A Political Planet (Global Geopolitical RP) [OOC/OPEN]

It’s 2019, and Earth is as dynamic as it always is. Political tensions soar between the West and Iran, war rages in Yemen and Syria, China’s growing dominance on the world stage is of concern to the free world, along with Hong Kongers who have taken to the streets to protest. Many African countries have soaring economies, and are developing faster than ever, while others still are gripped with political tension and crippling poverty. North Korea’s nuclear missile program threatens the safety and security of Asia, along with India repealing article 370, causing soaring tensions with Pakistan. Fires rage in the Amazon, as Brexit brings uncertainty to the EU. The US has accused Russia of meddling in their last election, which has caused large tension both within the US and around the world. The fate of the Earth, and its future is in the hands of all its nations, one of which you will take control of. If not a country, a faction within the country, a dissident separatist group or a movement for regional autonomy.
This is a geopolitical RP where you RP one of the countries on Earth (Yes, very original concept, I know). This RP is open to RPers of all skill levels, before you app, here are some suggestions
- Small countries are great to RP too
Oftentimes people rush to take the big guys, such as the US, China, Russia, India, Brazil, etc. After all, there are only a few global superpowers, most of which will probably get taken up fast. RPing as a small country, one that you may not know much about might be a great opportunity to learn about the country and its internal politics, as well as foreign policy - Superpowers are hard to RP as
As a superpower, you’ll constantly have to post in detail and make sure you’re keeping up with what’s happening in the RP. I’d recommend apping as a superpower for experienced RPers only - Countries with conflict are also hard to RP as
While it may be tempting to jump in as Syria, Yemen, or Afghanistan, RPing as these countries comes with its own challenges. I’d recommend these for experienced RPers too
Rules
- No godmodding, metagaming, etc.
- Keep it realistic, even Kim Jong Un won’t randomly nuke Seoul
- For the time being, only one country or faction per player
- UN sessions will be held occasionally, don’t repeatedly ask me to start one
- However, countries may draft treaties and have summits at any time
- OP’s word is law
- To start with, everything in the world is to be the same as it is at the start of October 2019 (Some changes is allowed, but needs to be OP approved)
- Players can control anything in their countries domestically
