Paulson noticed Vohoffsky’s chuckling, and she also stifled a bit of a giggle.

Ruler's mouth contrived to form a "what" expression before quickly shuffling through his printed PowerPoint slides on procedure. Once he found the necessary slide, he spoke.

"On the contrary, Mr. Speaker. My motion is perfectly in order. Um...that's it."

Unsure if he even needed to say anything, he sat back down, waiting for someone to second the motion. Maybe that's how he would decide who were his friends, whoever would second his motions. Thus, flipping a random printed bill to the back and grabbing a pen, he was ready to take note of who would second it. And he supposed he would also record who would object to it, that would be his list of enemies. So he waited, writing the name John Atang in blunt handwriting to start off the latter.

Seeing Walker, Vohoffsky smiled and got ready to cast his vote. He stood up, ready to make a minor speech.

Atang tried to contain himself, but let out a chuckle and whispered to whoever sat next to him.

"Okay, now this is epic."

A note was sent to the Republican Representatives in the chamber from Volker.

As has already been established, the whip for this bill is aye, subsequently, it is expected that all Representatives will vote aye and those who have not done so are strongly advised to change their vote.

Something this big shouldn't be shoved through Congress at such a pace. We should have had a debate on the matter.

“Son, let me explain the situation. You are one of the most vulnerable Republicans in the Conference. You clearly need Hispanic and Asian support to win re-election. That Hispanic and Asian support often comes from Vietnamese, Cambodian, Cuban, and Venezuelan voters, all of whom despise communist regimes and are willing to support Republicans for their opposition to them. If you do not vote in support of this bill, your Democratic rivals will be able to outflank you on foreign policy and win over these swing minorities, and you will lose re-election. Stop thinking ideology and start thinking practicality on this one.”

It will help your case and rapport with leadership, however, if you support this bill. We have a responsibility to make sure the Democrats don’t outflank us on foreign policy, a strong suit of our party.”
