LEGENDS WALK THE EARTH. Homo Anoteros, otherwise known as metahumans - some of them with mundane powers, some of them able to wipe out hundreds or even thousands of people in a distance. In the year 2025, things aren’t so clear when it comes to who the good guys and the bad guys are. The superheroes of the Hero League fight for peace and justice around the world, but the League has its own secrets and just like any organization, individuals can vary greatly in their own values. Some good, some bad. Other metahumans chose to use their powers for crime, to gain power, or they find themselves pushed into it… And yet others are removed from the spectrum of superheroes versus supervillains entirely and are agents working for or against a number of shadow factions across the world, ranging from corporations fighting for profit to secret societies and backroom alliances fighting for ideology or for power.
And yet there’s other things that we simply don’t understand at all. Anomalous events that have brought strange and unknown horrors into this world, the realm of magic and its arcane and often misunderstood rules and systems, different subtypes of metahumans, some of them incredibly dangerous and able to bring a society to their knees if not controlled… And there’s questions. Oh so many questions. What powers these metahumans, and where do they come from? Should we trust these people? Will they turn on us in the future, with little holding them back from destroying the world ten times over if they set their mind to it? Is there even anything we can do to stop them if their own goodness isn’t enough?
This is 2025. This is the world of Living Legends, the Second Age of humanity where angels walk the Earth just as men do.
What is this? This is the OOC thread for the reworked Living Legends RP, replacing the last one. The primary reason that there's a new thread is that the RP is being reorganized for a smaller but more dedicated and tight knit group, that will be more familiar and used to the unconventional methods used in the writing of this RP. Some things are being carried over from the original OOC lore wise while other things are being revised to fit the new and more firmly established group - some of the themes you can expect to see are cyberpunk, drama, and paranormal intrigue, as well as some of your more usual superhero stuff.This thread won’t be a traditional OOC thread for app storage (that will be done mostly independently via custom spreadsheets), but it will be a place for certain lore pieces to be posted and for other such announcements with the thread. Most of the activity will be coordinated via Discord although the posts are going on the forums in the end. Of course, the structure of having multiple IC threads is retained, with each thread having a different story and purpose and feel from the other ones. SUPERHEROES & REALITY TV COMBINED? After extensive analysis of performances, the Hero League has determined a need for a new pipeline of talented individuals to its senior teams... The Futures Program was created to fill this role, bringing together some of the best talents from 18-20 to be molded into the leaders of tomorrow while learning as members of Team Futures today. However, there's a twist - this isn't any usual training program but one which will use the media to propel the members of it into superstar status internationally, with the help of the new highly funded reality show Lights, Money, Heroes! and a hefty advertising budget. This is no usual hero team... This is a hero team living life in the spotlight, and with members still figuring themselves out as adults, and figuring out their skills as heroes, there's bound to be plenty of excitement and drama. In the background, these heroes will find out that there’s more to the business that meets the eye, and that intrigue is around every corner for someone ascending to the upper ranks of the Hero League and the business as a whole. This, everyone, is the story of the definitely unorthodox but always interesting Team Futures, starting with their very formation as a team.

New subtypes of metahumans have been appearing, some of them more dangerous than others. With the circumstances rapidly changing, and with everything continuing to evolve, will mankind come out the other side of a singularity in tact?
