"The JillBus?" joked Spellman, "What do you need me for then? You'll win over America with that alone."

He chuckled and then sipped his coffee.

"I agree, we do see eye-to-eye on lots of issues. And while you call it a Fairer America agenda, I call it a New America agenda. It'll take a whole revival of who we are, of what we stand for, not just to undo the damage of Wolf but correct course. Now, I agree, there is a threat from the further progressive side of the party. But the bigger threat is the one closer to you, Velez. And frankly, you didn't even go toe-to-toe with him. And to me, that's a bit worrying. So I'd like a bit of an explanation for that."

He put his hands together, pausing before his next words.

"Because, I mean, we can't go back to the Baharia coalition completely. We need some real change in leadership, but not to the farthest left either. I think you can do that, certainly. So where do you see me fitting into your plan? How did you say it...where do you see me being able to compliment your shortcomings?"

"Mike and I have our little non-aggression pact going," she admitted, "frankly I'm surprised he's yet to break it, his arguments center around elect-ability and that's where you come in. You represent the wing of the progressives that Murphy and Westra can't stomach not yet having, the sensible action-centered pragmatists. The Lysnkeys if you will," she pursed her lips, "an endorsement from you would, well it would make the case that I have the broadest support from within the party, if Erika Goldman comes from the most centrist and you from the left, then I come out as a compromise. I generally try avoiding attacking my opponents anyway, I like to stick to the issues, the ideas. The battle of ideas is what I entered this race for."

"In terms of your role," she paused, "I want someone I respect and have slight disagreements with by my side. There's obviously different choices here and there, but White House Chief of Staff, Special Counselor or something of that sort has a ring to it, I would expect you to be the first one in the room and last one out. Where we disagree you have all the time you need to make your case, and when the decision is made, I'd expect you to respect that and make it work. No candidate can match me on college affordability, a middle and working class centered environmental plan and passable healthcare reform, I want your hand in making all that happen."

The group walked back down the trail, where they came across the chain link fence again. "Alright, we should be back in about 10 minutes from the looks of it." Ben said, as he continued down the trail.

However, for Vohoffsky, he suddenly felt the feeling that he was being watched by someone behind him. Or was it his imagination?
