And no, the Cycler Rifles are unlikely to be ancestral or self made. First question would be...where do you get the materials for making such a rifle on a planet such as this one? Not to mention the technology involved in even just making energy coated slugthrowers. No, it's more likely that this is a scavenged weapon from Czerka Corp. For one because it bears quite the similarity tot he 6-2Aug2 hunting rifle from Czerka Arms...which makes sense considering that Czerka Corp. was the one behind the unsuccessful mining operations on Tatooine that gave the Jawas their Sand Crawlers. On top of that the Tuskens are known to modify their rifles with more advanced scopes as well as improved firing chambers. The heck how to do that while acting like it's the Devil's work itself?

Right. When was the last time you saw Luke's landspeeder? Practically a board with an engine and two seats in it. Nay. The Wikis agree with me here that they were trying to scavenge the landspeeder.

The hiring issue is something that remains tied with how harsh and strict Tuskens are on their stuff. If they are indeed not too picky when it Comes to scavenging, there's a wide variety to offer...and even if there's not, there are still many things of worth an offworlder could offer. Like water. Or Banthas. Besides, there's literally a canon example of dealings with the Tusken, that being the deal Cobb Vanth struck with the Tusken for the protection of Freetown. A deal made over water and a pearl from the belly of a Krayt Dragon and which saw the Tuskens of all People going in and dealing with raiders and liberating the town. So no, it is very much possible to hire Tuskens. And they are clearly not as averse to others as one would think.

Also...as for Jabba...you realize the Separatists already ruined their relations with him when they kidnapped his son? He's already pledged his assistance to the Republic. So no, technically the Separatists aren't risking their neck for some practically worthless dudes for a conflict with the Hutts, they're just taking in yet another ally in their own efforts against the Hutts.

As for importance, Wookiepedia states that Mos Espa is a regionally important trade hub but that's already it. I'm not claiming that the planet or the Tuskens and Jawas have anything of any importance themselves. However, you are quite wrong about its strategic location. As far as I'm aware, Tatooine is right next to Geonosis, one of the Separatists Primary Droid Production and Development Planets. One could compare it to Iwo Jima really, in that it itself is not really worth anything but its close proximity to the Japanese Home Islands (or Geonosis in this case) makes it valuable to both sides. For the CIS it can serve as a form of early warning station of incoming enemy vessels as well as as a base for interception of enemy fleets gunning for Geonosis, potentially catching them before they start bombing or invading Geonosis and disrupting droid production. For the Republic on the other Hand it is literally a base right next to Geonosis and I don't think I need to say anything else.

I retract all statements, then. I'll enjoy slaughtering the Tuskens, I suppose.

I am glad that we worked this out in a civil manner. I'll be looking forward to meet your on the field of battle!

Considering the arc I have in mind for her character development, it would most definitely be interesting to see a combat against your forces. Only issue is that I am currently in the Kashyyyk system, attached to Brusia's Corps.

Dinna worry. If I do things right, all I'll need is the one Jedi.

I was thinking of dispatching Kalani to Tatooine on a diplomatic/supply mission to meet your forces.

Well, not quite. As a custom faction applicant, I am required to still make a character app, in this case most likely the mysterious Jundland General. Just wanted to make the faction app first and test how it's received since I've been toying with the concept for a while but didn't want to waste time on something that would be taken very negatively. Alas, I'll correct that lack of an app over the course of the day.

Hey Commonwealth, I'd like to change the name of Trench's flagship to "Deathless" and have three of the eight Recusant Cruisers I have to be of the larger variant, can I do that?

Btw, I don’t see why the refugees would ask for CIS ships to help; I mean the CIS is no way near Naos

I...uh....omitted some things which were already in the faction app. Kinda because this one was already getting way too long. And because I really wanted to get this out today...and I have to go sleep early because I always need to be at work extremely early.

Custom Character

Name: The Jundland General (real Name unknown/unpronouncable)
Race: Tusken
Age: 50 years
Gender: Male
Force Sensitivity: None
Description or Image:
Profession/Skills: Tusken tribal warlord & self-proclaimed military ruler of Tatooine
-Skilled leader and strategist, highly capable in unconventional warfare as it was waged on Tatooine
-Highly skilled Sniper
-Very skilled and brutal melee fighter
-Desert Survival Specialist
Faction: The Sand Pact
Unit Name and composition:
-76D5 RA-7 Protocol Droid
Starting Location: Mos Espa, Tatooine
Ship: None
Personal Equipment:
-Improved Tusken Cycler Rifle capable of piercing light vehicles and heavily armoured infantry.
-Chieftain Gaderffii
-Tusken Mask
-Improved Tusken Raider Garb (Addition of armour plates, pouches and belts)
Background:
The Jundland General had, like most natives of Tatooine, a very uneventful and common early life. He was born to a simple Tusken tribe and lived a simple Tusken life of hardship. They would travel across the Jundland Wastes, hunt whatever animals they could find, hide from the occasional Krayt Dragon and generally just survive. It wasn't an easy or good life...but it was all the life that Young Tusken had.

Which made it all the worse when it was absolutely destroyed in one fell swoop by filth affiliated with the Hutt Cartel. Some rich kids, having hired some gangsters and bounty hunters, speeding over the dunes and through the canyons on skiffs and satisfying their perverted desires by indulging in their Hobby of hunting sentient prey. They were well armed with blasters, fast on their skiffs and cruel in their methods. They accuretely killed those who were young and defenseless first, to their parents' great dismay. They proceeded with the women, making the male howl in anger, grief and frustration as they attempted to catch the nimble skiffs. They had left the most dangerous and thus most exciting prey for the end and they delighted shooting the frenzied Tuskens down one after another. The Tusken, who would later rise to become the Jundland General, survived solely because a laser blast aimed at him was partially blocked by another Tusken, leading to a far less deadly version to hit the Jundland General square in the chest, burning off his robes, his Skin and into his bones in that place. And then they just left, having satisfied their lust for murder on a group of people nobody would blame them for killing. The Tuskens were only dangerous savages afterall.

The future Jundland General would've never come to be had it not been for a lucky coincidence. He would have died there of his wounds had not a band of Jawas, who had seen the smoke rising from his tribe's encampment and assumed that something had been destroyed ergo something was there that could be looted. They came in like vultures after the battle, feasting on what remained, stripping the Tuskens of all of their belongings...and finding an unconscious and heavily wounded young Tusken on the ground. Now the Jawas were many things, ruthless cutthroats among them and occasionally they'd also be murderers. But they haad acquired some more medpacks recently and one of their heavy lifting droids had a defect so...why not bring this Tusken in? He could maybe haul shit in the future. And so they took him with them and nurtured him back to good health in their Sand Crawler.

The awakening was...rough to say the least. The Tusken had to be restrained and given time to cool down for a few days and get acquainted with his new situation. He was now at the mercy of the tiny Jawas, a people usually seen as, while related, clearly misguided and inferior. But...they had still helped him recover so that he now had the opportunity to one day exact the revenge his people deserved. For that was the wish that was burning within his Tusken Heart now. As a member of his tribe, he had already not been fond off the colonizers, not fond at all. Had even gone out onto raids to attack some of them. But now, now he was left with a burning hatred for them, any and all of them that had made it onto Tatooine. Though he learned quickly, not the least from his new Jawa...foster parents...that he had to quell his hatred. Bound by his debt to them, he stuck with them and helped out in the Sand Crawler, usually hiding within it when they reached a settlement or moisture farm so as to not incite the colonizers...or himself.

During his time with the Jawas, the young Tusken learned a lot. He learned a bit about how to use or fix machines, how specific machines looked like, how the society of the non-natives generally worked, how the Jawas worked etc. All the while he would hide in the Sand Crawler and if he lost his temper, get punished with electroshocks. His foster parents were quite sharsh in disciplining their newest family member. Eventually though, the Tusken decided that it was time to return to his people. He was feeling a certain heartache to hear the familiar howls of other Tusken, to see the familiar masks and partake in the more familiar life of a tribal nomad. And to set the plans he had crafted to bring about the downfall of the colonizers in motion.

He knew where and how to attract the attention of his own people. Travelling out into the Jundland Wastes, he made a fire at night and waited, waited for the bright shine of the fire to draw in a tribe. He didn't have to wait particularly long to get what he wanted, a tribe coming along soon enough and after some general howling and him explaining just what had happened to his own tribe, he was quickly taken back in. Though he was still viewed with suspicion since he had left out in his stories how he himself had survived or where he had spent the past years. That distrust only increased when he spoke out for Jawas, trying to get them to maybe engage in trade with them or good relations, saying they could gain greatly from it. It led to him getting the occasional beating by several other Tuskens.

Eventually the future Jundland General realized that he was getting nowhere this way. He needed power. And he went for it in the straightest way possible, challenging the tribal chief of the tribe that had taken him in to one on one combat for the role of tribal leader. The tribal leader was a conservative Tusken in every way shape and form, an embodiment of the Tusken way of life and a strong warrior. The Jundland General knew that he would have to beat this leader without any tricks that he had learned from the Jawas. He had to defeat him face to face with a Gaderffii. It ended up being a long and tough fight, each of them giving the other countless bruises, cuts and gashes as they fought. Alas, eventually the chieftain's Gaderffii held by his opponent and made from durosteel from spaceship wreckage just crushed the General's comparably poorly made Gaderffii. Victory was certain for the chief as he raised his weapon, fatigue making his movements with the heavy weapon slow, slow enough for the General to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. He too was fatigued and tired, just as much if not more than the chief...but he now held two smaller weapons in his hands, easy to wield quickly. And he fully used that tiny advantage that they gave him, ramming the sharp points, where the chieftain's Gaderffii had broken his apart, into the chief's chest, killing the Tusken. And with that he had finally claimed the respect of the tribe and gained a position of leadership.

The following years saw the Jundland General re-establish contact with his former foster parents, starting to make deals with them. Passage along the Tusken's secret routes and full protection in exchange for scraps and technology like metal to make new Gaderffiis, material to enhance their cycler rifles, actual old Czerka Arms guns, explosives and the like. It laid the foundation for the Jundland General's systematic campaign of uniting the tribes, clans and warbands of the Tusken Raiders and eventually, as his power grew, also force the Jawa Clans into this alliance, wether that was via coercian, blackmail or straight up force. And from then onward his ambitions snowballed as he led the campaign of the natives of Tatooine against the off-worlders.

Once Mos Espa and Mos Eisley had fallen and the Jundland General had finally achieved victory, many of the Tusken and even the Jawas were celebrating it. The Tusken Raiders had achieved a millennia old dream of reclaiming their planet. Yet the Jundland General did not celebrate. He was a leader and as such he always had to think of the future of his people. The ever scavenging Jawas had found a great deal of treasure for them and for him in Jawas palace...and a crushed Rancor but that was beside the point as that thing was dead and as such uninteresting. The main treasure for the Jundland General within all they had found though was the information they recovered. Sure, a lot of it had been taken or deleted by Jabba's henchment but it was clear that they had left in a haste and so the Jawas had found a great lot. It led to the Jundland General learning a lot about the current politics of the galaxy, about how the galaxy was gripped in civil war between the Republic and a faction called the CIS. He learned that the Republic was extremely pro-human...something he wasn't too keen about since humans were among the more numerous off-worlders on this world. On the other side was the CIS. And when the Jundland General found information about Jabba conspiring with the Republic against the CIS, he saw where the future would take Tatooine, especcially considering that the Separatist hub of Geonosis was right next door.

If he would have brought this proposition before his people at any other point in his life prior to this...he most likely would have been taken, beaten, tortured and killed in the most cruel way known to them. But with the successfull campaign against the off-worlders finished and Tatooine reclaimed, he had become the greatest, most legendary hero of his people to have ever existed. It was the only and best time for him to announce it and who knew...perhaps he could kick off a change with the Tusken Raiders eventually? He still readied himself to lay down his life should it become necessary. Which it didn't but that was beside the point. His people took the news like champs. Of course they knew that Jabba's might was not just limited to his palace, else they'd have stormed it long ago already. They knew that he'd come back unless they found powerful allies. However, they didn't want any new offworlders on their world. So a compromise was made. Droids, things the Tuskens trusted the Jawas to handle so they didn't have to, were to be the only CIS staff to set foot on Tatooine. Any biological CIS member would have to get the permission of the Union of Tribal Chiefs...or get smuggled in by the Jawas.

You know, gotta say, there's a lot of confusion when it comes to travelling in the Star Wars universe

I at first presumed that they hyperspace lanes, like roads, could be blocked and therefore I, as a Separatist, for example, wouldn't be able to travel from Dantooine to Salucemai based on the maps, because the Republic controls territory in between

But then I start realising stuff; for example, the Separatists never took Christophsis, yet they were still able to stage a massive invasion of Ryloth?

Basically, I'd like to ask how moving around would work in this RP

Unlike the show or much of canon, I want to try and follow the lanes as it makes sense. However, I am OK with secret routes being found to connect major systems, but not to the degree where everyone has secret lanes.

What about planets not directly connected to the Hyperspace Lanes?

Also...well...Geonosis is behind Christophsis. Galaxy frontlines of the Galactic Civil War are overall pretty damn confusing, though I do know that the Separatist Alliance was pretty splintered in all sides, greatly inhibiting their war effort.
