Could be pretty influental, perhaps 10-20% of the world's population would be a good estimate. I'd also imagine it to be the faith the RoE might get behind, boosting its influence.

Sorry guys, was away all day yesterday, trying to catch up now with everything that happned.

Couple things:
- For anything that needs my attention urgently, send me a TG.
- For anyone overwhelmed by rules, I can manage your colony's finances, you just have to tell me a rough idea about what you want built and write the IC texts.
- You can go all the way to turn 3 with the postings.

Name: The Honorable Captain Ada Wiles, Esquire
Sex: Female
Date of Birth: January 25, 2015
Appearance:
District: The British Territories
Biography: Ada was born into the world we know and love. Right before everything went so horribly wrong. Raised in Post-Brexit London, which had been saved from seemingly inevitable decline by the economy boom of the 20's, her wealthy parents and the extended Wiles family kept her in an environment where she could learn and grow in peace. She went to Oxford for Business in 2032, it still being one of the most prestigious schools around. Ada graduated with highest honors in 2036, ready to take on the world. It seemed bright, even with all of the solar system-wide controversy - she was confident she could find her place in the world. And then everything went to hell.
Anticipating some kind of danger as everything began to collapse in 2037, though none quite of the scale that actually occurred, Ada fled for the countryside around the time of the impact in Washington, DC, well before the events of that fateful day in 2038. Ada set up a comfortable place, ready to wait out the economic troubles and the global tension. And then it came. The shockwaves could be felt even far from the impacts, the destruction leaving no place truly untouched. Sheltering in her own home for a long while after the bombs dropped, Ada continued to wait out the carnage, the horror. She only had to take care of herself, so she could hold out for a while.
Eventually, the local authorities began to organize, rallying under the new Republic of Earth. Ada began searching for her place in this new, irreparably changed world. And, like many others, she began to look to the stars. She eventually located someone who could get her to the moon, where she could then receive the necessary training and purchase a ship. She did just that. And now, 12 years after that fateful day, Ada is ready to take on the world again. Just perhaps not quite as she had originally imagined.
Education: University schooling in Business, with later training in Space Flight and Navigation
Current occupations: Owner of Golden Bull Shipping & Trading, and Captain of the GBS Shylock

Welcome aboard!
About your latter question, atm there is no way of hiring more pilots. Idea is that pilots are in very short supply at the beginning, which gives you guys a monopoly on shipping. In theory you can keep adding more engines and cargo space to expand your shipping capacity.

Judging by what is written in the IC, I suppose Promether Terra is still free. Can I found my colony there or someone has already took it?

You can always hold onto colonists on earth. They'll stay there and chill until you need them on mars.

Would any of the freelancers be willing to buy up some of my food surplus as well as some water on the side for 3 BC?

Sadly such things only sell for 1 normally... so there’s not really any profit there.

Hm, it's possible but it'd need to offer a profit of 5bC or more for me (which I'm not sure straight water and food can do that :S ). Sarama will be at Mars next in Turn 5, something that'd be way more interesting from a trading perspective is if you could change that water into fuel.

I can’t seem to find a configuration to produce IP even with an ally supplying my food for me.

...

I think I’ll just set up an agricultural colony somewhere and hope someone with a spaceship buys my food.

Haha yeah. My hunch is that at this point there's enough profits to be shared, so they're more likely to be cooperative and helping one another than anything. Sarama also isn't interested in any world/market domination schemes at the moment either, so she's happy to share. Heck, means there's also one more ship that could rescue her if something goes wrong during a trip. Got any thoughts on how you're going to kit out the ship yet? Debating whether to go all-in on ore, whether to diversify into liquids, or grab some extra quarters for future-proofing.

But teaming up with someone else will boost your start, no doubt. You can share landing site if you agree to.

How much would you pay for fuel, hypothetically?

Haven't run the numbers, but had a thought: would a penal-colony set up work? Build a colony that's sole purpose is to sustain and keep an eye on a steady slow of profitable prisoner colonists that a freelancer brings in on a regular schedule. Colony and freelancer then share the profits.

@Grim_Reaper,
Am thinking a 50/50 split - so I'd pay 1.5bC if the market price is 3bC? Would be planning to buy them in even bundles so the .5s won't come into play.

Hmm. I think I’ll bid 3 BC for those Polar lads. They’ll feel at home with Siberian comrades.

I wouldn't mind 0.5 bCs being thrown around. I was planning on using them on the market myself for better balancing.

Hey crazy idea: would anyone be interested in some kind of arrangement where I buy and deploy a carbon miner on a deposit in their territory? Would pay 1bC per turn for protection/energy/maintenance and then I get access to all the carbon it produces?

Seno Zhou Varada, are you interested in a trade deal? I can provide minerals in exchange for water. Could it be a good deal for you?

Can you get me carbon? I won't need it till later but I need it for some research eventually. How much water will you be wanting?

Edit: Just noticed you don't have any carbon in your region sorry. I could still exchange water, but in that case I would like something more like money or I guess future favors, pick your poison I suppose.
