differences with the Cadians. While the highest Departmento Administratum official might have not cared for the differences between the two, the 209th was not at all within their purview or opinion and lower ranking officials were far more sympathetic or pragmatic in their dealings.

Upon their full strength nature and moved due to the vast populaces within that Segmentum, they served primarily along the Segmentum Ultima against Ork clans, utilizing their superior vox skills against the brutish and often uncoordinated enemy. Ambushes against the greenskins are popular for the Regiment, especially against their Killa Kan, Deff Dread, and Stompa units due to the enemy weak points. Destruction of legs by Vanquisher tank hunters was a necessity, followed by a barrage from the nearby Company, and in this manner they secured many kills. It would be a rare time for the unit to encounter something to the scale of a Gargant, though whenever such a thing would occur heavier ordinance would be called upon and the 209th would, rather quietly, maneuver to engage more suitable targets.

Engagements against Chaos would prove blessedly few, for the Regiment held little wish to see what might have been friends, family, or mere acquaintances turned traitor by the Ruinous Powers. Those engagements that would occur would be met with a fierce nature, the fury of the 209th cold and calculated. A notable engagement against that enemy would occur when the collective fury and bloodshed of seven Weirdboyz during the Battle of Colidonis would summon a group of Daemonettes. The 2nd Company of the 209th engaged those Daemons with their long-ranged cannon even as the Orks turned against those they had accidentally summoned. The conflict on the planet itself would resolve in an indisputable Imperial victory, partially due to the fact that the initial Ork party was only wishing to raid and partially due to the arrival of the 53rd Krieg, experts in gas and promethium warfare. During that conflict, experts from the 53rd convened with those Tech-Priests attached at that time to the 209th and dramatically aided the unit with the addition of gas warfare and, to a lesser degree, incendiary warfare through promethium charges in those launchers. The 209th would, in that form, aid the Kriegers in the destruction of any and all taints of Ork spores across the world. Following the battle, the tank crews of the 2nd were questioned by an Inquisitor and cleared of any taint of Chaos.

Their participation in the Angrboda Offensive, that massed attack against the Ork empire of Charadon, would be limited to only the Battle of Hel where Imperial forces struck at the enemy. Supporting one of the pushes into Ork held territory, they would find themselves on the front line when the 77th Minervan Tank Legion was utterly annihilated in an Ork counterattack. Ordered to retake the ground that Legion had once occupied, the 209th rapidly advanced against the enemy, taking multiple Killa Kan and Battlewagon units by surprise and destroying many at close range. Coming upon their objective, tankers of the 3rd Company would spot the incapacitated Forefather, one of the Hellhammer tanks assigned to the destroyed 77th. The Charnisi CO ordered the tanks to secure the area about that behemoth, cleaning the Hellhammer’s outer hull of Grots parading, and awaited for Tech-Priests to come and give aid in resurrecting the lost hulk. Upon their arrival and re-tracking of the vehicle with the aid of tankers from the 3rd Company, tankers of that same Company operate the Forefather with the blessing of those Tech-Priests present and continue to hold the position. Shortly thereafter, an Ork counteroffensive struck against the 209th where, with the significant aid of the Hellhammer and the undermanned Leman Russes firing from concealed positions, the Regiment held. Following the Battle of Hel, the Charnisi CO petitioned for the addition of that Hellhammer into his ranks which, seeing as the 77th no longer existed, was allowed.

Since that point, the Charnisi have been characterized by most as forever seeking ultimate, total armor protection, forever seeking total information supremacy in regards to enemy composition, armor schemes, and deployment, and engaging the enemy at either exceptionally long range, where supposed Imperial accuracy would give them the advantage, or exceptionally short range, where superior armor protection would give the 209th the edge. Their doctrine is often preferring the long range warfare of the field, where their own tanks can maneuver against the flanks of the enemy and their Vanquishers can partially envelop the enemy. However, when forced into close quarters combat against enemy armor and infantry the Charnisi still retain their edge, utilizing massed gas canister barrages to destroy visibility while firing canister shot.
Regiment Organizational Structure:
    Total Personnel: 310

    Command Element:
1x Hellhammer Super Heavy Tank Forefather - TITAN
Intended to be the command vehicle for the Regimental CO, this Hellhammer has been upgraded in order to provide a full tactical picture to the same as well as a full capability to coordinate effectively with elements within his Regiment and other Regiments nearby. To this end, with both the blessings, prayers, and actions of the Adeptus Mechanicus the vehicle has been refitted with high fidelity Master-Vox arrays, a Vox radio mast standing at 10 meters tall which may be lowered, as well as an interior command station. This command station is capable of receiving sensor data from warships in orbit and uses such information to display a real time map of friendly troop units as well as individual tank units within the Regiment. To further amplify this capability, Augur arrays have been mounted to the vehicle’s turret, enabling a full sensor reading at distances up to three kilometers. In addition to this, extra armor plating, Immids, and armored skirts have been added have been built on to the vehicle, increasing overall weight from 314 tons to 320 tons. The vehicle’s engine has been summarily upgraded to handle this strain, keeping the blistering 25 kph top speed in order to keep with the Regiment as a whole. Armament has been modified, with the Hellhammer cannon, co-axial Autocannons, the hull-mounted Demolisher cannon, 1 co-axial Autocannon, 1 hull-mounted twin-linked Heavy Bolter, 4 sponson-mounted Twin-linked Heavy Bolters, and 2 top sponson-mounted Multi-lasers. Gas canister launchers have been mounted to both the turret and forward hull, allowing for the deployment of nerve agents or simple smoke. In keeping with the Charnisi tradition, the vehicle is equipped for CBR environments.
      1x Chimera AFV
As the Regiment’s mobile headquarters, the Chimera has been modified with additional armor plating to ensure it’s survival in the battlefields where even the rear can be the frontlines. With two Heavy Stubbers pintle mounted, smoke canister launchers have also been equipped both to the forward hull and the turret area itself. Vox arrays, like the Command MBT, have also been mounted to the Chimera in accordance with the blessings, prayers, and actions of the Adeptus Mechanicus. This vehicle is equipped for CBR environments.
    1st Company - RAIDER:
1x Charnis-Pattern Leman Russ Command Tank
Modified along the same lines as the Charnis-Pattern Leman Russ MBT, the only difference between the two is the addition of enhanced Vox equipment in order to keep in contact with the main command element as well as the Company itself. This equipment is highly visible as a large set of three antenna jut from the rear of the turret.
      11x Charnis-Pattern Leman Russ MBT
Modified under the so-called Charnis-Pattern, these MBTs have been upgraded with heavier armor and a coating of a special chemical coating known to the crews as Immids after the technician who requisitioned, derived, and combined the materials needed into an effective coating to defeat magnetic mines. In addition to this, armored skirts have been added in order to defeat shaped charge AT weaponry, primarily those employed by infantry. Due to these additions, the MBT suffers in the realm of speed and as such can be considered notably inferior to the standard Leman Russ in breaking enemy lines. The sponson weapons for these Leman Russes have been modified to hold multi-lasers, giving the tanks a heavy punch against infantry and light armor. The turret mounted pintle for a secondary weapon has been replaced with a manually operated lightly armored gun turret, octagonal and open at the top with a lascannon and a series of seven viewports situated about the gunner. Gas canister launchers have been added to the tank in order to provide for both cover and the ability to clear-out urban areas with toxic clouds and, as such, these tanks are equipped to handle CBR environments.
    2nd Company - HUNTER:3rd Company - SAGA:4th Hunter-Killer - ASSASSIN:
      5x Leman Russ Vanquisher
Modified from their original designs, much like the Leman Russ MBTs of the Regiment these vehicles are armored with thicker hull plating on the forward armor sections and a coating of Immids on all outer vehicle surfaces. Armored skirts are not added due to the issue of weight and the resultant lack of speed, which is considered paramount for the survival of these tank destroyers. Smoke launcher systems are included and these tanks are proofed in the survival of CBR environments. A single heavy stubber pintle mount is added to the vehicles. To aid a relatively unchanged armament, these tanks are also equipped by the Adeptus Mechanicus with a high power Auspex Surveyor as a secondary aiming device to the primary, enabling target acquisition to exceptional ranges, through such things as light debris. An improved Vox Array is installed in these tank hunters in order to increase the coordination of the wolfpack tactics, though in order to keep survivability the mast is not equipped to these units.
    Reconnaissance Element - FORGER:
      3x Sentinel
Expected to operate in advance of the Regiment as a whole, these Sentinels are equipped to engage enemy infantry and light armor as well as provide for that intelligence they are expected to supply. With large Vox antenna as well as remote video equipment, they are able to transfer vital visual information across large swathes of terrain. The cabin, in order to keep the vehicle in operation, is largely enclosed and protected against small arms fire, dissuading most forms of ambush, while the armaments of the Sentinels are largely changed from that of a usual unit. Two seven-missile pods flank the cabin, lower than usual as to allow pilot vision, with each missile comparable to one of a Achillan Mk III "Tread Fether" Missile Launcher used by usual Imperial Guard units. A fixed set of twin multi-lasers is mounted underneath the Sentinel cabin. These units are equipped with smoke grenade launchers, though are not completely CBR proofed in order to keep weight acceptable.
      12x Dirtcycle
Deployed for reconnaissance in areas deemed not so hazardous as to warrant the squadron of Sentinels, these fast vehicles maneuver over the battlefield terrain at blistering speed. Unarmored, they rely on this speed for survival against long range enemy fire, while the dirtcycles are furthermore unarmed due to the added weight of such equipment. Due to these twin lackings, they are most often deployed singly for the deployment of static Augur relay stations on worlds where the Imperium’s presence is not enough to warrant fleet activity or supremacy, leading to an inability for the use of such fleet vessels as relays themselves. While on worlds where such supremacy exists, they are left with their crews at a rear motor pool along with the Regiment’s sole Chimera.
    Anti-Aircraft Element - SWEEPER:
      3x Hydra Flak Tank
While not as extensively modified as the Leman Russes under the 209th, the Hydras are nonetheless built to exceed their counterparts in other Regiments. With upgraded engines, the vehicles are able to reach speeds up to 120 kph while accurately firing due to their logis-engines. A directed Augur array is mounted on the fore of the turret, allowing it to engage targets at considerable range through most forms of weather while the turret horizontal and vertical drives allow for the turret itself to train onto targets with great ease. The vertical drive has been enhanced to allow for elevation of up to 75 degrees and depression of up to -15 degrees.
Support Element - BUCKET:All Charnisi vehicles are painted in the characteristic brown-light brown-light blue camouflage with distinct lines between each color. The Charnisi Cross (seen above) is painted on the left side of each vehicle turret in a 1 foot by 1 foot square while an iron-gray Imperial Aquila is painted on the right in a similar size. Those vehicles which do not have a turret mount able to sport this instead have the symbols upon their hull, in a similar size. Company distinction is made through small numericals superimposed within the Charnisi Cross in iron-gray.

1x Hellhammer Super Heavy Tank Forefather
    1st Company:
    2nd Company:3rd Company:4th Hunter-Killer:
    Reconnaissance Element:
    Anti-Aircraft Element:
Support Element:All Charnisi vehicles are painted in the characteristic brown-light brown-light blue camouflage with distinct lines between each color.

Character Section
NS Name: Ormata
Character Name: Colonel Sheol Harlan
Age: 97
Sex: Male
Appearance:
Standing at 5’7”, Sheol Harlan is by no great means an especially intimidating individual. With a physique considered acceptable under Imperial Guard standards, broader shoulders and a stout core through constant exercise, he is however not a wastling. His paler skin is not as scarred as most others within the Guard, partially due to the fact that he is a tanker first. Harlan’s black hair is kept moderately long and neat, often tied back in a queue style, pulled back very tight into a single tail, wrapped around a piece of leather and tied down with a ribbon of black fabric. His facial hair is likewise kept.
Planet of Origin: Charnis
Length of Service: 79
Personality:
Calm, contemplative, and endeavoring in his actions to forever destroy the enemy completely, Colonel Harlan is one of the blessed few to care for the method and mannerisms through which a victory might be achieved. Caring for the men and women under his command and for those vehicles under his command, Col. Harlan is fiercely protective of them and their actions and takes specific actions in order to keep any conflicts within the Regiment itself. After all, the loss of such individuals is a deeply felt blow, both to the fighting ability of the unit and to the morale of that unit, and Col. Harlan seeks to limit both affects. That said, he is devoted to the Imperial Truth due to the obvious issues when such a thing is not strictly kept to, when Chaos is allowed to fester, and as such holds little hesitation when such actions occur within his purview. A consummate student, Harlan is always interested in the acquisition of new books to his collection for light reading or, in the case of some, more intense study.
Personal Weapons:
    Godwyn-De'az Pattern Bolt Pistol
    Toldin Pattern Power Fist
Designed for the use of normal humans following the retrieval of an STC along with the Ceres Pattern Bolt Carbine, the Toldin Pattern is smaller and lighter than its Astartes contemporaries with a sufficiently lesser punch. Weighing 7.5 lbs, it is built around a heavy glove with armored fingers and outer hand. While it has been produced in lesser quantities than most other Power Weaponry, this glove has been notable for its ease of usage and reliability, though the opaque field produced is only able to disrupt unarmored matter, be this through Power Armor or the affects of the Warp.
Personal Effects:
    Equipment
      Refractor Field
      Limited Carapace Armor (Breastplate, helmet)
      Micro-bead
      Standard Kit for Charnisi 209th
    Personal Effects
Imperial Aquila Necklace, silver on steel chain
Charnisi Cross Necklace, steel with inlaid silver on steel chain
      Portions of the Tactica Imperium
Portions of the Book of Judgement
      Copy of Dictates Imperialis
      Copy of Treatis Elatii
      Copy of Codex Astartes
Biography:
Born to a Lieutenant Colonel within the Astra Militarum, like many others within the vast confines of the Imperium Harlan’s parents would both die of their own accords. His father died on some distant battlefield, unknown to Harlan, while his mother would pass when the child was only four due to complications with surgery. As such, he would be sent at that age to the Schola Progenium upon his own very world, that of Charnis. That world was old, still is old, dating to the times of the Dark Age of Technology, the Age of Apostasy, and even though it was an Armory World it still laid claim to the fruits of its labors. There, Harlan strove towards betterment, towards becoming better, becoming enthralled both in the Tactica Imperium and the Codex Astartes, though the latter was only to the furthest degree he would be allowed,.and in the end would be selected for work in the Astra Militarum. His first assignment would be in the 209th Charnisi as a Supply Officer and clerk within that Regiment. Working alongside Imperial Naval officers to coordinate supply drops, stationings, and other such minutiae, it would only be the Battle of Villards that Harlan would fire a weapon in anger.

It was five years into his career as a soldier of the Imperium when the 209th was deployed on Villards, a smaller planetoid, along with two other Regiments. An Ork offensive blew through the frontlines and, like all other soldiers, Harlan took up a lasgun and defended his post. For obvious reasons, headquarters sustained 57% casualties before the 2nd Company arrived from the opposite way to reinforce them and drive the Orks back. After a Deff Dread unit incapacitated one of the Leman Russes in that Company through concentrated, close quarters fire on the tanks turret, Harlan made all haste to that unit, recovering one wounded, the Gunner, and one dead, the Commander, from that position. Under moderate fire, he transported the casualty to a Samaritan two hundred meters away before returning to the Russ. Climbing into the turret, he acted as a main Loader for the duration of the combat until Ork units were completely destroyed. Following this event due to the fact that the Regiment lacked any replacements, his service during the combat itself, and the fact that the Regiment didn’t need more supply personnel, Harlan was transferred to the 2nd Company and to that very vehicle as Commander.

Harlan would fight in several battles, at one point having to take command of the Company itself when the command tank’s Vox array was disabled by shrapnel. By the end of the Villards campaign, he would be deemed suitable material for Company command itself. When it came upon his twentieth year in Astra Militarum service, he would be elevated to that glorious position. After several combats following that, without a single loss to his name and Company, after forty years of consistent service Harlan was promoted to Colonel. Since then both he and the 209th has served the Imperium with distinction and capability.

Name of Regiment: 774th Charnisi Legion
Type of Regiment: Heavy Infantry Regiment
Planet of Origin: Charnis
Length of Service and Founding Year: 259.M39
Regimental Biography:
Raised relatively recently, the 774th was drawn from those shock battalions within the Charnisi Home Guard. These troops were already highly trained troops supplied by Charnis herself with a pre-existing officer corps and, as a result of this, were deployed in rapid order, though only rapidly in accordance to the needs of the Imperium as a whole. Their first deployment would occur in 301.M39 when a cruiser of the 11th Black Crusade tore itself into the Materium near Charnis itself and began to muster itself against the planet. Undaunted by the defenses of that Armory World, the traitor warship attempted planetfall itself and though largely destroyed would in pieces fall upon the surface. Hunks of gutted warship soon had their Heretic Astartes swarming about like flies upon a carcass and the 774th, along with the Charnisi Home Guard and emergency militias, would act as the quick response while Armored Regiments were drawn from the vast stocks of arms in the bunkers.

While characteristically under equipped to deal with Astartes squad-to-toe, traitor or no, the 774th presented itself admirably as being capable of destroying pockets of enemy resistance through liberal use of hellguns, meltaguns, anti-tank weaponry, and localized orbital bombardment with frigates from the Imperial Navy coming into range. While the Home Guard and militia units would encircle and corral the Astartes, often holding them at bay through the saving grace of heavy artillery bombardments, the 774th was notable for being constantly on the offensive against the traitor. Their actions, however, were in part only opportunistic as the commander of the unit at that time knew that it wouldn’t take long for the Armored and Mechanized to come forth and rend the foe finally to pieces and, as such, the 774th had to get all the glory it could. True to their word and his estimations, in only fifteen days, seven Armored Regiments as well as nine Mechanized were mobilized by the Home Guard for immediate homeland service and the offensive, one of the most apt descriptors of overkill in local history, immediately took to crushing the invaders under tank tread.

Following that battle, bloodied and finding themselves now at half strength, the 774th replenished its ranks with units from the Home Guard who had distinguished themselves in the actions previously at hand. Reinforcements from nearby systems belatedly arrived while the Ordo Hereticus and Ordo Malleus dispatched separate emissaries in order to secure the remains of the Black Legion cruiser for proper examination and disposal. Loyal Psykers of the Adeptus Astra Telepathica, not directly affected by the invasion, would perform scans of those Home Guard and militia units who had fought potential Daemon entities, though for the most part these would be termed negative. Those units which had were thoroughly questioned by Commissars before those suspected of corruption or afflicted in the mind by such events were executed in accordance with the Emperor’s Mercy and given full burials by their remaining comrades.

For some decades following, the 774th would act as a supporting force towards Astartes Chapters dispatched to wherever the Black Legion appeared, taking some measure of delight in the fact that they, simple servants of the Emperor, could still destroy these supposed supermen of the Chaos Gods. They fought by various measures and means, least of which the use of rapid offensive actions coupled with baiting tactics and heavy, anti-tank weaponry such as the lascannon and missile launcher to wreak devastation in the enemy ranks. Lascannon gunners became more akin to snipers, taking careful steps in order to disguise their own location and using deception to indicate another. Of course, there was forever acknowledgement that for the most part the 774th would engage the enemy not on their terms, but on the Imperium’s, and that whatever actions taken were often in support and conjunction with a greater Astartes effort. Pushes on the enemy flank would be coupled by massive charges by the power armored warriors of the Chapters, the enemy preoccupied with the far more imminent threat of a chainsword than the aspects of a lascannon team coming into place against them. And yet, still, the 774th took some measure of delight. Their placement in close quarters to such Chapters as the Imperial Fists and their successor Chapters would prove formative to the Regiment, a degree of contrarianism leading to a desire to be capable of breaching the enemy in their keeps as well as upon the battlefield.

The most notable event of this containment and hunting action against the 11th Black Crusade’s errant vessels was the Battle of Ourobor. A heretical battleship of the Desecrator Class had entered into the Hive World’s orbit, launching their contingent of Astartes into the hive itself. The Planetary Defense Force found itself woefully unable to handle the enemy and as a result a brutal urban combat had persisted with the loyalist forces performing a fighting retreat and leaving bodies in their wake. The heretics, of course, treated this more as sport than combat and the 774th, along with several other Regiments and a contingent of Novamarines aboard an Emperor class Battleship and several escorts, descended against the enemy. While the two fleets exchanged fire and Novamarine boarding torpedos began to make their presence known, the Astartes and their accompanying Imperial Guard units landed at the Hive World. The combat the followed was long, tedious, and exceptionally deadly with casualties high on all fronts. The 774th, deprived of their usual ability to place ambushes against unknowing forces, found themselves on the backfoot with nearly 40% casualties in the first week before attempts to rectify this issue proved somewhat successful. Instead of such passive actions they wholly embraced the previous offensive efforts. Rapid maneuvers, elimination of cover with explosive weaponry such as missile launchers, meltagun flankings, these would become the repertoire of the Legion. By the end of the Battle of Ourobor, the 774th had suffered 75% casualties while the civilian populace of the hive had been reduced by approximately 90%. Accompanying Regiments suffered similar losses.

Following this victory, the 774th would take some years to recover their full strength, returning for a period to Charnis for rest, relaxation, and rearmament. Following a decade of such peace, the Regiment was ordered to begin movements to the Kathol System within the Segmentum. The planet of Kathol X had, as far as Astrotelepath messages had indicated from the Astra Telepathica conclave in the system before it fell, gone rogue in one method or another. Details about the precise nature of the heresy involved were sparse to non existent and, as such, the only assumption which could be made was that the Feudal World had succumbed to stranger ideals than most. Daemon involvement, while unlikely, could not be discounted and as such the 774th was considered to be a vanguard force if stranger events began to unfold. The Regiment made landfall via Valkyrie gunship several kilometers from the capital city of the planet and advanced without delay under gunship support. They found the walled conclave of the Planetary Governor surrounded by a vast siege army of primitives, lines having been erected and trebuchets lobbing boulders against the walls. The assault of the 774th, preceded support fire from the Valkyries, was swift and extensive, meltaguns turning the traitors into ash and even lascarbine fire sending many to flee. Advancing, they would find at the gates of the conclave a half dozen Astrotelepaths chained and unconscious as well as natives priests, apparently readying to sacrifice the psykers. They would not get the chance as an enterprising Valkyrie gave a heavy bolter barrage into the natives with a door gunner, cutting most either in two, and the psykers for the most part would live. Inquisition forces would later determine that the revolt was caused by rogue Inquisitorial agents, though for obvious reasons it was only stated to the 774th that rogue heretics had caused such an event. Punitive purges were commenced via Valkyrie. The 77th sustained no casualties.

Following several more years of pause, the Regiment would again be deployed, this time to Serpacia in a far less glamorous method than their first engagements. The planet, a Civilized World, had suffered a significant emotional event when the ruling class decided that they no longer wished to be a part of the Imperium. As most of the general population disagreed a major civil war thereby broke out and the 774th would be deployed to cleanse the centralized leadership of the enemy while the PDF fought things out with the rabidly outnumbered traitors. The unit maneuvered against the enemy rapidly, cutting a swathe through the urban lines before finding themselves surrounded and under a creeping artillery barrage as PDF infantry began to advance against them. The reasoning for Serpacia’s decisions, however, would become clear as a warp rift opened up within the city, disgorging traitor guard units and a half dozen Traitor Knights. The enemy charged the 774th’s lines, breaking upon them once the meltaguns revealed themselves from cover and incinerated the vanguard. Lascannons, taking once against more inspiration from snipers than their own kind, punched holes in the enemy Knights’s armor and legs, giving them reason for pause. And yet, they were sustaining far more casualties than expected and the 774th would set-off distress signals from their vox and the Serpacia Guard would respond. Breaking through, PDF units reinforced their position. In the end, the 774th could claim no less than 12,000 enemy dead and four of the six Traitor Knights. Serpacia would be cleared of most wrongdoing once the planetary leadership was executed.

In the following years, decades, centuries, and millenia the 774th would acquit itself most admirably, in time finding its place working in conjunction with Charnisi Armored Regiments as well as several other styles, never finding as much glory as could be had in those earliest conflicts. Often pushed into the role of supporting grenadiers maneuvering with armored elements to cover flanks and push through such urban and cluttered terrain as the tank might not, the 774th has acted independently in only the most rare circumstances. It’s become distinct for an unwavering support for the Omnissiah, many soldiers bearing both the Blessed Cog and the Imperial Aquila, as well as completely lacking sniper units in favor for lascannons in nearly the same role.

    Notes:
    • Armor: Despite being a Heavy Infantry Regiment, the 774th lacks any form of armored component such as Armored Fist Squads. This is primarily due to its original history in the Battle of Charnis where the 774th was mobilized rapidly in support of Armored Regiments in the Home Guard as well as its more recent history of doing the same with the Imperial Guard. In addition to this, due to the penchant for fighting in urban environments, armored vehicles are seen as a hamperance to their efforts than a boon.
    • Lascannons: Due to early history in regards to containment efforts against the 11th Black Crusade, the 774th lacks any form of sniper weaponry and instead utilizes a large amount of mobile lascannon troops. These units wield what could be termed the lascarbine of lascannons, more easily wieldable with a heavy backpack component to provide power as well as a bipod, though such weaponry is only fired from a stationary position, prone or with the bipod set against some form of embankment.
    • Psykers: While the natural distrust of the Psyker is substantial in most Guard Regiments, the 774th is far more aware of such forces and their corrupting influences. They know of the corruption of the Warp from their earliest histories, know of the dangers involved. However, due to the utilitarian nature one must have in order to stay alive, the 774th holds Psykers in a supporting role with the use of Warp-based teleportation in order to flank or rapidly reinforce as well as telekinetic shields in order to protect from both bolter and lasgun fire.
    • Commissars: Keeping in the tradition of the 774th, as officers fight from the front so too do Commissars. Equipped with both Carapace Armor identical to that of the standard Guardsman with only minor differences in order to distinguish that the soldier is in fact a Commissar as well as a Hellgun, these adolators of the God-Emperor find the most use on the front lines where, while their words might not reach their fellows but their courage just might inspire them. Consequently the death rate for such Commissars is substantial and both the armor and the weapon they wield are retained for Commissar use only from the 774th’s armory.
