Age: 24
Sex: M
Height: 5'9
Weight: 153 lbs
Skills: Basic Firearms knowledge, adept at riding bikes, quick on foot.
Weaknesses: No specialist skills, Mildly aggressive, can't read social ques.
Personality:Relatively Quiet, sometimes perceived as rude as he can't really understand body language or anything of the sort, and ends up saying the wrong thing. Often seen with only one or two friends.
Occupation: LAPD Probie Bike officer
Equipment:
Glock 22,40 rounds
X26 Taser
Tactical Vest
Motorola Radio
Pelican Tactical Flashlight
Remington 870 (Fires beanbags and live) 25 beanbags, 20 live.
Steel Extendable baton
Bike Helmet with LAPD Markings
Bio: Born to two normal parents, one in the LAFD, and the other a business secretary. He went through normal schooling, not being the most popular kid around, getting stuck near the middle of the chart. He signed up with LAPD youth programs(LAPD cadets, not any impact groups) and quickly enjoyed being in it and learning about the police. He rode bike marathons with his friends, developing strong leg muscles, which could help him with running and riding. He enjoyed his early to mid youth, having a great childhood not impacted by tragedy or anything of the sorts.

After graduating high school , he had a few options laid out before him. One, was to go to the military and become a MP, but he didn't want to stand around a base all day, or go to some far away land. Two, join up with the LAPD, after going through their community programs, and sign up at 21. Or three, he could go out into the private sector as a Private security officer or even a PMC contractor, blackwater did seem a safe choice. Eventually, he chose the LAPD, and went through their Community Support programs, and then went to training, where he did honestly average. He liked it, though, and graduated around the upper middle of his class, becoming a Probationary Officer. He signed up with the bicycle unit, and was assigned a experienced officer to look over him until he was a full officer.
RP Sample: gonna be honest, kinda cringe in my history, but ok. There are many more, but the only post I have lodged on this one looks better to me than 90% of my other posts.

Nice, it'll be good to incorporate law enforcement.

Sorry for the very much jumping to the heart of the story post, I wanted to catch up real quick, so I wasn't the character following the others who just left actually that kind of sounds like an interesting idea, well it's already out there.

I think pragmatic approaches like that help to propel the story along. No sweat.

Also, sorry everyone for not being too active the past few days, the first week of school's been kicking my a**. I'll post something tonight.

I'll try to post either tonight or tomorrow, wanted to see how things unfolded inside the radio station.
Btw, I'm really enjoying the snippets of media coverage, keep it up with those.

Sounds good, no rush. The time is kind of floating right now as there are multiple interactions in process, but I'd say anywhere between 6-8 PM on Day 3 is accurate for RP purposes.

Thanks, I want to make sure I'm providing enough information for RP to work off of. If there are any ideas that anyone wants to see from a media/NPC perspective, TG me.

Donovan O'Hehir
Image

Appearence: Light skin with reddish brown curly hair, cut moderately short. Facial hair is an even darker reddish brown along the chin, and upper lip, in an unconnected goatee. He has freckles around his face, pretty much just all over, and over much of his body. Greyish blue eyes. Series of tattoos as well, in various styles though most are abstract or geometric.
Age: 32
Sex: Male
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 210 lbs
Skills: Tarot reading, Fortune telling of various other kinds(astrology, palm reading, etc), card games and tricks, sleight of hand, lying, reading people (mannerisms, expressions, tells, etc), observant, knives and dirty fighting, a decent cook,
Weaknesses: Distrustful, can get rather paranoid about the intentions of others, a bit of a kleptomaniac, rather lacking on practical survival-based skills, superstitious
Personality: A personable, outwardly kind and gregarious person, Donovan nevertheless has both a kleptomaniac streak and a lying habit. He's pleasant to be around, and speaks with a very humble tone. He's often very trustable as a person. He's rather open with emotional displays, though sometimes they're fabricated ones to sell a lie. He's very conscious of those that surrounds him, especially if running a con, as there's no telling what could tip them off that something's amiss. Ultimately, he wishes to enjoy his life to its fullest before his time is up, which is why he moved to LA in the first place. He's just a bit of a libertine hedonist as a result, enjoying luxuries as he will.
Occupation: Fortune Teller/conman
Equipment:
  • Tarot deck
  • 52 card deck
  • Swiss Army knife
  • Switchblade
  • Wallet with about 20$, credit and debit cards from a local credit union, and various forms of ID.
  • A few fake IDs
  • Books on occult subjects, including one on demons and spirits of the natural world in a slim backpack
  • Thermal sealed water bottle (Got to stay hydrated!)
  • Some weed and his lunch in the same backpack.
Bio: Donovan was born in a fairly rural town County Cork, Ireland, though you wouldn't know it by his accent. Partially because his family moved to the USA midwest at a young age, and partially because a concerted effort of his own, his voice only retains the barest hint of an Irish brogue. He was raised in largely rural and catholic environments, yet what drew him the most was the distant heritage of pagan Ireland and the more occult practices. This lead to some rather interesting, argumentative teenage years and more than one occasion of their local priest trying to 'convince him to give up Satan and embrace God'.

Needless to say, Donovan soon grew very tired of authority. As soon as he could, Donovan left home and never looked back. Though, he'd always thank them for giving him his sense of morality, it was rarely tethered by any religious, especially christian, thinking.

Though he never went to college or even a trade school, Donovan always found ways to keep himself fed. First, it was through more illegal ventures. Pick-pocketing, cheating at cards, minor cons that tricked people out of their pocket money. He turned out rather good at the latter, and over his twenties learned just what to say to convince the wealthy to part with their money. Phony investments proved to be one of the best scams, actually, hard to trace, especially when they were used to throwing away bigger money constantly. Eventually, He he came to style himself a bit like Robin Hood, only fleecing those who he believes deserves it and giving away what he didn't need to those who needed it more than he.

Over the years, he came to be more and more infatuated with the glamour of Los Angeles from afar, and began working his way towards there. Though, as he approached California by bus and on foot, he had plenty of time to think. He needed a more stable income. Less likelyhood of being jailed would be nice too (luckily, nothing had stuck so far, but he and the law weren't exactly friendly in many places he'd been). He'd always been rather interested in elements of the occult as a child, and began looking into what it might take to throw together a fortune telling business. He began truly pouring into the various methods and ritualism and meaning behind fortune telling. He'd never found proof of its veracity, but he never stopped looking. His work became surprisingly popular, due to low price points and the results people got when they attended. This was partially because he often ended up lying in favor of the customer. Little bits of hope could make a world of difference, especially when it came to confidence and kindness, and he wanted to put something good back into the world in some way. It would be his first truly honest venture.

Though he could never truly give up the criminality to supplement the regular income he was accruing now. He always found new marks, new activities. The local gambling spots hadn't found out his cheating habits yet, after all!

Looks good. Welcome.

Thank you. I hope the first post was good. Donnie's heading towards the Radio Station partially by chance, after being cooped up in his apartment with a dead body since the end of Day 1.

I do find it funny that he doesn't exactly bring many practical skills to the group, save a way with people and knowing how to cook.

Good post. Sorry about your lost draft, I've been there plenty of times. I'll respond when I get home.

I have another post ready as well, but I'm gonna let at least another person responds before I post it out. Don't wanna flood the thread when I'm still on my own! :P

Honestly, you're welcome to post now if you wish. Things have been quiet the past few days, so an interaction might be nice.

Don't worry, unless you start spamming back to back posts without any interaction, then you're probably fine

Sure then, I can post. Question though, I was going to have Don come in through the same alley/fire escape a few others have, would he see anyone on climbing through the broken window? He's not being subtle in it.

Actually, I'd say just go through the busted door on the ground floor. At least then our characters can interact, since he'd be walking right into the room where Sabrina is.

Sure, though that's a worrying thing to hear about this building's security, lol.

Nice post. I'll respond sometime later tomorrow.

I think it might be a good idea to write a post to encompass all of our current chars.

A 'hello my name is' meeting. Since I am bit confused on whom or who have arrived at the Radio Station due to everyone 'colorful way of entrance'.

Yeah, I wasn't sure either. It might be good to jump ahead to night and pull everyone into one story thread.

From what I could gather in the Ic, the situation is as follows:
Ground Floor of the station: Sabrina (Convallaria), Suzanne (Monfrox) and Donovan who just entered (Holy Lykos)
First Floor: Elizah (Idiotic Peoples) and Hiroshi (Sudbrazil)
On the street just outside the station: Fritz (Hoosier Alliance), Vera (Felan Federation), Sam (Kentucky Fried Land) and Jason (myself)
Shawn (Paddy O Fernature) hasn't caught up timewise, and Andrew (Northern Poland) supposedly entered the station, yet anyone else has yet to react. Due to his post lacking a timestamp, you could say it is something that has not yet happened

It would help move things along if people with unresolved interactions could finish them in the next few days, and then move forward with the whole group together.

For my character, don't wait up on me... I have a plan for eventually linking up with the group at some point down the road. ;)
