While I respect @LeviMurphy's passion on this issue, he's simply not being realistic with voters about timeframe. He promises to sign single-payer healthcare into law in six months.

Levi, I was in the House when we were fighting to pass the ACA - you weren't there to experience the absolute bedlam. We stayed past midnight making deals, concessions, compromises - all for a bill that we now consider a half-measure. It ultimately took the ACA 8 months to be signed into law, PLUS a rigorous battle in the courts after its passage.

Now, I'm not one to shy away from a fight. Never have been. I would undergo those sleepless nights again if it meant expanding healthcare coverage to all. But immediate Medicare for All is a political suicide pill: it rips workers off the plans their unions fought for, promising a better alternative with one government plan. But Levi's plan says nothing about hospital reimbursement rates, so it's possible that taxpayer dollars pay too. It would lower the quality of care, increase wait times, and, to fund this inefficient program, would require a middle class tax hike!

I absolutely have tremendous respect for @LeviMurphy's advocacy in regards to universal healthcare, and I wouldn't even say that I'm opposed to single-payer as a possibility in the long-term. But he's making promises that he can't keep while advocating for a plan that isn't progressive - it taxes the very people we want to make prosperous.

Ben Montgomery
John Burroughs Middle School
Los Angeles, California

Ben checked for messages from his Ipad, as he got out of his car and headed inside of the middle school. Today was career day for John Burroughs Middle School. The school district gotten some extra funding to bring in some more diverse people from either side of occupations. The school invited Ben to have a section of his own in a classroom to talk to the typical 11 to 14 year old kids who would laugh at whatever internet joke they could find. The principal showed him around the school on it's conditions and how their students are doing. "As you can see, we are providing a safe and academic environment for our students to perform at their peak ability. Socializing is encouraged. Counseling is available for all of our students, when provided. Currently combating the whole vaping issue, though."
"They like to not say the word smoking, despite using a fancy different word instead." Ben explained to him.
"Times are different now. Back a decade ago, we had kids smoking the actual tobacco. Not electronic tubes of smoke."
"Make sure the health classes are still up or I would have to give the schools more money."
"We making sure they are. Sex was taught back in 5th grade, but we give reminders. Drugs included. I do appreciate you making an appearance here, you know. Especially, when we have some guy from the superstore to make a visit."

The principal looked to make sure that their conversation was quiet enough, as Ben saw a man wearing a traditional Walmart blue shirt and black jeans talking with a teacher through the open door of the classroom. "I know. People tend to come here with dream jobs. It's kinda surprising what you pulled in."
"We're running on a three point system. A list of occupations are given to students. They pick 3 in any order and they go to the classroom with that occupation. A lecture from the occupation, along with examples, but considering you their verbal, then the new set comes in."
"Who else did you bring in?"
"Video game developer, candy worker, FBI agent.."
"I'm Governor?"
"Politician. Though, we put down the names of people below and contact info on their companies."
"Except the kids to get contact info for the government site to donate."

Ben Montgomery was given a classroom near the gym to present his lecture. Though, he waited until snack was when he was supposed to present, after the period was over. He didn't know how many kids were going to show up in the classroom, but maybe a few kids.

Caroline gave Jillian's hand a shake with a smile and a nod of approval. "Of course, Senator Dayton, it's been a pleasure to have this talk with you. I'm sure I'll see you again soon." Nodding softly, she went to take her leave once all goodbyes were said.

Vohoffsky secretly turned on his phone too, and hit record as he began to speak. After all, Volker might later take his statement out of context.

"I promise to end the courting of Congressmen and Senators by the AFM, along with limiting our campaigning to California and the West Coast until such time comes that it becomes necessary. This promise excludes national interviews, however, along with op-eds in national newspapers. Is that all, Mr. Majority Leader?"

Team Voice Chat: CodeRigel: Finally, my mic is now working. I'll be with you soon, Betelgeuse, just need to get there..

Polaris, after being nabbed by a Desert Eagle, threw a flashbang off, as Vohoffsky got a sniper headshot off in time. Whether or not he died was not his concern, only escape was. They both ran off, trying to leave as fast as possible to help Rigel and Betelgeuse, the latter of which was on the verge of death. They ran off as fast as they could...and there goes the hostage! Now it was time to mop up a few floors, as Vohoffsky switched to an XM1014. He didn't like the cheap skin on it, but hey, it works for now.

Team Voice Chat: CodePolaris: WE'RE COMING!

Team Voice Chat: CodeOrion: We will win, my friends!

Rigel, Polaris and Vohoffsky had arrived nearly on time...nearly. They tried to rush forward, assaulting the terrorists, but alas Betelgeuse was dead before they could reach him. They flung their grenades, unleashing them upon the terrorists. Incendiary, high explosive, whatever would smoke them out. They all wielded generally fast weapons, clearing out the room despite the fact they were generally inaccurate. They hunted them down from all sides, but made one mistake: they left their back open...

And he hoped that I_r0k wasn't too salty to the point where he might swat someone. Nowadays, someone immature on the internet might find some exploits here and there.

Vohoffsky, after finishing the match, realised he had a message from Mike, and replied.

@LeviMurphy, I hate to say it, but you're just wrong. Period. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say that you just haven't read my proposal. First, you claim Medicare for America will leave "millions uninsured." That's just factually incorrect; my plan automatically enrolls the uninsured - so it would lead to immediate universal healthcare! So, no, single payer isn't "the only way" to guarantee universal coverage.

For the working poor, my plan is not a "buy-in", it's just an opt-in. They won't pay any premiums or copays. Levi, read the plan first!

And of course I would never "slander' you or accuse you of not being a progressive - I know your record and what you stand for. Rather, this is a specific policy critique which I find to be uniquely unfair to unions who want to keep their plans. This is not some random talking point - I have spoken to unions around the country who are afraid that they will lose quality insurance under a Medicare for All system.

And finally, in response to your charge that I am not being clear enough about my views on healthcare. I was the first to release a healthcare plan, and I don't think it's unfair to say that it is unrivaled in detail and clarity. Read it. It spells out how much it costs, how exactly I'd finance it, and how much everyone would pay - which is to say, barely anything, if anything at all!

Labeling my plan to give people choice while lowering costs/making healthcare free for many as "neoliberal" is just misleading, plain and simple. It's simply false to say my plan doesn't provide universal coverage, it's false to claim that this plan isn't bold. And you mention that every major industrialized country has universal healthcare. I would point out to you, Levi, that the majority of those industrialized nations don't have single-payer. France, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Norway, Sweden - the list goes on.

"That's a very kind suggestion, I'll take it very seriously. I'd be proud to fight for your legacy in the Senate. Would do us all good to be rid of [not-Manchin]. Sure, he sides with you sometimes, but never enough. He's still a Democrat." He smiled warmly to the President. "You've been such a breath of fresh air for this country, sir. Establishment Republicans harp on about your economic record, and it's a damn good record, but I don't think anyone truly grasps the social change you've brought to the country. They want to sweep that under the carpet. Sweep you under the carpet and claim the spoils as their own. I don't like that. Men like Mister Flanagan and I... "Well, that's relatively simple, Mister President - America First. People should place value in our history and our traditions. People who come here should speak our language and obey our values. People who live here should have the right to live their lives without the kind of top-down micromanagement you see in places like China or North Korea. Liberty is the code, it is the calling. So on and so forth." He made a dismissive gesture, acknowledging this tangent would otherwise go on for a while. "We've got to stop having a society where people shake down businesses over bullshit. WE need a society where our kids are taught the greatness of America rather than focusing on every flaw." Prendergast shrugged idly, before nodding. "We're sliding into a generation of millennials who spit on the Constitution and look at men like you through a twisted liberal lens. My policy? Make sure that the generations after them are willing to recognize what truly makes America great and they don't damn well forget it."

@EmilyDavenport

Though I've only just recently entered into this race, I've already spoken enough with the average American to understand their belief that purity arguments between politicians, over the internet, is the ultimate indication of social elitism. The American people don't give a damn who passes your "progressive purity tests," the American people just care who will get the job done and who will make their lives better the most. Put down your phones, and get back to speaking with the people who need to hear our progressive visions for America.

"I spoke about this on Flanagan's show. Someone with a proper conservative streak. Respects the Constitution. Not an activist. I can't say I have a specific name in mind right now, but I've not seen the shortlists that get drafted up by your staff. If you were just retiring, I'd honestly have picked you. Your court cases against the A.C.A. were legendary. You know your Constitution, sir. Remember that [not-Breyer] is knocking on death's door too. We've got an opportunity for a conservative supermajority on the Court. Imagine that."

Nathaniel Richardson
Pottawattamie County, Iowa
March 24th, 2019

After 2 days attending to the business of Governor Richardson returned to the campaign trail. Iowa had been somewhat… neglected by him as he wasn’t confident that Dunn wouldn’t take herself out of the race but recent developments had given him a new resolve in the state and he aimed to win it.

Arriving in Southwestern Iowa Richardson made his way to Council Bluffs first visiting the Broadway United Methodist Church for an hour long closed door meeting with local faith leaders that the Dunns had put him into contact with. Afterwards he toured the historic district of the city before visiting the reconstructed Kanesville Tabernacle to show his respect for the Mormon population of Iowa, visiting the museum and speaking to them about their priorities in the 2020 election, he hoped this would help him win Utah as well down the road.

Richardson moved on to the West end, visiting auto dealerships and grain elevators to talk to workers and business owners/managers about the local economy and how he could make their life easier. Afterward he visited the Gold Spike monument and the Dodge Park playland to address a small curious crowd. Shaking hands and meeting people he made his was south to Casino Row to the Bass Pro Shops where he went shopping for some fishing supplies and met individuals.

Heading to Manawa he stopped at TravelCenters of America to talk with the truckers about the dangers of automation and the concerns they face regarding the length of hours worked and how they felt about the controversy. The truckers were facing a hard time in the current economic climate and were more important than every, Richardson pledged to support them and supported infrastructure spending to make their job easier. Finally in the city he met with a local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Oakland-Fairview where he took questions and relayed his respect for the organization.

He repeated this tour in the outlying rural communities in the county, going door to door and talking to farmers working the land. He asked questions based on his extensive experience working with NC farmers, and he had picked up some tricks, while not totally same having any knowledge was somewhat impressive. Going house to house and to the occasional farmers market or diner in rural America was not speedy, but he had time to commit and it was well worth committing to win Iowa.
