“Ok, I’ll start the bike outside.” Cassie was a little miffed about not having the second alone with her bestie. But she knew if Kate wanted that moment with nomad it had to be important.

After Stature left Danielle turned to Kate "Yes?"

Kate lowered her voice. “Danielle, keep an eye on Cassie. She used to be a strong co-leader, but recently her emotional breakdowns are becoming complicated. Don’t let things get out of hand. And stay in touch, ok?”

Kate patted Danielle on the shoulder.

“Cool beans!” Cassie zoomed off. She weaved in an out of the highway traffic, it would take about two hours to reach the building in Manhattan from upstate NY. Cassie figured she might as well get friendly with Nomad. Besides, she felt a weird sort of trust with this girl.

“Hey,” she started as they slowed to a halt behind traffic, “you can call me Cassie. I’m Ant-Man’s kid. I only tell my friends my identity. Saw Kate and you were quite icy with each other. Kate and I are best friends. Do you know each other?”

Carol decides to leave the compound and heads toward NYC. She lands on top the Empire State Building and looks over the city wondering who got kidnapped.

The White Dragon smirked, holstering his rifle and moving stealthily towards the car of Captain America. He watched carefully, making sure he wasn't seen, before dropping and rolling under the car, grabbing hold of areas that he knew would be safe to hold onto. He closed his eyes and focused on his chi, mingling his energies with that of the Dragon Spirit that was bonded to him. After a few moments, he had found it, and using the power of the White Dragon spirit, he was able to easily hold himself close the bottom of the car. For now, however, he dropped to the ground. No sense in tiring himself out. Once they entered the car he would return to his spot, allowing them to take him directly to Taskmaster.

Plus she just immediately berated and insulted everyone who came to help her, not exactly good leadership skills. She calmed down a bit sure but it doesn't mean i've forgotten."

"Nah, I don't usually work that high up the villain scale." Ace said, shrugging. He stood, extending his hand to the man with a smile, "The name's Ace!"

His large red coat hung loosely around him, covering his decks of cards. He wasn't sure about this guy, something seemed a little off, but if he had issues with the Kingpin, Ace had feeling he couldn't be THAT bad! Still though, his cards were at the ready should the need arose that he would have to use them to protect Spidey.

Spidey's eyes fluttered open to find two other men standing in front of him.

"Who the heck are you guys? More Kingpin stooges, I'm assuming. Listen, the last thing I wanna do is hurt you. But it's still on the list, I guess." Peter tried to push himself up to give these two guys a nice uppercut and kick, but he fell down. His hands and feet were bound. Damn. No matter. Peter just shot a web to the ceiling, pulled himself up and cut the rope on the broken glass window, landing neatly in front of the two new bozos.

"Do you guys know what my favorite part of the joke is?" Peter flipped into the air and flew fists-first upon the the two guys.

Cassie was quiet for the rest of the trip. Nomad wasn't acting like the friendliest girl, and Cassie didn't usually like people who didn't like Kate...but this was an exception. Cassie though Nomad was a good leader and liked her focus. Cassie herself knew she needed to focus on the mission ahead. She couldn't let everyone down. Not this time.

Cassie pulled up a block ahead of the Taskmaster facility. "We'll walk to the facility, so they don't see us coming."

There was a heavy police presence in front of the facility, but the officers were careful not to enter. Cassie settled her black face mask over her eyes and cracked hear knuckles. "You stay outside the facility...there's a small Starbucks there, I'll guess you'll be inconspicuous there. Oh wait: you're wearing the mask, you'll probably stand out. Ok I don't know. Stay out here on the comm line."

Cassie spoke into the mic on her wrist. "Come in, Hawekeye. Comms are hooked, and I'm outside the facility. Time is 12:26. Standing by."

Kate had just pulled of her uncomfortable super suit for some baggy jeans and a comfortable crop top. She'd settled down in front of her computer with a nice cup of coffee and had hacked SHIELD's old database to gather as many records on Taskmaster as possible. From what she could gather, he wasn't a low level threat and wasn't beatable in the conventional sense. She sipped her coffee and read Nick Fury's first record on Taskmaster. Real name suspected to be one Anthony Masters, a former US Agent gone rogue. The guy had a photographic memory, with the ability to gather knowledge almost instantaneously. He also had a ridiculously quick mind, which allowed him to formulate complex plans in a matter of seconds. He exposed himself to cortisol, a key component in the super soldier serum that allowed him to further develop his skills. All of this contributed to his trademark ability: the power to mimic others moves to a T.

Kate read up on his weaknesses. He couldn't replicate superhuman moves. Unfortunately, nobody on their team other than Cassie was ridiculously superhuman. Another weakness was when Taskmaster copied something new; this would push old memories out of his brain. That wasn't particularly useful because his short term memory was incredibly sharp. Finally, Kate found a biggie. As a result of long-term exposure to the enhanced cortisol contained in the modified Super-Soldier Serum, Taskmaster's hippocampus (the part of the brain responsible for networking memories and consolidating information for both short and long-term memory) suffered severe damage, which resulted in him having difficulty in recalling specific and/or explicit memories. For example, he could recognize a place or landscape from a photo or painting, but couldn't recall if he actually visited said place. In extreme situations, he could even forget who he is, what he is doing or why he is doing it. This also could results in him forgetting about people he met, although he can recognize them.

Ok, Kate mused, that's it. Kate had trained to develop a few moves from a type of martial art called Kun Tao, which specializes in disorientation and confusion of the opponent. Taskmaster would be able to copy those moves, but as long as Kate herself remained unconfused, Taskmaster's brain would overload with the complexity of the fight and he could possibly be temporarily incapacitated by memory loss. Kate resolved to go in and pursue that plan if things went bad.

That's when she heard Cassie over the computer comm line.

Cassie spoke into the mic on her wrist. "Come in, Hawekeye. Comms are hooked, and I'm outside the facility. Time is 12:26. Standing by."

"Copy that, Stature. What's Nomad's 20? Do you have eyes on the guard makeup? Over."

Nomad went to the command center and checked in with the Police, they gave her they layout a few patrol patterns they had figured out and the locations where the hostages were likely located. "It's safest to to take out cams when it's closer to the time, I don't think Cassie should take them out. I was considering shooting arrows and breaking the cams, but I suppose they'll notice the CCTV spontaneously cutting to black. I can probably hack them from here to focus on one empty hall. Is there an empty hall, Cassie?"
