Also, Oklan's parents had been known to work for the Mafia, but left when they realized how bad things were. Thompson didn't know this, and also thought Oklan was connected to the Mafia. He doesn't have proof. He also thinks Oklan will abuse his Mechromancy/metal making powers, even though they are the same thing, Thompson isn't bright enough to realize that.

He hates most mages. There could have been a thing going on where Kalden and Thompson new each other, and that's why Thompson doesn't mind.

so he also specializes in magic using (blank)

Can we say he’s okay with Kalden because he likes his anti-Mafia objectives (but for Thompson it’s mostly about killing Valkov?)

Meanwhile the AT force thinks his Earth magic is useful?

Sounds good to me

Name: Cyv Karien
Age: 25
Appearance: Cyv has black hair and magenta eyes. He is always found wearing a black and blue hoodie, and a tragicomic mask (if you don't know what it is, it's the symbol of theatre), he specially made the mask to cover his face, though the reason is unknown. The mask conveys his emotions, too. He wears ripped black jeans, black gloves, and black converse.
Skillset: Cyv is a master of trickery. Using is psychic magic (not telekenesis) to manipulate thoughts, create portals and fire psychic blasts at will. He loves setting traps that toy with one's mind, and is great at illusions.
Personality: a little insane, very bright spirited, yet also dark and mysterious
Weaknesses/Fears: He himself is a little mentally unstable. If you manage to catch him off guard, you can make him forfeit a fight without even landing a hit. He also isn't great at hand to hand combat, or even weapon fighting for that matter.
Likes: Traps, mind tricks, magic tricks
Dislikes: His own mentality
Motivation for joining Antihero/Mafia team: He's a 3rd party Profiteer. if the job pays good money, he'll do it. If he's in the middle of a job, and gets paid better money from the opposition, he will backstab. He works for either party.

Everyone, please focus on the gangsters and ignore Oklan’s presence in the scene for now.

I’m discussing in TGs whether or not we really want Oklan to appear here st this point.

Since Night 1 is meant to be a trial run/opportunity for PCs to demonstrate their powers. It’s too early for PC vs PC.

Please focus on eliminating/defeating gangsters only

There may be a retroactive edit out of the post

Oklan will be leaving momentarily, just gotta figure out how to do that. I'm working on that as we speak. I just wanted to get Oklan away from the Park

Ok fine

By the way, we are near a shop in South West Pizza

It wasn’t necessarily intended to be be near a park?

The ATs are fighting on a street and not a park

I think on “Night 2” we can have him open the attack instead (for Night 1, Gabriels did)

In your internal monologue, mention that you contacted and joined Kalden’s team shortly after the attack on Rigoletto on Night 2 when you enter the RP

That might be the way to do it.

What do you think?

(I want to avoid long winded diner meetings until after the Three Nights)

In the meantime, feel free to RP the Oklan vs Thompson bit on Night 1

It can be decisive (with death(s)) or indecisive with escapes

Up to you

It’s a separate event from AT attack night 1 though

(Too early for PCs by two players to fight I think)

Considering Cyv's incentive, he would need to be paid to do it. So there should be mention of good pay.

I liked the Thompson vs Valkov fight.

Reminds me of Last Airbender except more crazy fun.

(Although when Valkov said... “earth Mages are purely defense...” did you mean “offense?”

@ Greater vakolicci haven

Hi Haven, Kroupel wants to ask whether or not it’s in-character for Kalden to use paid magical mercenaries for the AT team...

He has a PC master of illusions character

Is it okay if Kalden pays him to fight starting from the Night 2 attack?

NO, I didn't mean offense. Earth magic is a heavyset defense magic. Focused on blocking attacks until the opponent has little energy to perform any magic, then attacking

Oh so you (Valkov) meant Thompson unwisely used his magic to attack (and burned a ton of energy sub optimally) when instead he should have defended and counter attacked more?

Could I introduce Cyv by having him stalk over everything that's been happening? He won't do anything but watch. It'd be a cool way to introduce him. Pretty much when he greets the others he'd be like "Hi, I liked how you fight, pay me and I'll fight with you." but very eerie-like because of his mask

Let’s keep him out of the picture until night 2

I think it’s going to muddy the narrative up too much (plus it would be a bit unrealistic that he happened to be there)

However, if Kalden agrees I have an idea (very very far down the road) on how his illusion powers can play a very instrumental role later

...

By the way, in case Kalden is uncomfortable with mercenaries, how inflexible are you about the mercenary nature/personality of the character?

Is that negotiable?

Gain Cyv's trust and he won't turn on you. He still requires pay, but if he trusts you, he won't turn on you for a better pay

Okay I'll wait to see what Haven says (and then we'll negotiate).

Night 1 and 2 are sort of testing grounds for the main characters of the story to establish their powers and personalities in combat so the NPCs are not the strongest. It's to set the stage for the AT Force to be a credible threat to the Mafia with extraordinary powers. You also get glimpses of the Mafia's brutality.

...

If approved,

I'll try to get to Night 2 as soon as we can. And then I think we can open with your character once the second target is set up.

However, before launching Night 2, MAYBE I'll have Ander have a bit of a pep talk with the team, I'll have to TG the player and see where he stands on that as well
