"Aye aye aye" the German chancellor replied, winking. He knew too well.
He also shook Jed's hand, and the hand of the aides.
"Pleaze sirs, let us chat more at the REIK-SH-TAG."

Soon, the vehicle was on the road. As they drove around on the way to Berlin, the Chancellor proved to be very conversational. He talked of many things, the strange weather in Germany recently, FIFA, American culture, all sorts of things...
A few times Jed tried to get him to talk about the war but the Chancellor insisted that
"Buziness would come later."
At length they rolled into Berlin. In contrast, to Paris, Berlin looked more modernised with more skyscrapers and glass buildings, however, there was still a distinctive European architecture to it all.
The vehicle arrived at the Reichstag, a magnificent glass building. They were all escorted by a small body of security guards to the Chancellor's very spacious and magnificent meeting room near his private office.
"PLEAZE..." the Chancellor said to the guards. "Ve are vell taken care of. You may leave. Oh... And bring us some Jair-mann beer."
He motioned for Dixie and his team to sit down. There were lots of comfortable chairs. The Chancellor himself sat down.
"Alright. Let's get Ztarted. You vant military elp against ze Americans no?"
"Yes the Americans are an unstable force like the red army your nation has experience with, but we have the Tactics needed to win this War!" Steve explains. "We need men and supplies to win, and your nation has some of the best fighters in the world!" Steve complements the German. "As for the French they weren't helpful, hell my nations nearly eliminated army could take France out!" He explains. "Speaking of those cowards my address should be airing right about now!"
Frederick Reiss
"Yez Yez Yez," the Chancellor said. "The French Press zey did air the letter. It is cauzing quite a stir across Europe."
The servants showed up, bringing a very generous amount of beer. The beer was set down for all parties to enjoy.
"I want to help you Mizter Dixie," he said. "I've always zupported your side. But one thing p-rrr-event me from zending in the Doitchland Forces. The firzt is that Jair-many iz a Federation member, ve are constitutionally barred from sending in our military WIZOUT the app-rrr-oval of ze Federation Government, zis means that Delacroix needs to agree."

Jed decided to speak up this time.
"Wait," Jed interjected, sipping some beer. "You represent Germany. Germany has the biggest army and air force in the Federation right? But you can't use it unless the Federation says so?"
...
Frederick Reiss
"Conztitutionally zpeaking... yes," Frederick said as he drank some beer. "I can elp you in ozer ways, but not with direct military zupport. What do you zink?"

Jed Rogers
Hmmmm... damn Federation constitution
"Well," he said, looking at Dixie and then at Reiss, "How about increased financial aid... and formal recognition of the CSA? I mean... sure the Federation has shied away from full outright diplomatic recognition but if Germany, a Federation state does it, it's still a gain for us in some way."

Frederick Reiss
"Vel if zat elps..." he said.

The aide turned to Steve.
"Mr. President, what do you think?"
