My app should be done now.

NS Name: Talchyon
Character Name: Freddy Allen
Appearance: Image

Freddy is an overweight young African American man, 5'6 and 255 lbs.

Age: 15
Clique: Townies
Powers, Group and Magnitude: Shapeshifting, Freakish, Magnitude 1. What this means is that Freddy can change the shape of parts of himself, though there are hints that he is only able to shapeshift into something more animalistic and foreign. So while he can get thinner, stronger, below peak human ability, and a little quicker, he can also generate claws and a different color of skin tone, often in shades of gold or grey. Also, some large odd bulges on his back...

Bio: Freddy Allen is the son of parents who owned a mom & pop general store. Due to his weight, he always felt insecure and wanted the attention of others his age. He loves his parents, and they love him. That has supported him as well. He also is a Christian, a more conservative branch of Presbyterian and still is pretty active in his church.

Freddy has no clue what he wants to do with his life. While his parents lean on him to help keep the store running, eventually Freddy would like to leave town and go somewhere else. But he is a little fearful, not knowing if he could manage on his own.

Freddy is a heavyset young African American man, 5'6 and 285 lbs.

Age: 15
Clique: I'm thinking townies but could have him be an outsider
Powers, Group and Magnitude: Bouncing, Freakish, Magnitude 1. For Freddy, this means that he is resistant to many normal kinetic type attacks (punches, kicks) but would still be harmed in some way in a car accident. He also could survive a fall from about 30 ft., bouncing and taking no damage. Higher heights would still harm him.

You'll need to tone this down a bit for it to be a Mag 1 power. At Mag 1 this power would be more like he is able to tank punches and kicks at like an MMA fighter level and he wouldn't break his bones from say a bad tackle.

Ok. What do you mean by "tank punches"? (I would have no problem hitting things with the force of a tank, but I don't think that's this power or this magnitude level).

I meant that he could take the hits like a boxer. "Tank" is a mmo term for taking damage.

Ok... So, I'm really not liking even the new power I chose. Not seeing it for a character or writing. I'm going to think of another one.

Sigh.

Well, just basic ones no one has touched yet, camouflage abilities or fire manipulation come to mind. Some form of healing ability, or a vocal based ability could be interesting. As for something a bit more out there, you could try having a lie detector or a heat manipulator.

Character Name: Chloe Gibson
Appearance:
Standing at 5’ even, Chloe’s most definitely on the lesser end of the height spectrum. Despite that she’s wisp-thin, not at all muscled and could probably be mistaken for a boy by anyone requiring glasses. She stands at 110 lbs, perhaps somewhat scrawny by her own measures. Chloe keeps her brown hair at a shorter length and in a neat bun, mostly out of an annoyance for it getting unkempt.
Age: 15
Clique: Townie
Powers, Group and Magnitude: Chemical Production, Freaks, Magnitude 1
Chloe is able to produce from her pores what can be considered airborne oleoresin capsaicin or, in other words, pepper spray with 5% CRC...something slightly more dangerous than anything carried by a cop. This spray forms a general cloud about her before being dispersed rapidly by the wind. Chloe herself is not affected by this spray in any way. It is potent at a general radius of ten feet though this can be higher depending on wind characteristics. This cloud is made on command, much like flexing a specific muscle, and requires some time in order to build-up further.
Bio:
Born to a family of retirees who had returned to the Maine area after some time abroad and around the world, Chloe is in a stranger situation in most. Born on the general East Coast (In truth Jersey, but she hates Jersey), she spent some years there in public school, her dad working with the irrigation district under federal government life, her mom doing volunteer work at school. It was simple, easy, and she didn’t even really need to get a job for it all to work. Just concentrate on school, that was what was important, learning all the little things so that she could have some choices later on in life.

When they moved up to Maine, well, life continued to be rather simple. Her dad stopped working and the money quickly went from some to less, retirement pay only being such. Her family didn’t mind it, though, lived without some things life the GI Joe collections, LEGOs being a cheaper substitute, and still working through things. Of course, her dad did say ‘hey if you want you can get a job’, but it never was seen as necessary. In their eyes, in the end it was the military or college and, regardless of what she chose, Chloe would still be going out into the world and out of their apartment. She kept on going though, in school, making some friends outside of it all.

Chloe never quite got the whole dichotomy of the place, the town’s population being split up as it was. She didn’t touch the Outsiders on account of the graffiti, the weed, and the general fact that she enjoyed going to sleep and waking up at nearly reasonable times. She didn’t go with the Vacays on account of the fact that the metal pole was so far up them that being stuck-up was like a second nature. She didn’t really even go with the other Townies; the fact that she didn’t work was a strange notion to them. Nevertheless, Chloe got to be somewhat good friends with Bridget on account that she sometimes gave a tip, gave somewhat good conversation with the lady, and was sort of a hanger-on. It didn’t help for the minor crush, but that was that. There would be some few others, though Chloe would talk often with the teachers, hanging-out with them during lunch, sometimes being the teacher’s pet and most of the time not giving a damn.

Her powers would manifest, luckily, with no one around; her parents were out shopping and Chloe was having a bath and relaxing. Having the place cloy-up with pepper spray and opening a window to water the eyes of the neighbor’s cat was something strange as all could be, sure, and following that she made ample provisions to discover herself far, far away from most of anyone around. The woods helped a lot with that.

Thank you very much. I try. If we're allowed more characters I might make an Outsider who plays more Japanese music than you can shake a stick at and drifts more than anyone ought to in Maine...but frankly need to figure-out another power for that and diverting efforts might not be a great idea...

NS Name: PImpmaster General Parcia.
Character Name: Micheal Dunn "Yang"
Appearance: Image -The last known picture of Micheal when he was 13, this particular photograph is in fact a lost Child photo.
Standing at roughly 5'9, yang is a lanky kid with a deceptive image, his rather baggy clothes hiding a surprisingly toned kid clocking in at 170 lbs, with shaggy brown hair. His normal attire consists of an old Cadet BDU jacket, Jimmie Hendrix tee shirt over a black tank top, a pair of jeans and thick socks with a pair of Black army surplussed jump boots finishing it off. His head wear tends to vary, more often then not he wears an old camouflage boonie cap that matches his jacket. On said jacket, in place of were the name tape would be, is a hand stitched "Yin-Yang" symbol.
Age: 17
Clique: Outsiders
Powers, Group and Magnitude: Hydrokinesis, elemental, Mag-1. He capable of controlling roughly a 2 liter amount of water or a liquid saturated with water
Bio:
This is an exerp from a Florida Department of Child Services case file...

The case of Micheal Dunn is one that makes me, rather often, re-think my life choices as a officer of CPS. Born in the early 2000s to a Lower middle class family in North Jacksonville, Florida, he grew up accustomed to poverty in its worst facets. He had a fairly normal childhood by all accounts, at the age of 13 the family would move in to a set of town homes in Jacksonville's Mandarin suburb, an all together upgrade over their previous living situation. This would be short lived, as his family would unfortunately be killed in a fire that started next door from an unstable drug lab.

Bouncing between relatives, it seems he would gravitate and spend most of his free time at a Buddhist Temple located in Down town Jacksonville. His grades would drop, he would really stop attending school all together and for close to 2 years he actually lived at the temple, likely doing errands and minor tasks for the monk. (In retrospect this all sounds rather...fantastical and I am inclined to agree, how ever this is all I really have to go on in terms of intelligence on him, so it stays in the report.) At the age of 15, actually on his 15th birthday, a pair of CPS agents accompanied by JSO officers entered the temple and took him in to custody. Strangely enough there was no fight from any of the monks nor Micheal him self. He then spent the nest 3 months in protective custody were it was quickly discovered he was mute, weather this was some vow of silence or trauma induced condition is not clear, as he soon escaped from CPS custody, running off southward.

At some point in the fallowing months he doubled back through the city, dodging police as needed, were he allegedly picked up a small set of personal belongings at the temple. The trail largely goes cold from there as Micheal seemingly goes cold. Then, as one looks through the time line attached to this case file, there are a few reported siting of a young man resembling Micheal in Atlanta, Athens, Savanna, and a few more Cities in central Georgia. If one reads the reports in chronological order then it can be surmised he was travailing north along the eastern sea board. In D.C it's noted he was involved with a street fight, fending off a few homeless men with a broom stick. In Norfolk he could be seen playing an acoustic guitar along the metro way, earning fares for a metro pass likely.

Lastly, the trail ends in Maine, and the case reaches nearly a year in open length, resulting in it being shelved for the time being. His current whereabouts are unknown, his current mental and physical status are wholly unknown and speculative at the most and while I personally wish the best for him, I believe this case is an example of a lost child slipping through the cracks of the system.

OP -

What about this as a potential power? And what would the effect be under Magnitude 1?

I'm thinking Freddy could transform (down the line) into things like griffins, centaurs, etc.

Here's some ideas to make that into a Magnitude 1.
- Can transform only partially into one creature
- Transformation is time restricted (maybe he can only transform between two times of the day)
- Will / Concentration/ Constitution based transformation. If will based, it puts a mental strain on him and as time goes on and on while in the form he might become more animalistic. If Concentration based it's basically a D&D spell and he can get jumped out of tbe form with enough of a jolt. If Constitution, he gets physically weaker as time goes on.
- Has to literally believe in the creature's existence

I like these ideas. Especially the one based on constitution. That has promise.

By the way, I'm also thinking of limiting the creatures somewhat. So like, nothing from horror stories (vampires, zombies, possessed reanimated mummies, etc.) and more like from the classical genre.

I'll put a soft cap at two for the moment.

The IC, barring something exploding IRL, should be up sometime tommorrow. We'll commence with Arc 0: The First(ish) Night.

I'll be completely honest I didn't clear the relationship with Bridget's player but I figured that sort of thing would be ok. If there're any objections brought up I'll be happy ro remove.

Okay, I might app another character then, either Outsider with control over fluids or a Townie who started to gain fish traits ( like gills )

Hey OP. Ok, so I got Freddy done. A very simple bio. I tend to write more in RPs then I did here (I think you know that). Check out the completed app here. Thanks also for your advice on how to help handle this shapeshifting power.
The Clockwork Circus - Welcome to a steampunk RP rife with crime, gangs, beggars, and starting off as the lowest of the low, in the lowest socio-economic place there is.
