Alex worked in an office for a small business for very long, handing out assignments to all the employees, but after the last economic crisis his company went bankrupt, after his boss was arrested for fraud and tax evasion, and the company was absorbed by a large multinational.
So in order making sense of things he decided to travel to DC, so he can see the state of the nation first hand, get a job, and make a difference, for all hard-working Americans, so people can have more job security, in an economically stronger country, with more public order, and a safer society.

This needs a lot more work and in general to be greatly expanded. What is your intention for the character?

That is not a 1990s issue, more of a 1960s issue that is why I didn't understand why Lynskey said 1990s.
